There is 2 kind of green screen from what i was found - Sony Xperia 1 Guides, News, & Discussion

hi guys
i want to share my experience bug. there is 2 kind of green display, one of is someone already post on xda seems display defect. but what i got is bug i think.
you can see from my picture green bar on the top will appear in some condition only and it will disappear in home screen only when you using another Launcher. but in another Launcher it will only show up in recently app menu (different location). so far i can say if you meet same with me do not panic and make conclusion, try another method first like what i did.
my conclusion is there is bug around home things because its not appear when you playing game or watching movie

Not sure if it's really not visible or I'm blind, but I can't see the green bar.

The fact you've posted a screenshot that shows no issue, whilst you see an issue on your device, would heavily indicate that the issue is hardware based

ok then well i suggest using the warranty if you still have it
if not, and a replacement will cost too much, then try to avoid it as it doesnt effect the usability of the device. ive heard this is an ongoing issue with the i900
best thing is to ignore it

Defect screen? + pictures

Hello,
I have a problem with my screen. It is there since I can remember, but with the grayish interface it is really starting to get annoying. I'm wondering if anyone has had the same. It is just a white "dot" with a longer, lighter stripe. Mostly visible on gray backgrounds, but also on black/other dark colors.
Some pictures:

You might want to show it to the service center, they might get your screen replaced.

That is the problem. In Holland we do not have service centers. If I want to have it fixed I will have to send it to HTC.
Someone has at least an idea what it is or how to describe it to HTC?
Thanks.

hi, i think if u write them a mail and attach those pics there will be no need for in-depth description. just tell them since when u have that and how it started to appear.

I sure that that isn't a defect screen, if it was then it should be all black, and not have the statusbar shown. I was thinking, maybe if you got try to hook it up to your TV, with an HDMI, and see if it works that way.
But it could be the a bad download of the rom.

Thanks but your missing the point slightly. The screen works fine, but on darker backgrounds there is a white spot with a stripe in the middle as can be seen clearly I think.

Oh, my bad Then yeah it looks like a defect to me. You should send it back
Good luck.
Did you find out what was the problem with your screen? My Sensation has developed the exact same thing, right there in the middle of the screen.
I am deciding wether I can live with it or if I should try my luck with a replacement from T-Mobile (a refurb). If it's something that could get worse (my guess is yes) then it's going back for sure.

its a DPI issue i believe.
dont know the fix, but nothign is "wrong" enough to worry about.
hopefully someone can tell you how to fix it.
Thank you for that. Another question, anyway to set custom led colors for app notifications?

That feature is built into PA so no need to download any 3rd party apps!
Just go to the following:
Settings
Display
Pulse Notification Light
+Add

Yeah I figured it out, under the PA setting hit the menu button and select apps. From there you can assign the size of each app. The best one for GS3 is the smallest one which is 1.26p I believe (I switched to CleanRom 7). From there use the slider and bring it all the way to the right. Apply changes and you should be golden.

S8+ Screen worries

Hey guys
Any of you with the s8 or s8+ can you help
Type into Google the word red or purple, click on images and tell me if anything happens
When I do this, half my screen turns purple or for red I just get tons of weird lines, the same when reading black text on white background
The issue disappears once I get past half brightness
Do I have a faulty LCD??

Here you can see the black lines under the text
http://oi66.tinypic.com/2lu3mlw.jpg
This one you can see there are 3 black lines that go down the screen. But the camera picks it up best on the green nav bar
That seems like a bad screen. Try a factory reset and see if it goes away. If it does then it's somethiing you have installed causing the problem. If it is still there then it is a faulty screen.

Mine does NOT do that. I am using auto brightness. Sounds like something messed up with the display. Sry
Mine is on auto brightness as well and it DOES NOT do that. Sorry, but that shouldn't be normal.
My phone doesn't do this. Looks like a bad screen to me.
no nothing at all
Cannot replicate, faulty display. Get a replacement.
Mine doesn't do that either it's deffienetly a faulty screen you have but I would do a factory reset first.
Absolutely faulty display, advise change it as soon as possible.
Mine does NOT do this either. Swap it out.

Distorted graphics after sleep

I installed LineageOS on a Motorola G7 power about a month ago. A few days ago I started getting problems with graphic displays after my phone goes to sleep. (This includes wallpaper, icons, etc). I uninstalled all apps since this problem started - didn't help. And today I installed the most recent update of LOS - didn't help either. The attached file shows what the distortion of graphics looks like...

You are right, there is nothing wrong with the screenshot. It appears that the screenshot saved the graphic correctly.
So I took a pic of my phone , which should show correctly...

Yeah that thought crossed my mind... with screen shots wysiwyg... sometimes
Looks like an issue with the graphics driver.
You can try clearing the system cache.
Maybe you got a bad download/corrupted flash or something's not right with the firmware.
Lots of reasons I don't root; it's pretty much a gravity well that sucks up time.

Could be, or the firmware is giving the display incorrect voltage levels that are marginal or incorrect digital data.
You need known good firmware or known good hardware to narrow it down...
If he had no display issues before the flash...
