Sometimes the proximity sensor works but sometimes it does not ...anybody else facing this issue

I had the same problem too. Factory reset and clearing cache seemed to solve the problem.

I tried factory resetting and clearing cache etc. I would like to apply for a replacement. Assuming you also bought the device from Amazon, how should I go about the replacement? Should I submit any video proof showing them that the device is faulty?
PS: This is my first time purchase of smartphone via online.

I am facing display issues in nexus 5. Display is showing pixels all over the screen and there is no image at all.
Sometimes, when i press power button multiple times, the home screen does appear but it does not work at all times (may be 1 out of 20 times or even less). So I am not able to use the phone currently and am waiting to get it resolved.
i visited some IT repair shops and the repair guys without even having a full look at my problem, they simply say that i need to get display replaced. Although a few of repair guys told me that its only some software issue. So am now confused what to do.
There is no physical damage of any sort. HOwever, a few days back before i started to face the display issue, it did fall from a chairs height as it slipped from my hand but it fell on its back and also had spigen slim armor backcover on. So i dont think that could have caused any damage. Also, before i started getting the problem, i had also upgraded to 5.1. I tried to do factory reset, wiping cache but that didnt work. Please can you help me as i need urgent help as to what the issue could be - could it be a software or some minor hardware issue. your urgent reply is highly appreciated.

Thank you for using XDA Assist. It sounds like hardware to me. But first flash the factory image using fastboot, http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/tutorial-how-to-flash-factory-image-t2513701 If you still have the problem it's hardware.

I have my device unlocked, not coded - european version. It was all good no problems with anything.
Just last night i went to sleep and when I woke up in the morning I noticed this error on my S6:
"An error has occurred with the fingerprint sensor. if this message appears repeatedly, restart your device."
Clearing cache did not help. Nor dit the factory reset...
Tried running fingerprint test by typing *#0*# on the phone app but it stopped with no result so I guess there must be something wrong with the fingerpring scanner.
Honestly I am very dissapointed and must admit that i would not expect one of the major funcionalities to stop working after less than 48 hours from buying.
Anyone else having this?

I've just started getting this too. Mine is 11 days old. Did you figure out if it is a hardware or software problem?

Kind of.
Apparently some of the SGS6 units are faulty and have loose home button or not well clipped or anyhow you describe it.
So its a hardware problem. They should repair it by replacing the front screen, glass and home button or just give you another phone.
Give it to the warranty.
Today I am very dissapointed in SGS6, would not buy it another time. It is not that spectacular at all.
Better wait for Note 5 or choose another brand.

Thanks for the info. Must say, I share your view. The phone looks nice but thats about the best thing I can say about it at the minute!
I'll speak to Samsung in the morning and see what they say.
Sometimes it happens to me too but its very rare and I just have to unlock the phone via password and then the sensor restarts working. I dont think (hope) its a hardware issue.
Well mine is not working for a month now. Not a single time. So its hardware believe me.
I will give it to warranty when possible.
Yours apparently is software issue, or even hardware but not that serious.
I spoke with samsung and was told it is a known issue that they can deal with under warranty. Fortunately mine presented quick enough that I'm getting a replacement from EE.
I had the same issue of sporadically not working. Replaced the phone (warranty). Have the exact same issue on the new phone. Guess I'll exchange yet again. Very frustrating.
Yuphoria front camera pixelation problem
I have a yuphoria purchased a month back. Since last one week my front camera showing yellow and red pixels (dots) while opened. I have done factory reset also but it did not worked. Can anybody help me to overcome this problem.

man its a hardware problem. i had also faced this problem and returned my phone to amazon.

U can check that the return option is still there in your amazon account for your order of yuphoria. I think you can return it with in 30 days not sure.

For electronics it's around 10 days return policy..
Ever since i got my T Mobile Galaxy S6 Delivered a couple of days ago, the finger print scanner does not work.
It keep displaying the message :
"Make sure that the home key is clean and dry, then try again"

I bought the phone on Swappa, and the seller claims it never got wet.

Make sure there isn't a protective strip on the button. Peel it off. Had one like that, felt the fool...
It's probably on the way to not working. Mine said that a few times and now always gives me the fingerprint sensor error message.
Hard reset hasn't fixed it.
It's a common issue. Happened to me as well, now it's not working

So what is Samsung doing about it? Can we all submit complaints to them in a common place so they do something.

I would. I switched to an iphone 6s+ and i'm sending my S6 to Samsung for work. The fingerprint sensor stopped working and it has a serious hardware issue with the wifi. I only hope they don't blame their **** product's problems on the crack in the back glass.
So my fingerprint scanner started working ...out of no where.
I ran the test under #*0#*
And it says failed... but it works. For now

I also got the same issue. Everything was working fine and i factory reset the phone to clear storage space. After the reset when i tried to set my fingerprint the scanner stopped working and started giving the same dry and clean message. I have realized that the phone doesn't even tries to read the fingerprint and anyways gives the clean and dry message even if i don't touch my finger on the sensor. I think that Samsung is doing this on purpose. I think that we all should get together in this forum and we should try to contact Samsung about this issue. The have to do something about. Thanks

Well .. finally the issue just got resolved by just replacing the home button at a local repair shop which cost me arround 7$

I opened the camera app and there are strange vertical lines going right to left like on the old tvs and even when i take a photo they are still visible.What can be the cause. Can this be caused by water or something? The story is i was heading home when a warer drop dropped on my screen like on the middle of the screen i have a screen protector and i cleaned the screen so i dont think that caused it .

Have you tried the usual like restarting the device? If so and you still have this issue try clearing the cache for the camera app via app manager in settings. If that still doesn't work try a factory reset.

I restarted the phone several time and forcestoped the app but it didnt help, i am beginning to think is because of low light maybe tomorrow when the day shines will try the phone

Start the phone in safe mode and open Samsung test menu with *#0*# (if u can't open it u are probably running a custom ROM with no test menu support in it)
Try the camera test in there. If the problem is still there u have a faulty camera.
So my problem is a bit different but it is still a camera problem. So my camera started acting funny a while ago and mos of the time it wouldn't open at all and blocking the front cam from working as well. So i ordered a new camera module online thinking that was the culprit, as the old one made a rattling noise when opening the camera. At last it arrived today so i swapped the cameras only to find the same problem persisting. I have also tried different firmwares and custom roms but still nothing. Does anyone know a cause or a fix for this problem?
