Try these for starting points. May be more, but I recalled seeing these threads. I know there's also a bounty to unlock a couple of the other GSM bands.

Yeah sory I was manly jus twondering what all is possible its nice to know I can flash to prepayed or T-Mobile but honestly what I realy want to do is flash it to boost. I should have been more clear sorry. but I'm sort of confused because boost tech support says they don't use SIM cards anymore. and the latest device on there network is a Samsung Galaxy s3. so I'm not sure. is there both a gsm and cdma versions of the sg3? I believe the sg3 on boost network is a sprint version.

Boost uses Sprint phones because they are owned by Sprint. I am pretty sure Verizon phones can not be flashed to boost. To my knowledge Sprint phones don't use removable SIM cards do a flash would not be possible

Nexus 5 no calls in or out. BUT! LTE working.

Bought a nexus 5 with a broken screen for 30 bucks. With that in mind, swapped the screen, battery door and radio module. Before doing the prior tried several roms, flashed a number of modems and it didn't fixed. The issue is the following, when I try to make a call, it just stays in the “calling" screen for about 20 seconds or so and and it just quits. Incoming calls go straight to voice mail. Currently running tesla rom 6.0.1. What info i can provide could be potentially useful to fix this problem?
Does the same thing on stock rom?

Yes, yes it does. Downgraded all the way to 4.4.4 with a factory image, hoping that it could solve the issue. But it didn't.
Strange. The sim works properly in another phone? Will the data work with the phone in 3g mode?
The SIM is new, and it doesn't work in 3g mode

There are 2 versions of the n5: 820 and 821.
Do both phones have the same model #?

Bootloader says D820
Both phones are "D820"? Were you able to confirm that calling worked on the phone you bought before making the swap?

The calling did not worked before the swap, and the new module was bought on eBay. I must say that the LTE and wi-fi signal improved significantly with the replacement part.
3G doesn't work for data or calls? If not, sounds like there may be a hardware defect.

HTC U11 on T-Mobile.............VoLTE enabled/available?!

Does anyone here have the HTC U11 AND is a T-Mobile customer??
If yes, can you please confirm whether or not the UNLOCKED U11 shows VoLTE as an option on T-Mobile's network? Or is it not enabled/showing?! Please only answer if you know for sure.
Thanks!
Both VoLTE and Wifi Calling can be enabled in settings under "Call"

And just to reconfirm, you DO 1) Live in the U.S. and 2) Are using the U11 on T-Mobile's network? and 3) Is your phone unlocked?!! Please type the word "unlocked" in your reply so I know you saw this last minute addition.
Thanks.

Fruits99,
Thanks so much! Great to know HTC isn't cheaping out on their unlocked phones like most other makers do. lol :good:
BTW, T-mobile Visual Voicemail works great on unlocked U11 too. Even comes with free 30 days of voicemail to text service (automatically activated and automatically terminated at end of trial, no subscription required).

That's cool. Yeah I use that app as well, though didn't subscribe for vm to text. Much easier than calling to listen to your VMs.
Thanks again for all the info!!!!!!!!!!!
Very useful post. Thank you! Can I also put an additional AT&T SIM in this phone and use it as a dual-sim phone instead of using the MicroSD slot for extra storage? It's not clear to me in the specs if I can use two different Sims with two different carriers in this phone. It seems that that works in the international version, but I want to make sure it works in the US version as well. Thanks again for any assistance.

Hi root,
You're very welcome! Glad you found it helpful.
I have no clue. I would start a new thread and ask that question though. I still have my HTC 10. I decided not to upgrade to the U11, but wanted to know whether or not HTC was "cheaping out" on the U.S. or not. It was nice to find out they didn't. :good::victory:
Thank you. I'm following another post I found regarding the international model to see if I can get an answer there. Looking at this phone and theone plus 5 as possibilities.
Dual SIM, and t mobile WiFi calling are pretty important to me if I can get it.
Happy Independence day!

root,
YW!
Ok sounds good.
Well I CAN tell you that when a manufacturer certifies their phones for VoLTE with T-Mobile, that certification also INCLUDES Wi-Fi Calling. This was the case with my UNLOCKED HTC 10, as you can see confirmed here.
So now it's just about finding out your SIM thing I guess. lol
Happy 4th to you as well!!

shubham,
Yeah I don't think it's available in all countries, unfortunately. If the phone works for you though, then that's really all that matters. VoLTE is just a bonus for the most part.

What is the benefits of converting t-mo to global?

I just order t-mo oneplus 8 this afternoon and I just wonder what are the benefits and drawbacks for converting t-mo to global version?
Appreciate if someone can clarify these questions for me. Thanks.
Benefits
---------
1. faster/frequent security update
2. less bloatware from T-mobile
Drawbacks
------------
1. Bank apps might not work due to unlock bootloader?
2. Lost of 4G/5G bands? T-mo 4G/5G bands are different than Global versions.
Both of your benefits are correct.
both of your drawbacks are INcorrect, you can relock your bootloader after switching and 5g works fine.
there pretty much are no drawbacks. Switch to global.

How are you getting 5G to work? I can't get T-Mobile my TMO/Global converted device to register on the T-Mobile network i.e. I get the "Sign in to network" notiification with no voice/data.

Strange I've never had to do anything. I get 5g instantly after converting without having to do anything at all. Maye take a look at your APN settings?

General Dual ESIM

Apple 13 series supports dual ESIM at same time. But even this new s22 ultra does not. Its very strange why such capable fone is limited by samsung in this way. Yesterday i tried but out of 2 esim only one can work at anytime. What a Bummer..
Never tried it, But that's a bummer indeed. I was thinking of converting both my sims to eSim and keep the roaming sim in physical slot always...
Sim plus esim work at the same time.
So on iphone you can have two or more active esims at the same time?
I had an iphone 13 pro max and I could only have 1 active ESIM so I had my SIM for travel and ESIM for domestic.

The 13 series allows 2 ESIM active at once. My 13 Pro works just fine that way.
