Possible to root? - Huawei Y7 (2017) Questions & Answers

Hey,
Is it possible to root trt-lx1? i tried all free one click apps but they don't work
I would prefer a root without unlocked bootloader but if its only possible with unlocking it its fine but i don't want to pay for it :/
Any way possible?
thanks

Guess not?

You cannot root a device without unlocking the bootloader first
Officially you can not unlock the bootloader of any Huawei device as Huawei shut down their bootloader unlocked code site claiming it will give users better stability user experience & security
Obviously that's all rubbish (with the exception of security in parts) & the real reason is they want full control over your device
Some older Huawei devices can be bootloader unlocked using old firmware before Huawei patched it to make the "hack" that allowed bootloader unlocking possible without their site - please search Google or look through the forum to see if this applies to your device (but you will probably need to downgrade firmware if that's possible)
This is also the likely reason why Huawei xda forums for this device is dead

How to unlock bootloader?

Hello! I've been looking desperately how to unlock my bootloader, and apparently, the official form got removed because of problems with inexperienced users.
How to unlock my bootloader, please?
Using Huawei Honor View 10 BKL-L09, EMUI 9
(I would also like to modify everything else, such as the EMUI if that's needed, but don't know how without unlocking the BOOTLOADER)
me, too.... i also don't know how to unlock.......
There are paid services that can unlock your bootloader. XDA doesn't allow linking to them, but I've used one myself and am pretty happy with it.
You'll need a Windows computer and some software (Teamviewer, HiSuite, etc.) though. The procedure 90% remote, though you may have to plug/unplug the phone when instructed to.

Root Verizon Pixel 2 on Android Q?

I am aware that there is already a thread for unlocking Bootloader on Android 8.1.0, but I tried the steps in that article and it unfortunately was unable to unlock my device. I bought my Pixel 2 secondhand, but because the OEM Unlocking toggle in Settings is grayed out and in the off position, I am led to believe that I have a Verizon model. I have an AT&T SIM card however. I also tried looking up how to downgrade my phone to the Google version of Android 8.1.0 but they all require that OEM Unlocking be turned on. Is there any updated guide on how to unlock the Bootloader for my phone so that I can possibly root it?
Not right now but there is an interesting vulnerability out right now.... I'd turn off updates for a little while incase something arises
Unlocking the bootloader is a totally different prospect than gaining root. Root can be obtained with an exploit, the recent one being a good example, but it will only be temporary. To make it permanent you need to unlock the bootloader. To unlock the bootloader you need yet another exploit for the bootloader since all the refurbished models appear to be unable to use the factory unlock process. Combine that with low demand for a two year old device and odds are it will never happen unless Google itself provides a solution. In short, I wouldn't hold my breath or leave a giant security hole on your device in hopes that it can be bootloader unlocked in the future. If you need a device that can be bootloader unlocked, go to Google and buy one.

Agreed

Not always true, there have been many roots that didn't require bootloader unlock. Towel root comes to mind also many sunshine roots and countless others.
***To make it permanent you need to unlock the bootloader.
It helps a lot but see above....

I don't want to buy a other phone..... The first one I bought was supposed to be unlockable. I'll deal or hope. The security hole really doesn't worry me at the moment. I won't leave it open permanent.
After thinking about it, the a/b partition may throw a serious monkey wrench in the full root issue.
Is there a way then to root my Android without turning on OEM Unlocking? My limited research on this makes me conclude that there's no such method for the Google Pixel 2.
Right now there is a temp root.

Would you be able to provide a link on how to do a temporary root on the Pixel 2?
I believe if you read the whole thread one person said it worked on the p2.
Careful though, change system they say it bricks the phone.

What does it mean to say bootloader is locked?

Upto this point, what I understand is that the OEMs hold keys that they use to sign the binaries as trusted such that only what they sign will be accepted and rest others will be rejected. Well, some devices I see can simply unlock using fastboot flashing unlock command when OEM Unlocking option is turned on in developers mode, however, some devices such as the ones from Xiaomi require their own special software to unlock the bootloader which they say is to prevent attackers from stealing the phone data. Well, one can easily flash firmware from Xiaomi without unlocking the bootloader. How do they do that? Does their proprietay software use some kind of keys that sign the firmware files? If so, do you know if it would be possible to replace the keys they use to sign.
Android's user data at any time can get stolen by hackers: here it doesn't matter whether device's bootloader is locked or unlocked.
Most of the Android devices comes to the market with a locked bootloader. Locking the bootloader is actually a kind of encryption of the Android system files. OEMs / carriers do so to keep the OS unaltered by the users. And this for good reasons, IMO. One have to respect
that their devices will be restricted to running software ROMs provided only by them.
To re-flash a phone's Stock ROM phone's bootloader must not be unlocked, because the OS is the original one , means not altered in any way by user.

In need of a root Huawei

Hello,
As my title states I need a Huawei device currently in the market that allows me to root it. I dont mind If I have to pay for unlocking the bootloader as long as the job can be done.
I already tried rooting a P10 using the short pin methoth to unlock its bootloader. While BL was unlocked I was not able to proceed with root due to its up-to-date security patch ( I guess). I have also a Y9 2019 and an Honor 8X which botloader unlock method was not existing (again, I guess).
What devices are you suggesting?
AFAIK Huawei already in 2018 has stopped permission of boot-loader unlocking.

Hi jwoegerbauer, thank for your reply.
Thats true but I have seen several work arounds. Maybe one specific model can be easier to unlock than others.

Unlocking BootLoader for POT-LX1

Hello so, i have Huawei P Smart 2019 (POT-LX1)
I've heard that Huawei Disabled unlocking bootloaders.
Will there be a way to unlock bootloader for cheap and not paying like $60-$100 for some ****ty dongles that might work.
Remember the good old days when to unlock bootloaders would cost like $3-$4, for samsung tho.
So yeah. do you think there will be a cheap or even free way to unlock the bootloaders?
Couse i really want to unlock my bootloader on my Huawei so i can root it with magisk, if it'll work of course.
To root a phone's Android it's not required phone's bootloader got unlocked before. Only requirement is that AVB gets disabled before.
