How is the battery life?

i want to know if Z3 has good battery life..

Its insane lol Iam coming from a htc one and this easily lasts double what i got from the htc! Now i have adjusted my settings to help with battery life, I always do when i get a new phone. I turn alot of stuff off that aint being used and only turn them on if need be! None the less this is by far the best battery life i have ever experienced from a phone! It also drains consistently where as with the htc it used to drop from 100 - around 96 within a few minutes and then when it got to 30 it seemed to suddenly start draining faster! I took this off charge at 100 and left in standby for over 4 or 5 hours and it was still at 100%

I had great battery life when I first got mine. Since I updated the software, it's tanked.
I have repaired and factory reset it and i've optimised everything with battery savings, but went from 8 hours SOT and two day battery to around 6 screen on and at about 20% when I go to bed after one day.
HTC One M8 gave me around 6 hours screen on time, and lasted a day and a half.
Hoping this sorts itself out, as the screen temperature issue, speaker notification volume, and now battery life, is not enough to of justified my jumping ship :/ (Even though I really wanted it because it's waterproof) lol.
All that said, the battery life even now is excellent still.

It's not that good as some people say but still ok. I would say that maybe 20-30% better than htc one m8. This means that you can easily go through the work day but if you would be go out after the work day (partying) you would be a bit worried if the battery lasts.

I have hight demand about battery life but I'm also happy with Z3 dual. I wish it can be charge ( much ) faster by microUSB port, best could be about 2 hours.

I am actually disappointed by the battery. It's down to 80% after just an hour and a half with medium usage. How is it going to last 2 days like that? Don't know if my phone is a faulty device or I am doing something wrong. It's charging now, I will put up some screenshots if it's still bad. Everything else is perfect so the battery being bad (which should be the best thing with this phone) is making me sad :/

Sadly no. I'm only on WIFI and the brightness is on half and auto. I haven't gone a full day with this phone yet so I will let the battery go down to zero and take a screenshot before that to see if the results are really that bad or just like everyone else

I charged my when i first got it since i unplugged at 20:00 its now 22:13 the next day with heavy use im at 46%

First charge and use,
Been unplugged for about 9.5 hours. A lot of whatsapp usage today. Battery life currently sitting at 65%. About half LTE and half WiFi.
This is a lot better than my Samsung S4, but not sure how it compares to other users.

I'm actually curious if anyone has compared the z2 and z3 battery performance in real world usage with the same usage pattern? Which has the longer sceen on time and standby time etc.

Nothing special

Could anyone tell me if this looks right? Is it good or bad? I didn't charge it overnight so ~10 hours are included in which I didn't use the phone.

Here's my battery usage the first day after I got it (charged up to full overnight before starting to use):

Summary: 13.5 hours on battery, leaving me with 6%, with 8h43m+ screen on time and 3+ hours of music. Coming from a Nexus 4, I'm very very happy.

I'm struggling to get 4 hours of screen time before it dies after less than a day. No apps at all hogging the battery or anything like that.
Standby battery seems to be awful, even with stamina mode on blocking everything other than facebook messenger and gmail. It's losing 1% an hour, which doesn't sound bad, but my Galaxy Note 3 was draining 1% every three hours on both stock rom and Cyanogen 11. Moto G 2014 similarly does around 1% every 2-3 hours.
Standby for the most part should be represented by an almost perfectly straight line in battery stats, but on the Z3 its a constant curve downwards, much like the standby battery bug in the OnePlus One.
I'm in a full 4 bar LTE area as well, so it's not poor signal doing the damage.
The strangest of all, is the first day I had the phone it managed to get me through 2 full days easily. That included 8 hours of music streaming over bluetooth each day, and 4 hours screen time. Yesterday I was just over 3 hours screen time after 17 hours, and it was on 6% battery, including the 8 hours or so music streaming. That is exceptionally poor compared to both the Note 3 and Moto G.
But who knows, maybe disabling all the bloatware is causing issues. Either way I'll have a replacement device from amazon tomorrow which hopefully wont have the screen issues or bluetooth/wifi dropouts (thoguh I suspect that is software related).

I had z2 so will offer comparison on battery. It does last longer than z2 by approx 20-30%, on my usual usage with z2 I was at approx 15% remaining by end of the day, with the z3 I'm at about 35%ish.
Heavy use and relatively bright screen.

This is my first day, mainly wi-fi, should be 18hrs 30m sot for a full charge.
Been out and about today, so wi-fi and mobile data and battery life should work out about 13 hours sot time.

Truly amazing stats! Beats the crap out of my "battery monster" Oukitel K6000 Pro who can only reach ~9h SOT on a daily basis. (100% to 15%)

so far best battery life phone I had

Almost 6 days on a smartphone is just ridiculous ?
Mine lasts about 2-3 days but my SOT time is about 14-18 hours over that time.

^This is much even for P2 bro...Do you read ebooks all the time? Not gaming or downloading stuff via 4G? The average SOT for P2 is ~9-10h.

I would say average is more like 15 hours based on own usage. Over several days. 9-10 only and we have problems in my opinion. Some kind of drain.

Or just an hour or two of gaming. The average for me is 12h SOT, from 100℅ to 15℅ with 2h gaming for over 3 days on a single charge.

just curious at which value you ALL people....setted the luminosity.
i think you set it at leadt at 35/40/50% or it's a non sense to let us know a GREAT sot.... but with a such dim display almost unusable by 80% of people.....
however i'm very envious of your sot... i recently bought a RN3P and it's ok..... but i was undecided between it and p2, but p2 hassomething i really hate.... buttons on display
if lenovo had done the p2 with classic 3 capacitive buttons....... it would be my actual phone.
however i'm really temped to sell my phone and get this.... i themed mine with substratum .. all BLACK..... i know amoled display like p2 would save A LOT of power..... mmmm

the P2 is not without it`s glitches (as most phones) but the battery is a big advantage,I go out with the battery at 50% all day knowing the phone will not run out of charge (on previous phones I always carried a powerbank)
This phone is IMO excellent value for the price.

After nougat update many bugs are solved. Battery remains great

70% auto brightness, wifi and data on all the time, about 60% of time wifi was my main connection

15h is easily achievable with lower brightness, good network connection and no intensive/background apps. The people getting 18h+ who don't show power drain profile i question. Also, I've noticed my stats don't reset if i do a brief charge. Or i could plug in a low current trickle charge from a computer usb. Would look like very slow power drain but i could post u some crazy stats! The most important stat really is the minimum SoT. If you run full brightness as I have been, with a bit of everything, you will get minimum of 11-12h SoT. Still going through a charge now, so will post final stats tomorrow. But 2d+ use, and 12h SoT with maxed settings doing whatever i like is epic from a fast smart phone!!!

I'm pretty heavy user, no gaming though. Apart from regular calling and messaging, I browse a lot, lot of music, every imaginable form of social media and hours of music, I get an average of 14-16 hours of SOT.
The only problem is with Hike messenger (most probably the app's fault), the SOT reduces by almost half. With below average Hike usage, the SOT I can squeeze out 8-9 hours barely.
Edit: WiFi or Jio 4G always on 24 hours a day. Brightness is manual.

Could probably push 20h SOT with only wifi, 2G, auto sync, gps etc. disabled.

Battery life

Hi. I've pre ordered the moto one vision yesterday, basicly out of curiosity about a moto running on Samsung Exynos 9609 soc.
I have a motorola one already which is built on Qualcomm msm8953 and battery is great on that device.
How's the battery holding up on Moto One Vision, concidering it only has a 3500 mAh battery and a 6"+ screen, 48MP cam etc?
I kind of feel like the battery is a bit undersized for this device, but I may be wrong.
Please comment about your battery experience below, or fill in with questions about battery.

Fully charged yesterday, today still i have 81%

After the first charging: 5,5h SOT and still about 22% was avalible. Not bad.

i bought it last Friday, charged twice since then, i have an impression of battery drain, but i think it's because i just use it more often, just like every phone while it's new

Battery Life Opinion
I just bought Motorola One Vision, but I´m concerned about battery life (while waiting for the cell phone to be delivered for me). I saw some reviews tellign that battery life is poor , and some telling that battery life is OK (1 day - 20 hours - normal use). Can anyone tell me if for a normal user like me that don´t play games in the cell phone, just use social networks, and a little of youtube the battery lasts at least from 6 AM to 11 PM? (my normal daily use)? I´m in doubt since there are people telling the battery life is good (one day and a half) and some people are telling that battery lasts only 6 to 10 hours. Which one is true? If someone have a trusted review, please share.

I've had the One Vision for 3 weeks now and have no problems with battery life.
I get around 6-7 hours of SOT.
I 'm what you would call a normal user like yourself.

Battery seems drain fast took of charger 100% 6:45am took couple photos in garden checked FB/ Twitter emails 7:10am 93% , this could boil down to fact it's had one full charge over night since getting and may settle etc in few days this is with latest update with June security , hope future updates can improve battery and camera

Just got a Vision One, after sporting a G5s + for the past 3years.
Wheras i could still get 2days of use out of my G5s+ , i have the impression the Vision just drains really fast. Maybe i'm just using it more because it's new ? I don't really have that impression though.

I'm considering getting either the 'Moto G7 plus' or 'Moto One vision' .
At first I thought I was going down the 'Vision' route due to 'better specs' - until I started reading about 'poor battery drain' despite having a 3500mAh battery
My current phone 'only' has a 3000Mah with 5.2" screen that with my [very] light usage it'll last the day with still ~35-50% battery left over (depending if I get bored @ work & play a game or 2)
I mainly only have phone for emergency, some occasional game playing (subway surfer etc - no 3d intensive gaming) & music listening (not into watching videos on a phone or social media usually) - so 'screen on' time is usually pretty low - & would also like to hear 'real life' reviews of how long the battery does last

I've it for one month and for me the battery usage is ok. I go to work at 7 am, and I put it on charge at 10 pm with 40~30% of battery which for my use is ok. I noticed that if I play a game for 40 min or play a video for around 30~40 minutes the battery is at 10% at 10 pm. So my verdict is that for a user that don't play games/watch videos a lot, the battery can stand a day and ends up with 40%, but if you like to play then maybe you should consider another option.. My guess is that the battery drain is due to the screen... The good points are the screen is very good and Android is very fast and good (I had a Samsung A50 before).

Yeah sort of guessed the screen may play a big part in battery drain... Larger Screen needs more power to display,
Those that check their Twitbook accounts ever few minutes may be the ones that complain about fast battery drain the most, although I have seen some personnal reviews about battery loss overnight when left alone

For me it's ok drive regardless of the battery % at night I always charge it overnight, so it's fine for my use.

My phone has SOT (at 63% birghtness) around 5-6 hours and with normal usage it lasts about two days.
But I'd recommend having a charger nearby. After 40-ish hours I still had 25-30% battery.

Yeah Im having a same experience as you ,5 to 6 hours of SOT is typically what I get when using wifi,lop off an hour when using LTE though.

Note 20 Ultra (Exynos) poor battery life

Anyone here have any tips to increase the battery life of my Note 20 Ultra? Barely get 3.5 hours of SoT despite being a medium power user. Just scrolling through social media and watching youtube. Shouldn't that get me way more SoT than what I currently experience?

Use the function to let the apps go in deep sleep, this will give the battery a big boost, another good thing to do is a full factory reset, I'm getting in between 6-8 hours a day in battery life. (I'm on the android 11 beta though)

I tried the first option already. I also did a factory reset like 3 times. I even sent my device for repair but they couldn't find any issues and it peformed to Samsung standards according to the repair service.
Yet I still average 3.5 hours SoT with below medium usage.

Sold that garbage phone. Now got the Find X2 Pro and I'm getting 6 hours SoT on the first charge with the same usage.

Give the battery some time to optimize. After 3 to 4 weeks the battery has improved on a daily basis. I constantly get around 6 to 8 hours SoT with a full day's use (over 20 hours total usage including spotify background usage of around 2 hours). Over the weekend from morning to evening on the phone, I got 11 hours SoT - 16 hours total usage - mostly streaming netlix and youtube and doing nothing else with the phone. Phone on medium power saving, which is more than what I need for my usage (emails, lots of streaming netflix & youtube, calls etc.). If you do gaming, you should try to leave battery saving on optimized.

Also noticed that same battery tech used in note 10 plus. Friends of mine who use that phone still get amazing battery life after a full year of use. They also saw noticeable battery improvement from after one month of full use. No idea why this happens. Also I exchanged my first one because of the battery issue after 3 weeks of use. With the replacement I gave it a full month and saw a huge improvement!!!

I sold my Note 20 Ultra a few days ago and bought the Oppo Find X2 Pro and on the first day 5-6 hours SoT and now on average 6-7 hours. **** Samsung.

On standby took 3 days no charge. On 4th beta.

I also sold mine exynos... Wlan is okay but if you outdoors and use mobile data (5g off!) the phone cant hold its Charge. Its an amazing phone (looks nice, feels nice, fast, but a little hotter than other phones wich is okay... But if i must charge two times a day... Yes tried factory reset, Medium battery save,debloatin...) its sad that Samsung has gone with this bad exynos...

Surprisingly, despite having google play services at the top of my battery usage and running constantly, I'm surprised how good this is on Exynos. Think I seem to have hit the golden trade off between usage and settings. Had 22 hours standby, 3 hours screen on and approximately 45% battery left. Had 18 hours standby and 6 hours screen on the day following. Adaptive power kicks in at around 11pm and seems to be a very good trade off. No noticeable slowdown whatsoever.

I read somewhere that the adaptive battery setting actually makes the battery life worse for some users (i guess this is subjective). Have you run the phone without adaptive battery saving?

On my 10+ running on Pie the only power setting is for the display/cpu power mod, Optimize.
Any other power management screws up functionality and increases battery consumption.
I simple close apps when done, sometimes not even that.
All buckets show as active; Android automatically handles them; no 3rd party power management needed.
Actually solving excessive battery use takes a lot more effort than flipping the Device Care toggles which if active only complicates the task of finding the hogs, causing excessive power usage as well as causing unpredictable behavior with apks. This doesn't show up immediately but over a course of days it seems.
Only fast charging is toggled.
Eventually all 3rd power management apps cause conflicts with the native Android system as far as I have observed.
Just feel good junk that causes problems rather than fixes them.
One may have been part of the cause of a boot loop that cost me 2 back to back reloads...

I was able to hold 2 days with my use (it was incredible, with my s10 I held 24h).
And, then, last update...
And now, in one night of sleep 25-30% of drain ??? Oo
What is that Samsung ? Are you aware like u destroy ur product with this... especially when you advertise about the terrific battery life of the s10 plus ?

I had my S10+ that ever had bad battery life, my s21+ looks like is much better, having 25% of drain in standby means there is an app that is causing that, when you talk about your last update, you should explain which version of firmware do you have now.

My T-Mo USA S21+ gets really great battery life. No change with the latest (AUAG) USA firmware. My S10 got very good battery life (24 Hrs +) but the S21+ (so far) gives me 2 days with MANY hours of screen on time.
Here's a partial dump of a discharge to 10%:

I'm using the exynos variant. I bought the phone on 13th Feb. The battery life is really realty bad for a 4800mah device. I was getting a expecting a decent battery life. But I'm getting like 4.5hrs SOT for 10.5 hours usage which is like half of what snapdragon verison is giving. This sucks. Should have waited for op9pro. Made a huge mistake.!!

Did you use it 60hz refresh rate ? This is insane battery life . I'm getting nowhere near this !!

I'm getting 2h SOT if I'm lucky, on AUB9.
Really wondering where those big differences between different users come from...

No, that is with Adaptive Motion Smoothness (120Hz) turned on.
I thought maybe my AOD was adding too much Screen On time, giving me a very misleading value, so in one of the tests I made i just played a few movies, and I still got hours and hours of battery life. I have no idea why there is such a variance.
Edit: So I thought of two things to mention. I run my screen brightness at about 35%. If you run yours much higher, that could effect your results significantly. If you use your phone outside a lot and it's set to automaticly adjust its brightness, that could set the screen brighness very high (for when you're outside). Also, I have bluetooth turned off.
2nd Edit: I ran another test last night and I'm surprised to report that there was no significant difference at full screen brightness versus my normal 35% brightness. I had Netflix playing for 3 hours at normal brightness followed by 3 hours at full brightness and the slope of the battery level curve is essentially the same. I'm at a lost to explain this as well as it's been my experience that screen brightness significantly affects power usage.

I use it outside about 2 hrs a day. That too usage. Only for changing the song. Nothing more . I use dual sim .listen to music atleast 1 hour a day via Bluetooth. Even then what you are getting is truly amazing.

I did some tests the other night and much to my surprise turning up the screen from my usual 35% to full didn't make much of a difference.
I'm in the habit of using the "Close all" function in the recent apps screen almost all the time. Maybe that makes a difference?

I'm trying all the scenarios to reach that level of battery life but I go out for atleast 3 hrs a day. So I use my phone in mobile data as well. That also contribute. Yeah closing all applications all the time prevent unnecessary background process. That may actually help in apps like Twitter and Instagram.

Here is the latest I have managed . I removed one of the sim and used carefully . This is the best I have managed so far. But again, I use it outdoors with mobile internet for atleast an hour of screen time. 3 hours of outdoor usage . I'm still not sure if it's a good battery life but I will take it.

As a new S21+ owner I can say that I have had great battery life so far consistently getting 7.5-8 sot. This is with the latest march update.

Hi. Looking at your screenshot, it seems you are using an Indian variant. I do not want to get into specifics, but Indian networks are far more congested compared to other countries. So the modem has to work 4 times as hard compared to say the US. Also, dual sims nearly halve the standby time. So the usage you have is fine and I wouldnt worry too much about it.

Have anyone tried disable auto optimize app daily and disable adaptive battery.
Some say it really improve the battery on the previous samsung gen. I'm going to try it. And report to all of you guys.
Just came up to xda to search about anything related to battery and didn't find the solution yet.
Sometime I got a good battery like about 6 hours sot. The other day it just to bad only around 4 hours. It seems auto optimize overreacting to apps and make it closed and open daily causing a worst battery live. And the adaptive battery just seems not good at all in some report.

My best so far today, 10h of SoT doing mostly multimedia stuff. Exynos, 4G, 60Hz, April update. No power saving mode.

Im currently trying out power saving mode at 120hz . I will let you know if this works.
