Check this video out and you will understand why the fingerprint sensor on the Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus fails to register or stop working when you put on a tempered glass protector on it.
Here is why your Samsung S10 and S10 Plus Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor stops working when you put on a tempered glass
Mod Edit

This has nothing to do with tempered glass. They don't work because they aren't bonded to the screen. That's why using an adhesive, like Whitestone, will allow it to work

Whitestone dome glass doesn't work for me.

Whitestone dome doesn't work for me . I followed all the instructions and got all the updates, enable touch sensitivity, re-registered thumbprints and etc, my hit rates with the whitestone dome glass is less than 50%. Its frustrating. Also it is incredibly hard to get a hold of their support team.

Yes I saw that video, but frankly are they expecting me to remove my glass and redo this based on their new instructions? I think for everyone who are not getting the results they were expecting, should be given a new kit in which they would follow these updated instructions.
My whitestone dome glass has been installed for over a week and removing the glass to redo the install on used tempered glass doesn't sound promising.

Did you notice that Whitestone does not work 50% of the time? Some users stated that theirs work while many others states that it does not work.
Have you wondered why if a simple uv glue can solve this why there are failures in fingerprint recognition?

On YouTube, agreed and on a single press while filming, but if you check galaxys10 subreddit you will see many people have issues as well. You can also check their amazon reviews, it doesn't look pretty.

What is the best screen protector for s10 fingerprint work

A 1 week later i bought a tempered glass fingerprint work from ebay and is not good.it has already slipped off the edges and the imprint goes very rarely and hard.do you use some protective foil or glass that goes the imprint and can you recommend it to me?
Hi,
For me no protection is far better than all other solution (also dom glass)
The general expérience is far better (touch feeling, colour, reflectance,...)
But you need to be more careful with your phone (avoid keys or sands contact and clean it every day with soft Cloth ). For me after 1 month like this I have no scratch or other things.

Yes. I believe you. but I am not very careful I drop them a lot on foot. i think cornimg gorilla glass 6 is very ok and does not break so fast or scratch but yet ..
the biggest problem is that i don't find what global firmware to put because it is taken from amercia the snapdragon version and i don't have the language of my region because it is taken from verizon. could you help me?
Sorry but no.
Buy armfim screen protector
Better than white dome and finger print actually working.
Hi,
The better I've tested since now is LK screen protector.
No change in colour and touch feeling and also seem to be more protective than OEM one (auto repair scratch).
I try this for 2 days now with an OEM leather case and so far so good the feeling is pretty good in hand (better than hell classical TPU case....) and descent protection .

I m looking and i don t found...
I am using Invisible Shield Ultra Clear and it works great.
I replaced my broken Whitestone with the Mocolo UV nanoptics. It costs about the 1/4 of the Whitestone and it works and feels exactly the same. That means that the fingerprint reader works at about its 85-90% of its original cabability.
Any new cheap glass protectors on the market? I'm looking for something full adhesive edge to edge. FPS compatibility is not too critical but if it works without applying UV glue that would be great.
I ended up avoiding fingerprint unlock because it never works on the first try with my screen protector. That's the only thing I don't like about this device
Been using the apiker film for a week or so, 4 for $10 or whatever. Had an alignement jig, i wasn't super careful about cleaning, should've installed in the bathroom. Works really well, no problem with finger print. There's two spots on each side where it has popped up a little from taking my case on and off a feew times.
Just ordered the johncase tempered from Amazon, has the little uv light, pack of two for $15. See what happens.
My fps works correctly at least 9 times out of 10. I just registered my most frequently used finger, the right thumb, two times. One when it was completely dry and one more time when it was wet. Now I rarely loose a scanning.

Got a tempered glass protector but can't get rid of the white edges

Even with that oil that ships with some protectors: I apply it, it does seem to get between the protector and the screen, but after some hours, and normal usage, I end up pushing it back out and getting that ugly white edge on some parts... is there any solution for this?
Re-applyinmg does not seem to work: I've already applied one entire bottle and, after 3 weeks, I still keep having the same issue....
Don't push it out? Zero issues here.

It gets pushed out by itself from normal use, being inside my pocket or just sticking it to my ear when making calls...
Try the glass from *******.
Its a simple thing to be resolved. Either apply mineral oil to the "white edges" or apply UV loca and then cure it with UV light. If you wish to read more just google chinese sites with the keywords "
白边“ and use google translate to read more on it
found it!
It's from amazon, they are recognizable by the fact that those always have a "frame" to help you perfectly place it because it's a tempered glass that doesn't have disgusting white edge air gab and black gameboy border....

You can find some picture from me in the review section
The only disadvantage is that you have a margin around the tempered glass, but it doesn't mater if you use a case (else why protecting your screen only? as the main break come from corner).
at least i can finally enjoy this georgous screen.
This is by far the best tempered glass i used for this phone. Comes with installation frame so it's always a perfect fit

Do you by any chance use a cover with this?
I got some tempered glass for my mom's phone, but using a cover would push the glass off the screen.
Or at least make it lose contact around the edges.
I got two words for you - olive oil.

Question Whitestone protector

Greetings all. I received my S22 Ultra yesterday and of course, began the setup process. I had already put the Whitestone protector before I started. The problem began when trying to setup the biometrics. The fingerprint sensor wouldn't register my prints no matter what I did. So I removed the first glass and registered my prints without the glass and it went smoothly. So I put the second protector on and did an extra long curing of the adhesive, more than 6 minutes. I was able to get one print registered, barely. Has anyone else had the same issue, and if you did, were you able to correct it? Please let me know. Thank you all in advance for the responses.
I was looking at the reviews on it a couple days ago and it looks like a lot of people have had this issue. I bought a glass protector from a different brand and it works but it's not 100% perfect :-(
I bought this, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09P84TTH9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 cheaper and sort of the same method. No issue with the fingerprint reader. Was very easy to apply as well my first with this type of protector
I just installed mine and I had to remove all of my fingerprints and re-did the process as usual and my fingerprint reader works like if there is no screen protector on it with the whitestone protector
Ratings on Amazon.ca: 5 stars - 36%, 1 star - 50%
The Mowei 3 pack seems to be a good alternative.
Still thinking which is the best protector for the S22 Ultra. I'm thinking of getting Whitestone but I am a bit worried about the liquid adhesive. When removing it, any residue?
I made a post over on reddit going in depth about one that really impressed me.

I've used Whitestone for many years. Never a problem with the glue. Can be a bit of a trick installing and need to make sure the case isn't touching. They remove just fine. I was going to use another one but read of many problems people were having with them and decided to go with another LOCA type. I went with https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1&pldnSite=1 we'll see how it goes.

I've used White stone for many years and they work pretty good and warranty claim are easy but the cost for them just keeps going up and up. I found my self going back to tpu screen protector (https://amzn.to/3LZnsJO) as they are so easy to install. Better to get a case with a good lip for fall protection and tpu screen protector for scratch prevention. Still you can't go wrong with Whitestone.

I installed mine yesterday, fingerprints works fine, what I did was after the first cure I put my finger on the fingerprint reader and press for around 30 seconds and then used the uv lamp for 2 minutes staring from the bottom then center and top.
If you don't mine, look in youtube for s22 ultra whitestone dome glass. And watch Josh quiñonez video.

I didn't have any residue that couldn't be removed with more than just an alcohol wipe, they usually come off really cleanly as long as it stays intact.

Wet applications are very forgiving, but this dry with the template to guide make it near impossible to screw up. So fast to apply.

Accessories Whitestone Dome & Fingerprint Sensor

Has anyone else had a problem with using the sensor after applying the Whitestone glass screen protector? Is there a way to install it to make this better?
You should reregister your fingerprints after installing any screen protector. + you can turn on touch sensivity. (under display settings)
I noticed after going from my Spigen screen protector (had a glass feel but is a soft film) to the Whitestone Dome Glass on my S22 Ultra, I definitely have to press down harder (pretty firmly and no real wiggling of the thumb seems to work best) and use more full on thumb to get it to register properly. It takes ever so slightly longer to register and unlock for me than compared to the Spigen protector, but I do like the Whitestone Dome Glass more overall.
Putting on the WSD had no impact at all on my FP sensor. It was a bit finicky before and exactly the same after. I had found before I put the WSD on that it is 100% perfect every time if I moisten my thumb. Same after the WSD. With a dry thumb, most times it gives me the message "Cover the entire sensor" or "Press harder".
Things I did to help avoid any further degradation after install. During installation, pressed on the sensor area for about 30 seconds after the first cure and just before 2nd cure. Re-register prints after the WSD install. Set touch sensitivity on. Registered my thumb twice. After the install the FPS was exactly the same as before the install so no impact I can see. It is just that this FPS does not like dry prints. Moisten and many people find it works perfectly. I have found that I don't actually have to wet or lick my thumb, just breathing on it once is enough.
Because I generally use face ID to unlock, the FP is not a big deal to me. When I use an app like banking or Google Pay that require FP unlock, I do the breath on the thumb first and it usually works immediately.
4 - Fix Fingerprint ExperienceGo to Settings, Biometrics and security, more biometrics settings:
- Turn off "Show unlock transition effect"
Go to Settings, Biometrics and security, fingerprints:
- Turn on "Fingerprint always on"
- Turn off "Show animation when unlocking"
- Set battery usage to "Unrestricted" for "com.samsung.android.biometrics.app.setting".
- Disable app optimizations for "com.samsung.android.biometrics.app.setting".

Next to redoing the scanning of the prints, I find that having to dry skin affects it often. See if handcream or just moisten the finger a very little helps.

Yes, as has been described before, I find just breathing on my thumb is enough to make it work perfectly every time.
A tip I learned a while ago was when I first cure using the uv light and remove it from the jig is to gently press down where the fingerprint scanner is before 2nd curing which in my experience certainly helps.

My first install was a complete dud as the fingerprint scanner didn't work at all, even after registering. I tried pressing down on the scanner on my 2nd install and while it worked better, it still only worked about 30% of the time after registering my prints again.
Unfortunately I'm sending my protectors back to Amazon for a refund as neither install method worked for me.
I guess the powers that be at Android are catching on to this. I just got an unsolicited system message with a few suggestions to make the fingerprint sensor work better. The last one on the list was to "try moisturizing" your fingertip. lol! Guess there is not a software fix for this coming anytime soon.
Hi guys, my film is slightly chipped on one side, it doesn't bother using it, do I still have to replace it with another one or do I leave it like this?
visually it doesn't bother me but it worries me about protection if I accidentally take a hit.

I personally, can not withstand chipped or cracked screen protectors, as soon as a crack or dent appears, I take the protector off, as it has already worked by absorbing the damage, but that is my opinion…

Question Is there any Glass Screen Protector that can read fingerpring for these phones?

We have S21+ and S22+, we tried several glass screen protectors that are "guaranteed" (by their sellers of course) to work with fingerprint readers. None do. I follow all installation instructions, remove the stored finters, try to re-learn them. It just does not work.
What is it in the S21/S22 (and perhaps other models) that make fingerprint reader not working with glass screen protector?
Is there something 'special' that needs to be done, or is there any glass screen protector that the fingerprint reader actually works with?
Thanks.
I had the same problem with my s21 plus. Went through a few protectors before i realized the phone came with one already installed. Its very thin easy to miss. Take that off and any standard protectors should work.

No way! I am just seeing this now, or what looks like a protector that is glued fairly well, after reading your reply. Unbelievable. This is the first place I see any mentioning of this.
Do you remember if this is a glass or a soft/vinyl protector by any chance?
Cant remember. Just know it was hard to see.
S21+ ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is against oneplus 9 optical fingerprint scanner ,
I came from oneplus 9 , it's fingerprint scanner works very well with any type of protector , but s21+ scanner isn't working properly with glass or jelly sheet.
So I've to use face( also does not work 90%) or pin .
