Case with Screen Protector Possible? - Samsung Galaxy S10 Accessories

I had a previous case with a screen protector built in for my S9+ and it worked great, but I'm having issues now. I found this one:
Case with Protector, but it says not compatible with fingerprint ID. I assume this is because of the fingerprint built into the screen?
Does anyone know of a case that has a screen protector AND works with the fingerprint reader? Or is the built in protector not possible due to the fingerprint reader in the screen now?

I would assume no built in screen protectors will work..in order for the FPS to work, the screen protector has to basically be attached to the screen with zero air gap between phone and protector..

One of my friend used Gadgetshieldz case fit screen protector and he used many third party cases. Those fits are really great But I've ordered normal screen protector from them, waiting to order case fit once they released.

and this was on the S10+?

For screen protector I would go with whitestone dome. For me it acts the same as if I had the preinstalled samsung film. I would then go on amazon and check out reviews and questions for whitestone dome. People tend to post their comparable cases. I am using the UAG Monarch and it fits without a problem.

I HIGHLY recommend the Whitestone protectors. The adhesive makes them SUBSTANTIALLY more chip/crack resistant and the touch sensitivity is light years ahead of other protectors (like ZAGG). It was my go-to on Note and now S10+.
I am a minimalist and finally found a case that's thin but also adds SOME protection. TORRAS on Amazon. The hard plastic has a matte finish, amazing touch and feel but little protection. The silicone option is thin, has ridges to protect camera and screen but slides in pants and pockets easily. It DOES offer drop protection relatively.

I actually just picked up the TORRAS Slim on Amazon, not sure if it's the same one you have. Currently I'm using the Spigen Rugged Armor... but it's too thin in my opinion. I feel like if I drop my phone, I have little protection. Otterbox Commuter and Skinomi TechGlass Review

Just going to give a quick review on the Otterbox Commuter case and the Skinomi TechGlass Tempered Glass Screen Protector!
I'll hit the case first.
If you've ever had an Otterbox Commuter case before there is nothing more to read because it is again more of the same. I previously ventured away from the defender series once I got my Droid Razr Maxx and have not looked back. The Commuter offers great protection without all the bulk and is much easier to slide in and out of the pocket. Compared to my Seidio Active (Dilex now) that I had on my Droid DNA it has more plastic surface area but I also feel as though this provides a little more protection. That may just be something I think personally but it is what it is. The silicon underneath seems to have a nice thick structure to it and also has a nice "spring" to it around the corners that I also believe helps in protecting the phone. As usual Otterbox includes a plastic screen protector that was ok but if I am going to use a plastic screen protector I prefer a wet application one such as the ones provided by Xtremeguards (which I also use to protect the back of the phone). The buttons work well and the headphone port cover is very easy to disengage and also stays in place very well. There is no cut out for the fingerprint scanner which can make it some what awkward to use but thats no big deal to me personally. The IR blaster and heart rate monitor function flawlessly with this case on.
The Skinomi TechGlass is the first tempered glass screen protector I've ever used. I ordered the Mime Feather Tempered Glass protector but still has not arrived due to problems with USPS. I decided to order the Skinomi one on a whim because I really wanted to get some solid protection on this phone and in a hurry. Needless to say I am very impressed with the Skinomi screen protector. It is slightly thicker at .33 mm but it is an absolute joy to use with the phone. It feels just like the screen does and the Commuter case covers the edges of the TechGlass perfectly. The TechGlass does not extend all the way to the edges of the phone but that is not a huge deal to me as it is rounded and doesn't feel out of place at all(edit: It almost goes all the way to the edges. Maybe 1mm on the top from the edge and about .5mm or less from the bottom and sides.). Application was surprisingly easy. It may just be because I over prepped for it after failing with many plastic screen protectors but it was not difficult at all. I personally cleaned the screen with a cleaning spray, a microfiber cloth, an alcohol pad, the included cleaning cloth, and the anti-dust film. All together this process took less than two minutes and after that the TechGlass was placed on the phone. I had 0 bubbles and the TechGlass went on almost perfectly. There was some strange marking and discoloration but nothing severe and they went away after several hours. I followed the same process for my wife's phone and actually had to lift the TechGlass a couple of times. It still adhered to the phone perfectly. The same effects were on the edges of her protector but they also went away after several hours. These effects never bothered the image output by the screen though.
All in all I'd rate both of these products as a 5/5. Skinomi has a Lifetime Warranty on all of their protectors and I think it's a great investment at 14.99 with Prime shipping. The Commuter case is also well worth the money and Otterbox always stands by their products. I'll probably give Seidio and Incipio some money later on down the road because I also love them for the quality products they make!
TLDR: Commuter- Great case but more of the same. TechGlass- Awesome Awesome Awesome! Definitely a great purchase! Skinomi has a lifetime warranty and it was worth the few extra dollars over other tempered glass screen protectors.
I'm just concerned with that Skinomi being .33mm. I've currently got the .23 Spigen Glas Nano, and I can't imagine having a thicker protector. Does it begin to interfere with the fingerprint scanner at that gauge?

No it does not. I was able to very easily add a new fingerprint with the case off and unlock the phone with the case on. The case was the biggest limiting factor to the fingerprint scanner. At .33mm the TechGlass feels like it is almost perfectly flush with the home button.

What Plastic Screen Protectors are you using on the Note 4?

What Plastic Screen Protectors are you using on the Note 4? I'm under the notion that typical PET film is compatible with most cases.
I got the Zagg HDX screen protector and I'm pretty happy with it. I was hoping for tempered glass, but I don't think that's going to happen any time soon. The HDX protector was easy to install and it feels great. No issues with s-pen making divots or marks so far (been about a week of use).
INITIALLY... like immediately after you put it on, it feels a bit "sticky" when you run a finger over it. Just clean it off though and it's fine. Must be some residual "sticktion" from the films that cover the film prior to install.
+1 for the Zagg HDX. It's more expensive, but well worth it. The glass protectors look funky on this phone, and you can barely tell the Zagg is on there except for the somewhat sharp edge. I usually go without a protector, but the Note 4 is VERY scratchable... I had several light scratches in the coating that could only be seen in the right light only after a few days of use, so I had to get the protector.
I can rest-assure you its very hard not to get even the tiniest scratch on the shiny metal portions of the Note 4 especially the first time you put the phone in a case. When buying new, the device jostles while in transit, and I've seen scratches in areas where no one will see; that's just me.
Is the HDX as thin as one of those cheap plastic screen protectors found on eBay?
The HDX is a little thicker than the cheap ones. It's a multi-layer construction and provides impact resistance. It's still thin and flexible enough that it handles the slight curve at the edge of the screen and doesn't halo or anything. AND... I'm using the Samsung case and it works with that perfectly.
I'm currently using the iCarez film protector and it does not fit with my Seidio Surface case because it's too thick. Has a bubble in the lower left corner I can't get rid of and when I put the phone in my Akron Mega Grip car mount the side arms cause a large bubble on the left side. Not sure how thick it is but hoping for better results with the Zagg HDX which is 1 mm thick. Also don't like S Pen feel with the iCarez film.
I've been using Spigen Steinheil screen protectors since I first got a Motorola OG Driod. The Steinheil have always been durable and protective of my screens. I have a Spigen Steinheil Crystal screen protector on my Note 4. It works well and doesn't interfere with the native screen. They come 3 in a pack.
Zagg hdx until my iloome shows up

Best non glass S6 screen protector?

Are there any curved/wet install screen protectors that will fit round the curved edges of the S6 or is a glass one the way forward?
I am clumsy and outdoors lots so would want some proection and it seems a lot of the plastic protectors only just about cover the screen.
I was very satisfied with the Spigen non-glass screen protector. It covered almost all of the screen, which surprised me. I only took it off because I prefer glass protectors.
Spigen screen protectors leave gaps around the border. Not as much as glass sp. This is to accommodate "case friendly" design.

Not got the phone yet - was pre ordering bits! I don't mean the whole front of the phone. On the spigen website it shows the protector being slightly wider than the display, but review I read elsewhere seem to have it cut quite narrow and it barely covers the active part of the screen.
This is the Spigen plastic screen protector I ordered below. I always use a case and it covers most of the screen. There's a tiny gap, but I wasn't bothered by it.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QU4N0EI
A case option is the Spigen Ultra Hybrid FX case. Its the $17.99 option in the link below. It covers the entire phone (front, back, edges). Then you don't need a screen protector.

Reviews and photos of it: http://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/RT1Z3ENHAIQ8Z and http://www.amazon.com/gp/review/RDXA8F1JMNCI4
Below is a review of the case for an iPhone 6. It's in Japanese, but you get the idea. There's no S6 video review available.
Despite my comments in this thread, I'm not a Spigen fanboy LOL. I no longer use the Spigen screen protector (I have a no-name glass now) and I'm swapping my Spigen case for a Ringke Fusion.

Have the Fusion on my Nexus - pretty good but teh back is coming away from the sides now. Like the look of the Rinke slim though.
Got some Spigen ones, they are pretty close to the size of the screen. Have to be so careful to line it up properly! Shame they didnt make it that fraction bigger, but I guess that was not possible due to the screen curve.
Ordered spiegen ones too, from amazon, 2 protectors wtih shipping costed 16.70€ but i have always dreamed of getting rid of that thick and heavy tempered protector.... they really do add weight and thickness to phone, especially if you decide to put front and back tempered protectors

I was tryiing to find a 0.2mm glass one as the thread on here has that as the best one - but they donn't ship to UK
They're hard to find, I've seen a few on ebay.com but there are some glass protectors that will cover almost all of the phone. They're the ones that go over the buttons with a pass-through for the fingerprint sensor/home button. They have an entirely identical full front look. Like this one, but not edge of course, they make them for flat S6s too but the flat ones being the ones that are hard to find: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Gal...hash=item4d3e1f582c:m:mF-rpmie8VK2iab6MR9K5EQ

I have a SUPER thin tempered glass screen protector for the front and back of my s6. On the back it is quite large so it has the halo but on the front it is cut so it just about covers the actual display bit, so there is no halo on the front. It covers the samsung logo at the top and the capacitive buttons at the bottom like any other screen protector. Both costs me £2.49 on eBay UK. After using a much thicker tempered glass screen protector on my s3 I would say that the thicker ones feel as if they would offer better drop protection.

Post your combination - screen protector and case combos that work

Can everyone post their screen protector and case combination that works (no peeling edges). A few combinations were mentioned in individual posts but it would be good to have them listed together. Post away!
Has anyone found a good screen protector for the Note 7 that works with either the Spigen Neo Hybrid case or Caseology Parallax series cases by chance?
How about a protector with either a Samsung S-view or Spigen S-view case?
Thank you for this thread. Was about to create a similar one.
I have a Note 7 on pre-order and want to ensure a screen protector + case is with me before it arrives. Have spent a few hours going through various threads looking a for good combo that works without the screen protector peeling from the edges.
Ideally, would like to buy a tempered glass protector and a clear case. Any suggestions, please?
Also, does the official Samsung clear case and screen protector work well together? If tempered glass is a no-go, that would be my fallback option till something better comes along.
I have the Spigen Ultra Hybrid and now thinking of ordering this https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product..._act_image_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A7ZMMLW05YAY7
adhesive on top and bottom no on edges and it's size is case friendly. Still waiting for the UAG Cobalt

Nice! So no edges of the screen protector are peeling up from the edges? My wife's got that one case too and her Skinomi Techskin screen protector is doing well, the protector is still on pretty well but there is a very slight peel on one edge but it's slight and sits back down for a few days if you push it back down. My Spigen Neo Hybrid case doesn't play well with my Skinomi Techskin screen protector. I've gotta find another screen protector that'll work.

I'm using icarez screen film with choetech ultra thin hybrid case and it doesn't peel off the icarez since the bumper goes over a protector a bit and holds it down. Also got another thin tpu Myriann that works with it the same way. Tried spigen ultra hybrid and it sometimes will peel it off very slightly but a few adjustments and it's good again. Adheres the glass over the whole area? Or only the top and bottom from the jtech glass?
The Samsung oem clear case is working very well. Comfortable and feel solid. Better than the s6 s view case that I had that broke easily.
I will prefer a tempered glass but unfortunately none is good. Currently using oem Samsung SP. Affordable. Fit well at the edge. But can see lines over it after scratch and using s pen. But that's the purpose to protect the screen right

Question Tempered glass

Has anyone found any good tempered glass? UK owner here.
I have the Spigen - Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus Screen Protector GLAS.tR EZ Fit (2-pack). The fingerprint reader takes a major hit with glas protector vs with naked. But it works alright if you don't have super dry fingerstips. I do have Samsung's own plastic screenprotectors waiting on the side. I hear they work well with the fingerprint reader.
I have the glas paired up with the Spigen Ultra Hybrid Case Compatible with Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus 5G - Black. It's a great combo.
So it's better to just stick with the TPU protectors to avoid problems with the fingerprint scanner?
You need to delete your finger prints and reregister after installing a glass screen protector otherwise it won't work very well

That's true, but still the fingerprint won't work nearly as good as without a screen protector glas. Fingertip must be a little bit moist for it to work well. If it's dry, it won't work at all. I'm tempted to remove this and test out the Samsung's own plastic screen protector.
Don't forget....

That is the way with the ultrasonic sensors, they don't like glass protectors. On the other hand, they are faster and better (most of the cases) with plastic protectors or without protection. On the other, other hand...they suck with dry fingers. My wife can't use the reader on s22 at all and for me it is lightning fast.

had no issues with the fingerprint on mine, although ive not got a protector on yet. I might not bother as i really like this phone without one.

I'm using the AmFilm tempered glass myself. Works really well. Initially, it was a bit spotty after I put it on, but then I just deleted and readded my fingerprints and it works super fast. I also really liked the applicator kit that came with this. It has a HUGE dust remove sticker that covers the whole screen, so my application is crystal clear.

The only time it hiccups is when my fingers are either really wet or really dry - and TBH, that's no different than how the scanner worked before the screen protector was applied.
I don't know if they have Best Buy in the UK, but I picked up their brand of tempered glass. It was 2 for $15 USD. Other than a tiny bubble on the left side you can only see when the screen is all white, I'm really happy with it. It also seems to be staying pretty clean. My fingers don't smudge it up too badly. I almost paid $40 for the Zagg but decided to give the Best Buy brand a shot. So far so good.
I use the spigen ones as well and have for multiple devices over the years. I like their camera lens protectors also. Amazon prices are much cheaper than their website prices.
