Very seriously don't think it will no major devs are building for this device and there was a fundraiser for development but that went down the drain so in short good luck

I think that its very poor. No custom kernels and many roms. Every developer went for OP 7

I am happy with MIUI 10 since I have root and the goodies I need.
It was very hard to root, everything is different than vanilla Android devices.
But you really can't brick a MIUI device because there is a MIUI Flash Tool that works like a charm.
I tried AOSP Pixel Experienec and I didn't like it.
Also side button and fingerprint not working.

Yes but for months there is no custom kernel.. but every other Xiaomi device has some. Dunno why? Probably I would go for OP7 if I knew it earlier

It is a kind of sad not to see that much development for our beautiful device. I just tried the Havoc OS Treble ROM which only has a not that good camera as in miui, everything else worked good. Battery was lasting a lot longer.
I also miss F2FS support.

Same that A2. I thinked this Device would have custom Roms.

I also funded for this guy buying its device for developing lineage os. But I am asking what happend? Do you have some information?
To answer the question:
Very sad developing scene so far for this device. At first I didn't want to root and use custom ROM at all but I don't like miui and its bugs so hard I am really waiting for a good and stable Rom.

Thunderbolt is boring

Is anyone else getting INSANELY bored with the same old stuff for the T-bolt? I know that I am currently missing the daylights out of my good ole trusty HTC G2. Does anyone have some advice? I am running the new hacked 2.3 rom right now, but there doesnt seem to be anything truly new done.

Feel free to shove off anytime now, mate. Clearly you don't pay much attention to your surroundings, but there's some excellent work out there. Maybe I'm alone in this, but I don't buy phones to see how many crappy ROMs I can flash on it. The Tbolt dev community is focused tightly on cranking out reliable, feature-rich, functional ROMs. None of these guys are slouches. And now that I've said my piece, I'm gonna forward this thread to the first mod I run across because its totally pointless. Thanks for your vacuum of input.
Have u tried a aosp rom....
Sent from my A05PTH3ORYB0LT using XDA App
Yeah, some of the AOSP roms are beautiful BUT I personally think we need to pull together to get that darned RIL working with MIUI and THEN the T-bolt will be amazing again.
@ Loon: Hiya bud, nice to see ya trollin yet another thread ;-)
G2 came out ages ago when most things were new on android....maybe that's why nothing seems "innovative" to you anymore
There's a saying that everything seems great in the past because we forget the things that were bad.

I like how you think loon is the troll. You realize that a vast majority of the people in these forums don't care about your opinion, as they find the Thunderbolt to be an awesome, feature rich phone with fantastic dev support.

Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean ported onto a Nokia N9

While the Nokia N9 might be Nokia’s first and last efforts at a MeeGo device, it certainly does not meant that developers for the handset have given up entirely as well. As you can see in the photo above, one particular developer has uploaded the picture onto his Twitter account, clearly showing what appears to be Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean running on the N9. We can’t tell if this is for real or if it is a fake, but if it is real, this is most definitely good news for N9 users who might be looking to give their device a new lease on life, much like how the HP TouchPad saw a recent surge in popularity due to its ability to run Android ROMs on it. It’s also hard to tell how far along this port is, but we will be sure to keep an eye out for more news regarding its status and availability, so stay tuned!:laugh::laugh:

i hope for n9 forum and xda work on this greetings from pakistan
Pretty cool. I like the design of that device, as well as the Lumia, so this might make for a fun project phone.
Hey,
how can we get behind this? Want to know how to get this Android, etc. Would also like to see a Nokia N9 section.. think it's one of the most amazing smartphones ever built.. like N900. Classic.
As I recently got a brand new n9 64gb as a present by my girlfriend today <3 :good::laugh: :silly: *happy*
Kind regards from Germany
I am ready working over the android port for the N9 as i have it with me as my 4th spare device. If i get 100 people at least asking or supporting this, i am ready starting this.

Really hope that you will start working on the N9. :fingers-crossed: I really love the phone, and I think it's a shame that it was pretty much left to die by Nokia. I've heard rumours about maybe a Jolla Sailfish port? I ain't no genius when it comes to programming, but, I do have a Nokia N9 and the will to help out in whatever testing you might need done.
Any Hope of getting Lollipop on a N9

How is Cyanogenmod prepared for the device?

Just up late excited about the hopefully imminent release of the N5.
Do any devs feel generous to describe what their first steps are to get CM working on a device once it's released? And is the Nexus 5 particularly easier than other devices because...?
Not asking for the purpose of a release date, but just really curious how the development process goes. I'm a comp sci major and am just in awe of what you developers do. Thanks!

Well first 4.4 source needs to drop. CM 10.2 will never make it to this device... we are going to have to wait a few weeks until CM 10.3 nighties start.

treble for g4+

can someone port treble support for g4+ as i recently saw a post regarding redmi Note 4 getting full project treble support
https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-redmi-note-4-project-treble/
Yes developers could port over treble for Athene but you have to realise that it isn't something you can just get done. It'll take quite a bit of research and testing before anything treble related comes up. You have to consider that not every developer owns your device and might not have enough time to do things that you and the community want.
If a developer owns the device and wants to work on treble for it then sure, but don't expect it to happen, just be hopeful

thanks for the reply ☺
i hope we get a g4+ treble support really soon..
the best possible thing is to find the most active rom developer in the G4+ forum and request him to try. Don't ask for ETAs, as it is considered rude, just request them and respect their work and time
Yes!

Guys I don't think our device may support treble.
Talking about xioami phones they have an extra partition called 'cust' to cache their miui. And it is not used in AOSP roms which made developers like abhishek make all the hardware related 'hal's/api's or whatever to 'cust' partition.but coming to athene it haven't got any extra partition like xioami phones does. So ,I dont think creating a partition is so simple like that . of course razor phone did get treble later with updates but we need to realise that a company has huge team to do it and developers are paid well for it. And moreover our Athene has sd617 which is better known for heating issues.and is old 32-bit soc. And do you think developers really going to take this device seriously ?c'mon guys .its time to get a new device .don't get me wrong I still use this device for financial issues but I don't think treble in athene is worth developer's their time.
Do I make sense.? Just let me know
Thank you
We have /custom
We have /oem of about 635 MB

Athene has some loyal hackers still.
Who knows, maybe we get it, maybe not.
There is a small chance.....
I wonder if this is still a thing?

It's currently in testing and the main bugs include WiFi, Fingerprint, Camera and Audio.
This is definitely something to look forward to! Feel free to sound off and reply to the thread.
EDIT: For further proof, check @ghpranav's post here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75710310&postcount=160
Take note that I posted this thread way before he posted that announcement as well. This is not copy-pasted as I was the one to break the news first.
hope we get official

If you are going to use a Photoshop, at least make sure you know how to do it properly.

Before say something stupid, try to search. The developer from lineage os 14.1 with the help of other devs are working on it...

That usually happens if you stretch a low res image, or converting image from one format to another. It's not necessarily a doctored screenshot.

You are so naive. I'll provide more screenshots once I get them. In the meantime, stop trying to disprove things just because photoshop is rampant.
