First thing it will work only on redmi 3s LAND
It won't work on other device ok.
Well if u really ask the real developer the MIUI which constructed whole ROM. Then the one u r referring need to ask for permission .. MIUI apps aren't open-source which is used in this ROM. But I don' wanna contradiction.
No one can stop using any ROM to anyone , me , you ,him or any other..
I got the ROM now even if it doesn't update it still better and i have other friend who can help me fork but i don't have resources so i just helping this way..

Hey, I am am planning to flash this tomorrow first thing. In the link provided in the OP, the 'system v2' folder says to download from the porter until you upload there. I have downloaded the files from @fxsheep from the original port thread. Can I just add the 'boot+modem+vendor' files provided by you to the original files by @fxsheep and restore through twrp?
I am new to this GSI thing so need to clear this out before I take any further steps.

Well, in simply way u need to
1. Flash trouble supported recovery (preferably Orange Fox)
2. Mount vendor
3. Flash any trouble enabled 8.1 Oreo ROM of your device (to get vendor)
4. Flash his backup.
This is the common way for all devices
But i tried to make for our , my redmi 3s prime

I got the procedure from the original thread. What I wanted to confirm was that will the vendor be flashed if I mount it with system and flash along with it. And thanks for the efforts for our land.

for gapps I recommend pico, since it is "demo" build for nfc you have to flash magisk module, for magisk use 17.1 and up also don't forget to install the manager application.

My variant doesn't have nfc so I don't have to worry about that. Will try this out once I'm free. Thanks for your work!

3-)Flash eRecovery and do factory reset to boot the rom properly. P.S: if boot with a fully worked twrp you don't need to flash stock eRecovery.

Any other recommendation before flashing your Image? Tried it by coming from EMUI 8 but got sparse error after flashing system.img in fastboot.

Yes but I have to fix fastboot error first.
Anyways LineageOS 16.0 cancelled, sometime boot and some time doesn't boot. I'm start getting bored of from Emui 8.x and back to emui 5.x developments that are better in certain sense.

yes stock recovery, it is needed just to wipe data & cache. the releasetools.kirin970.sh can be flashed by twrp post rom installation by /sbin/sh in shell.

I consider it stable. I use it as a daily driver, and it runs very smooth.

I will update the instructions in the OP. Correct, but just to be safe let the devices boot up once before flashing nanodroid to complete the installer. This is optional but i did it for the sake of having less possible trouble.

The Rom ships with oreo vendor blobs - it is not a necessity

Hi,
I really like your mod for LOS but i have a problem.
I was wondering if you can help me make this ROM works on mine.
With your version or https://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=6623671 version i get the same result, it boots to a black screen and nothing else. LOS is running but nothing on screen.
After some research, found that this is a problem due to missing support of Huaxing Display and needed a custom Kernel like this one to fix it (https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/development/kernel-basickernel-t3858954).
All Redmi Note 5 Pro doesn't have the same display and mine doesn't have the Huaxing display !
Mine have a Tiama display and didn't find howt o fix this and make LOS works.
Any help will be appreciated.

Anybody face fluctuative signal?? Compared to PE and AEX, signal on this rom really fluctuative. I got full bar 4G LTE, and suddenly drop (-82 dBm suddenly drop to -103 dBm and after a few second, its back to around -80 dBm, after a vew minutes its drop again and rise again)

Thank you. Will give it a try now.
First attempts without gapps I was unable to boot, always Havoc Logo and back to twrp. Clean flash with your method and with my method.
Both fail (for me), raphael eea.
Then flashed in a row with gapps, booted up fine.
Flashed like always :
AOSP based Rom-Flash with OpenGapps;
1. USB-Debugging, OEM-Unlock and Powermenü in Developer Options.
2. Boot in Recovery and connect Phone with PC.
Safe datas; Systemthings like Sounds etc.., Pictures, Photos, Screenshots etc.
let the connection to PC till after Format Data.
3. Format Data and reboot to Recovery
4. Copy Rom, Gapps and if needed, Vendor-Firmware Paket to the Phone.
5. Disconnect the Phone from PC and wipe cache and dalvik but don't boot.
(6. If needed flash Vendor-Firmware Paket)
7. Flash Rom and Gapps in a row (add more zips) and reboot to OS.
8. Setup System. Set USB-Debugging, OEM-Unlock and Powermenü in Developer Options.
Let rest the Phone for 15 Minutes.
9. Reboot in Recovery, copy Magisk , and the backuped files to phone.
and make a backup z.B. boot.img
10. Flash Magisk and reboot to OS.
With this I wrote ( I'm a little bit older so it is safe) I always go good.

Just installed, seems good, FOD speed and accuracy as miui, awesome!

the FOD accuracy is so awesome its the closest i have seen as compared to MIUI ( btw FOD works on AOD as well !!)

The problem is of the latest versions of the immesity kernel (in some roms the dtw stops working). I flashed the last supermad kernel and dtw works perfect (If you flash supermad kernel, you need to flash magisk again).

Well I tried with supermad kernel and still dtw did not work for me.

Tried to reinstall rom and still not working for me. Oh well, I hope it gets fixed or changed in future release.

installation:
1-install the rom cosmic without gapps (just the rom and boot it) after returning to recovery and doing a backyp of the vendor
2-After backup, mount system and vendor in flash xpe 13, do not restart return to mount and mount system and flash GSI image,
and then flash permissive 4v
-reboot system
3- the rom must start but the camera or the sim card does not work, after starting the Rom return to recovery restore the backup of the cosmic vendor and restart the system, at startup the sim card must work
4-after the rom starts restarting the fix camera in recovery and flash and restarting the camera should work maybe it takes a moment for the camera to work (remember to mount system and vendor)
5-now we are going to install the Gapps download the most recent ones I use the nano we are going to recovery and flash the gapps and restart
6-Finally flash the magisk phh (optional) should use this magisk if they use another one does not start the rom, just restart and flash magisk phh and restart

The newer kernel (boot)

You can flash roms A/B with XPerience 13 as vendor it boots but you have broken Ril and camera
system-quack-arm64-ab-vanilla.img was tested and works

I tried this method and it's working very well, except that UI is flickering on all GSI's and for ION System UI is crashing.
For example Google Play's left menu, Kernel Adiutor Menu or Firefox tabs list have bugged background and it's switching constantly between black and white theme.

set 650mhz the GPU it should help and the main problem is the older Adreno libs from android 8.0

It's not working, it's not the same problem as in Xperience, beacuse some elements is not rendering in interface.
I will post a video of that.

After digging on xda for fixes, I made a StagOS working perfectly.
Performance as on XPE or even better, Bluetooth working ( audio too ), no UI lags or glitches, nfc working, autobrightness. I haven't seen any bug.
Tell me if I should make a full list of my steps, cause it's quite long

Please do, I'm very interested in testing a working gsi rom
