then type adb reboot bootloader again, type fastboot flash system system-190120-arm64-ab-vanilla-nosu.img , and fastboot flash userdata userdata.img and type fastboot reboot.
first root resurrection remix, install magic Gapps, and go to magisk manager and add it to modules, and flash nano Gapps! thank you for kftX for saying Magic Gapps

My English is not very good but enough [TR]

I'd recommend using the TWRP here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi...unofficial-twrp-daisy-mount-sd-fixed-t3889390
And, by the way, what is the purpose of flashing userdata? Is it just to wipe it?

Is the rom stable for a daily driver? Does it have lag issues like other GSI roms?

So...why you post that 1st post with tutorial/info if you do not know anything? Just asking

Work
Before all, save a backup!! You will lose all tour data!
I've had full wipe (format data > yes , it will delete encryption)
Flash all rom 9.6.4.0 with .bat file (erase last sentence for no auto reboot after install)
No start system!
directly reboot into twrp
Full wipe (and data)
Reboot twrp (for valid deleting encryption)
install RR system
Disable force encryption
resize system partition
install Gapps 9.0 (if you want)
Install magisk (if you want)
reboot
All base work fine with this
For cam and RR setting work need to add SElinux module in magisk
safetynet not pass CTS (i will try universal fix)
LED no work
If you have problem with your sim card try this
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78736646&postcount=195
With adb command
Work for me, sim back to 1 from 2 and network work fine with 9.6.4.0!!
Thanks to RR team and eremitein for help.

To anyone having issues flashing GApps due to lack of space and afraid to mess with the partition sizes (as you should be) use Magisk Module Magic Gapps to flash them systemlessly.

Thank you for the instruction. I have been looking for a solution.
I finally managed to get TWRP and root installed. However, there seems to be a couple of issues:
a) It is not able to detect the microsd card. The option to mount the microsd is not available.
b) when clearing cache, there is a message, unable to find /cache partition.
From completing Step 2, it booted into TWRP, however instead of choosing 'Swipe to allow modification', I selected ' Keep read only'. Not sure if this contributes less than 100% TWRP installation.
However, I tried to install TWRP again, but the first boot screen where it has the option to 'Keep read only' and 'Swipe to allow modification' is not there anymore.
In any case, I would like to know
i) if the selection 'Keep read only' is correct or 'swipe to allow modification'?
ii) how can I fix the TWRP installation?
Many thanks.
Good Job bro

Hello,
At which stage do you have a bootloop?
I just followed the steps and all work fine...
Why so complicated setup?
1. flash stock ROM via fastboot
2. fastboot boot twrp-3.1.1.img
3. install magisk 15.1
4. reboot to system
If first boot takes more than 2-3 minutes, hold power off button until phones restarts, second start will take the usual time.

the only thing I did differently from the instructions was that I updated from the previous version and did not directly install the fastboot ROM given in the link above. I'm trying using the fastboot ROM given above. let's see.

At the time of writing, the latest version of Magisk was 14.6. It is now 15.1, and you can use that one if you wish.
Yes, update, and make sure that after it is done, you are at build number N2G47H.7.12.19. Then you can root again as you will be at the latest stable Nougat build.

I would not flash the actual TWRP unless you really need it with you at all times on the phone. I just boot into it when I need it. With TWRP installed, it's most likely that you won't get OTA updates.

15.1 and don't install TWRP, just boot it and don't allow system modifications or you won't be able to apply OTA.

Its for the encryption. So if you flash custom roms it doesnt show "data is encrypted" in your first boot. Thats what i've read.
You can always try flashing without wiping internal and see.

Good day! Never failed to flash the rom in this way, the rollback to the nougat is made, the necessary recovery is loaded - an error 1. Tell me what might be the matter?
first, can i flash rom on both partion a and b ?
why after flash and rebooting to twrp again pation change to B?
why not flash magisk and gapps on same partion with first installation?

-Do not flash it on both slots.
-The reason it switches between A and B, is because the rom gets installed on the second partition and not the partition you are on when you flash it (i think).
-And you can't flash magisk or gapps because, like what i've said before, the rom gets flashed on the other slot.
Im not 100% sure that's how it works, so don't quote me.
I've flashed viperos having no issues. I had flashed nougat firmware before that. Now in order to flash another rom, do I have to flash stock nougat firmware again or is it ok that I just clean wipe and flash new rom?

Hey @bragon01 i have a problem with your rom!
Everytime I boot up your rom, it says somthing like "you entered a correct password, but your data is broken/corrupt" (sorry for bad translation, the text appears in german for me) and the only other thing on screen is a "factory reset" button. If I press it, it does a factory reset over twrp, boots up again and shows the message again. I wiped system/data/cache/dalvik-art cache before intallation.
Please help!
Did you do this step "- In TWRP go to Advanced -> Terminal -> Write "a1to5x" -> press Enter" ?

I think your phone is data encrypted. You should reflash above custom TWRP, format the storage and do the installation process again.
When you install ROM and it does not boot into our custom TWRP, you should reflash TWRP again and continue next step.
Hope that help.

Well, i had this problem when i tried to restore nougat a1 port when i was on oreo a1 port. I am not sure what caused the problem, but my first thought was the recovery - i was on the oreo recovery and tried to boot nougat rom...
Anyway, what i did eventually to fix it was to restore stock miui with official miui tool, unlocked bootloader again and then flashed the a1 firmware, oreo recovery and oreo rom. All is working well now.
The bad news is, your internal data is lost now, most probably.
Is the headphone jack working on this port?
Do I have install GApps for this rom? If it's should, which GApps do I have installed?
I installed this rom and working fine, but after several times I reboot the device, sometimes the SIM Card can't be detected, can you help me for fix this problem?

Google implemented AVB verity to check and make sure that all the images in the partitions match each other before the device will boot. The device will not boot with a mismatched GSI image in the system partition. The zip disables the verity checks of the different partions allowing the device to boot with a GSI image.

Thanks, there’s lots of interesting stuff to with the Pixel .
So it booted but when i went back and flash GApps i got error 70 and i didn’t do the fix while in twrp i wanted to reboot system first then go back to twrp and do the fix . Seems that wasn’t a good idea it booted to the google screen then back to bootloader with and error saying “error booting boot.img . Gonna try doing the process all over again and do the GApps fix after flashing GApps before rebooting.
Not working for me, boots fine until i flash GApps and reboot system it just goes to bootloader and says "no valid slot to boot" .
I dont really care but dont think this is really the correct place for much of this stuff....maybe poke around here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble/trebleenabled-device-development

I didn't have some booting issues at first with RR but I just flashed the stock boot image after it was all said and done and it boot fine. Not sure if it's twrp or magisk causing the issues
Edit guess I should add this in to the op

Funny i was thinking of doing that. Ok will try that . Doing a clean install of January patch and will have a go again .
Boots ok when i flashed boot.img after GApps but after a restart it just boots to fastboot and i if click on start or do a fastboot reboot it just goes back to bootloader . I think this needs some work .

Which GApps to use ARM64 9,0 or ARM 9.0 ? . Was reading that ARM64 doesn't work on pixel
Edit: No worries, i see it’s ARM64 .
I did a factory reset then install just the system.img in TWRP then flash GApps and Magisk before reboot as per instructions in RR thread . I boots fine but give the Android system error before you unlock . I report this in the RR psi thread and they said it's a known issue should just ignore it for now . Everything works . I'm using Google Fi which works fine .
This looked like a chance but disabling AVB, FBE and making the Kernel SElinux permissive has not helped to boot this here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr...vice-development/pie-erfan-gsi-ports-t3906486
Anyone more lucky as i am or any ideas? Would really really like to get Miui or Xperia as System since it includes fancy stuff to play with...

BUGS:

This recovery is only for Android 9, if u updated A20E to Android 10 u can't flash this recovery.
According to some users it can work on Android 10 but I don't guarantee booting to your stock system but u can install straight GSI
1. Make sure u have rooted phone, if not check this guide https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html#samsung-system-as-root or/also this https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a20/how-to/root-samsung-galaxy-a20-rooting-guide-t3954872
2. You gonna lose all of data.
3. Make sure u have checked OEM unlock in settings
4. Reboot phone to android/stock recovery (u can use: adb reboot recovery), wipe data/cache and straight after this select "Reboot to bootloader"
5. Plug telephone to computer, start Odin(use v. 3.13.x) add recovery.tar to AP slot, click start and immediately click and hold POWER and VOLUME UP until TWRP logo pop up.
6. Format Data (not just wipe) - don't restart (idk if needed but do it for safety)
7. Use MTP to put Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_03.04.2020.zip and flash it, system should start normaly. (i didnt checked on stock, i straight installed GSI)
Now u can flash GSI ROM(use only A/B): https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a20/how-to/gsi-galaxy-a20-t3964546
Flash .img and after this flash GSI_Fix_boot.zip, wipe cache and restart to system.
AND NOW MOST IMPORTANT PART:
Find your build number in software information.
A202FXXU3ASL4 means U3
A202FXXU2ASJ3 means U2
IF U HAVE U3/S3 BOOTLOADER FLASH THIS TAR:
https://mega.nz/folder/LTZlUKyI#oxxVc5zj8tP4bNQBIo8AlA
IF U HAVE U2/S2 BOOTLOADER:
u need to compare alphabetically 3 last characters of build number(NOT CSC!) with A202FXXU2ASJ3
for example your build number is A202FXXS2ASI3 so last 3 characters are ASI and u need to compare it with ASJ -> first and second letter are the same, so go to third, letter I in alphabet is before J, so u have older firmware and u need flash this tar(eg. ASH, ASG, ASF):
https://mega.nz/folder/nDZUwS5A#_FQKWL_1QUHN8_wXgqdGBw
if u have at least A202FXXU2ASJ3 or newer(eg. ASK, ASL, ASM) or firmware flash this tar:
https://mega.nz/folder/7bZ20IAY#ewz5ZZzWxTJfAbcnEJgAZA
I DIDN'T TESTED NEWER U2 AND U3 BUT IT SHOULD WORK FOR 99%

U need to do twrp device tree, u can use prebuilt kernel or straight from source, and u need dtbo image if ur bulding on android 9+. I too get bootloops but key is to use right version of kernel appropriate for ur bootloader version. There is massive difference beetween old U2 and new U2 and maybe that why ur twrp gets bootloop. Also u need fix for himax touchscreen to work in recovery mode. I make public sources of my work also with commits.

Thank you for answering. Are there no plans for developing for android 10 a20e? When I install ur u3 bootloader twrp, it shows twrp logo. And its stuck there. Can you make one using android 10 sources? Or you don't want to take risks not testing it, can you share ur files like ueventd.rc , boardconfig.mk? So I can make one. I am not so sure about my flags and ueventd.rc files...

Samsung didin't for now make public any android 10 kernel sources for A20e, if they do it public i gonna try. Oh, if u get splash screen it means u have still data encryption, did u before flashing twrp wiped in stock recovery data/cache, if it boots to splash screen its really big chance it gonna work for you and also for others.
uevent.rc just pick up from any exynos7885 device tree, also BoardConfig.mk are really the same, as a10 or a30.
