Notch and google search bar (in home screen) - LG G7 One Questions & Answers

How do I move the google search bar within the home screen or remove it all together? I've seen it done on youtube videos but there is absolutely no guides on how to use LG G7 one or they are incredibly hard to find
Also is there anyway I can make changes to notch?
What kind of music players do you guys use on LG G7 one? (I don't like google music)

Without the ability to root this phone, you can't do much to change the Google search bar, which is baked into the stock launcher.
One way to move or remove the search bar is to install a different launcher that allows such customization. (Nova launcher is said to allow this.) Or find a launcher where the search bar is more to your liking.
I've only have the phone for a few days, so far, have not found any setting that hide the notch (like on the One Plus).
Maybe try this: https://www.xda-developers.com/hide-notch-huawei-p20-essential-phone-oneplus-6-asus-zenfone-5/

Nova launcher will allow you to fully customize the home screen.
This includes altering or removing the Google search bar.
It's the only launcher i have used across three brands of phone and 5 versions of Android.
As far as the notch is concerned, there is a simple solution. Go to the play store and find an app called Nacho Notch.
These are guaranteed to address the issues you have mentioned.

Toggle widgets with Apex Launcher

Well, I don't know about you guys, but one of the things I LOVE about a modded ROM is dropdown toggles. There is nothing I hate more than having to search through menus to turn wifi/bluetooth on and off. Dropdowns are very convenient, but the dropdowns that are available in the play store clutter up my pulldown screen and I get annoyed with the "ongoing" message.
Well, until we get dropdowns on a modded ROM I have found an alternative for myself that I thought I would share.
Apex launcher (see my OP on apex for links) has a scrolling dock bar and actually allows you to put 1x1 widgets in the dock bar for use (if you have the pro version)! Very convenient.
Toggle Widgets Pack ha all of the widgets that we normally use, and all are 1x1. It even has a reboot widget for Root users! However the GPS toggle just takes you to the GPS menu which is frustrating.
But I found this GPS toggle with a Root exploit that allows it to be used as a toggle like we are used to.
Now while they are not that pretty, they are extremely handy. Which is what I look for! :good:

[Q] System icons

I wanna add a few more apps onto the slider targets, on my lockscreen, but there aren't enough system icons to cover many apps - mainly the basic ones + Twitter and Facebook.
Is there a System Icon Pack to match those on lockscreen? Or something very close to it? I can't find much in the Play Store, so maybe there are some around on here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...style-custom-lockscreen-t1690530/post26956718 - found this one so far. Are there any others, more up-to-date?

Great app, I've been enjoying it. Would it be possible to include an option to switch on contacts search as well (similar to App Dialer Pro)? I find that feature useful as well. I also made this feature request in the google+ community.

Got my replacement today and the home screen looks different...

My original Pixel had the mic issue and Google replaced it. This one is from Google where the last one was a Verizon phone from Best Buy. Anyway, I set everything up and did all the updates to 7.1.1 with the March 5th Security update. I updated all apps (including the pixel launcher) but for some reason I can't get my date/weather widget to show. I checked settings, google now cards, etc. I did a search on google and didn't see anything like this, I was able to get the google weather app but no widget to be found anywhere...
Here is the screenshot. What happened to my original pixel style homescreen and why do I have a long google search bar and no weather/date widget?

I faced the same issue. Just go to Settings, Apps and clear the data for Pixel launcher and you will see the familiar screen again
People over at Android Police are reporting that they are starting to see this on their Pixel

Hi there, got my Fold 2 yesterday and living it so far.
When I first installed action with my previous backup from old phone, the layout on the front and inside screen was fine! (albeit small icons). Now however, whatever icon grid layout I choose, the icons on the front screen are squished and app drawer is bonkers.
I have tried reinstalling the backup, restarting the app etc to no avail.
Not trying to have two different layouts for the front and inner screen, just trying to get it to look OK.
Any help on what grid layout I should be using?
You cant use much more than 5 and not run into issues depending on your layout. I'd decide the grid you want first and then go into the options and adjust the icon size so they fit. That may in turn have you deciding to change the grid again. Fiddle with it until you find a good balance. I use 5 because that's as small as I can go on the front screen without occasionally tapping the wrong icon because they're so shrunk and close together. I'm old, a younger person might make 6 or more work. You're going to have to fiddle with it and find your own groove.
Sure wish Lacy would update the app, a lot more folding, rollable, stuff coming...
