Thanks. So AL00 has gotten at least three updates so far. How many have the other version like L29 gotten?

Al00 (3), l29 (0)

No, L29 has 2 updates

I stand corrected: AL00 (3) L29 (2).

In my effort to remove China from my AL00, I must have removed the software update (NOT just shut off automatic updates in Developers Menu).
Any idea which of the apps that can be removed may cause this?

Reinstall the Huawei Care APK. You can install updates through that. In fact they usually turn up more quickly on Chinese devices, that way, than System.
Can just uninstall it again afterwards, then reinstall when you next need an update.

Thank you. I try to run the latest HiCare apk from apkmissor and it says it can't install because a newer version is already installed.

That means it's not uninstalled fully. Uninstall it using ADB. Then reinstall.

Hate to ask, but can you identify the apk to remove, because it does not have a Huawei System Update 8.1.11.309 (arm64-v8a + arm-v7a) (Android 8.1+) or an com.huawei.android.hwouc since it was removed or anything resembling that to remove.

There should be a HiCare one. Forget what its file name is.

Download this from the play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=bg.projectoria.appinspector&hl=en
It will help identify the apps and their apk names.

Thank you. Very helpful.
The"icon" that matches HiCare is called HwUE and the apk is com.huawei.bd
Odd but what bad can happen removing if I'm ready to nuke and pave to initial state.

Themes Store

I'm coming from a Huawei P9 Lite, and I loved about it the many themes there were available for donwloading, but now, in my Honor 8, when I enter to THEMES, it only shows Local Themes, there's not any option to download ...
Is there a problem with my phone, Huawei does not has this option for Honor? Or what?
Thanks already to those who can provide me information or solutions.
You have to have your Huawey account set on the phone (maybe the HiCare as well but I don't remeber).
Than you can download themes from the app called "Themes"
Thanks. I'll try that. But What I noticed is my phone doesn't have Huawei ID pre-installed nor Hicloud and Hicare... Will see if it's possible to install it or not...
Are you able to download themes?

You can apply themes from developers here though. Like MaterialVUI.

Yes I am able to download them:
From the settings you should be able to sign into your Huawei account (there is a menu optoin for that).
That's exactly how it was on my Huawei p9 lite, but can't manage to do it in my Honor 8, last question, what themes app version (or build) do you have? Thanks again.
Can you guys upload the apk. Needed to have this working... Thank you

Did you set your phone number? The only difference what I see right now from the screenshots that you have your email adress and I have my phone number (and secondarily my email) paired to my account.
I used my email address, so I don't think it could be that. Maybe if you try and force close the theme app, clear all the data etc.
Go to settings > apps > and select the themes app
I'm having the same problem and i recently discovered that themes store is not available in US versions:

Ok,good news here @danymart94
I finally found a solution
Get this app from play store
It's called EMUI tweaker:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teammt.gmanrainy.emuitweaker
Now, from the list hit Disable online theme, by default it's turned on
Just switch it off by hitting the toggle then head to the Themes app,
Launch it then your themes app will show a disclaimer now hit ok...
Tada ... online themes are just between your hands.

Thank you so much! I did missed this a lot!
Thank you for this tipp, but for me its not working.
Iam using Honor 9 with B120 EU firmware. Unlocked + rooted.

Installing Huawei beta app fails, conflicting with existing package name. B381 FW

Found through the HiCare app that you can sign up for beta by downloading an beta app from huawei website (http://consumer.huawei.com/minisite/se/fut/index.html).
APK name fut_2.1.15.apk
Installing it fails with:
"The package conflicts with an existing package by the same name"
The package name is com.huawei.betaclub
Been looking through Settings > Apps but can't find any app with that name.
Any help is appreciated.
Tried it, got the same error on FRD-09
FRD-L19 on B380 (i know outdated, but i am too stupid to upgrade without losing my data)
Does not work!
So which App do I have to uninstall and what does this BETA-App do?
I've already contacted Huawei (Finland) on this matter, and they confirmed that the package seems to be broken/incompatible somehow. They said they'd report this problem to appropriate place.
Reply from huawei support:
"Hello After testing the app out on our phones we have the same result. The app does not work on android 7 as it was made for android 6 to get the beta of android 7. Best regards Huawei support"
I tried it and it installed, but when I try to click agree and login, it says login failed (after having downloaded and logged into the verification app).

Oh I think you have to wait for some more time
Then
MHA-L09C432 emui 9 approved now. checked in firmware finder but its not loaded on to the distribution groups.. should take a few more days and then you will be able to download the update
Delete under Settings/Apps&notification/Apps the cache and data under System update and reboot the device after. New version show then up in HiCare. Just downloading it (3.44 GB).
update appeared today in Hicare and downloading the update right now.
Update installed this morning
Updated and happy! One question though, there is an option to cut down the size of that freaking huge drop down menu? Changed the DPI do not affect the huge menu
Worked on LON-L29C432 to.

When restoring using HiSuite, it responds with "Failed to restore".
I'm on build 10.0.0.134 of EMUI - could this be the problem? Is that the build that others have had success with?

1. Check your drivers and make sure they're all installed properly
2. Make sure you use the provided cable
3. Need to have a Sim card inside and also logged into huawei account
4. USB debugging needs to be turned on and also the hisuite USB access.
Had the same issue too and doing all the above plus a a reboot or two and it worked fine after that. Firmware versions doesn't effect it.
Hi, plan on this phone as my daily driver so I will probably runs anything on it, including sensitive banking and security apps, I have saw lots not recommending using this method as it opened up some loopholes (i.e. Google SafetyNet failed), any source or research being done that pointed out any insecurity of using such method? (i.e. Prone to information leaking, etc.)
Thank you in advance. Great community!
