For your personal opinion, is it worth to buy it or you prefere other phones like Honor magic 2, etc.?

I think he is worth buying because I am Chinese, although his system is difficult to use, but because I am Chinese, I feel good, I don't know the habits you use. The system is relatively simple and there are not many useless functions, that is, if there is a native system in the future, how to use the screen on the back!

Only specific magisk can be used and cannot be upgraded. Can not use the official.

Hopefully the international version to be released later can be rooted as well.
May I ask, does the chinese rom have app for restoring apps (and app data) from offline backup? Because i need root if i want new phone (for titanium backup)

We don't even know if a global version will be ever released... With nubia z18 they didn't for exemple

Does kingroot one click root work on this nubia x?

Kingroot does not work, Nubia UI is a REAL pain in the ass, no google framework and there IS and won't be a "Global" Version. Only a chinese one with some basic mutilanguage support.
If you are within the EU: avoid these Nubia X! A waste of money.

Vivo nex 2 has same dual screen concept but vivo has higher price and also not unlockable bootloader.
Man such waste of good hardware

I am in EU.
I can say that I love the phone.
Side load of the apps or rooted 2.11 - I don't regret even a single EUR spend on it.
Price/Quality - show me another one.
Oh, wait, you don't own one to do a comparation, I assume.
Tell me that again when you hold one in your hands

Sorry for my ignorance but what does this mean? I supose that's only the firmware, not the source code, but does it mean that we are one step closer to unlocking the bootloader?
Does anyone have a link to the latest Chinese version of ROM?

This made me literally lol, because it's almost certainly true haha. If you got your phone from the Orient (Asian countries that sell the NEX S/A, you 100% have the Chinese ROM. I ordered my S from Hong Kong in the second round of sales on the Vivo China site, and I got the Chinese ROM, obviously. You can remove a lot of stuff, but there are issues we've all been dealing with and trying to get around in order to maximize the personal experience more. It's very restrictive with the OS if you don't have a legit Vivo China account or a public account. Otherwise, you can't delete a lot of baked-in Vivo junk, and the phone notifications have a life of their own, literally. They come in randomly and whenever with no reason, despite all settings adjusted to allow them permission and access. The Global ROM apparently isn't as bad in this regard.
What are everyone's thoughts on the latest update?

Hi,

Global ROM? UK usage

Hi all.
I know the 8th November Xiaomi UK launch is rumoured to include the Mi Mix 3, but I'm not confident that it will. Besides, if it does it will probably be priced in line with other handsets oof similar spec in the UK.
I'm thinking of buying one from a Chinese source such as AliExpress or Gearbest, but I'm now questioning if I'll be able to load a global ROM on it or not?
This article states that phones pre installed with Chinese ROM cannot have Global installed: https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/09/...-miui-china-rom-no-longer-support-global-rom/
Does anyone know if this is the case? When I got my original MIX I was able to flash Global with no problems.
Thanks,
Dom
You can flash a global rom on a China device, but you can't relock bootloader
Ok thanks... So if you can't re-lock the bootloader, I guess apps like Google Pay won't work?

Sorry for the double post.
Do you have any detail about that? Or a source?
My original Mix 1 bootloader was unlocked, Global flashed, and then re-locked.
Has this changed recently?
Thanks

Thanks for your help. I believe the UK release is rumoured to be the Mi 8 Explorer. So I will probably order a CN Mix 3 and hope that the China ROM is fully compatible with the UK after GAPPS are installed.
I don't think UK apps such as google pay, and most mobile banking apps, will work if the bootloader is unlocked. But I may be wrong. Anyone know?

Banking apps (atleast mine) run fine on a bootloader unlocked rooted device. I didn't try Google pay
I also have an unlocked bootloader on my Mi Mix and have no issues with Banking apps (when using Magisk).

This and maybe EU rom out soon, tomorrow global without unlock if you believe the rumors
You guys think there's going to be major hardware differences with the new Global 5g version coming out in 2019 (besides the 5g capability of course) ?OR the rest of the specs should be the same? I'm not sure on ordering one now or wait for the global one to be released. But I'm assuming that the 5g should be more expensive.

I have the mi mix 3 Chinese version 256gb.. Love the phone but I can't get Google Assistant to work. I read in another post that we have to root the phone but I think the Global version will have it all preinstalled and allow the Xiaoai button to control OK Google... This is honestly the only thing I'm waiting for assuming we're able to flash the Global rom on top of the Chinese one...

EU rom questions

ToneLa said:
It's not only the best phone I've ever used, I think it's clearly far & away the best in class for a phone today and I genuinely want it to raise bars for what's possible with the hardware. As a package, it's remarkable. Best in class overall & in many areas.
I just love it. Nothing is a disappointment. Getting on the xiaomi.eu ROM negated the ill effects of importing a deGoogled phone. It's reliable, charges in ludicrously quick time, is a fantastic camera, seems unofficially pretty splashproof. Feels good, looks good, sounds good, works with everything

based on official, but not official. They do updates over the air normally but not til TWRP is ready. They're a solid group, used them before when I had a Mi 9. From a readme:

Since 2010 our web site has officially worked with Xiaomi on a variety of projects for APP translations and bug fixing and is a major part of today's Xiaomi Global ROM experience thanks to the great team at xiaomi.eu and its community.

trust them.
Get yourself on to the EU ROM. I know it's going to take a week to get unlocked but it's well worth while. The EU ROM makes this a superb phone and I've come from a Huawei P40 Pro plus that photographically may be better but there is not much in it. I just love this phone now. Got a couple of cases coming and a better screen cover protector.

Ok is there a way back to getting the phone "locked" again on stock rom if i want to return ?
Why do you want it locked again? The EU ROM shows no security issues, it passed every test.
On the Chinese ROM, I couldn't use my Sky Q as it said it wasn't secure and that was before flashing. Now I can use it. Is there a reason you need it locked?
You can flash the Chinese stock ROM if you do want. I have done to test but come back to the EU version. If you need a link to the stock let me know, I did put instructions on the Xiaomi forum but can copy it here.

I mean if i want to return it to default to be able to sell it. Also 2 questions, does the windows way work or not because i read there's issues in the bat file and only linux works. I dont have access to a linux machine currently. 2nd question, when twrp is ready, until then we will have to flash ourselves until twrp is ready to be able to do OTA?
We've found a fix for the windows method which involves swapping out the fastboot. It's all there in the thread for it, I promise...this is for overall love
And if you may sell it, unless you are going to sell to a Chinese person, I think they will appreciate not having to do the change from the Chinese version.
There are warnings about relocking and the possibility of bricking but you can always flash the stock Chinese version again like I did to test it and then back to EU ROM. Unlocking will bind your Mi account to you phones hardware but this can be swapped to another user if you sell.

What are the benefits of EU Rom? I have removed all bloat on China ROM and it's doing fine. Just having and issue of high power consumption of Google Play Services and mdnsd.
See attached screenshots. Plus battery lasts longer, no issues with notification and it reports it's fully secure. For me, it refused to run skyq as the app said it was not secure. Using the EU ROM, it's happy. Have a look at the attached.
How long does Xiaomi normally support their devices? How many "Major" android upgrades do the provide? Like from 10 to 11? And if we went through the EU Rom route will they provide updates for longer?

CPH2025CW - Flash Global?

I have a CPH2025 running CW though I purchased it from Amazon UK and can confirm it's Unlocked Network wise, is there no way of flashing just a Global CPH2025 to it so I'm able to get updates quicker?
Nope
There's a flashing tool used by Oppo, Realme and OnePlus phones called MSN Download Tool.
It's what they use internally and there are always leaked / cracked versions available for OnePlus, but not so much Oppo. IF you managed to find the right version you could in theory change your software version. You'd need the tool and .ofp file (which is the full firmware).
I have a couple of cracked versions of the tool and OFP files that I stumbled across when trying to convert my Chinese version to global, but not willing to try on my CPH2025 in case I brick it (plus I have the global version so nothing to gain by doing so). Sure Oppo would reflash under warranty if you could be bothered with the inconvenience of not having a phone for a week.

Unlikely, there are only a few leaked versions of the full firmware, I have found A14 and A29, as ColorOS 11 isn't even out yet is say there is zero chance of getting a leaked version that someone has cracked.... Just have to wait.

Does it factory reset the phone? How is 4g/5g performance when you switch regions? I imagine Singapore would use different bands... And how does it look with Google Pay, certifications, Widevine etc?
Update: Never mind, tried it, the *# code is actually for a realme device, can't find one specific to Find X2 or X2 Pro, and have no idea if there is a way to extract a list of those secret codes from the device itself...

The *# works on the Find X2 Pro. It's not Realme-specific. Google Pay still works for me and didn't notice any mobile data difference. No factory reset either
I've tried and it works. Changed the region a few times, tried Singapore, UK, then the multi-language E - all worked fine. It even disabled and enabled region specificNone of them have me a ColorOS 11 update though which is why I was doing it.
However, I changed to Thailand True and now this procedure doesn't work. Now stuck on Thailand ?. My fault for playing too much!

Thanks for the post Adam, you've made a lot of people very happy. This change in regional settings had enabled people to get ColorOS 11 early, replace carrier specific software for a more generic version, get features like the Theme Store and call recording working and even opened up the possibility of having dual SIM on a single SIM variant!
Cheers buddy! ?

New Mi 10 Ultra user needing help

Hello XDA forums,
I've recently required a global version of the mi 10 ultra after a phone swap. I'm not flash/bootloading/ROM toting gunslinger and have no clue about this software installed on the phone called TWRP.
From my research I've found it's a bootloader that allows the device to be used in other countries and gives access to Google play store.
But I just wondered whether going back to stock is an option, and if so, would that present any issues i.e. lose assess to play store.
If there is a simplified guide or any guide in general I'd be more than happy to look at it
Kind regards

Thank you for clarifying that for me having spoke to someone via the Xiaomi forums, they stated that it is used on the mi 10 ultra to by pass the Chinese stock ROM and allow Google play store.
The thing I'm lost about is what ROM am I currently using and how do I update it? Would you be able to direct me to some information to troubleshoot this?
Kind regards,
Alex

You want to uninstall the europe rom?
My apologies, I thought TWRP wasn't necessary for the European ROM

Ah no I was wondering whether TWRP is vital to it's operation, as I've tried to factory reset and for some reason it is still retaining the previous owners information. I'm thinking it's due to TWRP

Basically Yes, you will lose access to the playstore as China does not allow it on their phones. The 10 ultra's sold to people outside of China had a cutdown version of Google services put on but it did not have location history or find phone and other parts. If you do go back to stock Chinese, you can find playstore app in their version of appstore and if you install it, you can get full Google services again.
If you have the Xiaomi EU ROM installed and you live outside of China, then that version is your best bet. It comes in 2 versions, weekly or stable and both are still updated, so make your choice, stock ROM is available here.. http:/mifirm.net and do a search for cas or mi 10 ultra and install the latest fastboot or recovery ROM if you have twrp recovery installed ( you probably will if you have the EU ROM) or pop over the Xiaomi EU forum for the latest info here.. https://xiaomi.eu/community/forums/xiaomi-mi-10-pro-10lite-ultra-10t-pro-lite-10s.204/ and here for the weekly ROM.. https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/miui-12-0-12-1-12-2-12-5-stable-release.56191/ and the weekly ROM here.. https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/21-6-16-17.61822/ .
All the info on twrp and the ROMs are on the Xiaomi EU forum but there is lots of help and advice here once you make your choice of where you want to go. The 10 Ultra is a dam good phone with the latest EU ROM installed.
