I don't see any updates for Cusrom, are these XZs outdated? I do not understand
its not specific for XZs,
over all SONY has same treatment from developer side!
reasons?
there are many but one MAJOR reason in my view is
sony xperia is not popular device and low sales, less users, lower the intent to develop anything
if they market well today and boost their customer base! , Xperia Z days will come back!

also the when Owned Xperia SP, when Lolipop and Marshmellow was coming, many Dev is there...
I dont understand, since Nougat coming and now Oreo and Pie exist... Sony Dev one by one start going rest and gone...

Sony still provides AOSP Pie version for Xperia XZs despite Sony will never giving out any official upgrades for this device.
Right now, I'm currently working with AOSP Pie for XZs and I managed to boot the device with Android Pie version. Building with Linux on Windows 10 could be really pain because Linux on Win10 is not fully virtual environment where some building progress will be stalled at the middle of the progress while I'm thinking to reinstall Ubuntu back on my PC after using Arch Linux for a while.
Anyway, I can't post the Pie ROM here right now because I want to rebuild it to make it better without progress stalling issues.

Well ,we can't do much about that...but I'm planning on hanging onto my One X for quite some time.
But guess what - Android L is soon going to be released, with its promise of superior battery life, and higher performance ART (better than KitKat ART),etc. This is also going to be a difficult port with all these changes...as well as a rumored SD card access change.
The HTC One already has an Android L port that works... So I'm wondering how to get our (erstwhile) devs to make one last stand.
Anybody else interested in contributing to a bounty?
I'm thinking the criteria to be - first working Android L ROM, built from source, with perfectly working ART and SDCARD ( not including GPS, etc in this...because I fear they are binary driver blobs).

yes of course we will.
but i think we will get it, with the release of the z4 next year...
Someone just notice that the led on the left up corner blink the border too and not just the point.
We'll most likely get Android L yeah, and most likely without full app2sd as this is a default android security thing.

Android l doesn't include again native support app2sd. Make nosense build a smartphone with 16gb of internal memory that i'll full it with 3 or 4 gameloft game and can't use the external sd for install them. Well if there the drm problem will get solved with the root and sd cardfix or batter if there was a way to make a raid between both memory the problem doesn't subsist

It will almost definitely get Android L. It's only just released and L is round the corner so the lifecycle of support for the Z3 will incorporate L (albeit delayed while Sony do their customisations). Of course, if you unlock the bootloader you can stick custom roms on and there will definitely be Android L roms available. Hopefully a root exploit will be found before that so we can unlock without losing the DRM keys.

Sony already announced that all the phones in the main Xperia line will be getting the upgrade to L, starting with the Z3 around February. Final code will be going up on November 3rd, so a few months after that, late winter/early spring for the official update.
App2SD, no idea. I've been surprisingly content with 32gb onboard on most of my devices, so I'm gonna worry about that problem much later.
Hi guys I recently acquired the xperia M2 (D2303) and a previous owner of the xperia L (C2105)
I was looking around the forum and noticed there is not a lot of kernels or roms for this device.
So I was wondering is that because it is an unpopular handset or is there another reason?

From what I know, Sony took a while to release the sources needed to start development. After that, work on CM started almost immediately.
But yeah, it's not really a popular device. Which is kind of a pity, I'm really satisfied with it (except for that bluetooth issue, but it seems I'm alone on this, so it's probably a lemon).
On the other hand the Sony ROMs are really not that bad, so I don't know why I'd want to switch to a custom ROM atm...

for some time Xperia J developing got halted with the addition of new sony phones, I tried most of the roms posted here but would like to hear some other users input on pros/cons of some.
Since i have locked bootloader I was limited on stock based ones w/o cpu OC.
Since topics on the subforum are a mess, I hope to hear interesting stuff from you people
Which ones showed potential, which ones worked great for you, which ones had most free ram?
Would like to see if someone has CM on Xperia J that would be fun to hear how Jlo handles the CM
My prefered is Seraphic on looks, but I think Alien had more free ram but was overly unstable.

I have a Blackberry Z30 lying in my drawer, and I have been thinking of trying to make an Android build for it. Yes, I realise this would be a massive undertaking, but considering the parts in it are fairly standard, drivers shouldn't be an issue. The larger issue is the bootloader. My particular Z30 is a little special, in that it is a pre production device. However, I have no idea how to even check if it has a locked bootloader. Has anyone seriously tried to look at any BB10 devices, and how one might go about loading an Android build onto one? I'm looking at this as a long term side project for learning and to have fun.

I have the same BlackBerry Z30 device, waiting for 10.3.3 to see what's changed in the OS. Do you think it's possible to build for it an updated Android runtime based on Marshmallow or Nougat with Google services that works alongside BB10 OS instead of old Android 4.3 runtime that our devices have now?

To be perfectly honest, I would think that's much harder than building Android for it.
I think that would be hard too. you might take a look at Blackberry Link app and find how it works with this Qualcom device, I have no idea how to, but someone might know, that aplication loads the firmware when you get a BB bricked. But in my personal opinion its a great device, the BB10 OS is perfect for my needs, so I think tha would be better finding solutions for Google services on the BB10. a lot of them can be patched but there are a lot of bugs on them. In my opinion that will be a good start.
