USA... Where to buy? - Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 Questions & Answers

I see it's for sale on AliExpress right now. Where is the most reliable/ best place/ best price to buy. What a beautiful phone!

Looking forward to it as well. But be careful. Mi Mix phones have chinese and international variants. Most likely you will want to buy the international version. Always hard to tell in advance. I strongly recommend you wait a few weeks. Prices should also go down quite a bit.
Just get it from gearbest or aliexpress.

I have bought my LG G6 and my Mi Mix 2 from this seller who is now selling the 3, very trustworthy seller: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/202481586849

Seems like it but the same seller on AliExpress has it for much cheaper

Wait for the oficial release date. Prices Will drop

Can't wait for this thing to drop!

Have priced dropped yet? They are around 692 on geekbuying now, anyone ever had one shipped to South Korea? I'll be there starting on the 16th

Just bought as a new customer on aliexpress thru the Xiaomi Global Store. I paid $622 USD for the 8gb/ 128Gb version.
Hope it comes soon! I just could not wait any longer.

Prices are dropping, just saw aliexpress 8/256 version $623. Interestingly, the 6GB RAM/128 GB doesn't have enough LTE bands to be used in the US, only the higher 8/10 RAM version will do. Good site here(kimovil) for references on almost every phone in the world:
https://www.kimovil.com/en/

Thanks for the info but the 256gb model is not $620.

Checked again, it is $623 but I overlooked something else, I think only the 8gb/10gb 256GB storage has extended LTE for US, the other phones show only 7 matching bands out of 14(4G) - vs 12 out of 14 with band 66 included for 8/10gb 256GB, no 71 band which is fine.
I guess, I missed the conversion:

Oh, you are talking Euros. I was thinking USD. Any version will work perfectly on Att and Tmobile.

The 6g version has 3 t mobile bands. 2, 4, 12.

I notice it said "The Forbidden Palace" which is the 10GB RAM but it is my understanding that version has not been released yet? Am I correct? They said that that version was going to be released after the first of the year. That's why I hate to buy things outside the US because they always try to pull something and mislabel the product. So, beware! If it sayes 8GB ... IT IS! (The Forbidden Palace is the 5G version with 10GB RAM)

Think it would be worth paying the bit extra, sure you will recover any money on resale.

I'm waiting to hear about the Global ROM version

Guys, does the 6GB variant really include B66 like shown below?

Not according to mi.com https://www.mi.com/mix3/specs/

I do not have the source but what I have read (correct me) only the 256gb/8gb version has the B66. I would stick to the international ROM for t-mobile. The reason being is it may (correct me) have volte. You have a better chance of getting that if that is important.

The best way: wait for an invite and purchase directly from OnePlus.

I go to london the 11 of august...
I have an oneplus one 16 gb,
I want to change for galaxy S5, nexus 5 or iPhone 5S.
If you like send me an private messge.

To my knowledge all 16GB phones are China-edition and thus
a) missing international LTE bands
b) come with a chinese OS (ColorOS) instead of CM
Afaik all early contest winners who won the 16GB edition were upgraded to white 64GB editions.

Your knowledge is wrong.
1. The LTE works fine in Europe for the chinese version.
2. You can flash CM11S stock image.
3. There are 16GB international phones for sure.
I bought mine from lenteen.fr , paid via paypal, received 1 week later
But now they ship from EU (mine was shipped from china) and it should take around 48h
If your buying on Gumtree then make sure you pick it up as there are a lot of paypal scammers on there.
I'm selling one of mine on there at the moment and I have had a few people asking if I would post and take paypal even though I offered to deliver(I travel a lot with work) so you just know they would make a paypal claim as soon as they get the phone.
Likewise if your buying on there you get a lot of scammers looking to pull a fast one.
If you are buying a sealed in box phone then you can't check for the yellow screen until you pay for it.

That's a dangerous statement as neither chinese nor international OnePlus work as expected across all of Europe due to the missing LTE band 20.
Furthermore the chinese 1+ is missing LTE bands 4/17/38/40 which equals to 43% of all LTE bands missing. True it will work in most parts of Europe where the international one is working due to Europe's huge reliance on LTE bands 3/7/20.
Additionally the chinese version is missing 3G/HSPA band 4
Conclusion: my point still stands that the chinese version is NOT the same as the intl. connectivity-wise.

I specifically said "comes with", not that CM11S cannot be flashed anyway. Even if it is not very likely, they could break CM11S official updates based on IMEI, serial or other factors if you are not entitled to it. You would still have the "normal" CM11 though.

They changed production schedule way before mass-producing the device - only a few international devices were shipped with 16GB to journalists and maybe very early contest winners. Fact is that you could NEVER buy the 16GB intl edition.
Just bought mine off Gumtree from a local guy who had pre-ordered but bought an HTC M8 in the meantime.
£320 for a SandStone Black 64GB, brand new and unopened - absolute bargain
Hi there. Im from Barcelona, Spain, and I bought my Oneplus One from myefox.es. I bought the white 64GB one, with DHL shipping service (was here in 6 days) and it costed me 313€ total price (around 270 pounds, guessing) Yes, it is the chinese version, but it comes with CM11S installed, unlocked bootloader, stock recovery.
Works perfect, no problem with reception, calls, signal... not eiter in spain nor uk, as I travel to Glasgow quite often so, so far, so great!
I think it is a great deal, so you might want to go and check the website, I think they have one in english too, but this is the one that I bought it from.

Paco.

Sorry, you're right. No invites for 16gb phones now..
As for CM, since they posted a ROM on their website, it's very unlikely they would ever start doing something you mentioned to the CN versions... Even if the 1% chance came to be, you can always get the latest OTA zip on xda
Gumtree probably best place like I said just meet them at there house or yours exchange details if you feel need. There some good deals ATM

Mate 9 Pro-> Available at all? in U.S.?

The Porsche Design is incredibly expensive. But they have announced a Mate 9 Pro, and is on their web site here. But no information on versions, or places to purchase.
Google search not turning anything up either.
Seems like this time of year would be good time to get this stuff out there and available.

It's only a limited release so far.
It's available in China, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
Your only way of getting it would probably be to import a Chinese version. I've yet to see a Nordic shop ship internationally even though it would probably be preferable (albeit more expensive) to get one from a Nordic country.
Other than that, you can only cross your fingers and hope it sees a wider release. I'm guessing they're testing to see the reception of a curved amoled display for future devices.
Thanks
Sweden and most of the others appears to be pre order from 20th.
i've found a couple of shops in sweden that will ship to other countries when they do have stock...
If you find out where the Pro is available for purchase online, please post.
Yeah, a lot of people like me have interest on this Model.
Sure. Likewise, of course.
Misco in sweden will post overseas but they only taking pre orders and are not guaranteeing it'll be instock by 20th. They said telcos will get them first so maybe try them....

Yup. It sure is. Although it is not available from a supplier in the U.S.
One of my concerns about purchasing a phone that would not be from a vendor in the U.S. is support. Even if the support is 'good', timing for handling would be an issue, I presume. Maybe my concern is not valid...I don't know.
The other thing for me is if I purchase a phone (especially one in that price range) I want to be able to evaluate it for at least a couple weeks and return it if it's not for me for whatever reason. The Oneplus 3 has a 14 day policy, and the Axon 7 has 30 days.
I talked to Huawei customer support today inquiring about the Mate 9 Pro because I have been wanting to get one but was told that they do not recommend buying it from 3rd party vendors or sellers and there is no warranty for the international version of the phone if you use it in the U.S.
Well, that ended my hopes of getting an expensive unlocked phone. Might as well wait for the upcoming phones...

Some re-sellers offer warranty support.
I wouldn't worry about it... I've never had to use warranty service for any of my smartphones. I've been searching but can't find any places selling this phone in silver/gray at a decent price... most are $1,000+. I already got burned when I bought my international Mate 9 (lost $200 when I sold it after the unexpected U.S. release).

Very valid. I bought a Mate 9 Pro in the USA via a seller on ebay. The sellers post just said huawei has 12 month warranty. Which is true. Just incomplete
After i received the device, i could figure out:
Huawei does not seem to have global warranty support == you need to send in the device for any form of repairs to the country where it is originally from.
My device seems to be from Taiwan, but that is just conjecture by me because the packaging has a URL from Taiwan on it. Alas, the Taiwanese Huawei site is one of the few that does not have online warranty check and when i sent an email to them from the webpage to inquire about my warranty status, i never got a reply. Maybe they can not or do not want to talk english. Or deal with overseas sold units customers.
Aka: i guess i am pretty much out of luck wrt. warranty unless i learn chinese and jump into a plane to taipeh. Which could be fun . But i guessed something like that to be the situation before i bought the phone, so no big surprise.
i got my mate 9 pro from ebay too. and it's also from taiwan. it's the gray one and it's only $878 + intl express shipping. i think it's the cheapest gray mate 9 pro coz some sellers from aliexpress sells it for even more than $1000 coz it's very rare. and they are selling the chinese version too. mine's international, i got it after 5 days here in new zealand via dhl. didn't have pay any import dutiesas well. the seller only sold 4 of these and i was one of the luckiest to grab the sale. here's the link:

That is a great price! Gray does seem to cost a lot more because it's unavailable mostly... there's a AL00 (China) model open box on eBay, but I'm afraid of dealing with annoyances from buying a Chinese model.
I've just ordered the gold via Amazon Prime for $889. At least that way I actually CAN easily return the phone and get my money back if I don't like it... or if Huawei does a release in the U.S. soon I won't get screwed.

I just checked your link, Porsche was there, no Pro. One said it was a Pro, and I could be wrong, but my understanding is that the Pro is 6GB of memory, and the one listed said 4 GB.
A The only reason I would want a Pro is for 6GB of memory.

Honestly had the Dubai dual sim Note 7 and S7 edge too much hassle when it comes to warranty issues. Samsung does not cover overseas versions apart from their own country.
The cost alone for the s7 edge is very expensive and no point doing it yourself as you ruin the water seal.
I have gone the local Samsung. I know you want the dual sim as do I but for the repair and other costs no point.

OnePlus 6 US Version Model Number?

Can anyone in the USA provide me with the Model Number of their OnePlus 6, need BOTH the 6GB/64GB and 8GB/128GB variants?
Looking to purchase the device, Unfortunately i must purchase it on Amazon and i want to make sure i get the right variant....
Thanks in advance!

I found out ALL OnePlus6's have the same model number, no matter the variant, or color, or region..

So far i have found out there are (2) different models, A6000 and A6003. I can only assume there is a A6001 and A6002, most likely for other regions...

I decided to take the plunge and said FUKC mid-range devices, I'm getting a OnePlus6 in white to match my Panda Pixel 2 XL....Seriously, 8GB of RAM, things i wish the Pixel 3 XL has....
So I ordered the OnePlus 6 off Amazon, only because i had a $400 Amazon Credit. I ended up paying over $100 more and come to find out, this device was not sold by an Authorized Retailer. I asked OnePlus if i can purchase just the Damage Protection on a new device purchased from someone other then them directly. In the Subject Line it states (US WARRANTY). I asked if i would still be eligible for the Factory Warranty and NOPE!
so dont believe everything you read....

I'm sorry that happened. Generally, to keep the warranty, you must either buy from op themselves or an authorized dealer. I would not be too concerned as there aren't many manufacturing defects reported. The odds of you needing to use the warranty are slim. I also must ask, are you using this in the u.s. or another country? If somewhere other than the u.s.a., make sure the bands the phone has are compatible with the network in your country.

Band 71 is the 600mhz they bought last year in the spectrum auction. It's for their signal to travel further from the towers and for the signal to penetrate buildings 2x stronger. Not for any real speed improvements and it's only in rural areas that have virtually no coverage for now. So it isn't even close to any real city and such.
What you will see and get a boost from is the glass back (increases radio reception) which people same is not point without wireless charging ROFL, and the new modem which is now 4x4MIMO and THAT will increase your speeds in the same area. For example, in my house, the best area for reception is my living room. Before selling my OnePlus 5 I did a Speed test and it was 48mbps down on my OP5 and my OP6 with the same sim and location pulled 135mbps 1 min later.

Yeah, I contacted the seller and they said IF there was a problem, they would process the RMA.
I am using it in the US and on TMO and it covers ALL TMO LTE Bands in the US including the newest band 71, which is for capacity.

I have metro pcs (TMobile) in US. Works great!
There are 2 versions. A6000 and A6003
The A6000 is missing three 4G LTE bands; 30,32 and 71
These bands aren't used in Europe only in North America ATM. But you should check your carrier and Wich bands they use

Yea, the A6003 has been ordered and delivery is 7/11. I have T-Mobile and according to the Specs, the device runs on all available GSM LTE Bands, 2, 4, 5, 12, 66,and 71...

Seems to me, that getting the a6003 would be everyone's best bet for coverage. Unless of course you live in Europe and can get the a6000 cheaper. I knew there was another model but couldn't remember which. Thanks for the info.

I'm on T-Mobile network (metro pcs) and can confirm it does on all these bands. What's more, due to the glass back and Snapdragon 845 soc, the reception is fantastic. Much akin to Motorola phones I've had in the past. Everyone knows Moto has the best reception in general for smartphones, but op6 is just as good if not better than any Moto I've had in the past. Even my wife's s9+ has issues when my op6 doesn't.

This is not true at all! I love my Silk White, but there are so many defect reports, it's not even funny. I've never seen this for a flagship phone before, except the Note 7.
Almost all reports come from Asia. So I guess their quality control is different for US and Europe. Keep that in mind.

That is on you and Amazon. Oneplus website sells these phones directly, and their prices are actually the msrp. Which is currently the lowest price, because the phones are so hot.

The only reason I spent the extra $100 buying through Amazon, because I had a $400 gift credit from returning a Moto G6 Plus, so I had to purchase it from Amazon.

OnePlus 7 pro in the UK,, contract prices.

Has anyone pre ordered the device or has anyone got it in the UK on contract?
How much, who with? I'm aiming to get it on a cheap contract and use my current SIM.
I think three are doing it. EE bay be doing a 5G version and maybe Vodafone.
If anyone has any info on cost is be grateful.
If I can avoid £50 a month I'll be happy.
Three is doing it for under 50 quid with a 29 quid upfront fee.
If you are with them you can get an upgrade that knocks off a coupe of quids

That's the 6/128 model though
Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk
Also thinking about this with three Ireland, though will end up paying way more in long run,
The other issue is they tend to only offer the base 128/6 model. Would at least like the 256/8
So should probably buy direct from OnePlus for real value
Vodafone told me there stocking it from the 28th of may

Anyone has any info on the 5G model, i.e price, availability, release date?

Just wondering, you guys are offered "Outright" pricing on Carriers over there? Like paying full retail?!

What do you mean? With a contract you put for the SIM, part of the phone is subsidised via the cost. But an up front cost is usually minimal is not non existent, for example I haven't paid upfront ever.
I can get it for £43 per month with 3 but it's the 6GB version and I just don't want it.
Waiting to see it the 8GB version drops anywhere.
EE will only start stocking the 5G version and afaik O2 and Vodafone may not bother at all.
Which is just crap.
I may soon have enough via PayPal credit but I'll need to sell this p20 pro first.

Tbh it will most likely be the 6gb Version. I could be wrong but they did same with 6t and three only have 6gb model.
So annoying. They charge 40/50 a month...skimp out on the model
