[STOCK] Revert to stock Android One - Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi all,
To go along with our thread on installing official TWRP, we're adding a thread on reverting to stock as we've seen (and are working on) issues with installing GSIs post-TWRP.
I've created a post on Guava's support site that includes a link to the file and directions. The TL;DR is:
Download the file
Run the flash_all script
As always, please feel free to post questions/comments/concerns.
, Guava.

Thanks for all your support for Mi A2 Lite. Hope you sell a ton of units.
Regards

It does not boot anymore!

does anyone know if this stock version has a permissive or enforcing SElinux mode?
i am refering to this
because havoc install on top of this stock version leads to bootloops and at havoc they say:
if the rom doesnt boot then check your Selinux status not all devices have fully compatable vendors so you may have to switch to Permissive if the rom doesnt boot or any feature like wifi camera FP didnt work
Click to collapse

By default any stock kernel should run in enforcing mode.

is it for V9.6.6?
can i flash it on v9.6.6 build number? if not please give me the link for this version

site link is broken. pls, relink or give instruction here

On Guava's site there is nothing explaining how to revert to stock factory image for Daisy.
This, coupled with plenty of posts on the TWRP official thread for Daisy from people complaining about instructions for flashing twrp not being clear, and even (at least) one guy with a hard bricked phone, I think requires a bit of clarification.
Understand we all do this at our own risk, but if a clear and (possibly) safe procedure exists, please do share that.
I thought sharing was fundamental to the community.
Thanks!

Get stock ROM + TWRP + root for Lenovo k10e70 here

Finally, after more than a year searching, asking, try & error session, I compiled the safest method to get root and custom recovery for this phone.
As you know, there are very little support and resources out there for this model. Like the title said, I provide the resources within my knowledge and skills to help you.
I, myself debug this so you don't have to worry about making the same mistake I made. (What mistake you ask? Hmmm..)
This phone come with 2 variants. Mine is 1GB Ram but I'm sure this will work for any K10E70 as well.
Before you guys start all this, make sure you know what you doing. At least, prepare. Dig some more about the item I mentioned. Get to know what the "do" and "don't", because if you just ignore this, in between now to success, there a greater risk of your phone getting brick. Last but not least, do backup.
Okay, lets get started...
WHAT YOU NEED
#1 Courage (For trying something new..)
#2 Patient (Lot of it..)
#3 ROM (This ROM is built for China market, so there's no GAPPS since they had their own version of "Google". But don't worry, I got this covered..)
#4 Magisk - Systemless root
#5 TWRP custom recovery
#6 GAPPS (Optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Flashing ROM using stock recovery
- Place ROM in SD card root.
- Reboot to recovery. (Power button+Vol Up)
- Once you get in recovery, go to 'Apply Update from SD Card'.
- Find your ROM zip file, install.
- Wait till finish, reboot. (or it'll reboot itself, either one..)
- You have to understand that this ROM is meant for China market, so there's
a lot of Chinese bloatware. This is why you need root to remove all that.
2. Installing Magisk for root
- Install Magisk from provided link.
- Get boot.img from provided link.
- See, learn, and dig more here.
3. Flashing TWRP .img
- Get the TWRP .img from provided link.
- here how to flash and here to know what is actually TWRP .
Or
- You can download Flashify and flash from there. I can't guarantee the success but the possibility is there.
- Assumed you success, you'll find that the custom recovery is in Chinese (again..).
- Don't panic, I got this too. Changing the theme will also change the language.
- Get the Materialized-Dark.zip from provided link.
- Refer here how to change theme.
- Refer here to figure out the menu placing, which is which.
4. Flashing GAPPS (Optional)
- Get the GAPPS from provided link.
- Flash using your newly hot smoking TWRP
You can get all the necessary file HERE.
Million thanks and credits goes to topjohnwu for a magical Magisk, TeamWin for brilliantly TWRP, tasnim_tamim for TWRP Material theme and lastly for a some random Chinese guys and ladies who helping and providing me stock firmware. I hope there are more variety of support for this phone in the nearest future, such as custom rom, etc.
Have a nice day!
Great job, you are the man. Any help to root Lenovo K10a40 please, i think it's similar to your device and thanks in advance.

I think Magisk will do the trick, as long as you can pull out boot.img from your rom. Its worth a try. Good luck.

Does this work for K10 E40, or just E70 phones? Sounds like it's almost the same phone.
[EDIT] Just noticed that the k10e40 is the same as Lenovo C2 Power

Flashing stock Roms, Bootloader problems

Hi,
iam glad this place still exits
I've got a S6 (SM-G920F), more or less a testing-device (poor Batterie^^) . It was on Android 7 Stock, may not updated for 6month+, not 100% sure . Was my first mistake, i don't know any more details...
First i tried a few old stock from sammobile (Android 5.1.1 etc.) and tried to flash with odin. As you may guess it didnt work. I thought "Stocks - should be easy " and there are many outdated guides who tell this. I searched for the error messages (onscreen) and found hints that this problems could be caused by Bootloader who deny downgrading, may also for good reasons. I didnt read any deeper, as i found this Guide here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/help/guide-downgrade-sm-g920f-nougat-to-t3639253
Followed this Guide with https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s6/SM-G920F/DBT/download/G920FXXU2COH2/54694/ as "Source". I worked with the engineering bootloader and the told parts from the Stock. RecoveryMode was broken, but systems seems boot fine and no obvious Errors or Problems. A good guide for that goal, but no guide can teach me whats going up in detail. I want to understand a little bit more, and not searching for a "from any to ANY guide"
Actually iam trying to get on 6.0.1 Stock, but this guide doesnt work for me with a few stock-roms, not booting.
Flashing complete stocks with odin still fails. Flashing dont start or fail at hidden.img.
I came to this page with my first xda, later flashed a lot with my Galaxys...S2-S4, also custom roms- but stayed on stock at some point. So i should have basic knowledge, but i realize its outdated and there a few new "stummbling blocks" etc. Therefore i decided to get more in detail and ask here, before trial and error with other ways (like flashing with recovery)may leads to a brick. Not founded deeper informations myself. In the past i knew which parts a rom/firmware could have and their functions and whats possible with it.
Somebody here with time to help? Where can i find infos which bootloader i got, which others i may can flash (on what way) and which one is working with which Rom^^ Hope that the device wasnt on newest BL, and i still have the choice. Is the Kernel or other parts important as long as iam only trying to jump between stocks?
I backuped efs-partition with TWRP and stored the backup folder on PC, is that enogh to be prevent IMEI lost?
Hints or Links could be enough in some cases.
Thanks for reading and your work

G920f is international version, so compatible with all roms. Frankly speaking, flashing is basically same as s2 etc. If you're on nougat, then nougat bootloader.
Idk why u want to go to Marshmallow, but some guys managed to flash a Marshmallow custom rom directly from nougat. It's called xtrestolite. It has no support whatsoever. https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...xtrestolite-deodexed-mod-edition-1-0-t3094423
For TWRP & ROOT, follow the steps in this video https://youtu.be/BV1ELmu8T0I & that's it.
DO NOT USE supersu. USE & flash latest Magisk v15.0+ (stable) from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/app...80cb6-t3618589 Download latest Magisk Manager as well
So the steps are:
From the links in the video, download the specific twrp for g920f. This one: https://eu.dl.twrp.me/zeroflte/twrp-...roflte.img.tar The first file.
Install the Samsung drivers from the link in the video on your pc.
Download & extract Odin.exe.(link in video. Use the same version)
Enable usb debugging on your phone.
Put your phone to download mode
Start odin. Follow the steps in the video to install twrp
When install is complete, immediately reboot to twrp to flash latest Magisk. Wipe Dalvik.
Reboot. Install latest Magisk Manager
Check status in the Magisk Manager.
Done.
If not rooted, flash magisk.zip again in twrp
SuperSu gave problems to some users. Magisk was successfully installed in the first shot!
Nougat roms I'd suggest to flash. They're in S6 unified forum:
MiPa rom, A8 2016 v2, OdexLite v4.1
Try the Nougat roms I've mentioned since you're already on Nougat.
BTW Don't flash any kernels. Stay with those which came with the roms

[ROM] Stock Oreo 8.1 With June Security Patch (OPM1.171019.019.V9.6.2.0.ODHMIFE)

Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is my pleasure to present the latest stock Oreo 8.1 (Beta) ROM for Xiaomi Mi A1. Up till now, only a handful of testers were able to use the stock beta 8.1
But now, everyone has the opportunity to use it on their device.
Disclaimer:
If you are planning to flash the ROM on your device, you are on your own. I would not be responsible if anything happens to your device. Your warranty will be void after flashing the ROM. You need to go back to stock stable ROM with a locked bootloader for Warranty.
Requirements:
1. Xiaomi Mi A1 (Ofcourse)
2. A PC (I am using Windows 7 here)
3. The ROM file (Available on the link below)
4. MiFlash Tool ( Link: http://en.miui.com/thread-345974-1-1.html ) (A big thanks to Miui forum for making the tool available on miui forum)
5. ADB Platform tool (Search on google)
6. Patience
Installation Process:
1. Download the ROM file from the given link and unzip it.
2. You will see a folder with name as tissot_images_V9.6.2.0.ODHMIFE_8.1
3. Keep it on C drive
4. Install MiFlash Tool on your PC from the given link
5. Set up ADB driver properly on your PC (It's very important)
6. Now go to your device and enable Developers option by tapping on Build Number 7 times.
6. Open Developers Option and enable "OEM Unlocking" and "USB Debugging" option.
7. Now press and hold the power button and Volume down button for about 10 seconds until you see a small bunny on the screen.
Now connect your device to your PC and open a command box and type fastboot oem unlock
8. Once the bootloader is unlocked, put your device in fastboot mode again and connect it to PC. (BE WARNED!!! if anyone is on May security patch, unlocking bootloader will erase everything from the device and device will restart again. You will need to unlock developers option again and enable "USB debugging" option once more)
9. Now open MiFlash Tool and see if it reads your device serial number by clicking on "Refresh". Now, select tissot_images_V9.6.2.0.ODHMIFE_8.1 and click on "Flash". Make sure you are doing it in a proper way.
10. Wait until you see a "Flash Done" message on the screen. It may take around 5-10 minutes. Once done, your device will boot into system and Congrats! Now you have Oreo 8.1 on your device with June security patch.
N.B. It is best that you select "Clean all and lock" option on MiFlash tool.
Flashing Guide For TWRP & Custom Kernel:
1. Grab the latest twrp recovery image (Oreo) and twrp installer zip file.
2. Put the recovery image in ADB folder and the installer zip in your device.
2. Boot your device into fastboot mode and connect it to the PC.
3. Make sure the bootloader is unlocker.
4. Open a command box and type fastboot boot xxx.img (xxx= recovery image name)
5. Once your device is boot into twrp, flash TWRP installer zip file and reboot back to recovery.
6. Now flash the custom kernel of your choice and Magisk (optional).
7. Reboot back to system.
Important Note:
If anyone has any problem understanding the steps, I would recommend that you google or search on Youtube. There are lots of Videos showing on how to flash stock ROM on MiFlash tool. Please don't blame me if you skip any step or do it wrong. I have shared the standard steps that remain the same for flashing both stable and beta rom. It is advised that you STAY AWAY if you don't know what you are doing. I am certainly not going to take any blame for improper flashing. As you have decided to flash the ROM, I expect you to have a little knowledge about how to use MiFlash tool. A lot of newbees have problem at first, especially when flashing rom on MiFlash tool. That's because of selecting and flashing the rom file in an improper way. You need to first learn exactly which folder to flash or else you will always end up on a bootloop. Please don't blame me for not spoon feeding you.
Bugs Encountered:
I have been using the ROM for two days and I am yet to find any bugs except ctsProfile shows as false and Google Play Store shows Uncertified.
*For better battery life, you can try Void kernel (Choose the stock version).

It doesn't wipe data partition like what was happening on May security patch. And I haven't noticed any bug as of now. Some people said battery life is not that good. I can't comment on that as I use Void kernel.
Seems like a lot of people have some sort of issue with this post. First of all, this is not a custom rom and I didn't build it. So, if there is some sort of bugs on the ROM, that's not my fault. Second, yes I brought the file from somewhere else so that more people can use it. So, what is the problem here? Before you point your finger on me for a bootloop or bad battery life, you should read the disclaimer first. When you decide to do any experiment with your device, you should have a fair amount of knowledge of what you are doing. Before sharing the file on XDA, I flashed and tried it on my device and there was no bootloop or any other issue whatsoever.

If you just share a rom build by someone else, this is the wrong section of the forum to post it.
Too, you say (in op) you have permission from xiaomi to post it here in xda. This sounds unusual. Do you have any proof for this claim?
Thread cleaned.
Thread moved to the guides section where shared ROMs belong. The redirect from development section will expire in 24 hours.

seriously
copyright to leaked build? hahaha i can't stop
Closed beta ROM, so no point in "allowing" you to share it. They could open beta and do it themselves.
I call fake news on that
You share a rom from another forum. Okay. It was already been shared in XDA by the original poster in 4pda.
I call this reposting in the same forum.
You state that the ROM isn't yours and you "share" it with other people on XDA. And then you say reposting is stealing? Didn't you repost it as well? For you is not stealing but for others is?
Conclusion: Are you that desperate for attention?
Is this the official beta rom?

[Recovery] TWRP for the Nubia Z18(NX606J)

Hey,
youyim123 recently made his TWRP build available that I was trying to compile myself. So without further ado, here is a more or less working TWRP for the Nubia Z18 with instructions of how to install it.
Link to recovery.img
How to install it:
Boot into bootloader using
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Unlock the bootloader using
Code:
fastboot oem nubia_unlock NUBIA_NX606J
Flash the recovery.img using
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
IMPORTANT! Navigate to "reboot to emergency recovery mode". Do not use
Code:
fastboot reboot recovery
as it might not work correctly!
I found disconnecting the device from USB to be more reliable, so do that for stability
If it gets stuck, repeat steps 1 and 4. No need to reflash, just be patient
Language will be Chinese, so change that by using the settings button (second from below on the right)
That's it, you have a working TWRP now Enjoy!
EDIT: DO NOT TRY FLASHING MAGISK AS IT WILL DAMAGE DM-VERITY AND YOU'LL HAVE TO BOOT RESCUE YOUR DEVICE! YOU CAN USE MY recovery script in the bloat remover thread to fix your device
In case you get stuck in a bootloop, repeat the installation guide, then use
Code:
adb push stock.zip /data/media/0
and reflash stock firmware as a last resort until a custom ROM is available.
All credit for this goes to youyim123 and his amazing work! I know he struggled releasing this because his work is often used or redirected without his consent or giving him credit, so I'm grateful he decided to release it.

None yet. I'd say community involvement isn't exactly one of the OpenGapps team's good points

fastboot oem nubia_unlock NUBIA_NX606J

It is stable. Just make sure to unplug your phone after flashing it as otherwise it will probably get stuck after a few seconds. If you need to have your device connected to your pc, do the following:
Start adb sideload in TWRP, connect your phone to your pc, stop sideload. That way you have a working connection with adb again
Hope this helps!

i read somewhere in Nubia forums (chinese language), some dev is going to release TWRP for Z18, but it need poll to decide.
So that, i dont know this version on XDA is official or unofficial ? And as you said, if it is stable, so can i flash Gaap package to get full Goolge and service for Z18? have you tried ?
Already try few weeks ago, not working...!
The only temperary solution is "Google Space", or just wait for the global version release
As one Dev which working on LOS fot this machine point out that Lineage is very hard to compile since there's no other Dev help him, the System is block by something call AVB2...pretty ironic as this twrp not even let us using Magisk at all!

Please read the first post precisely and then the post in the nubia forum again. Youyim is the guy who made the poll and he made it public. I simply brought it to a wider audience and link to his official GitHub for the img.
You cannot flash Gapps with this because it errors. I said so a couple of times before and would appreciate a bit of effort reading before asking. You probably spent more time on writing this than you would've reading the first three post entries here, disregarding the fact that I'm trying to reply in detail. It's all in the first post, please read that before asking next time..
To sum up:
- It's the "official" TWRP from youyim, all credit goes to him
- You can not install Gapps with this, I haven't found a resolution for this but am working on an alternative. See my other thread or post #3 here

It's the same dev I'm the guy working on LineageOS as well and yes AVB2 (Basically think of it as Android's answer to secure boot on Computers) is a pain in the a** to deal with. Compiling itself is rather easy compared to the pain that comes after it, it's just killing lots of time and I unfortunately don't have that with a full time job. That's why I tried getting more people involved but (again) failed apparently.
TWRP doesn't have anything to do with Magisk either. Magisk is modifying the boot partition as far as I'm aware (don't hate me topjohnwu) and it relies on either no AVB/DM-Verity or a flag that doesn't work here either. TWRP in contrast just modifies/overrides the boot partition and is (mostly) used to flash many things including Magisk.
I think Z18 not have a global version, so we'll never see international firmware for this product. The only way I hope is some one or some dev support official method for install Google. And hope good news come soon.
Thanks all!

Isn't a global release coming in like 2 weeks or something? At least that's what I read last time I checked
I can tell you an official method. Root your phone and rewrite google services to system. Otherwise wait until developers can take a look at Rom building like I do now or even better, get involved. Being a one man show isn't helping the cause even if you have a couple spectators because it makes you feel more or less like a monkey in a cage

https://www.gadgetsnow.com/mobile-phones/Nubia-Z18 for instance. India isn't global lol. They mostly just buy masses of phones and then resell. And yeah I can understand they won't release a global version anytime soon. The phone is great but looking at the source code, it's horrible. I even had to submit a patch so they get their build fixed!
As for the download, try the second one. Baidu is blocking anything non China by now afaik. It will also be included in the LineageOS ROM whenever I'll get that done..

Qualcomm Crashdump

Hi all
I have just bought a new Oneplus 6 and wanted to install Lineage Os.
I had initially set up the OP6 with my google account and installed some minimum apps over a couple of days. The phone updated a couple of times. I think I started on Android 8, it definitely updated to Android 9 and I think it updated to Android 10. But I am not completely sure of this because I did not take notice at that stage because I didn't realise that this might have significance..
I followed the guide from the lineaoge os wiki here
wiki.lineageos.org/devices/enchilada[
I got as far as using adb to Fastboot boot twrp-3.3.1-2-enchilada.img (which was the latest image in the dl.twrp.me/enchilada/
It then got stuck in the qualcomm crashdump line on screen.
I spent a day checking posts, including here on XDA. There are a lot of posts dealing with this issue and I did try to follow some of them with less or more success but no resolve. I downloaded Android 9.02 and used the following instructions
techtrickz.com/how-to/recover-oneplus-6-and-6t-from-qualcomm-crashdump-mode/
The routine started to run and then posted a series of error messages and exited. ( I have a screenshot of the terminal window but cannot see a way to post it here)
I have tried to research this further and there are plenty of posts and lots of suggestions. But to be honest I have become confused as some of the posts give significantly different solutions to each other.
I wondered whether it would be possible to give me some help or point me in the right direction to a post which is current and has the steps that I am likely to need succeed..
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

I would recommend using fastboot flashable stock rom from here. People also like to use msmtool, but I feel like it is an overkill.
Please note this warning:
These ROMs can't be used to update or downgrade your phone but just to restore your phone, so don't use them to come back to oreo or to update from oreo to pie.
So grab the latest oxygen os 10, and follow the instructions to flash it. After that, if you are feeling a bit paranoid maybe download a zip from oneplus and do a local update. You now should have your phone back.
Official TWRP does not support android 10 yet, as far as I understand, so that is probably the issue. If you want lineageos 16, you should downgrade to android 9 using a downgrade package provided by oneplus and then update to Oxygen OS 9.0.9.
There is unofficial twrp by mauronofrio that supports android 10. If you want to go from OOS 10 to some other android 10 rom

Thanks very much for your helpful reply. I am now back to a working phone with Oxygen os10. And you have also explained what was wrong when I tried to fix it, I was trying to load an Oxygen Os 9 on a phone that had already been upgraded to 10 and you have explained what went wrong in the first place, I was trying to flash an incompatible TWRP image onto Android 10. So your short post has explained a lot. Thank you.
I am not feeling paranoid unless you advise that I should be and I do want to install lineage os. So I need to revert to Oxygen Os9. I have looked on the Oneplus site and that have found the option to Upgrade to 10.3 but no option to downgrade. In the Oneplus community there is a link to downloadable ROMs, these are divided into a number of folders some of which look not applicable. There are three folders that look of interest
1. Signed flashable zips
2. OTA incremental update zips
3. Stock boot-recovery images
Here is the link /forums.oneplus.com/threads/oneplus-6-rom-ota-oxygen-os-mirrors-for-official-oxygen-os-roms-and-ota-updates.835607/
I can see it is not the OTA Incremental that I need but am unsure if it is signed flashable zips or Stock boot recovery images. or whether it is neither.
Do I flash as normal or would it be a local update?
I would be grateful for any further advice.
Thanks again and for any help provided now.

I have had luck with this downgrade package. I basically googled it, the package is hosted on a legitimate website, so that's what I used. Just download it, put it on your phone and do a local upgrade through updater app.
Once you have done that I would recommend upgrading to the latest Android 9, which is OOS version 9.0.9 I believe. Then go ahead and follow instructions to install lineageos.
I am actually on LineageOS 16 + MicroG right now, so I ran into the same problems you did Glad I could help!

Thanks so much for your reply again.
I used your downgrade link and that all worked well and then let it upgrade to OOS 9.0.9. Again all very positive.
I then tried to flash TWRP to the device using this image "twrp-3.3.1-2-enchilada.img" It appeared to flash okay. Then I issued the command
"fastboot boot twrp-3.3.1-2-enchilada.img" over my adb connection and it returned to the Qualcomm Crashdump error.
I presume I have to start again with the exception that this time I can use a flashable stock rom that is OOS 9.09? Is that correct?
Then do you have any suggestions for getting round the TWRP problem? Did you use a different version?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hm. Yes, unfortunately the safest thing to do is to start again. But you can start with 9.0.9 right away.
People have been discussing a similar issue here. It seems like using unofficial twrp by blu_spark helps. Maybe twrp-3.2.3-x_blu_spark_v9.91_op6.img or maybe try the latest one.
Also, make sure you read the instructions on lineageos website. Make sure you have oem unlocked, usb debugging enabled and you clicked "always give access to this" device or something, do the fastboot set_active a. I have also used fastboot flash boot_a <recovery_filename>.img. However, I do recall using fastboot boot <recovery_filename>.img some other time and I think it worked....
Anyway, yeah, maybe try this modified recovery by blu spark and follow the instructions carefully.

Thanks very much for your helpful reply and apologies for the delay in my reply to this post, I have been tied up with work the last couple of days.
I did re-install OOS 9 and then followed the instructions on the Team Win site to install TWRP in the Oneplus6. I had success after I used the latest TWRP image and zip from that site . I was then able to install Lineage OS and Microg as I wished.
So thanks for the help all. Really appreciated.
