Possible Rom - Nokia 6.1 (2018) Guides, News, & Discussion

So it's not hard to notice the lack of roms for this phone, unless I need to look somewhere else, but came across this article that mentioned a generic rom working on 13 devices so far. Maybe it's worth a try with this phone, really getting tired of the lag and camera issues I'm having.
https://www.androidauthority.com/stock-android-pie-project-treble-897001/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=gplus

Tried it on TA-1043. Wi-Fi, hotspots, Bluetooth, voice calling (maybe SMS), camera and NFC are not working, that is all I found during an hour usage.
Waiting for other ROMs.

wifi spits in bluetooths eye

Hi all wondering if anyone can shed some light on this one:
i recently bought a htc kaiser (yay) and its great! but i cant get wifi and bluetooth to work simultaneously in any way shape or form - every time i connect the wifi, the bluetooth connections will die - so far ive tested it with multiple devices and its a consistent problem
i even sent the unit back for a replacement but they tested it and said it was fine (i don't believe them cause i tried every which way to get it working) either way ive got the unit back now and i still cant get both to work at the same time - ARGH!!
if i cant get the bastard to work in the next week or so im going to return the unit as its inside the 28 day period - i just wanna be able to stream music from the net over wifi and listen to it using my a2dp headset
anyone have any guru zen insight on this one they feel like sharing?
cheers
fusi
must be a kaiser or rom thing cause i do it all the time at home with the hermes (go hermes go!!!)
have the wifi running fine with AD2P via motorola Ht820s
My Kaiser does both WiFi & BT with no issues. The only thing I can suggest is tinkering with your WiFi access point settings (change the channel, encryption, etc.) -- in particular, channel changes may do the trick, as both BT & 802.11b use the 2.4 GHz band.
thanks for the replies guys i swear im going loopy with this thing - what wifi channels can you confirm it works on for you?
well ive tried every permutation. it doesnt work - supergps are talking out of their arse when they claim they got it working. im really sick and tired of bull**** companies. dont buy from supergps - they might be cheap but you get what you pay for.
Why don't you try asking supergps what they did to get it working and how they have their wifi configured? Sounds to me like it's something in your setup that's causing it if they confirm the device works.
i did
they claim they connected up a lenovo laptop and a sony phone and it 'just worked'
i tried it with the exact same make model etc of kit (and a whole host of other devices (must be about 30+ different devices now)) and it consistently fails
i cant see how they got it working - unless they were testing a different unit or they didn't understand what the fault was - even though i explained the fault in precise detail in about 5 different ways to them over the duration of the day they were testing it
i reckon they just dont wanna deal with the hassle of getting a duff device back
p.s. this is with factory defaults - no customisations or anything (though ive also tried with every permutation of configuration i could conceive) - it just doesnt work

[Q]Please Help! Microphone not working on incoming calls..

Hello, i need some serious help over here
What's the problem:
I own a galaxy 3 since June, a week ago i started noticing the internal mic wasn't working on some incoming calls.
Details:
First of all the problem began for no apparent reason (the phone works fine otherwise and no major updates / new apps were installed)
This started happening on the official froyo ROM which was an excuse for me to flash the Kyrillos 9.4 ROM (wiped all data / formatted sd card in the process). The problem still occurs on Kyrillos 9.4 ROM suggesting that this is not a ROM issue
I thought it was a hardware issue but the caller can hear me perfectly if i connect the headset or use the speaker Also the internal mic works fine on some incoming calls and ALL outgoing ones!
Upon further investigation i came upon 2 threads on other forums (unfortunately i can't post the urls as i am a new user, if needed pm me or search google for "Microphone not working on incoming calls") which point out that the same problem incurs on HTCs and XPERIAs. Also it happens on replacement phones (original unit shipped back after this problem), on different providers, on official and custom ROMs, on clean phones (only the stock apps installed).
This seems to happen when the phone is idle for a set period of time (unconfirmed). Fast Reboot app / manual reboot / removing battery don't fix this, however making an outgoing call seems to enable the internal mic temporarily (even if the outgoing call never connects)
When this happens apart from the mic not working on incoming calls it becomes also unresponsive for other apps (Tape-a-Talk, Skype, Soundhound etc.)
Conclusion:
It seems to me that there is bug in froyo that keeps the incoming call code from activating the microphone or perhaps there is a conflict of sorts that keeps the microphone blocked. It is highly unprobable i think that the microphone would randomly start to fail on different android phones in the exact same way, so this shouldn't be a hardware issue.
Question:
Does anyone know/guess or can produce a possible solution for this? If not, could you please suggest further testing steps to help reproduce 100% this problem in an attempt to solve it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is a pain in the neck for me (and others i guess?!)
PS: Excuse the thread form, i 'm really bored of writing / reading long posts
PS 2: This is my first post, hello xda community!

I have the same problem. I flashed the phone from android 2.1 TO cyanogen 2.3 and from it TO ice cream. I had this problem even to cyanogen and only in incoming call, never in other situation.
Googling I found same information but no solution. Anyone here knows something?
Anyway I found a stupid solution....try switching to 2g( I know that it's not a solution but...). It works for me!
that's ridiculous! how can network state have anything to do with the microphone of the device? can this be related to service providers maybe a more techish member could tell us.
anyway i am on 2g already as i don't have a usim card and this happens even if data network mode is deactivated. glad you found a way out but is it really a solution? i mean you have to ditch 3g for the phone to be actually a phone...
Since we seem to be the only ones among so many to be having this problem i am seriously thinking of taking back the phone for a replacement and hope for the best...
just an update, i lost functionallity of the microphone completely earlier today. That is with outgoing / incoming calls and any app i can think of, so i thought i 'd try changing the network data setting to 3g only since i was already on 2g...
WOW!!! that had an instant effect,it works seamlessly now, didn't even have to reboot.fingers crossed it will last.
that is one nasty and very strange bug. Please any of the developers could you take a closer look at this?
much appreciated

Successful Wifi Calling setups - please describe?

I'm curious for all you TmoUS people who have the ability to use wifi calling, if you are using it for ICS and it works could you describe your setup - rom, router, internet service, etc.
I've tried wifi calling on 3 different ICS roms and it didn't work for any of them. For my personal setup things work for about 2 or 3 minutes and then the call fails and my phone freezes for a few seconds. To call back I need to disable wifi calling, I've given up on it for now. I'm just curious to know if it might be just the app or if it could be the router or wifi signal or some combination or factors.

It is none of the above. Wifi calling on Tmo US with an ICS ROM is a known issue and will not be resolved until a developer gets an actual Tmobile US RUU to play with.
Between that and the inability to use the MyAccount app on an ICS is the whole reason I'm still on AHRD 3.6.
It is well known and documented that WiFi calling will work for a short time then cut out...and the fix by a dev is waiting on the above mentioned RUU.
I know that I've read posts that people claim to have been using wifi calling on ICS without any issues. I know its a known issue and I know the root of the problem is ICS itself, but why do some people say they use it without a problem?
My guess is people try to talk on the phone like me...as little as possible.
if someone is able to carry on a lengthy conversation without issues, I'm in the same boat as you...I'd like to know too.
Sorry...I didn't know you were aware of the apparent issues...
I have Wifi Calling partially working on my T-Mobile/HTC G2 running Andromadus Alpha13 (CyanogenMod 9 based).
I haven't figured out all the specific build.props entries that it needs to work, except I know that some update.zips with a minimal set don't work. I have one that pretty much replaces the build.props with one that spoofs TMO build data as well as other stuff and that this build.prop file works.
In addition to needing the .so files that are provided in all the update.zips I've found, and the Wifi Calling APK, I've read that GanOptimizer.apk is needed too and added that to mine.
I've found I can unreliably make outgoing calls. The first boot it did not work, the second boot I was able to make a call every other attempt or so. The audio quality seemed good too.
I can receive every single incoming call but they won't route audio wise and will drop. Then the app gets into a bad state and can't make outgoing calls either. Rebooting fixes that.
I haven't finished figuring out the bugs. The bottom line is it seems that CM9 *does* support Wifi Calling and it can work with some libraries and APKs added, however there are bugs that need to be figured out and fixed.
So from what it sounds like if I switch to Revolutinoary HD, then I won't get wi-fi calling, but since I'm running CM7, I get wi-fi calling but in exchange my HD camera doesn't work. We really just have to wait for updates now don't we?
Hey I actually just got HD Revolution installed, made a call on wi-fi for 15 minutes or so and it worked just fine.
Im running ARHD ICS and wifi calling works perfectly for me.

That's kind of the point of my post, if it works for you I wanted to know what your exact setup is. I started with ICS on ARHD and wifi calling still only worked a couple minutes before cutting out.

+1. Same boat.
Well there's not much to tell really. I just updated my firmware as I was running CM7 to ICS and installed AR HD ICS 6.5.1. Other than that I guess I run NOVA launcher and that's really it

WiFi/Bluetooth - ICS -Lets share version numbers that appear to be fine.....

In this thread i am only referring to the WiFi/Bluetooth clash that seems to affect some of us but not all of us.
ie; The problem appears to be with the WiFi, WiFi fails to disconnect when leaving the ssid area. Wont reconnect when returning to the area, the WiFi connection just cycles, hunting and hunting, never connecting..... until i turn the Bluetooth off, then it connects within seconds. Switching off the Bluetooth appears to eliminate a 2.4ghz clash between the wifi and Bluetooth, allowing the WiFi to operate freely.
Other phone manufacturers have had to deal with this, its not uncommon.
I've been evolved in a bit of discussion about wifi this week, And i have found I have the WiFi/Bluetooth clash on my twin-core. but not the quad-core.
so i thought we should distribute the version numbers that are trouble free, that seems to me to be a better place to start than with just random testing like i have had to do to get my result... .. so a bunch of test roms later, here are the rom versions i use, and have turned out to be trouble free.
Twincore - Now runs "CleanROM 3", based on build version 1.88.707.2, now runs problem free. I had previously tryed Asian roms 1.77.708.3 & 1.77.708.2, the Modaco IR1(1.29.401.11), all had the W/BT problem.... there were some others that didnt work either but i lost track.
I also tried the wifi fix provided by JSLenterprises but got no relief from that, not on any of the versions i tested.
(To be fair to JSLenterprises, i dont even know if his fix was for this issue, i just tryed it because i was testing anything WiFi for my solution!)
Quadcore - Still running factory 1.29.728.12, always ran problem free!
Anyone else got some build numbers that you know are trouble free? we might be able to narrow down weeks of research for others trying to resolve this bluetooth/wifi clash.... or else wait for the proposed offical update of course.
And anyone having familiar problems might want to flash these versions i suggest, just to make sure i didnt just get lucky.
lets solve this sh..!
You had bluetooth issues, and flashing cleanrom 3.0 fixed them?
what issued did you have? my bluetooth is terrible.
Was person calling me hearing their echo when im on bluetooth one of these problems?? Just bought bloototh for car and receiver hears their own voice, big echo they say
I had no issue with the bluetooth itself...
explanation in opening post........

apps internet connection (wifi/4g), Gapps problem? connection issue? or battery?

Hello guys. I have noticed a strange issue and was wondering if anyone else is experiencing anything similar. I noticed that when I don't use my phone for a while it seems to stop syncing as hangouts messages aren't notifying me (unless I force the app to refresh) also youtube videos tell me I lose connection (in the app) facebook feed doesn't always load when I scroll to the bottom, etc etc.
I was wondering if this is some sort of battery saver feature or some setting that interrupts the connection after certain amount of inactivity with the device.
I have seen the other post about wifi but I seem to be fine when I run my speed test (almost identical speeds to my pc which is running a wired connection)..
Any help is appreciated
There are known issues with the notifications not arriving in "real-time". However, it seems like this problem is only for Miui-based ROMs and not CM/Mokee, so maybe you should try out that.

thing is it seems to be occuring usually when the screen is off for a while though.. or in general when the device is idle.. I am wondering if it is a matter of a battery saving function in a setting somewhere, like a deep sleep/wakelock thing
As for the CM build, I wouldn't touch it at this point in time its SUPER with the few issues stated at the current unnoficial build
(Flashlight not working.
FM(probably remove this in the future).
some problem with CDMA2000.(You need to change prefered network type at first boot or your phone will be no signal)
WiFi mac issue.)
I wonder if anyone has said anything in the xiaomi forums.. I haven't got around to doing some research in there
Hm.. it might be a battery saving feature. I found this thread at the Xiaomi.eu forums, where they posted a possible solution and some people reported it seems to work for them. Worth giving it a try for sure!
