There's already a root method, with a modded boot.img for working root with 10f without issues. Just check development section.

I can't see any problem with flashing this newer fw, you only risk warranty issues unlocking the bootloader.

[Q] SM-915FY

Hi everyone,
I don't see the SM-915FY anywhere. It is the model sold in France. If I buy it, do you think I will be able to get root and custom flashing ? No root is a complete deal breaker for me =(

For F350L/S/K:
On a stock android 5.0 lollipop you must be rooted first.

After root.
download buildprop editor.
edit ro.product.model change to LG-D838

Thanks.
Any confirmation??? it would be awesome if it works
Would be ery happy to know. I dont want to brick my device
It works! My device was f350l and now is d838 with lollipop rom of d838,clean of all korean apps. I followed the tutorial, edit build prop and flash kdz of d838. All perfect!! Thanks a lot

Think you this will work with an Lg G2 F320 S to G2 D802?
F320 S had Micro SD Slot and D802 have not.
I dont know,im sorry. I made the tutorial afraid and step by step because i didnt like the korean apps and because lollipop on f350 was a sh... In your case. But i can supose that this dont serve to you because of the micro sd

Ok Thanks for the Answer.
But flash the D838 KDZ Modem,Cust,Recovery, etc.on your F350 and this works?
First i edited model with build prop editor. Then i only flashed a kdz with flash tools

Not working for me, any ideas?
I have F350L (Korea U+), i done a clean F350L CSE KDZ flash first, then only rooted it and changed model to LG-D838, now when i try flashing 2 different D838 32GB KDZ's it fails at 3% on the pc (the phone shows no progress)
I can easily flash it back to F350L.KDZ so i know my driver & flash tool 2014 is working ok..
we need to downgrade to kitkat first? it didnt work for me also. I have the Korea L version
Thats what im gonna try tomorrow
Still no luck for me, i downloaded Kitkat TOT & DLL files for my F350L loaded that fine, so now on stock Kitkat, i just rooted it and changed model to LG-D838, same result as before, someone who has successfully done this conversion please help!
Can i do this on my g pro 2 f350l on 4.4.2. Is there any video for help?
I think its more of the bootloader being upgraded once you loaded OTA lollipop for F350. So I am going to try this first: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-...covery-cwm-recovery-lollipop-booyaah-t3035831

I will try this too, what custom/stock F350 flashable rom are you going to get the system img out of??
I think it doesn't matter as long as you get the unlock bootloader, then we try to flash the official D838 ROM

Yea thats what i thought, i have got the system.img out of Future3.2F350L rom, just making the new zip & about to flash it..
KDZ method still not working for me, but i did get it converted to D838 a different way , using this method as above: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-...covery-cwm-recovery-lollipop-booyaah-t3035831 and inserting D838 system.img from a stock D838 lollipop flashable zip i downloaded

And now after doing the above i have just successfully flashed a D838 KDZ via LG Flash Tool 2014 :good:
Finally! Thanks for the test. Now I need to downgrade to KitKat.
BTW, can you post your build.prop; so , I can compare that of F350L. I want to see how going that route - editing build.prop and successfully flashing D383 without downgrading to kitkat. Thanks in advance.

Engineering Bootloader G920F - Downgrade 5.1.1 to 5.0.2

as i said in the title,
i know that there is this engineering bootloader that keep safe the knox status if you want to mod the phone.
my question is simple, if i install this particular bootloader, i'll have root and custom recovery, is it possible to install a rom/custom rom/ stock firmware with the 5.0.2?
thanks.
Yes, only finger scanner wont work on 5.1.1 roms.
And your title mentions downgrading, I don't know if that is possible. If you can downgrade from a 5.1.1 bootloader to the 5.0.2 engineering bootloader and install 5.0.2. roms, please do tell because 5.0.2 was the best.
i heard that custom rom based on 5.0.2 are flashable over a s6 with 5.1.1 (rooted with engineering bootloader) right? i JUST want to know this.
someone answer please, also if is not possible. but dont leave us with this doubt. please.

H955, H955TR v15-D RootedSystem

I prepared it for myself but looks like some users asking for it. I uploaded it on my mega account . Here is a rootedsystem.img for v15-D. I tested for H955, H955TR. File size is 1.14 gb, compressed with winrar.
I'm not responsible for bricked devices. Use it at your own risk.
V15-D RootedSystem.img
If you can't find v15-D for h955 here is a kdz link:
SWS/Switzerland V15-D
There is a new line in "Phone Info" comes with v15-d. It says "Android security patch level"
Is this the Swiss version? Asking because your screenshots show SW version as V15d-GLOBAL-COM, but the Swiss one is V15d-EUR-XX.

v15-d is swiss version. It shows V15d-GLOBAL-COM because my phone's original firmware isn't it. Latest firmware for my country is v15-b. Already there is no other v15-D. Just swiss version released.
I see. Thanks for the prerooted system and the answer.
You're welcome
so from rooted 15c we need to flash kdz to 15d then use easy root tool and root it ?

I'm using the other way for rooting. But firstly you need to flash v15d kdz then rooting
Easy root works, copied this image on internal storage and started easyroot, that's all, worked perfectly, thank you again...

but you have flashed the KDZ first or simply use the copy rootedsystem.img to internal memory and run the ROOT IT bat file and wait till its done??
because i have do this way two times and i am in v15c anyway!
You must flash stock kdz v15d with lg flash tool, than root it with rooted image v15d.

You can't flash v15d rootedsystem.img if you are on v15b. But if you are asking for v15d kdz, yes you can flash v15d kdz over v15b
I havent found a big difference in performance with rooted and debloated 15d eur. It is stable ,xposed works , i think it needs to settle down a few days.... Lol. The only thing i noticed is that the phone gets a little bit warmer (without probainas custom thermal)

If your device is h955 (not other variants just H955) it's ok.
You need to install drivers and lg flash tool on your pc. I don't know any instruction for flex 2 on xda.
Can someone post a changelog, so we can see whats the difference between 15c and 15d? Thanks
I updated from V15c to V15d using the Lg Flash Tool 2014 and .kdz file selecting normal flash so it did not wipe data. After I was able to root using the newly created rootedsystem.img (Thanks Makifylmzz for creating this). After I flashed xposed framework v79-sdk22-arm64.zip using flashfire. All working ok.
Any difference? Smoother? Better battery life? Anything?

Motorola doesn't post firmware images?

Am I missing something here? The only android phones I used were Nexus 5 and OnePlus one, both which provided full firmware images for each update. However, all I find with Motorola is the original firmware 5.1.1, some have 6.0 found on xda.
I understand that when rooted, OTA updates do not work. So each time there is an update is the only choice to restore to 5.1.1 and OTA update to the new firmware? This seems like such a pain having to reset everything each time. Is there an easy way to update rooted stock?

Do not update from an older system version to a newer via OTA if you have done it before, in most cases it will hardbrick your phone (happened to my Moto G1 and my friends G3)
