Installation instructions (ONLY FOR INTERNATIONAL N9005, User reported that if flashed on other gn3 variant the script will wipe internal sdcard) :
ONLY IF COMING FROM ANDROID 4.3
FIRST DO THIS, SKIP IF ALREADY DONE CLICK H E R E
So you need a 4.4.2 official firmware already installed, a working KITKAT recovery and ROOT to backup EFS (use chainfire root for KITKAT)
1- Untick reactivation lock in security settings
2- do a EFS backup from your KitKat firmware
3- check the MD5 of your downloaded X-Note zip
4- reboot recovery
5- wipe data (don't do other wipes)
6- install zip and choose the rom in your sd
7- follow aroma, reboot system.
8- leave the phone 5 minutes
9- look at your internal sd card, if you have a folder "0" (zero) cut and paste the content (xnote folder) outside the zero folder
10- use X-Note app the first time to enable/disable home button + traffic meter + status bar elements color
11- done.

Anyway I used odin v. 3.07, with only ticked autoreboot, the file tar.md5 must be loaded under PDA
After the steps below you need the CWM for KITKAT

Q&A:
What to do if I forgot tick Phone Bootloader Update and now stuck at accessing recovery screen - Take out the battery to turn of the phone, boot back to download mode and reflash the ROM and remember tick Phone Bootloader Update.
Is Full Wipe Required? - No and I never do that, if ain't break don't Wipe. Only wipe the phone if phone act abnormal. I did like this since I own 1st Android phone - Google Nexus One.
Is official Poland KitKat ROM auto wipe your phone? - No.
Is leak Kitkat ROM auto wipe your phone? - Yes.
Can I downgrade to 4.3 ROM for N9005 - No.
Can I install CM11 base on 4.4 KitKat for N9005 - No as CM11 still under older bootloader.
Is flashing different countries ROM via Odin trip the Knox - No.
Is rooting in KitKat trip the Knox - Yes due to new bootloader.
Is this Poland KitKat support Hong Kong N9005 - No, Hong Kong N9005 is not friendly with others country N9005, cannot cross flashing.
What to do if I accidentally flash it under Hong Kong N9005 and soft brick now - The only solution now is flashing custom recovery (Knox trip due to custom recovery) for KitKat and later flash SweetROM v7 KitKat custom ROM.

Efs backup and restore (RESTORE NOT TESTED)
simpliest method for efs backup (from device):
1. Download a terminal emulator from playstore
2. Open it and type: Su
3. Allow superuser permission when asked
4. Type this: dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p11 of=/storage/extsdcard/efs.img bs=4096
5. Check your external sd card, there is a efs.img file (14 mb), do some copy in a secure storage.
For restore:
1. You need your efs.img in your external sd card
2. Open terminal and type: Su
3. Type this: dd if=/storage/extsdcard/efs.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p11 bs=4096

Hi OP. Just a theory for changing SELinux to permissive, try adding in init.d script "setenforce 0".
I did this in my kernel built from source but in init.rc instead of an init.d script and it worked however I lost wifi and I am new to kernel building so don't know how to fix it.

Kernel isn't build from source, zimage is intact only ramdisk modifications made by Angelom... (so wifi is ok)
In few time Angelom will release his Abyss kernel for N9005.
I've never compiled a kernel so I can't help you.

You can flash N7105 ROMs on an SGH-I317 and reverse it, even when they said the ROM is N7105 only.
Unless the modem is not compatible I would say Fine.
But these two devices should and do have the exact same architecture, specs and everything so cross flashing should work, given the correct modem and such.

The only issue could be the region lock (because modem is not included) but chainfire released region lock away app....
However backup your efs folder and follow instructions... upload is at 60 % (aaarrgghh)

I see.
With the region lock, you can't pass the setup screen if you don't have a sim card from the appropriate region, right? So how do you use CF's app?..
Also - worst case scenario, you can't activate hence can't use the ROM, but that's a problem solved by re-flashing something else - the only risk is to lose a few minutes. Correct?
For chainfire app functioning ask in his thread (there is a video on how it works)
Yes ... flashing a firmware for your region will unlock your phone so no problems.
I didn't see chainfire video yet but I think that you can flash the rom without the Sim card, then install chainfire app... enable it and restart your phone with SIM. .. but watch the video for right informations

Installation instructions (ONLY FOR G900F) :
1- Untick reactivation lock in security settings
2- do a EFS+modemst01+modemst02 backup from your firmware
3- check the MD5 of your downloaded X-Note zip
4- reboot recovery
5- WIPE DATA NECESSARY (don't do other wipes, not needed)
6- install zip and choose the rom in your sd
7- follow aroma, then power off your phone without rebooting

9 - reboot

Only confirmed working on the F currently, like other Samsung devices I wouldn't recommend flashing on an non-supported device. (it's possible it may work, but then it may brick also).

thank you, do you happen to know if there is a us cellular thread ? i haven't been able to find one since the phone was only released a week or so ago
Haven't seen one yet (I know there wasn't/Isn't one for the Note 3 either) - I imagine in a short time you will get to see what can and cannot be flashed on your particular model as development is still being explored on the S5 atm.

It should work on all but the 900H, as that is exynos based hardware. I will download and test on my 900T for T-Mobile ASAP and let you guys know. I have flashed several different roms made for the F on my T already, so I am pretty sure it will work without a hitch.

Ah good to know, as like the intl version of the N3, it seems the S5 is very similar in regards to cross over flashing with models T/w8 and such then.

Being the first TMobiler to Flash an International ROM and reporting success, I too have flashed all the available ROMs for the G900F on my G900T model with no issues. Downloading this now and will get back later.
i feel tempted to try a rom out but there is not odin file to go back to stock for us cellular and all the phones ive had have always been through safestrap which is safer ive never had an unlocked bootloader style phone

If you don't have a stock image or at least a full nandroid + EFS back up, I'd hang tight and wait and see first before risking anything.

If you get stuck in a soft brick you can restore your back up via TWRP (which you are using) - however, flashing something that isn't suitable can and may cause hard brick issues with your boot loader -- until you know for sure i'd wait to be safe, partitions/boot loader etc could be completely different on your device. I'm sure someone will have some feedback/news in a few days once people start flashing around.
PS: keep that back up and EFS back up stored off the device just in case :good:

APN Edit
No problem installing on my G900T from Tmobile. Love the built in sound mod addition. Only issue is I would like to edit the APN specifically APN type. I was greeted with a menu only offering Internet +MMS, Internet, or MMS. I tried adding a new APN and same problem. When opening the APN type box to edit, I could not put in my own settings which basically is default,supl,mms or default,supl, mms admin,dun as some posts show.
n\Not sure if this would really make a difference since I seem to be getting decent speeds and I can see switching between 4G, H and H+, so I assume 4G is really LTE. So, has something changed so that one can no longer edit APN type.
Can anyone report if Tmobile work on this rom ?

This theme was a lot of work put in by the both of them there is at least 100 hours invested into this. INSTRUCTIONS
- Download Theme
- Check your Playstore Version and see special instructions below
- Make Nandroid Backup (dont skip this)
- Wipe Cache Only (Wiping Art Cache is up to you not needed)
- Install Theme
- Reboot

Special Instructions
- Wifi,signal bars,bluetooth,alarm clock statusbar colors need to be set to white for blurry icons to go away
- Lock Icon on Statusbar needs to be set to transparent
- Drop down panel settings and 3rd button setting toggles need to be set to transparent for icons to take effect
- Signal bar needs to be set to 5 to have custom F.T.W. signal bars(Mod Controls > Stausbar > signalbar level)
- For inverted playstore to flash and stick,you need to be on 5.1.11(if not on 5.1.11 go in useing TiBu and uninstall the updated version of playstore then flash theme or reflash theme and all will be good tested personally
- Auto update NEEDS TO BE TURNED OFF FOR APPS IN PLAYSTORE,SAMSUNG APP STORE,AND AUTO RESTORE IN SETTINGS
- You will have a few apps update on first boot but not whole phone just builds cache for new apps instaled with theme
- You can delete the apps included with TiBu if you do not use some that are included with them
- Please do not ask for special versions or to delete systemui for status bar icons
- Please do not ask for special colors or request as we are not at that stage yet thank you
- Flash at your own risk as we are not responsible if your phone gets damaged or suddenly self destructs for any reason
- Please Check Your apps if something dosent stick you might have more then one copy being stored and it wont flash with the -1 or -2 and so on

If I'm going to flash this from your other ROM, I flash Ni2 in odin, safestrap, make backup of everything, do full wipe of everything except data? flash this new ROM. Restore all but data or system? A couple questions.... If I changed the Boot animation and possibly the build.prop will that make a difference or no because I'm doing a fresh install?

I am currently running Eclipse 1.0.3 with NI2 firmware already, I noticed the Dev is saying we need to be on OA8 in order to run this ROM, but according to you, you flashed and are on NI2 and it installed and running smoothly? Am I missing something here, please confirm so I can flash it, and thanks!
You need to be on lollipop to use this. I could be wrong but im guessing he left the part about re flashing the oa8 kernal after the install.

Thanks and yes it is confusing since the original thread takes us to the Sprint version of the ROM, @kushpancake would you mind explaning how exactly you installed the ROM.
If coming from eclipse (or any 4.4.4) boot into SS and wipe everything but your sd card. Flash the rom then from SS boot to download mode and use odin to install the oa8 kernal or full firmware tar. Then boot normally. Let google restore your apps. It seems to be that if you restore data or from TIBU it causes issues.

Thanks for porting this over to Verizon. I'll wait until some of the issues are sorted out. Definitely the InCall UI may be a problem if that doesn't work.
Any chance the normal sound modes from previous versions of android are in this ROM? I don't want to use lollipop without it. Currently I don't have to worry what setting my phone is on..it can be on half volume, vibrate, or silent and my alarms still go off..don't have to mess with any settings which is how it should be

I started install from NK2, did an Advanced Wipe of all but SD Card, booted into download mode and flashed OA8 firmware. I'll let you know how it goes after the clock animations, which are cycling right now...

I did a factory reset after installing the OA8 firmware, and even my MMS is working! That's a first on OA8!

Hello everyone. I hope someone read this post and can help me solve the problem. I'm going crazy to change the icons of the navigation bar in my Tab 2 Gtp-3110 (Jelly Bean 4.1.2). The device is rooted, with the exposed and the busybox installed. I tried many tutorial on the web (and XDA) but none of them was functional. Below my experiences:
-SYSTEMUI ICONS (systemui.apk editor): although I have assigned a new personal icon (30x30 32bit png) from the gallery to the existing one,nothing is changed at the next reboot
-Android L Navigation Bar.apk (aka lollipop navbar): After activating the xposed module and modifying the build.prop as suggested, nothing is changed at the next reboot and the navbar icons remain those of the stock firmware
-xstana: it works but navbar icons are all moved to the right and side by side (without spacing from the icons)
-Ultimate Dynamic Navbar: it works, but it's an extra service (about 10 mb) and it's not a real alternative to modify the navbar (otherwise the icons are not customizable and you can only choose those available from the app)
Now I'm trying to modify directly the systemUI.apk but I can not figure out which icons I have to replace. Can you give me a hand?

It's the fourth post I'm writing on this forum and never anyone who has answered me. I try it for the last time, hoping someone reads me.
Pixel Navbar?
So I hate the massive Navbar in Pie, but unfortunately I'm order to use Quickswitch the Navbar must remain. After testing countless options, I only came to one solution I was happy with. You'll need Substratum lite, and Substratum Samsung System Mods from the play store, as well as Natcho Notch. Yes.. Samsung System Mods...it works with LG. After installing these 3 apps, open Substratum and Samsung System Mods and go to the last option.
There are only 3 overlays to choose from, but various Mods under each of the 3. Select the first option "Android System" and scroll down to Navbar Height and choose something reasonable like 28dp. If we make it too small we have issues triggering it and the pill looks ridiculous. Install the overlay and reboot. Open Natch Notch and select "blackout Navbar and round corners on bottom. Set the status bar height to 0 unless you want to hide the Notch but that kind of defeats the purpose here which is having the most screen space possible. Move the sliders until your Navbar is black and your corners match...here is the result:
