No Gesture Navigation in the Android P Developer Preview 4? - Nokia 7 Plus Guides, News, & Discussion

Just installed the Android P DP4 via OTA and everything looks smooth and the battery life isn't as bad as it was in the previous build. I was not able to find the option to turn on the gesture navigation, which was present initially during the setup process but eventually changed in to the conventional nav bar layout. Any way to enable them?

DP4/Beta3 have reverted navbar icons to Oreo style.... but you can use with P and configure action to more gestures: XDA Navigation Gestures

Tried that but it's a bit finicky for me. Wish they kept the gesture nav bar like in the Pixel's DP4.

Anyone tried this? Requires ADB. I did not test beta 3 yet.

try again and do "tweaking" in settings default config is too unusable for me, but after change settings is MUCH better that native P gesture in DP"3"...
setting more x/y distance and disable tap => minimum oversight (in keyboard(space) and/or apps with bottom panel/icons), for info here is my config:
Gesture:
- Tap: No Action
- Long Press: Hide Pill
- Swipe Left: Back
- Swipe Left and Hold: Notifcation (Premium)
- Swipe Right: Previous App
- Swipe Right and Hold: WWW/Lightning Browser (Premium)
- Swipe Up: Recent Apps
- Swipe Up and Hold: Home
Apperance:
- Show Pill Shadow: No
- Pill color: white 66% transparent
- Pill border: gray 50% transparent
- Pill Corner Radios: 8dp
- Pill Width: 333px
- Pill Height: 39px
- Horizontal (X) Position: 0px
- Vertical (Y) Position: 0px
Behavior:
- Vibration Duration: 30ms
- Hide in FullscreenApps: Yes
- Don't Move Pill when Keyboard Shown: Yes
- Larger Hitbox: Yes
- Horizontal (X) Swipe Distance: 39px
- Horizontal (X) Swipe Distance: 50px
- Swipe and Hold Time: 333px
Compatibility/Experimental - All : No

look at screenshot

So they really removed it in 3.19 DP4? I just installed that on my N7P and can't find it anywhere. It's not under gestures like it used to be..
Any way to reenable it? I thought I distinctly remember seeing it briefly shortly after install until I changed launchers

[Q] Navigation Bar on bottom

Hey guys, I want the navigation bar on bottom ( there, where the USB-Port is ), even when the device is in landscape. I have a Moto G with Android 4.4.4 with root and Xposed Framework. I also have GravityBox and some other modules. But in GravityBox, under navigation bar, there is only the option, to show it on bottom. So does anyone know, what I can do? Thanks in advance.
Gravity Box > Navigation bar tweaks > Master switch "on" - then tick 'Always on bottom (Forces navbar to be on bottom for landscape orientation)'

When you read my question, there I said: But in GravityBox, under navigation bar, there is only the option, to show it on bottom.
Then, the keys are on the botton. But I want them on the side, where the USB-port is.
Then don't enable that option? I don't turn Navigation bar tweaks on at all and NavBar is on the side in landscape mode.

[App][4.1+] Dot Control - Smart Gesture

Hi all,
Today I would like to introduce an app made by me. It is Dot Control.
So What things it can does?
Dot Control (Smart Gesture) - Make everything more easy - Gesture to control your phone
Dot Control (Smart Gesture) substitute navigation bar ( back button, virtual home, recently app) completely with a movement on screen. You can a finger and move up, move down, move left, move right to perform a corresponding action such as back button, turn off screen, go to home screen, open notification, open recently app, turn on/off flash light, open any application what you want.
Key Features:
With a movement on screen you can:
- Menu edge (Slide bar, Slide app)
- Double tap to Look screen
- Virtual Home key
- Turn on/off flash light
- Open notification
- Open recently app
- Open any application what you want
- Open list of app you frequently use
- Automatically turn off screen when you put your phone into pocket, and open when you hold it.
- Capture screen for android >= 5.0
All above you can do with a movement
Display settings:
- With Dot Control (Smart Gesture) you can change color, transparent of list menu what you want and change color, size , position of Smart Touch on screen...
Especially, Dot Control (Smart Gesture) can work when lock screen, you can open notification, turn on /off flash light without open screen.

Nice app! But you forgot to indicate if this app needs root or not. And I agree with changing pokeball icon into something more like home button in pixel. The white solid dot. Keep up the good work!

Nav-bar button to hide the nav-bar

Hey Guys,
I want to find a way to show an extra button on my nav-bar to hide my nav-bar. I am watching for a solution for like 2 month and still didn't find a way to do it.
I tried 'Custom Navigation Bar' where I can activate an immersive mode but the nav-bar is auto hiding after some seconds and I don't want that. You can add extra buttons to the nav-bar in this App but I don't know any Keycode which hides the nav-bar. Is there even a Keycode who does this?!?
I can't believe that I can't find a solution to this problem I found apps who can hide the nav-bar and I found apps who can add extra buttons to the nav-bar. all of this without root. But how to combine this? Anyone?
Ty for your time
Greetings Mr 305
using custom nav bar:
1.
Create a new profile (called mine "immersive") check change immersive settings, hide which ever you want
add button (i used left), type = toggle profile, select immersive profile, i set icon to chevron up.
2.
go back to main screen, click nav bar, change immersive mode yes, but keep nav and status bar unchecked.
add same button, type = toggle profile, select immersive profile, I set the icon to chevron up.
This will give you a button that toggles between immersive and non immersive profiles, you can obviously make other changes to the main screen and profile seperately
Ty sir!!! Works like a charm

Hide Navbar like S8/Note8

Is there a way to hide navbar like S8/Note8. I mean the circle dot button on the corner of the navbar on my honor 8.
If it's not possible then can I get immersive mode in apps of my choice?

Good Lock's One-hand operation mode should be default!

After the last update I am confident to that the One-hand operation gestures that relies on the edge is mature enough to be the default way of navigation on coming Samsung phones and updates...
Horizontal Swipe - Back
Diagonal Down - Recents
Diagonal Up - Previous App
Long Diagonal Down - Screen Move Down
Long Diagonal Up - Screenshot
And the Home button is pressure sensitive anyway
I have found this to be the easiest and most intuitive..
Long horizontal swipe can accidentaly triggered very often...
I think this is the perfect setup... Any one else has any suggestions?
