Anything Google-related has to be d/l from the Google Play Store, which in turn, has to be side-loaded, as with all China market phones.
Regarding the native split screen, it only works with a very few apps.

I side loaded google Assistant and if need special permissions to work - I enabled them all and if works but:
There is a flashing red bar at the top of the screen saying google is using microphone and after a while the assistant stops working and I need to re-enable the permission again each time - any solution ?
its really stupid of VIVO to not support split screen to common apps like whatsapp and instagram etc. Infact the Android 7.0 Vivo Phones had support for major apps.
Has anyone figured out if its possible to remap the AI button to have Google Assistant come on instead of Jovi?

You can remap the JOVI button with this app,BUTTON REMAPPER :

However,YMMV regarding remapping it to Google Assistant (or some other apps/activities).
I'm currently using it to access/hide Quick Settings.

You can try this, it works with the notice for developers' options :
1. When the orange notice appears, go to settings.
2. Under "All Apps" find "Vivo services"
3. Force close it.
4. Clear VIvo Services' data
Please tell us if that works!

since two days ago I received my P8 Max DAV703 and I am very happy with it and organized everything so it became not so messy as before.
I installed Whatsapp, Google Chrome, MX Player, Netflix and so on and untill I noticed something.
Some apps are missing their alpha and they have white background. You know how the icon looks of Google Chrome?
Yeah, instead of nice round looking, they have the square white background. I don't know how to take screenshot
but some other have their alpha's and other not. Firefox does have its alpha. Does anyone know what's going on?
The phablet is not rooted if you have to know that.

It's how the built in launcher displays everything, I have dispensed with the built in one and use Nova Launcher (search on Play Store), this replaces the interface with a more "Android" experience.
What's the reason with this alpha missing in the built in launcher? Firefor icon shows it perfectly normal with alpha and Google Chrome not.
Weird and kinda annoying because those white bordered icons looks like iPhone's.

Never mind this "problem" anymore. I tried the other theme with those brownish/gold icons and then applied the 3D live theme by Dualboot games
and now it looks really nice.
Too bad I can't download themes from the theme's app from Huawei as the P8 Max says "You can't use your SIM with this service"

Put out the sim card, use a VPN Service (eg. Tunnelbear) with Hongkong IP then you can download all the Themes you want!

Works for me on my Xperia Z2. It's not a 64bit phone!!

I've seen something about Allo not encrypted unless you press the incognito mode. Not sure if it true or not though.
Also ALLO stores every conversation, no matter if you delete it.No thanks ,I d rather use WhatsApp.
I don't think it will ever replace Wapp / Messenger.
Make it the default Sms app on all new android phones. Encryption is obvious. There you go. Win for Google. This chat style **** doesn't fly in the US and will never catch on.

This is literally the only reason I don't use the app. Even if certain features were disabled when using this as a normal SMS app I'd be using it over the Google Messenger app.
Anyone know how I can move the Allo received content from internal storage to my external sd card? I'm sure I've read that before somewhere years ago? like a shortcut from the internal storage to the external card?
(I hope this makes sense when being read... it does in my head)

in Marshmallow, once you set up one-handed mode, you had the option of automatically reducing the keyboard, calculator, and dialpad. in Nougat, that feature is gone. i couldn't find it anywhere.

that's not what i mean. your screenshot reduces the whole screen, that does work fine. what i'm talking about is on Marshmallow, in the settings you could set that a dialer, calculator, and samsung keyboard would be resized automatically without actually resizing the screen like in your screenshot.

In recent apps, hold your finger in calculator tab, a square it will appear, drag the app inside of the square.
If don't show up that option, go to advance settings, multi window tab.

Sadly, I thought if the beta system is directly from Google then all the phones will have everything themselves. Unfortunately, I do not like the gestures of Oxygen OS at all, I prefer the navigation bar. Google gestures (like Pixel 2 / XL) are the best! It saddens me that MIX 2S has these gestures, and stock has MIUI, which is completely different..
You would have to go into the settings and enable it. The gestures are turned off by default.

getures not working is a bug in android p beta on oneplus 6
Do not install it for now, is a lot bugged i think you can see what's not working on oneplus official community forum
It is connected to Pixel launcher, so no gestures now

Unlock print feature is awesome, no more error for me and fast as Flash McQueen !!!
Updated as well. Fingerprint is really more fast and stable
I'm happy with this update. The fingerprint reader has really improved, I don't have to insert my thumb twice longer
Finger print is definitely faster but I dont know why VIVO not giving better quality in camera. Compression makes its photos lose sharpness like worst.
Nothing seems new. Same old, even fingerprint.

Fingerprint does seem a bit faster for me after the update. Glad they're still working on things for the international version. Fingers crossed for P soon.
Since this update I confirm that fingerprint detection works much better!
In my opinion, the reader works better, after the update I removed the prints and added again.
