LG G7 ThinQ Model LM-G710EM (UK/EU Unlocked Variant) on T-Mobile (USA) - LG G7 ThinQ Guides, News, & Discussion

I ordered an Unlocked LG G7 ThinQ, UK/EU Model LM-G710EM from Clove in the UK. (They remove the Region Lock by making a 30-minute call using a regional SIM card prior to shipment.)
Paid 500 GBP + 19 GBP for DHL shipping, or the equivalent of about $695.00 U.S. total. I've ordered phones from Clove at least 12 times over the past few years (pretty much all unlocked Sony's, with a couple of Samsung's too), and I've never had any issues; plus their packages always arrive in 2-3 business days from the UK to Las Vegas...super fast if you use DHL! (Just don't expect any warranty support for other-region models in the U.S., of course.)
It will arrive here this coming week, and I am going to try it out on T-Mobile here in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Now, it's hard to pin down exactly what LTE bands LG regional variants actually support, because there has historically been so much variation even within their same model numbers...so it's always a bit of a gamble.
But I believe that it should work well with T-Mobile here in the U.S., based on a picture that I found from an eBay seller of what his box reads for supported bands of this "GBR" variant of LM-G710EM:
View attachment 4521589
Even though all variants should include all of these bands hardware-wise, I don't believe that LG lists them all on the box unless they are actually supported by the regional software installed.
I am only really hoping for LTE Bands 2, 4, and 12 to work well...I don't personally care about 66 or 71.
So anyways...I will update after receipt and testing!
Cheers,
VegasRooted

I just got an LM-G710EMW and having no problems in the US with ATT LTE - box listed the plethora of bands included with the phone, I need dual SIM and Asian coverage for my frequent travels. Only complaint after a few days is battery life is ok (better than my S9 but still hard to get in a full day of heavy use without a charge) and you really have to physically touch and hold the back of the phone to a terminal to get it to recognize the NFC. Not the usual quick tap from other phones,

That's really great to hear on the LTE side, thanks for the info TGuy25!
Bummer on the weak NFC though...and the battery life. Hopefully the battery life will even out a bit, you know how new phones are in the first few days of use....

T-Mobile LTE Reception Results
So...I received the phone yesterday, but unfortunately Clove had forgotten to break the seal on the box and use a U.K/European SIM to make a 30-minute call, in order to remove the UK/EU Region Lock (considered a "Network Lock" by LG).
Oh well, at least the phone got here in two business days, as usual when using DHL Express; and I guess it was nice being the first one to actually break the seal and open the box. So...I didn't really feel like bothering to explain things to Clove and wait for their resolution, so I just ordered an unlock code last night from "The Unlocking Company" on their website. (I paid $14.00 for the code, which I received by email while I slept.) It took quite a few hours longer than their estimated timeframe for delivery of the code (likely LG's fault in providing the code to them in a timely manner after they requested it), but it was worth the wait: I successfully used it this morning to remove the Network Lock, and everything was good to go.
By the way, here is a picture of the label from my phone's box:

I had a chance to test out the phone's LTE reception today on a cross-town drive here in Las Vegas. I used the LTE Discovery app to log the T-Mobile bands that the phone used on my way from home in the northwest area of Las Vegas, down to the sportsbook at the Westgate Hotel & Casino (formerly the Las Vegas Hilton), and then back home again. The phone apparently used Band 2 (11 times), Band 4 (27 times), and even Band 12 (1 time). Here is a screencap of a portion of the log data:
So far (and it's only been less than one day), I'm quite satisfied with the cellular network and WiFi performance of this model, as well as it's bluetooth functionality. Wireless charging is also a go, using the built-in Qi pad in my Toyota Tacoma. (I have a Ringke Onyx case on the phone, and the wireless charging works fine through the case.)
Anyways, I really hope this information is helpful to anyone out there who may be considering an unlocked U.K./E.U. LG G7 ThinQ (Model # LM-G710EM) for use in the U.S. on T-Mobile. I would personally recommend it.

Does this model dual SIM? Does it support call making through WiFi? Please advise, thank you very much!

No, the LM-G710EM model is not dual-SIM, and it does not appear to support Wi-Fi calling without using a third-party app to do so. (No mention of Wi-Fi calling in any of the Settings menus, etc.)

do you notice a significant drop call problem or missing calls on this device when you using on T-mobile?
I love my G6 international version. The LTE data speeds is as good as or better than the T-Mobile device. The only problem I was having is the dropping voice calls, other than that it's all good.
So i am thinking to buy the G7 unlocked as well from outside of US since I feel that always better than the locked US model.
But I do concern that it might have the same situation as my G6 for the voice call.

No, I can't say that I've experienced even one dropped call yet; reception and signal strength have been solid. This is in Las Vegas, however; we have pretty great T-Mobile coverage here, so it depends on where you live as well. Having said that, when comparing it to the probably 20 different phones that I've tried out here in Las Vegas on T-Mobile over the past few years (mostly Sony), I would say that this G7 has been among the best. I would give it an 8 out of 10 for reception. (There have been a few Sony phones that I would give a "9" to, but they have always been great for me in that regard.)
Hope this helps!

The phone is capable of WiFi calling, bit thev options have been disabled in the phone's firmware. Unfortunately the network branded UK variant is the same

This model (LM-G710EM) is the Unlocked Global model, with regional U.K./E.U. software. It is NOT "network branded". It is 100% network unlocked, and has zero carrier bloatware/branding of any kind.
Now, you can buy "network branded" LG G7's within the U.K. (from carriers such as Three, EE, O2, etc.)...but this particular model is not one of theirs (though they may carry the same generic model number, which doesn't account for carrier/regional software variants); the model and software variant that I have is completely unlocked and unbranded.
Wi-Fi Calling is a feature specific to individual carrier capability, and as such, is not included in this unlocked, global variant of the LG G7. I am happy that this is the case, because I personally do not want Wi-Fi calling on any of my Unlocked Global phones; I consider it to be added-on bloatware in the settings menu for something that I'll never use.

The model number doesn't matter at all; what's important is the software variant installed on the phone. LG use the same model number for network branded and genetic models in the UK, bit install different firmwares on them, some of which may have WiFi calling etc enabled.

I placed the order online at 6:00pm on a Monday night, and received the code at 3:54am Tuesday morning. (So approximately 10 hours.)
They apparently are usually much faster than that, but I guess it all depends on how fast LG gets back to them on their request.

My mother lives in a T-mobile dead zone. Is there a work-around for wi-fi calling? It's the only way for me to make calls when I'm there.
Maybe a third party app, or flashing the t-mobile csc? A maniac on here got the Korean Note 8 fully working on T-mobile by flashing the US csc. Thanks!

Yay! Thread Killer! :\

This is this.

from a UNR loyalist, you may be able to flash your carriers modems through twrp once they are captured in an update. Once this is possible it removes the major obstacle to the cross flash rooting method

need help.. do i need sprint activation

I recently bought sprint gs5 with bad ESN. hence I dont live in usa, o thought this shouldnt be a problem.
Ok I received the phone, I managed to activate it with our locale cdma network " no sim card used "
But I noticed some features not available such as usb tethering, hotspot wifi calling, raoming section.
I updated to NE5 but problem exists.
I finallu rooted and installed MOAR rom, usb tethering still not available. However wifi calling was there but frozen! After defrozen it, when I press on it takes me to self test mode!!
Hotspot didnt work either, I get msg saying " insert sim card"
Any great developer plz help me with those issues, also are they related to sprint activation?? Any solution to bypass.
Thanx alot in advance.

This is an LTE phone so it will want a sim for some data stuff.
That said, because it's running sprint software and not on a sprint network many things simply won't work. You would need to flash it with different software probably or change various advanced settings.
The WiFi calling takes you to self-service because for Sprint it actually adds a feature to the users account and uses a third party provider sprint uses for the WiFi calling feature. This won't work with another provider. You would need that providers stuff.
Simply put don't expect a phone from one provider on another to work 100% or perfect. You would have been better to get an international version or one with generic software.
Beyond that can't help you any, maybe others can.

Bad ESN ALWAYS means its stolen in some way or another.
WHO KNEW IT WAS BAD ESN - Sprint Galaxy S5
I have just been scammed on Craigslist by buying a Samsung Galaxy S5….I checked all the things I could :-
the ESN on Swappa.com
checked that the seller had the box and all accessories
checked that the IMEI number matched on phone and box
saw a mail document for the seller with an address on it
got a receipt
paid a "normal" price that was slightly discounted
checked the hardware using Antutu and CPU-Z
made calls and texts from the phone
checked for internet connection
checked the fingerprint scanner and software version
Beyond all this what else could I have done? Now I have an expensive toy that Sprint won't let me activate what else can I do?

I suggest that you return the device to the seller and claim your refund. specially if they didn't infrom you it has bad ESN.

Many thanks for helping me YemenHero…..I can't contact the seller because this was a private sale through Craigslist and the only contact telephone number I have was attached to this phone and it is no longer in use. I cannot contact the seller by any means possible. The seller lied to me about the cellphone and so I'm stuck with trying to find solutions to recoup my money.
I am not xda knowledgeable so can you please help explain what DFS is?
Once again, many thanks.
Flashing it most likely won't help unless you're on a carrier that doesn't carry the same CDMA MEID blacklist as Sprint. Changing the MEID won't work here because of the IMEI certification being broken when you do it and therefore granting you no signal.

You will never be able to activate that phone on Sprint or get any help from them for it because of the bad ESN. It was blacklisted because it's stolen or the previous owner refused to pay their bill. You were foolish enough to buy it anyway, and you will have to deal with your poor judgment and crippled phone.

While people like me are foolish enough to buy phones (or any used item for that matter) please note that this is what often allows others to upgrade their phones and buy the latest technology. If this did not happen many people would not buy the latest products like s5 and the new technology would actually cost a lot more than it currently does.
When buying the S5 I took diligent steps including checking the esn with swappa.com and sprint. Getting the sellers details, checking out the functions of the phone and paying a reasonable market price were the other pieces of the puzzle. Apart from buying from a dealer what other steps would you have taken in this instance…..I would welcome advice on this issue because it is easy to pass judgement on those that have fallen to the scammers out there.
This post is about how to unlock so let's focus on working on this please……thanks.

There is nothing to focus on. You cannot unlock a Sprint S5 because it's CDMA. You would need to flash it and you cannot because there is no way to get past the IMEI certification. It is simply not possible.
My post was not aimed at you. It was aimed at the OP and other foolish people who know phone is blacklisted with a bad ESN but buy it anyway.

Hate to burst your CDMA bubble, but ever since the S4 all Sprint phones are domestic GSM CAPABLE. This doesn't mean that it'll work out of the box. A) the device needs to be internationally unlocked B) you must patch the domestic blacklist or bypass it completely through the service menu. I've domestically unlocked the Sprint S5, BUT it won't work because it's not internationally unlocked. As soon as that happens I'd be able to pop in a GSM SIM and get signal, guaranteed.
PS: To future posters please do not ask me how to domestically unlock the S5 unless you're going to share how to internationally unlock it. As mentioned above, a domestic unlock does nothing without the international unlock and by domestically unlocking your internationally locked phone you'd be wasting your time.

actually Yes, its same as sprint GS4, msl pwd is 000000. Just make sure you flash proper PRL for your network. Also make sure it support at least 3G data. I had to flash many PRLs till one worked fine with me.

I've ordered the Korean model of the s8 and got some questions

Hello xda!
I've searched the web but found nothing, my question as you might have guessed from the title is the following.
Is the s8+ like the s7 edge locked to a region ? And can someone who received there phone confirm this.
To be clear I don't mean sim lock but region lock.
Thanks

*Since September 2013, Samsung has implemented a 'region lock' on all new stock.
For correct operation, this handset should be activated inside one of these countries with a SIM card issued for use there. The device will then be able to accept SIM cards from outside of these countries.
Activation requires turning the device on for the first time & completing set-up with the SIM installed, then completing at least 5 minutes of voice call(s) with this SIM.
Without activation you may still use the device outside of these countries when 'roaming' - using a SIM card from the listed countries.
If this activation procedure is not followed then the device will lock when first attempted to be used with a SIM card from outside of these regions. Local Samsung support may provide a code to unlock such handsets.
**All member states of the E.E.A and the following additional territories: Albania, Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (F.Y.R.O.M), Monaco, Montenegro, San Marino, Serbia and Vatican City.
From what i understand you might need a sim from Korea to activate it once activated it will work worldwide with any sim card. i could be wrong but that’s how i think it works!
... watched a couple of unboxing videos but I've seen some models where the seal says "European Sim only" and factory seals where it just says the usual information about if seal is broken ...
I bought on Ebay the S8+ 128g and the seller said me it will be full unlock, i am in France, i receive it next week ... i will tell you ^^ ...

So what happened?
Does the activation call work if done with an european SIM but outside europe's network (i.e. roaming)?
I have the SM-955N Korean Telecom version. When I went to buy it, I asked them if they had any factory sealed. The owner said that's not possible, all exported Korean phones need to be opened and activated in Korea before exporting if you want them unlocked.
I can put in any sim card now (tested with a HK sim and Japanese sim). Both work fine, but need to do some service mode tinkering to get LTE to work.

Do they have a custom boot animation when they turn on, with the Korean carrier's name on it?

Are there any markings on the device? Like branding of the carrier?
Nope. There's a line at the back of the device that shows the model number, imei, and the letters KT but it's like very small font, you wouldn't be able to see it unless you looked for it

Confirmed I had to have my SM-955N unlocked and used in Korea before shipping. Also have the KT logo. Back is actually less busy than other versions without all the FCC, CE etc logos.

Did you have to go into service mode to unlock the LTE bands?
At the beginning I only got 3g but after going into service mode and playing with the network bands I somehow got LTE

No, but I live in China, it shows as "LTE+". Your region's mileage may vary.
I was going to make another thread, but then I saw this! I live in the US, have T-Mobile and bought a Samsung Galaxy S8+ off eBay from the Korean market. It says SK TELECOM. I currently have a lot of issues. I really regret my decision, but I'm trying to eliminate some possibilities. I spent days troubleshooting with T-Mobile and I not longer believe it to be an issue with them.
As N1NJATH3ORY pointed out, there may be a region lock. My phone appeared factory sealed. Although it doesn't say that I'm roaming or anything like that. My symptoms are: Unable to simultaneously use Data and Voice, phone calls taking approx. 15 minutes to go through and phone calls not being received and going directly to voicemail. Not to mention that some settings just are not available. For instance, Network Mode only shows me 2 options. "Use LTE when available" and "3G only". After talking with T-Mobile techs they mentioned for their phones they have one option that includes an auto-connect, LTE, 4G, 3G, Edge, etc. Since the phone is not originally a T-Mobile line, I could understand why I wouldn't see that. Still it seems very limited to only say "Use LTE when available".
There's also other things that are less pressing, but would be nice to have. Such as: Samsung Pay, WiFi Calling, VoLTE, Carrier Updates, get rid of mandatory camera shutter noise, more SOS features like US, etc.
For right now I would at least like a stable network connection for my phone. I fear I'll have to buy a new phone and have wasted the $1,200 I dropped on this phone. Despite the nice specs compare the US model, it's just not working out. In the meantime I'll be looking for answers / solutions.

Good question. A list would be nice for overseas consumers. However, Verizon does not support eSim in NA for the Pixel or any Android at this time. They will only allow it on the iPhone. Perhaps one day but don't hold your breath. As for NA the only one I know of is Google Fi which will support it out of the box. TM and Sprint make you jump through hoops it seems. Carriers are reluctant to allow this for some reason.
I am aware of the following:
Optus (yes) - Australia
Vodafone - Australia
Flexiroam - Global
Three - Hong Kong

Surprisingly Sprint was actually the easiest to activate my eSim with my Pixel 3a. I have the T-Mobile variant, which T-Mobile was nice enough to permanently unlock for me without it being fully paid off.
Once it was unlocked, I went into Mobile network, Google Fi and Sprint options appeared, tapped on Sprint, downloaded the SIM by logging into my Sprint account, and that was it. No QR codes to scan or any numbers to type in, it just de-registered my old Sprint device on the account and downloaded the Sprint eSim to my Pixel 3a.
at&t requires you to get a physical "card" with a uniquely generated QR code, that can't be re-used. It "may" cost $5 if you acquire one from a store. You can order a physical card with the QR code online as well, I just don't understand why they can't just deliver this to you electronically.
T-Mobile does require you to jump through hoops for eSIM; you may need to contact someone at T-Mobile to provide the EID number. This can cost up to $20 for an "assisted support" charge (basically a way for them to charge for eSIM). You can do it online for free without rep intervention, but currently it's very messy; a user wrote this tutorial on reddit on how to get it done, but this is way more work than I would expect most people to do. https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/comments/cvycd0/tutorial_how_to_activate_esim_through_the_tmobile/
As for Verizon, you're right; they only support iPhones at this time, who knows if it they will ever support eSIM on Pixels.
So for Pixel 3a, the following US carriers are supported at this time for eSIM:
Sprint - postpaid
at&t - postpaid and prepaid
T-Mobile - postpaid and prepaid
Verizon - N/A
Google Fi
Overall I'm happy with Sprint as my eSIM and at&t/Verizon as my physical sim for DSDS on the Pixel 3a.
awesome information. anyone please adding new information from carrier in your country. so i'm from indonesia , there's one provider have esim service from Smartfren, it is prepaid and what i know so far regarding this information you can convert from physical SIM to eSIM , i don't know if they asking for fee or not if you want a conversion. Similar to Verizon, they only support Iphone device at the moment.

Confusion.....
I posted a similar question on another forum:
The Pixel 3a and 3a XL with the release of Android 10 officially support Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS).
I have a $30/month AT&T number with 1 GB of data and a secondary (Tracfone on T-Mobile) number with 1 GB of data. Between the two, that's plenty of data for the month.
I used to keep both physical SIM cards in my old Nokia w/DSDS and would receive calls from both while choosing which one to use for outgoing calls, texts, and data.
AT&T supports eSIM and I thought I could duplicate the setup in the Pixel.
According to AT&T support, I can. I think. The guy’s English was nearly as bad as Trump's while tweeting on Adderall.
According to Google support, I can unless AT&T has some sort of policy preventing it.
According to the store manager at the local corporate-owned store, I can’t because both numbers need to be from the same carrier.
Porting the Tracfone number over to AT&T isn't an option because I'm not the one paying for the service.
I’m seriously thinking of porting my AT&T number over to Google Fi and switching carriers.
Not just because of the eSIM issue, but I’ve had problems with both Wi-Fi calling and call forwarding intermittently not working.
When I looked at the AT&T support forums, there were a ton of people *****ing about both things either working intermittently or not working at all.
Locally, Google Fi uses T-Mobile's towers and while T-Mobile's coverage has improved markedly in recent years, locally their network seems to be congested at times when I compare Speedtest results taken on the Nokia using both SIMs.
So my question to all of you is this: is it worth switching to Google Fi or should I get an eSIM from AT&T and hope that the store manager has no idea what she was talking about?
Additionally, do T-Mobile and/or Fi have the same issues AT&T does WRT call forwarding & WiFi calling?
The cost would be the same as long I keep to 1 GB or less data use on Fi.
I signed up for Fi on my 2nd Google account for a month just to test it out, and the DSDS works perfectly with both the AT&T and Tracfone physical SIM cards.

I had a chance to use Fi yesterday in the busiest shopping areas in town and T-Mobile's data service sucked.
If I wasn't getting timeout errors it was taking forever to load sites, and while AT&T's wasn't what I'd call superfast, the sites I visited would load without timing out.
T-Mobile's local coverage now is much better than when I tried it several years ago, but the network congestion is a concern.
Edit: added screencaps from Speedtest for both services today at home
It works
Update: I went ahead and had the AT&T eSIM installed, and it works just fine with the TracFone (T-Mobile) physical SIM using DSDS.
If I were a suspicious sort, I'd think she was trying to get me to Port the TracFone number to AT&T.

Support told me over the phone that I'd have to go to a company owned store (NOT an 'Authorized Reseller').
Honestly, all she did was register an eSIM QR code to the account and scan it in using the phone's add SIM option in settings.
I've read that if you argue enough with support, they'll snail mail you a card with the QR code, but I didn't feel like arguing over the phone.
Edit: here's a pic of the card she scanned and gave to me afterwards.
I blanked out the details.

They could have pointed you to a code on their website too. That's what Verizon does with iPhones. Silly of them to make you jump through hoops.
Using the esim of the provider blau.de in germany right now.
Kuwait - Ooredoo = working
Indonesia - Smartfren = not working
I tried to get Singapore Starhub eSIM but they don't allow me if I'm not using iPhone.
Austria - A1 = working
The MOST surprising that does NOT support eSIM (considering their online support is easily the best of any MVNO) - Tracfone.
Not only is their porting system the slickest I've ever used, it's one of the few (if not the only one) that ports Universal Lifeline numbers from anywhere in the US. (While they also have the triple-punch SIM package that supports all of the Big Four carriers - at the lowest price out there - adding e-SIM support alongside of that would certainly not be any sort of minus, considering that you can, in fact, purchase Pixel 3a smartphones from Tracfone; which is why I'm surprised that they don't support e-SIM as an option.)
Just activated the eSIM on a 3a with Sprint earlier this week, just as another poster mentioned, it was completely painless. Pulled the phone out of the box, started setup, connected to WiFI, chose Sprint, downloaded eSIM profile, and it was working immediately. Running Verizon in the physical SIM slot for voice only service, all data through Sprint. Seemed to work fine, though I haven't yet tested calling on the Verizon side.
I can confirm that Telstra (Australia) is working on the 3a. Please add a note to the spreadsheed for both Telstra and Optus that it is unofficially supported on the 3a. They both claim to only support iPhones, but it works if you get your hands on a QR code or the right support staff.
Dual Sim esim Pixel 3a INDIA
In India, Jio is working fine with my Google Fi. I've got a Google Fi Physical Sim and my esim is configured with Jio 4G. (Dual SIM working perfectly - Pixel 3a - Android 10). I've heard Airtel also supports esim.
Done adding Telstra and Jio to the spreadsheet.

Ordered a Pixel 5 from the google store for Verizon unlockable bootloader?

So I ordered the phone through the google store with the option to get the finance deal through verizon. I'm curious if I'm going to get a bootloader unlockable phone since I placed the order through the google store and the phone should be coming from google not verizon. I get the phone in a couple of days, I'll update this when I get it.
If you bought the VZW version, it will be locked, and is not unlockable.
Anything that comes with carrier discounts and financing will be locked.
Yes, that is usually the case although some will allow unlocking once the device is paid off. Verizon does not do that currently. Also it needs to be clear that Google sells 3 versions of Pixel 5 (and other Pixels). Google brand unlocked entirely, Google Fi also unlocked but serviced and warrantied by Fi, and the Verizon one which is not bl unlockable.
Well that sucks, but it's what I expected. The unlocked version of the phone would not work on Verizon's 5G network which is why I went in that direction instead. Oh well...
I have the unlocked version here rooted on Verizon via sim swap from my pixel 2, and I was able to connect with 5g

I believe the Verizon Pixel 5 can still connect to 5G but not Verizon's milometer wave 5G. My understanding is that mmWave 5G is just a much faster type of 5G that covers smaller areas (think football stadiums or major urban centers).
I was in the same position of choosing the VZW or unlocked version and went with unlocked because I really don't care too much about getting super-mega fast speeds in very precise locations (even though I'm in downtown NYC)

I don't believe that to be correct regarding the mmWave. In Europe that was the case and therefore the phone was less expensive by $100. But every P5 sold in the US has mmWave antennas in them and can connect to the Verizon high speed 5G. If you are in NYC I'd love to hear the speeds you're getting. I believe the city has it almost all over.
The VZW and unlocked P5 are the same price outside of any promotions so it really doesn't matter which you have. I have the Google one and my wife got the Verizon one on some crazy P3 trade-in deal. We both get 5G although not the high speed one. Yet. ;-)

This is not correct. 5G and mmWave connectivity are the same for Pixel 5 whether you get the Verizon or the non-Verizon version -- they are the same hardware model. The only difference is the locked bootloader when you get it from Verizon.
Check the Pixel 5 tech specs Network section and note that there is only one hardware model, which supports mmWave. (However, this is not the case for Pixel 4a 5G which has two hardware models, only one of which supports mmWave.)

Oh nice, well this is good to hear. I just did a quick speed test from my apartment and I get ~100mb/s down and 32mb/s up
After being with Verizon since can remember (25+ years) switched to AT&T and I am finally seeing 5g on my Pixel 5 since owning it since release day.
Though this does nothing for bootloader unlocking

Question Best Buy Model

Hey all,
I saw that Best Buy has the unlocked P7P model GA03453-US while the Google store version is GE2AE. Is there a difference between the models? I can't find the BB model on Google's or anyone else's site.
Just want to make sure it's had MMW 5G and that 5G will work on AT&T's site.
Would it also be worth buying an open box model in excellent condition and over $100 off?
Thanks!
I wish that they would stop doing these confusing model numbers at stores. The GA03453-US is actually the GE2AE, it's just how Best Buy and other retailers catalog the phone. I bought one on release day and can confirm it's the standard US unlocked GE2AE model and I'm using it with a Boost AT&T network SIM with no issues.

I agree with everything @EtherealRemnant said ⬆ right there. Google's not the only one, but certainly one of the brands I come across most often with this problem.
Edit: I forgot that I already have all the model number pairs in my Post #6 - Regarding P7P 5G model numbers and capabilities, and how to determine your hardware version, although I don't have them organized by pairs. The one model number type at the top of the post, and the other at the bottom.

Thanks guys. Just taking a look at the options. I was hoping to find someone that could unlock AT&T's but I'm not really finding anyone reputable that claims they can do it. So I'm thinking Google's offering the best deal with the trade in. I'm looking at getting the 256GB Obsidian.
AT&T's model is listed as the GE2AE if you look for how it's set up. Not sure if any sub-branding.
And I take it I'll actually be able to use AT&T's 5G if I buy out unlocked, correct?
Lastly, if either of you want to PM me a referral, I'd appreciate it.

I thought anyone with an at&t model could unlock once you pay the phone off, like t-mobile, but I'm not experienced, I've only bought carrier unlocked phones for the last six years and I had come from Verizon back then.
But it is indeed easiest not to have to deal with the carriers and just buy the factory carrier unlocked model direct from Google, or Best Buy, or other places that offer them.

Yep. We don't have C-band here but my Boost SIM is connected to 5G Nationwide and the phone supports mmWave and C-band.

I thought anyone with an at&t model could unlock once you pay the phone off, like t-mobile, but I'm not experienced, I've only bought carrier unlocked phones for the last six years and I had come from Verizon back then.

They'll do that. I just don't want to wait.
Not like I'd bolt to another carrier. We tried T-Mo last summer and that's a fiasco I never want to repeat. Plus AT&T gives me a really good deal with a FAN from work.

Understandable. I had to Google what AT&T FAN is. I didn't know the abbreviation off the top of my head, but Google's search results were actually helpful. I used to use a work discount too with AT&T and before that, one with Verizon. The last four years, give or take, we've just been using AT&T Prepaid, and it's been cheaper than all our previous options and works great for our usage. Every once in a while I look at other options or carriers, but there's nothing enticing enough.
