Adaptive Brightness Bug - Planet Gemini PDA Guides, News, & Discussion

if you have adaptive brightness enabled, adjusting volume via keyboard key, then tapping the screen while the volume dialog is still visible will disable adaptive brightess. not sure why. anyone else able to reproduce this?

looks like it happens even without touching the screen.

App to Map keys to control brightness (if you can't see something on display)

Is there a chance to map Volume keys (only when screen is on) to control brightness?

Long press of home sets full brightness?
Dimmed at night, the display might be not usable next day. To adjust brightness usually you have to see the touchscreen.
I have searched for such an app, but didn't found it. Do you know one?

Faint red (led) light next to camera when pressing the power button?

Has anyone noticed this, especially in the dark, whenever you'd press the power button to activate the screen again a dim red light can be seen right side of the camera. No idea what the purpose is as it's so dim...

It's the proximity sensor. Detects whenever an object is nearby and performs it's action. It's the sensor that's needed to turn the screen off when you have it up to your ear while on a call to prevent any accidental touches from your cheek. The reason it turns on when pressing the power button is due to the adaptive brightness setting if enabled. It automatically dims/lights the screen depending on the environment and ambient lighting around you. The proximity sensor is what controls that.

Equivalent of "mute" for brightness

Hi,
I have a bluetooth remote with buttons to increase, decrease and mute the volume. The corresponding key codes that the button send to the phone are 24, 25 and 164. Is there a way to "mute" the brightness? That is press one button and it sets the brightness to minimum, then press the same button (or a different button) and set the brightness back to maximum. I looked up the key codes for brightness and they are 220 for brightness down and 221 for brightness up. However brightness down or up decreases and increases the brightness by only one increment. I didn't find any key code that would "mute" the brightness. Does anybody know if it is possible to "mute" the brightness of a phone?

Cannot mute the device via volume rocker or the pull down menu - sticks on vibrate.

I can volume up and down into vibrate but thats the full range - pull down menu item flips between sound and vibrate only. I can however change it in the sound settings - anyone experience this before - It has to be software but for the life of me no idea what setting or possible conflict makes this happen. And randomly I will be able to do it with the rocker but most of the time vibrate is the lowest setting I can get the phone to change to without going into the settings panel.
