Not possible atm, usualy its in done in the launchers settings menu but its not present yet. Neither is it possible in the Google app. You may try another launcher like Nova or some similar launcher.

[REQUEST] [APP] Disable widget "movement" on home screens

I notice a lot that the widgets are very sensitive to touch. Often I'll try scrolling one or pushing something and it "peels off" the widget like I'm trying to move it around on the screen.
This is very frustrating. Is there any way that I can lock them down so they can be used but not moved? Any apps for this? If not, there should be.
Yes we need this!!!!
I haven't been able to find such an app, nor a setting on my phone.
However ..... You can go into accessibility an change the hold delay from short to long.. which should prevent most accidents..

Launcher App Home Button broken

I have a severe problem.
No default launcher and obviously no possibility to set an app as default.
No app I found is able to set a default launcher. Eg Launcher Switcher allows me to start an launcher but the Home-symbols are greyed out.
Hardware Home button does not work, longpress, double click does work, so it is no hardware fault.

Lock screen replacement on CM12

I've been running CM12 for a while now and the only thing I dislike about Lolipop is the lock screen. I really miss widgets and apps on my lock screen. I installed C Locker (Pro) which I had used on a different phone running KK and it works much better now on Lolipop. It is very customizable, I am using transparent clock/weather widget, calendar widget (Scrollable) and a number of app shortcuts. The only gotcha was I had to delete the Android guest account otherwise when I would unlock it would go to the Lolipop lock screen. You can setup up a lot of gesture actions, and click on the lock button turns the phone back off. Mine is probably gaudy and way too colorful for most but that's how I like it

I couldn't remember exactly so I went through it again
1- Switch user to the guest user in settings (have to go through initial setup for the guest user, I skipped everything I could in the setup process)
2- then go to back into the users in settings
3- instead of choosing your main user account to switch back to, select "remove Guest"
At this point, it switched me back to my original user, but the touch screen is not responsive
Pull battery and replace
once rebooted, go into C Locker, turn it off and then back on.
Then everything works fine.
The guest user will still show up in users, I guess it recreates it.
Hope this helps...

Thanks a lot for your quick reply but i found another way to disable it In Clocker ->Security->turn off default lock screen.. and you are done with it. But in this case you will miss out those beautiful floating notifications on lock screen.

Swipe up from homebutton to search

One of my favourite Android functions is the quick swipe up from the home button to access google now/search.
It doesn't seem to work on the Mediapad x2. But as this phone has so many semi-hidden functions (home/back/... order; DPI settings; ....), I was wondering if I missed a setting somewhere to turn this on?
(and an other minor gripe, accessibility -> Services: Whatever you turn on, doesn't stay on. It gets turned off after x amount of time. Is there a way to keep them turned on?)
Cheers,

accessibility is turned off when the relevant app is closed. If you set app background protected, it will nto go off. But yes on boot you have to re-enable accessibility unless you use tasker or automate.
I have another stupid issue with Emui3.1
When I tap on a notification in the notification center, most apps don't open. The notification bar goes away and I stay on my homescreen. e.g. with Google Photos, Facebook, ...
Is that also a switch somewhere I have to turn off?
(Damn, I hate that phone manager)

What are the hidden functions for Home/Back..?
Not really a hidden function, but you can change their order.
Pinch the home screen inward to access hidden apps. Or you can make that your app drawer.

How to turn off add icon to home when install app?

There is used to be an option in Play Store to stop automatically adding shortcut icon on the home screen everytime install a new app.
But it seems it has been removed in Play Store.
Anyone knows how to do that on HTC U11+ running Android 8?
Thanks in advance.

Do you mind to be more specific where exactly I should go to?
I don't see anything like home launcher under settings.
Thanks.

I have searched everywhere and still have not find it
On my Pixel c running Oreo you get to the option from the home screen. Press and hold on home screen (as you do to add widget) then choose settings.
Hope that helps.

It seems it is HTC hasn't implemented that setting in their Sense Home setting as google removed the setting from Play store and leave it to home screen launcher. HTC didn't do it, so we don't have such option.
