Super Slo-mo Mods. - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Themes, Apps, and Mods

Has anyone seen anything that can take more super slo-mo for longer than .2 seconds? I've got some good vids done, but would like at least a second of SSM. I have the room on my sd card, and internal mem, besides its only 720p.
Thanks

Nope the .2 seconds is a hardware limitation. No way around it.

You might have to resort to using the regular Slow-mo. That mode needs to be made visible from camera settings' mode options.

I didn't know it was a hardware limitation, thats interesting. Still very cool that it can pull it off though.
There are some after-the-fact tricks you can do to squeeze some more out of the footage though. If you get the video into an external editor (premier or whatever you use) you can slow it down slightly more. I dont know what frame rate it plays the slow motion back at, I would guess 30. If its 60 it will be even noticeably slower. You can lower this down to 24/25 frames per second. Most feature films and television programs are filmed at this frame rate, and Gavin Free (SlowMoGuys on YouTube) renders his videos at this frame rate to make them even slower

[Q] Can't film a Video with the Camcorder

Anyone else get the Can't Record a Video problem, set to 1280x720 and it works sometimes, but after the phones been on a while, it refuses to start recording...
If I restart the phone works fine..
Should I just get a class 10 memory card? think it is the speed? This is the 2nd Charge I have had with this problem.
I can't record 720p either, it says my memory card doesn't support it. Kinda BS that the card they include isn't fast enough to record at the advertised resolution.
Well that's whats weird.. It works like 50% of the time, but never seems to work when I need it. I wonder if just updating the filesystem to ext4 would help in this manner. I'm running completely stock at the moment, I'm headed out of town next week, and really need to make sure that it works.
When I get back I'll flash a debloated ee4, with lagfix enabled.. and will see if that helps at all.
1280*720
I recorded a few minutes at 1280*720 several times and found no issues, it actually looked pretty damn good.

Video recording low framerate

Hi.
Got a Desire S, but very disappointed about the framerate of the recorded videos.
The frame rate is about 11fps in indoors and 22fps outdoors.
Is there any way to get a constant 30fps, 24 atleast?

i would like to ask the same question?
anyone?
When I first tried the camcorder app on my DS I found the video seemed to be rather jerky, as opposed to just low frame rate.
I noticed that the 8GB SD card that was included with my package was a fairly slow one (class 2).
Now I've changed it for a 32GB Class 4 card, I'm sure that the video seems smoother. Perhaps it's my imagination. Results may vary etc ;-)
- Steve
Its not a software issue.. its the camera module which is a poor one! HTC used the same module which they had in desire ... Other hardware like gpu and CPU are capabale of handling 30fps but the camera module can't!
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App

I would agree with fasty regarding the sd card class issue. The one with the phone is only class two, and therefore only 2mb/sec write speed. I have a class six. Seems smooth enough to me, however I admit I have no idea of the fps. What app are you using to determine this?
Another contributing factor could be the sd card cache size on most roms. The stock rom had something daft like 128k. You can use an app called Sd-booster (root required) and bump it up to 2048k which also helps with read/write speeds.
Let me know of your fps app, and I'll let you know what I'm getting. If its still the same with a custom rom, kernel, class 6 card and decent sd card cache then it does point towards a pony camera module.
And all digital cameras performance will suffer as light levels drop. Don't think anything can be done about that.
Thanks for the reply man..
Im using the windows property bar at the bottom of the folder in windows 7 to determine the fps.
Bought a Transcend 8gb class 10 card today, but theres no improvement in the fps at all.
All I can do now it to root the phone and try the sd-booster. I've also got this app called Screencast & recorder, says that it give smoother fps but root required :\
Will check the results and get back to you, thanks again

Best Rom for Video Recording on O3D

I have never used Video Recording that much in the past. But when I try to video record in full HD, its drags in the video and in the sound. I am currently using ThiaizO3D v2.6.1 Prada on the phone. Seems to be the fastest rom thus far regarding the user interface. I'm not sure if it might be my memory card being to slow, or the connection speed between the memory card and the phone. My guess is that it can't store fast enough to the memory card, which is just weird.
It must be something wrong with my phone as everyone with a custom rom can't be facing this issue.

Most ppl have problems with full hd recording.
I have never tried any ROMS other than stock. Here is a video I uploaded yesterday http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_PA...DvjVQa1PpcFNKYqrD6lQvA41K63hRFbV-VRZR4tRiMtU= in FULL HD. Shot with my Optimus 3D.
Stringer2u, Its the first time I actually used the video recorder on my phone, as i never actually test with stock rom. As the custom rom's made my phone as fast as my brothers Iphone 4s, I decided to keep it. Custom roms seem to run much faster, but this downfall of the video camera struggling to keep up is not good. It might also have to do with the fact that i was video recording a live dancing show with very fast movements and loud sound. It shouldn't affect it tho.
Thanks for the video up;pad. Watching it at the moment. Might consider downgrading back to stock rom. ThiaizO3D rom's have really grown on me tho.

Could you record continuous video of full hd for about 2 minutes. Your video is from chopped bits. Stuttering starts about 30 seconds to 1 minute of continuous recording, not 5 seconds bits.
Figured out some interesting things.
If you select to store to device instead of memory card, seems to work perfectly. Not sure why, but it seems much better. Going to run full tests tomorrow to ensure that it is 100% working. Will make me super happy. Just that there is limited space available on the phone memory.

I used to have that problem to i used to have a class 4 16gb card it used to lagg like a biatch and then when i switched to internal it works perfect.. Anyway i invested in a 32GB class ten Lexar card and it is blazing fast 18.8MB write speed and 20MB read speed so now when i take Full 1080p videos they don't become choppy it is amazing and smooth as hell..
I have a-data 16gb c10 card. Video lags, on internal memory even more.
Rushdroid with titan kernel 3,1 @ 1,4 GHz
I have a 32gb class10 Samsung card. 3d 720p recording lags using internal or external SD. I'm on stock v21e. Rooting and overclocking the device didn't make a difference. Using SD booster increased the write speed (in the numbers) but had no real effect on video recording. I don't know if applying the "V6 Supercharger" script by zeppelinrox will have any positive effect.
I wonder, is there a way to decrease the bitrate of captured video (even if that means lowering the framerate to 24)?

defcomg, thank you! Your contribution to this community is highly notable! Tell me please, have you tried shooting in 720p 3D continuously for more than a couple of minutes and still got no lag? I'm waiting for xbsall's modified ROM to install.

Unlimited 4k video recording instead of limited to 10 minutes?

Hi Community,
is there any way to unlimit the 4k recording limit of 10 minutes?
i know the sensor/phone can be getting hot, but i just want to know if this is software releated or not.
any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Use a 3rd party camera app.
Thanks, but I want to know the way how to mod stock camera. Tried lots of 3rs party cams, I didn't like one of them.
I don't think there is but strangely enough on QHD I no longer have a limit. I was at Disney last week recording lots of video using various modes and I noticed when I used QHD it wasn't limited anymore. I don't know what I did or how it happened but I don't think it's supposed to be that way. I distinctly remember the limit being there when I first got to Disney and like the 2nd day in it was gone. 4k and 1080p 60fps still have the limit though. Wish I knew what I did so I could remove it from those modes too. My phone actually did overheat in QHD after about 5 minutes when I was recording a parade in the hot sunlight and I had to wait about 5 minutes before it would start again. I recorded a 33 minute video in QHD without stopping indoors though.

Laggy videos at 1080p 30fps

I have some serious lag when shooting at 1080p 30fps. My device simply cannot make smooth videos, each of them is laggy. At least 1 frame always drops after some seconds. When I started using it 1 month ago, it wasn't the same, but now I just can't record videos with this phone. Anyone else experiencing that?
This phone has just stopped being capable of making videos - again. The situation is even worse than it was in the beginnings. The Miui 12 update brought back all the laggy stuttering, i just simply cannot shoot useful videos with the phone now, again. As it was mentioned before, it was usable in the last months - as much as i can remember, the problem was solved by the A10 update. But now, this phone is a crap when it comes to creating videos. (Both 1080p and 4k 30 fps.)
I've really had enough, f*ck xiaomi and this crap phone, they sell it as a cameraphone, and still, in 2020 this device is unable of making real motion picture. Their update policy is shocking, how can an upgrade ruin a basic function like that? It is ridicolous that xiaomi is unable to build phones that are capable of shooting smooth videos. I'm really tired of it, time to say this company ciao, and evade their phones - whatever they promise in their ads.
yes her same lag on 1080p 30fps im on miui 11.0.5 china stable

My MIUI is Global 11.0.12.0 Stable
Same here.
Also opening the camera app and switching from photo to video takes toooo damn long. Like 3/5 seconds. Insane.

Am on 11.0.12.0 and 30fps is fine, no frame drop, i hope what you mean by laggy is not the stabilizing motion in effect when recording. (The counter movement by the image stabilization to prevent shake, it sometimes looks like if the video is delayed in movement)

No, it is simply laggy. Maybe I should upload a sample somewhere.
I tried to play these videos on different PC-s using different media player programs, but still, most of them are laggy. And my Mi Note 10 simply can't play its own videos without lag/framedrop, no matter which resolution/fps I record at. Is it playing its own videos smoothly for you?
(In some videos, it is just a playback error (which is not OK at all), because when I play them on my PC, they're OK. But in most of the videos, there is lag, framedrops at the same time, no matter, which program I use.)
Here are some short samples recorded at 1080p 30 fps. No matter, in which media player program/app I play them, no matter on which PC or which smartphone, there are lags (or framedrops) at the same moments of the videos. 9 out of 10 videos are like these or worse when I shoot with Xiaomi Mi Note 10 unfortunately. Is it just me, or does anyone else experience these problems?
1.: https://youtu.be/hkVcvmzvW2w
Some lag while turning around, especially in the first half of the video.
2.: https://youtu.be/EwePHqHtF4w
It can be clearly seen in the first part of the video, it's like if it stopped for some moments.
3.: https://youtu.be/N9Ceo6_8s7E
Wait until the 2nd half of the video, when it turns back, there are some major lags.
I also have the same issues
I also have the same issues in particular in 4K photography - really disappointing I bought the phone because of the camera and it was a bad choice. And most YouTube reviewers have hidden the problem because they are profiting from sales - shame !!

Exactly, same here. Now I regret buying it, I should sell it.
In 4K and 1080p 60 fps it's even worse, much much worse. These functions are simply useless.
i just hope i can replicate your issue. but i can't. recording went just fine. probably something buggy in rom, kernel, app, not sure.
I always use 60fps so it's not a problem for me but it's just the 4k which is not smooth at all but I don't have noticable stutter issues or frame drops. Hopefully we can see a stable 4K soon. This is a sample of my device.

I understand you have the Mi Note 10? Do you recommend it?
Video is not laggy? Other bugs?
I have the same issue since i got the phone, it lags in video recording while panning whoever it feels like, i have experienced lag in 1080p 30fps and 60fps and in 4k is worse, i hope xiaomi updates this, btw using the Gcam mod from Urnyx i can record without lags but using only the main camera.
