BOGO Deal - Verizon - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Guides, News, & Discussion

So saw this news this morning. Verizon is doing a BOGO deal on the S9/S9+ as long as a new line is added to your plan. Seems like Best Buy is also offering the same deal that Verizon is with their mobile department. So guess sales figures haven't been great with the pre-orders so they are doing other incentives now.
Hopefully works in my favor since I'm adding a line (my phone) to a plan so we'll see how it works since I got on the pre-order for 2x S9+'s and got the $100 (really $115 off) from Best Buy getting the Verizon version of the phone.

Sprint was also doing the deal I saw. And yes deal even applies with the Best Buy $100 off pre order promo.

Amazon has the LG G3 for just $0.01 on a 2yr Contract!

Just wanted to notify everyone that the LG G3 on Amazon with a 2yr contract from AT&T is just $0.01 compared to $199.99 on AT&T's website.

FYI: This is through Amazon for the $0.01 device and through AT&T for the phone service. This is the on-contract price, not off-contract.
Dang - that is a great price! I thought $99 was a great price when I bought it, but it is totally worth the $0.01 price. For most people, that puts the total expense right in line with the Oneplus One. However, I think the G3 is superior to the OPO in everyway except battery life. That issue is easily solved by getting a 2nd battery for the G3 (the OPO doesn't have a removable battery).
On AT&T for example, you get a $15/mo discount for bringing your own phone. That's $360 over a two year period of time. If you only pay $0.01 for the phone, then your "cost" is $360.01. The OPO is about $380 shipped, which is actually more than the G3 total cost after two years.

Actually you don't bring your own phone. Amazon sends it to you but AT&T is the one still providing the device, it's just Amazon's pricing.

I was simply comparing the overall cost of the G3 vs the OPO. You obviously won't get the BYOD discount with the on-contract G3........
Oh, I see what you meant. Never mind then.

I think you can get your $50 back because of their low price guarantee.
I just pulled the trigger on this deal, to hard to pass up. I'm coming from a Galaxy Note 2 that still runs great was going to update to the note 4 until I saw that they don't think they're going to be able to root it or unlock it and I can't have that
Just an FYI amazon will make you switch to a currently offered plan. You can't keep old plans. If you already have mobile share or an up to date plan then this is a great deal.
However, the G3 will also be free on contract (some places a penny, some a dollar, but you get the point) at Best Buy, Costco, RadioShack, and probably just about every other reseller on black friday, most of the big guys like best buy will probably have it all weekend.
So if you want to do anything special with a plan you can get it then too, and they can keep you on outdated plans.

Actually is a$25/mo discount on 15gb plan. It's cheaper to get on NEXT pricing vs contract because of the $40 upgrade fee. $25 x 24mo is $600 +.99c contract +$40upgrade fee = 641.
Next is the $580 over installments plus tax

[Q] Too good to be true Sprint Deal for Students?

In 2013 I took advantage of a best buy/sprint promotion where I bought a new phone with cash and received a free year of unlimited calling and text service from sprint.
I added on the $10 unlimited data option but otherwise the only other cost was insurance and taxes so my bill was just over $20.
I am a week from this awesome deal ending so I called sprint to see what my options are.
They told me if I buy a new phone through the easy-pay system where I pay on a new phone for 24 months I can stay in the current promo.
I have to say that having free unlimited calling and text (a $50 value) per month is very attractive if true.
Just seems like it is too good to be true to me. I would have to purchase my phone through Best Buy but they told me I had to use the easy-pay 24 month system and not pay for the phone in full to do this.
If this is true I can see either a galaxy note 4 ($30 a month) or a galaxy note edge ($35 a month) in my very near future and I would be selling (Or trading in) my current note 3.
Anyone know for sure? Think I am stopping at best buy tomorrow to see...

Bestbuy Preorders for Verizon

Hey so I was thinking about preordering from bestbuy but i noticed on their website, they have the unlocked s6 for 750, while verizon has it for 600. What prices have people around here been getting the verizon one for from bestbuy?

They usually can price match Verizon corporate price.
Best Buy on Elston in Chicago was selling pre-orders with included charging dock, but unfortunately, had no 128GB SKUS whatsoever. By the way, does anyone know where we can pre-order off-contract S6 Edge's?

You should be able to pre-order off-contract S6's and S6 Edge's anywhere (carrier stores, carrier website, best buy website, best buy stores)

People are saying that the off-contract prices at Best Buy are $150 more than at VZW, but that certainly wasn't the case for me. See http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/31391i/free_wireless_charger_at_best_buy_for_pre_order/

Yes Best Buy's prices are $150 more than Verizon, however I've heard they're price matching. Seems silly to me, plus you're more likely to get it in your hand sooner if you pre order from verizon

Right. But, if they are price matching (which they were at my location), then I'd rather go with Best Buy and get the free wireless charger, which is $60.
So i did my research and talked to a few bb employee friends and they do not price match off contract pricing. Anyone that says they will is probably just saying that, and they'll most likely give you a hard time when you go on the 10th to pay full price. Of course, you can be an exception though.
Anyways, submit my preorder with vzw and ordered a 20$ wireless charger from amazon.
I questioned a Best Buy employee yesterday to verify my full retail price and questioned the price being $150 more. He assured me they would price match the Verizon "Edge" price which in my case was $699 for the 64GB. He offered to give me a written price quote to avoid any confusion on release day and I took him up on it.
Now obviously there is no guarantee that any of that will prevent them from trying to over charge me when it's released but I feel okay about it.
I also questioned him about the Verizon release date and if they'd have it ON that date. He told me they were planning on an April 10th release date unless they get a "push back" date from a Verizon. He said if that's the case it'll be the same for everyone including Verizon. He said the only thing that would prevent someone from getting a pre-order ON that release date would be a lack of supply. He said this was an issue with the Note 4 but he wasn't sure if it was something they'd have an issue with for the S6.
Again none of this really means anything and it's no guarantee but hopefully it'll provide some comfort for those of us who have already preordered from Best Buy.
Hi Verizon users, does the S6 work for T-Mobile's LTE frequencies? I really want to ditch my Note 4, but I honestly cannot tell because I feel like the bands are lower, but I hear the S6 is unlocked though Verizon. Is this true?
Just letting everyone know that if your getting the 2051 error code that they "VZW/bb" know about lol but don't about"know anything " about. At the last step your billing pass is not you acct login pass. It's the last 4 of you ss. Even though you put your ssss above.
Also beware, do not pay off your edge plan over the phone in order to edge up. You will be in limbo for a month. I was in best buy last Wednesday night to pre order and what I wanted to do was keep my Droid Turbo so I was paying it off completely. At the advice of the person at best buy he told me to call 611 and do the transaction, so I did. The Customer service rep took my payment knowing what I was trying to do and he told me I was good to start a new edge plan. Well no the only way you can pay off your edge plan is to go to a Corp store but no one told me this and now I can't get any phone unless I buy it out right for 30 days.
They could price match verizon corporate price.
This morning I got an email saying my order was delayed until May 7th, then 4 hours later got an email saying my order had shipped. Glad I didn't cancel.
they shippped the wireless charger not the phone......atleast for me.

I went in to pay full price and they told me they could not match Verizon's price. I was told that it was less than their cost. I call B.S. on that but either way, I had then refund my gift card and went and bought it at Verizon.

Said it shipped phone just now, 6 hours after the charger shipped. Looks like Monday or Tuesday for delivery.

I finally got around to logging into Best Buy, it looks like I'm only getting the wireless charger on Monday too. Unlike your later post, my phone still hasn't shipped.
Anyone know when BB will get the gold in? I picked up on 4/10, but 32 white. Really want the gold. Hoping it comes in within the next two weeks.
Bestbuy Sucks
I pre-ordered from bUstbuy. I got an email stating i can pick up my pre-order on 4/10/15. I went by the store to pick up my phone and they said. Verizon is not selling that phone until 4/17.
i argued with the guy for a few minutes and asked why i got the email from their company saying my order was ready for pickup.
He started getting kinda irate about me questioning him. he about yelled at me that Verizon stores are not selling the phone until 4/17......
So i left bUstbuy and went across the street to verizon and picked up my new 64gb white S6.
F- Bustbuy... they'll never get my business again.

Best place to buy GS6 from

Hi,
Can people post the best places as far as bonus deals or discounts, where to order the GS6 from?
I'm upgrade eligible on my Verizon More everything plan (I want to lock into a new 2 year contract) is there any site that will offer the phone for less than $199? (or rather less than $299 for the 64gb model?) or at least bundle with it some free accessories?
(a few years ago I bought my GS3 from Amazon wireless for $50 less than VZW.com, but haven't come across any sites offering discounts for the GS6 yet)

Try Costco. They might have some special offers/deals/discounts. (Usually, they do)

Um, maybe Sam's Club?
Go directly through Verizon. They have a $100 trade in credit when you are buying the gs6 when you trade in any good working condition smartphone. $150 for the gs4, & $200 for the GS5. They also have a promo on the Galaxy tab S, and some gear watch, don't recall which one.
Best Buy is giving away a Samsung Qi wireless charger with the phone right now. Plus they have the same trade-in offer as Verizon, but it's in the form of a Best Buy gift card.
I ordered from Costco and they had a $30 gift card but it ended yesterday. That almost covers upgrade charge. I can wait until next week to get the phone.
Here's the amazing deal I just got from Verizon. Try to follow along. Verizon has this "edge" program, where you sign a 2 year contract and can pay for the phone monthly over two years. The gs6 is $600 so it'd be 25 bucks a month. The kicker; they give you 25 bucks off your phone bill each month if you get the 6 gb plan (which is currently the same price for a 4gb plan). So I paid the tax on the phone and walked out of the store basically never paying for it again. On top of that, the rep told me to bring my w2 in and I'll get a 20% monthly discount for working in a hospital. Ask what other discounts they might have!

Verizon trade in for a V20 from a V10

Today I received a warranty replacement for my old V10 due to image retention (shadows from a previous web page for instance carrying over to a new page). Asurion shipped the new device in a day. When I bought the V20 a few weeks ago Verizon were offering a $300 trade in credit for the V10 if you were paying off the new phone over 24 months. Basically you get $12.50 knocked off your bill each month. I went over to EBay and checked the prices in new and used V10s. Basically this is such a niche phone that there are not a lot of phones listed for Verizon and not a lot of buyers. The highest bids were in the $200 range....for a phone I paid $600 for only 12 months earlier!
so obviously the Verizon deal was the way to go...
but...they still get you! If I decide to upgrade to the new LG flagship phone in a year, requiring me to pay off the balance of what is owed on the phone in one shot (ouch),....I still lose the remaining monthly credits for the $300! Grr.....
I checked the "market value" for the V10 on the Verizon receipt and they claim its worth only $95?!
so basically I have to keep this phone for at least 16 months to recover $200 on the V10 and have to shell out $224 to pay off the phone and get on a new installment plan.
Score one point to the iPhone and Samsung team they cant possibly be getting hammered this bad. I guess the aggressive v10 promotion (200 SD card and battery kit -- $250 value) on top of the Verizon $100 instant rebate made the V10 worthwhile.
