AI scene recognition and camera parameters - Honor View 10 Questions & Answers

Is there any information about what exact parameters camera uses for each of 13 recognizeble scenes? E.g., does the camera try to increase shutter speed in 'Performance' mode to prevent motion blur? Or does the camera use scene recognition for post-processing only?

You can control shutter speed in the stock camera app by switching to "Slow Shutter" mode and then setting a duration in the app's settings. You can a wider range of shutter speeds by using CameraNext Modded, the ColorOS Camera Port, or the Modified ColorOS Camera Port.
The aperture can't be tuned because it's fixed in the hardware. You have to change ISO if you want to change the brightness and use focus stacking (i.e. multi-image post processing) if you want a wider depth of field.
Thank you sir

[Q] HDR

Trying to shoot HDR but surprised that the only parameters that can be used to apply the exposure changes are ISO & shutter speed. Where is the aperture priority? Surely both of these change the aperture &, therefore, affect the depth of field & focussing of the HDR series? Am I missing something here?
Best,
Ray

Nokia 6 can shoot RAW (.dng), even from the front camera!

You can access the camera2 api of Nokia 6 with apps like opencamera or manual camera (this app is fantastic) and shoot RAW from both the front and back cameras.
There are also some more benefits like
- full manual focus
- iso adjustment upto 1600
- shutter speed adjustment upto 0.6s
- exposure bracketing shooting mode
- Kelvin based smooth WB slider
- realtime luminance and RGB histogram
etc
I've seen that shooting in RAW allows for suprisingly high dynamic range. The flexibility of being able to shoot RAW from the front camera along with autofocus (or manual) should highly appeal to selfie lovers
Been using the Adobe Lightroom app ?

Exposure is longer than 1/10 second

Hello! Shutter speed is important for shooting night landscapes. The developers have limited the maximum shutter speed to 1/10 second. Therefore, automation puts a large ISO. Noise reduction turns parts into spots. Night photos from the A8 look much worse than on phones (cheaper) with the possibility of long exposure.
Is it possible to modify the software to remove the exposure limit? Third-party applications using the camera 2 api do not provide such an opportunity...

Try with Open Camera: https://opencamera.sourceforge.io
Try the manual mode Exposure compensation, ISO and Manual White Balance.
Quote from the FAQ:
ISO and shutter speed sliders - If Camera2 API is used, and a non-auto ISO mode is selected, instead of the exposure compensation sliders, two sliders will appear allowing you to control the ISO more finely, and (if supported) the exposure (shutter speed) time.

Question Camera qualitty

Hello,
What do you think about camera quality of main sensor?
My observations:
result are overexposed
mnissing (a lot) exposure compensation in settings
white balance works flawlessly
too agressive postprocessing
missing manual focus
missing manually take exposition
missing PRO mode
indoor photo isn´t good
By my opinion, camera output is little worse than output from my previous Xiaomi Mi A3 with GCam 7.3 port by Burial.

Google camea does not feature a Pro mode. It's a point and shoot camera setup for the average user.
Otherwise you can try a different GCam port from BSG, Shahim or BigKaka with the proper config file and see what suits you best!
