Damn you autocorrect ???. Thanks man for answering

This depends on your region. It does not void EU warranty.
Edit: see https://www.piana.eu/root/ for source

Not void..

I think in india it voids the warranty

Mostly they want developers to work on kirin based soc and so they made open source program for developers and so that community will buy more handset cause they will become developer friendly... Sad part is they haven't yet released factory images and unlocking bootloader void warranty... Xiaomi doesn't void warranty but the unlock process is quite time consuming likely 1 week... And xiaomi release fast boot images to flash stock MIUI.. Main problem with xiaomi is they don't release kernel source for long time ( mostly they release when they are about to launch new devices ) and when they release they are useless or to say insufficient/incomplete...

No it's people her accept that when you mess with your device like this then anything that happens is your own fault. No oem should have to fix what users break. This is just common knowledge as well as being an adult.

General questions before i get the phone

Hi,
I have had to get a new phone and have decided on the honor 8 due to specs and vides i have watched, also the price it retails for was a big factor how ever i have come from the LG G3 (it set on fire -_-)
Is it worth me unlocking the boot loader and what exactly are the benefits to it ?
I will want to root the phone as i use apps that require this will i void warranty or will i be able to undo this and keep warranty ?
Also i do like the TWRP i had on my G3 but only for the backup option, is it worth me changing the recovery as i have noticed no custom roms anyway and by the looks there is a tool that i can use for backups ?
Thanks for reading
Unlocking bootloader won't get you much (only custom recovery now).
Honor don't void warranty if you unlock the bootloader or root the device
And for me, it's not worth to flash TWRP now, no custom ROMs and it doesn't work with all models
perfect thank you for the response that everything i need to know, now im just waiting as i have 24 hours before my phone is delivered aha.
Enjoy
Don't unlock your bootloader and just enjoy your phone as much as possible at this stage.
Unlock maybe 1 year later...

We always warn our users, if you want to change the bootloader code or root the phone -- the warranty will be void. (NS)

Well...at least having root is a start. That way he can install root apps. It was like that on a few devices I had, but was grateful on at least having root. IMJS

What is the benefits of Google assistant? It sounds like an annoying app that I would uninstall as fast as I can say "bloatware"
But I don't know the app so that's why I'm asking

It requires to unlock bootloader and it will trigger Knox, so yes it will void warranty.

When the dev releases it
Can you please tell me an estimate of when they will release it? I am patient and I can wait even if it takes a really long time, I just want to know if I should be prepared to wait like one week/one month or more like six months/one year?

I'm not the dev so it's just a guess - 100 years
I am asking a serious question. Why are you kidding with me?

Research the subject on Google's you'll find more info there.
The only one who knows if and when it will be released is the dev so asking anyone else here is pointless as we don't know.
Never ask for ETAs. EVER.

You have ruled out the official methods, and I have no other idea. Since your bootloader is still locked, you may have very few options. If you can unlock the bootloader, then you could install a custom ROM. Otherwise, you might want to take it to a Xiaomi shop (I guess they will need clear evidence that this is actually your phone (ie, proof of purchase)).
Go to nearby mi centre or any local shop they gonna fix it.
As explained by others, you need some proof of purchase bill for that, I guess.

This thread is obviously going nowhere and its just one big flame war and for that i closed it.
OP you have been given advice you need to return to the manufacture for your defective device. I would seriously look into that. Please don't open another thread and be combative nor post things that might get you and us in trouble.
Thanks
Wolf
