H932 T-Mobile V30 Original USB-C Cable Does Not Support Fast Charging? - LG V30 Accessories

I bought a new T-Mobile V30 on Swappa, and noticed I don't have Fast Charging working. The white USB-C cable is thin, short (under 3 feet), and appears to be USB2.0. Is this the cable other T-Mobile V30 owners have? I found it weird that original charger support QC3.0, but the cable does not. I tried a USB3.1 cable, and sure enough, the Fast Charging is working. I am wondering if the seller swapped out my original USB-C cable.

I have the H933 and it came with the white cable you mentioned above. I bought a cheap 15watt wireless charger from Amazon, and it does not report fast charging. I assumed it was because of the product, now I'll have to try a different cable!

It seems T-mobile cheap out on the USB-C cable and gives us a USB2.0 cable that does not support Quick Charge. The original charger is a Quick Charge 3.0 charger (18W I believe), so you don't really need another charger unless you want multiple ports. I bought some cheap USB3.1 cables on Amazon to use with the original charger and my phone does report Fast Charging.

Why is T-Mobile responsible for what LG puts in the box? The garbage cable included with any model of V30 and V30+ are what LG ships the unit with! I personally haven't used the cable that came with either of mine or the wall charger. I do have a few premium cables on my desk though that use a powered USB 3.0 hub to charge my devices. Amazon and MonoPrice will have some cheap and better solutions than the crap that came in the box.

Well, I am not 100% sure, but given each carrier model of V30 have slightly different accessories, the carriers probably have a say on what accessories included in the box. I agree the cable is crap, but the included charger is a QC3.0 charger so it probably beats a non-QC USB3.0 hub for fast charging.

The only accessory that differs are the headphones. You get them with the V30+ and don't with the V30. I can't remember if the headphones are different overseas than the ones you get in North America but I doubt there is much difference, if any.

wall charger

hey guys
i had a nexus 6 and have a bunch of QC 2.0 chargers
now that i have a 6P, can i still use the wall adapters and plug in a full size usb to usb 3 cable into the wall adapter?
does the wattage of the adapter work? or should i look to buy a new one with a usb c port
thanks
It'll charge, but not at full speed since the 6p isn't QC certified. You'll have to get usb-c chargers that can deliver 5v/3a
whats the best charger i can get on amazon? not just cable
I use this one:
http://www.amazon.com/SONEic-Type-C-Charger-Devices-Included/dp/B017BVLLC6
It's identical OEM charger that shipped with the 6p/5x, just rebranded.
so thats the same price as https://store.google.com/product/usb_c_charger darn... nothing cheaper on amazon!
Awesome thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for. Because I didn't like the ones in the Google store. I wanted another of what it shipped with.

Nexus 6P original adapter charging vs. third-party chargers charging
Hi, here are some points for Nexus 6P charging and Quick Charge 2.0:
1. Nexus 6P doesn't support Quick Charge 2.0/3.0, but its original adapter supports 5V/3A charging, actually the speed is even faster than Quick Charge 2.0 18W maximum power (6P original adapter charging efficiency is better than Quick Charge 2.0)
2. Mainstream Quick Charge 2.0 port is USB-A port, you can use a USB-A to USB-C cable to charge your Nexus 6P. But be sure to use the qualified cable, you should choose the USB-A to USB-C cable with 56K Rp, about how to choose type-c cable, you can refer to Google engineer Benson, he reviewed nearly all the type-c cables on market, see https://plus.google.com/+BensonLeung
3. Original Nexus 6P original adapter is with female Type-C port and a type-c to type-c cable, so you'd choose similar format third-party chargers. I found some female type-c charger adapter is also with Quick Charge 3.0.
4. Here there is a Nexus 6P charging analysis http://www.tronsmart.com/nexus-6p-charging-analysis by Tronsmart, although it seems an ads by Tronsmart, it offer some important info about Nexus 6P charging, maybe it is useful for you.
That is what I know, any question or opinion, let's discuss.

You happen to know if there is an EU plug available for this charger? I can't seem to find anything other than US plug.
I use this Anker multi port charger, it has a native USB C port, plus 4 regular USB ports. With a total of 40W, I can charge a lot of things at the same time, and it's the best solution for travel. The cable is detachable, so you should be able to find a European AC cable for it

Any recommendations on the best car charger?

Hey all, just acquired my new Pixel XL. It's my first USB-c device so need to get some new cables... I was looking at USB-c car chargers on Amazon but not seeing any rave reviews on much. Do you all have any recommendations? Is there a certain standard of charger that is best for the Pixel (I.e. quick charge 2.0 or 3.0 etc)?
Thanks everyone for your input

Shout out to @Nathan-K and Benson. I've spent hours reading their G+ pages and Amazon reviews and I'm blown away by the work they're doing trying to hold manufacturers accountable and keep consumers safe.
Tl;dr - most are junk currently, and some are even dangerous. 1 specific Verizon version for usb-c pd (TYPECPDVPC ONLY!) is the most acceptable one.
Sent from my Pixel XL
Check out this spreadsheet it has chargers on it and one is type car. There are no perfect PD chargers at the moment (18W) AUKEYCC-Y7 and Verizon 27w TYPECPDVPC are the least bad. It is probably best to take the 3W hit at the moment and go for a 15W non PD car charger like the Belkin 15w F7U005bt04-BLK or Nomad B015NN0OKO. Personally I have gone for the AUKEYCC-Y7 PD charger as although not perfect it is at least cheap.
Bear in mind that some chargers come with a fixed USB-C charging cable. Ones that are cable less will need a decent cable as well. Decent ones cost as much as the chargers. So given the current price I recommend going for the Belkin 15W charger with built in cable

So there's no issue using an old micro USB charging cable? I planned on using my old ones and I purchased a 2 pack of USB-C to Micro USB adapters from Amazon. Can't seem to get clarification about the micro USB chargers..
I have no clue with micro > C adapters. The OEM A>C cable works great and make sure any 3rd party A > C cables should have the required 56kΩ resistor.
I am using a few of these from Anker on an old .5a Moto charger, older Anker car charger and an extra thrown in my work bag.

Of course there is an issue, you need to use either use a micro to c adapter with a 56k ohm pull-up resistor in it or a an approved a to c cable that also has a 56k ohm pull-up resistor.
EDIT: make sure you bookmark that google spreadsheet and check it for up to date~ info.

I got the v3 CCTA from tronsmart and returned it, the pixel sees it as a device when you unplug and plug it into 12v with car turned off/not powering socket..
The 27w Belkin is now considered bad after further testing has shown it to allow the pixel to backfeed power.
Oh, all Belkins are now in the bad -2 recommendation..

A Micro to usb type c adapter didnt come with the phone. You can use the USB A to C cable that came with the phone with legacy chargers.
Has anyone plugged their pixel into an "old" charger and actually had an issue? I see lots of people going crazy about chargers and also see lots of people that use any old charger they have with a cheap adapter and they have no issue.

I use my old charger with the oem a to c cable and my old a to micro cable with a micro to c adapter that has the 56k ohm resistor just fine, it's just slower than max, but no big deal. hardly ever have to use it, but have it just in case.
I have been using an old Anker pre QC charger and it has been working fine.
I haven't tried the QC3 charger in my wife's car yet.
For now the A>C cables with the 56 ohm resistor is the safe way to go.

Belkin
The Belkin 15 watt used to be recommended as it was the charger for the 6p. I have used it with the 6p and now the Pixel. Not sure why it went from 2 to -1. Obviously it does not do PD with the Pixel, but I cannot see it doing harm. Same is true for the Google 6p wall charger. I sue that with the Pixel also. Any thoughts?

I would guess the change is for charging as noted. There are some further comments about a lack of IR drop compensation circuitry in the Google+ information below. I view the list as simply somewhat subjective opinions from an engineer, and like you said, I couldn't find comments in Google+ to suggest the Belkin you're talking about might pose a threat to a phone. My previous Razr M would tend to lose power when charging and using navigation, so I may just keep the Belkin PD model and see what happens with a replacement, in spite of the current -2 in the list.

G5 RS988 Replacement Charger

Hey, I lost the charger for my G5 RS988 and I'm having a really hard time finding a replacement (I want the same one that came with the phone).
I was in a rush to find a replacement, and the only store that had a USB-C chord was Staples. So I bought their cable and used an old brick I had for the outlet.
The phone does charge, but it takes forever compared to the LG charger. I called LG and they told me that the charger shipped with the G5 is no longer in production.
I've read a few articles about the damage that can be done when using a cable with improper specs; I'm hoping the setup I described above isn't hurting the phone.
Does anyone have any suggestions on a third party USB-C charger with Quick Charge 3.0 capabilities? Is Quick Charge just on the phone's end, or does the charger also need to be Quick Charge compatible?
Thanks,
Adam
You need to have a QC compatible charger. I use an Aukey QC2.0 AC charger and an Anker QC3.0 car charger for mine and "Fast Charging" works great. If I bought a new charger for the house, I'd probably go for a new Anker QC3.0 like this:

Cool. Just ordered it. Does the USB-C cable also need to be QC 3.0 compatible? I have a Staples brand.
No, as long as it follows USB Type-C spec and can deliver the current, it should be fine. I've even used one of my older micro USB cables with a Type-C adapter and it's worked great.

That is not true. Cables also have specs on how much current are able to pass. I have a low spec type-C cable that does not 'fast' charge the LG G5. You should seek for type-C cables capable to pass 2.1 A or more, compatible to QC2.0 or QC3.0 charging. I prefer Blitzwolf cables. They are have high quality.

Like I said, "as long as it follows USB Type-C spec". Part of the spec includes the ability to pass the required amount of current for Type-C Power Delivery, which is up to 100W. Any cable that meets this spec is more than capable of handling QC3.0. However, just because a cable has a Type-C connector does not mean it meets spec. If you need some help figuring out if a cable meets spec or not, Benson Leung is a good resource.

Nintendo Switch AC adapter with Pixel XL?

Hi all, just ordered a Pixel XL to replace my 4 core failing Nexus 6P. I have no idea what kind of charger is coming with it, and even if its OEM, I'd like to have 2. I have read many threads about the non PD compliant chargers not providing rapid charge, and am wondering what the consensus is on using a Nintendo Switch charger? My local Best buy has the official Google Pixel XL charger for $34.99, and the official Switch AC adapter is $10 less. Has anyone tried this, or have any thoughts on using this? With all the stories about nonPD if I have to, I'll just get the official google one, but was wondering if this was an option.
Thank you!
The Pixel XL comes with a USB-C charger and a USB-A to USB-C cable, so any standard USB-A rapid charger will work.

Thanks for the reply. I was under the impression from this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-xl/accessories/usb-c-pd-chargers-google-pixel-xl-t3474205
that only certain chargers provide fast charge. I did not buy the phone new so I don't know if it comes with the standard google charger or not.
belkin type c rapid charger should be available for cheap at your local walmart/target/best buy. pretty good quality cable for the price.
My switch charger ended up damaging the port after continued use. I recommend saving up for the official one
Tried many chargers, only the original Google ones seem to charge at rapid charging speed. Oh Belkin car charger ones does as well.
I tried a NS charger (HAC-002 USZ) on a Pixel XL a day ago and it worked fine and did rapid charging.
Mine didn't come with a charger (bought off eBay). I bought a so called fast charger (can't remember brand but it looked legit Qualcomm fast charge capable) and it says it's fast charging but it takes about twice as long to charge as my old OnePlus 5 did.

Ordinary USB cables that support dash charging

I've read countless comments here about how dash charging requires a compatible charger and cable. However. I recently made an unexpected discovery that certain cables sold on Amazon support dash charging with the Oppo branded VOOC chargers (but apparently not the OnePlus branded charger). I discovered this by accident when I plugged this cable into my Oppo charger:
Cable Matters USB-C Cable (USB A to USB C Cable/USB C to USB Cable) in Black 6.6 Feet https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00S8GU544/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_dkTJBbN069J3Z
Using this cable I get the beep, the blue light and the dash charging icon, and my OP6 does in fact charge at the faster rate. Wondering if it was a fluke, I bought a second cable and got the same results. This is great since these cables are 6 feet long, thin and flexible, and appear to be well made.
Now here's where it gets really weird: both cables only dash charge when plugged into the Oppo branded wall charger. When connected to the OnePlus charger they only charge at the normal rate. The Oppo charger looks exactly the same only with different branding. I do not know why these cables seem to work with one but not the other. I cant think of why they would support dash charging at all except that maybe they're made for the Chinese domestic market.

From what I understand, OP has a way of knowing if one of their cables is connected. If using a generic cable, it will default to slow charging.
Seeing that OP fast charging is based off of OPPO fast charging, it should be fine.
I would assume the OPPO brick doesn't care who's cable you're using as long as it can support the higher charging rate
Ordered both, the USB/C cable was just delivered, 3ft is long enough. Found it on Amazon for $5 and the OPPO charger on eBay for $10, that's about a 1/2 price of Oem from OP site.($8 and $20 respectively) It's always good to have a spare 'just in case'.
Interesting find.

I think it's a sure bet since OnePlus and OPPO are under the same corporate umbrella. They might even have the same R&D for accessories.

I have read people recommending to get Oppo VOOC charger brick, as it supports Dash Charge.
Oppo and OnePlus are same companies.
Yes, its recommended to just buy oppo charger / cables. Both are the same and support dash (same name with vooc) . It's alot cheaper too.

Sometimes its the only option.
I am in Australia and the only charger with Australian pins is available through Oppo.
OnePlus does not manufacture AU chargers currently.
I have the official oneplus dash charger and the dash charging is activated with all the cables I have (an old huawei cable, and 2 generic ones) , but it took 3 to 4 seconds for the phone to activate dash charging while it is almost instantaneous with the official cable.
act OPPO and ONEPLUS is made in China and same parent company...instead of dash charges, OPPO call it VOOC
What about OPPO rapid (aka dash) car chargers for OnePlus?
If you can wait for shipping from China:
$8 - https://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-O...pter-Cable-For-OnePlus-6-5T-5-3T/223031157260
$13 - https://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-O...e-C-Cable-For-Oneplus-3T-5-5T-6/263870632520?
Perhaps this $12 VOOC will work? https://www.amazon.com/TOOGOO-Type-C-Charger-Carregador-iPhone/dp/B07HFNB3HZ/
Hi all
Thanks very much to the o.p. for providing this solution to wanting a longer-than-OnePlus's-maximum-150cm (4ft 11in) length cable that actually fast-charges...

...Now here's where it gets really weird: both cables only dash charge when plugged into the Oppo branded wall charger. When connected to the OnePlus charger they only charge at the normal rate...

I'll be purchasing a "Cable Matters" 6.6ft cable based on the 1st post's suggestion, however if I can avoid buying the "Oppo branded VOOC charger" I would.

I was hoping to clear this up before proceeding with the order.
Anyone else able to get non-OnePlus OEM cables fast-charging with the OnePlus oem power supply wall charger?
For Indian Users:-
SKYVIK Blaze Nylon Braided Type C Dash Charging Cable for One Plus 3 3T 5 5T 6 6T (5V/4A)-2 Metre https://www.amazon.in/dp/B07GTX2F61/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_yIy7BbQMREE97
This Cable supports Dash charging and it is considerably long as compared to stock Cable.
Has anyone found a 10ft cable that is compatible with warp charging?
BlitzWolf BW-P12 supports dash 20 on my op6t in case anyone needs a powerbank with Warp charge. they do not advertise it anywhere, it just works. Also the advertised low power charge does not work.
