1. In OP are: "go to recovery", this recovery are TWRP 3.1.1.1 for OREO?
2. In download link is: "Download system.zip for the Huawei Honor 8, by surdu_petru", is that for Honor 8 or Honor 9?...
Thank you for your effords and sorry my bad English.

NO, use stock recovery ... there is no word about TWRP into OP
Yes, it's for Honor 9, that's why this Thread is in Honor 9 Forum !

Its very easy, you just need to flash stock Emui Oreo system.img via fastboot and perform a data/factory reset into recovery !
There is some tools to extract system.img from update.app , just use Google to find it .

OMG, this actually happened. Thanks so much! A couple questions, if I may?
1. Is a specific stock region required before installing this? (Well, OK, currently Oreo beta is out for C432, so I'd have to rebrand from C10 one way or another, but say in a couple months when C10 Oreo is out, would rebranding to C432 be a necessary step?)
2. What exactly is the problem with EMUI Camera, from user perspective?

I tried adb fastboot flash system.img brush into the rom but I failed, because I brush phh project treble rom this way. Can you tell me you rom specific brush into the method?
Sorry for my bad English, I use Google translate the above content!

Hey,thank you.I have a problem. Is it that the ROM more stable than project treble ROM?

Is this possible from RR too? I mean, flashing EMUI 8 that way (so I can then flash this Treble Rom).

I don't think so. As the first step you have to have installed stock ROM with EMUI 8 and then you should flash this ROM (system.img). Stock ROM is mandatory.

Yes, that's why I'm asking if it's possible to just flash EMUI 8 on top of RR-N without installing EMUI 5 before. And if so, if I could just use the guide how to "update" to EMUI 8 or if I have to use another method when coming from RR-N.

Yes, better go to stock Emui before updated to Oreo to avoid any issues. And you should use the way described by @OldDroid.

Okay, thanks. Sorry for bothering with my stupid questions but how do I get back to EMUI 5 from RR-N? I can't find any guides for this specific thing.

What is meant? 3G & 2G always full signal

So,if I read this right,
1. there is no twrp for honor 9 oreo currently. Is this true?
2. If I flash this rom over stock emui8.0, data partition is encrypted or decrypted?

You should flash this ROM over a EMUI where the capacitive keys are already working !
This ROM do not affect the capacitive keys in any way ( didn't enable them and also didn't break them if previously they working )
Previously I was on Chinese Oreo FW B321, where the capacitive keys are already working well
I confirm, use chinese B321 update, not the crappy european B360a.
I'll give a try today with this ROM, thanks surdu_petru!
Installed successfully, this ROM is fast. Could you give instructions on how to install TWRP to then install Magisk? Did you test it?
Edit: I flashed this TWRP: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75689747&postcount=14
Now I'll try Magisk and let you know
Magisk installed, now I'll be able to restore my apps with Titanium.
Thanks for that great ROM!

You can try but I don't think that it'll working because data from Oreo 8.0 it's not compatible with data from Oreo 8.1 ... and for this you need to perform a data/factory reset !
So far everything is working well. I just noticed that Google Duo keeps crashing, but I can't find the app in the Play Store, I think it's been replaced by Google Allo since Oreo.
ROOT
@surdu_petru please which root should I use....phh's supersu doesn't work for me?
Thank you for bringing RROS in treble form.
Read the first post. To get root you have to flash TWRP then flash Magisk.
BTW that ROM boots damn fast!
One issue: at random time the speaker starts to emit a sound, like some FM noise. If I use the volume switch it shows multimedia volume so it knows that a sound is emitted but the volume cannot be set. Only way to stop the noise: restart the phone.
China Telecom network can not work Thank you
Can I support the double SIM card? If you can't do it, you can have it support the double SIM card?

Please check the OP, you have all the answers there
can i flash this on a RROS 7.1??
First of all I really wanna thank you so much for this great Rom and all your effort you put into it!
Overall everything is working fine for me but the minor issues of the AOSP Rom (8.0) are remaining on this Rom:
- Homescreen laggs
- Slow homebutton
- Bit slow screen on time when unlocking
While the last issue is really minor and it doesn't bother me, the other two can be kinda annoying. Both of them didn't occur on RROS 5.8.5 - well, homebutton didn't work at all there but to be honest I would even be happier with a disabled homebutton compared to this slow gesture thing. As of now I can't disable the homebutton in RROS settings and I'm not sure if the next problem is part of that issue but why does this Rom go back to homescreen when double tapping Back when double tap is disabled? I feel like the Honor 9's homebutton is quite hard to support?
And referring to everyone's questions: No, you have to use Stock Recovery and you have to flash this on top of an Oreo Rom (either EMUI 8.0 or AOSP 8.0).
Another problem which doesn't directly have to do with the Rom: I seem not to be able to get TWRP working here. If I boot to it it gets stuck on the TWRP screen. Anyone found a solution there?
Edit:
I was able to get TWRP working now and succesfully flashed Magisk.

Ok thanks
Excuse me, could you provide the direct link of the twrp necessary to install the rom ?, the link of the description is of a P8 lite and not of an M10L, and it is confusing, I installed the catuva and I had errors, I never managed to install the rom, but I would like to prove it, how is it going
I'm also having trouble installing the TWRP you linked... when I flash it in fastboot I can't boot into TWRP and I'm getting the fastboot screen with errors 11 and 2.
Does automatic updates work ? Thanks

great rom. but which TWRP can use?
I tried but Google paly stopped and cannot connect the internet after booted .
Just asking is this the rom with fixed camera? (issue from your pixel experience)
Btw what is the differnce between this rom and pixel expirience
Hello @DarkJoker360
Finally I flashed AOSP 9.0 onto P20 Lite (Nova 3e) and it's awesome but, I noticed a few issues so I will list them below.
1. The initial setup gets stuck when I connect my WiFi to complete it, there is a page that says "Checking for updates" I think. The workaround is to skip the initial setup without connecting to the internet.
2. Bluetooth is not working properly, it detects Bluetooth devices but it cannot pair with them, The same issue affects WiFi connection. WiFi does get disconnected every and each time Bluetooth tries to pair.
3. Some graphical UI glitches when using like Uber when navigating the map.
4. I can't play music on my phone whether it's stock music app or google music app but, VLC player plays music perfectly.
5. The dark theme doesn't apply to the settings app, nor other places. It applies to the notifications header only.
6. The statusbar is not 100% optimized for the notch, it's hight is less than the notch by 5px or less as I believe.
7. Camera works fine.
That's it for now.
Below is a file contains logcats of bluetooth and music audio issue.
Thank you.
do you need root before installation or can you install the rom without root

Remove assert line from meta-inf and re-flash
Hallo hallo everyone,
How can anyone even get through the setup of this ROM? Cause these processes keep stopping and even if I ignore everything:
android.process.media
google play services
google play
and even the pixel.setup process which then starts all over and crashes
This is so unstable not even a BETA, more like an alpha XD, I experienced something like this on the phhusson treble experimentation of May, but at least I coulded have a bit of a fun, and this one I just can't, maybe it's my device I don't know.
It's the European version ANE-LX1 C432 and right now has the version 8.0.0.146(C432) on it.
I also tried flashing multiple times but it was still the same, also the 3 TWRP's I have tried were the pretoriano80 one, the kilroystyx one, and yours.
As for now I will give a try to a new work from phhusson treble roms without twrp's.
Cheers,
AS

Hello, why making emui 9 when the beta will be released in Q1 of 2019? This device will get for sure official emui 9 from Huawei. Unfirtunatly p8 lite 2017, p10 lite and more hi6250 devices won' t be sure to receive it. I will port emui 9 to that devices with my possibility

That specific build 8.0.0.145 is for the Single SIM version of the phone and the 8.0.0.146 for the Dual/Hybrid Sim version
