Dolby Atmos in Oreo & Beta easter egg - Nokia 6 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi,
As I noticed right after installing Oreo, there is no Dolby settings. I assume that this is a matter of license and certification Dolby for Oreo.
But I checked the system and this is what I found:
- /dsp partition is present:
Code:
ls /dsp
AlacDecoderModule.so.1 EtsiAmrWbPlusDecModule.so.1 VorbisDecoderModule.so.1 libsysmon_skel.so
ApeDecoderModule.so.1 EtsiEaacPlusEncAndCmnModule.so.1 WmaProDecoderModule.so.1 lost+found
AudioSphereModule.so.1 FlacDecoderModule.so.1 WmaStdDecoderModule.so.1 map_SHARED_LIBS_AAAAAAAAQ.txt
DTS_HPX_MODULE.so.1 HeaacDecoderModule.so.1 fastrpc_shell_0 map_avs_shared_libs.txt
DolbyMobileModule.so.1 SAPlusCmnModule.so.1 fluence_voiceplus_module.so.1 mmecns_module.so.1
DolbySurroundModule.so.1 SrsTruMediaModule.so.1 libFastRPC_UTF_Forward_skel.so
- getprop reports
Code:
[vendor.audio.dolby.ds2.enabled]: [false]
[vendor.audio.dolby.ds2.hardbypass]: [false]
Can someone with Nougat check the value? adb shell getprop vendor.audio.dolby.ds2.enabled in adb on pc or getprop vendor.audio.dolby.ds2.enabled in Terminal Emulator.
I'm just wondering if I solve this well.

Do you use Oreo? I don't pay attention to that tbh
It was like that for me also on Nougat - checked some screenshoot. Now I'm using Substratum and you can change it, but for me it's by default.

I didn't rooted my phone yet cause m using it fine in my way, and yes i m using oreo, but still everyone's has 4g and your is LTE...
Its so hurting :crying:

How do you know everyone? I see you have Dual SIM - try it with single card, I don't know, maybe it changes something. Second thing may be network carrier, for me it's T-Mobile. Look this thread.
BTW, I don't have root. Substratum with Andromeda works rootless.
↓ PM

Can u share the link i also want to use it

the 4G/LTE this is probably because the phones that were purchased in USA (like mine, TA-1025) will get LTE because in the US they usually brand their networks as LTE and 4G is not really a commonly used term.
but anyway, when I was on nougat I used to get mostly 4G (lte only sometimes, but rarely) now I only get LTE.

I got it, this depends on the carrier we use in our region so its fine, lator when some custom rom will be available then i iwll manage that via root..

Maybe they'll add this at release of Oreo?

Man, we live in a world of technology, before making any security, people make a unlocking way to get rid during any problem with security
If TA-1000 and TA-1003 can be flashed with mena firmware then there is still hope available to get our phone unlocked
Dont worry just be calm and relax...you, me or someone will surely make a way to get our device unlocked...

You obviously didnt bother reading up. Some devices are locked and have never been unlocked. Not everything is possible. Having compiled roms myself i am more than aware of security flaws. SOME however have never been exploited. Google has some of the best Devs in the wold. As well as the help of the Android community aiding in making secure device. I suggest you read up on bootloaders. As well as the new security added under Nougat and Oreo. It may help you understand.

odds of root for att V10?

Hey all. Currently I have the Note 3. I am looking to upgrade and am strongly considering the LG V10 since its kept the removable battery, sd storage, and very good specs. Do you guys think there will be a root available for it in the near future? Thanks
If you have T-Mobile there already is root
---------- Post added at 08:28 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:28 AM ----------
Wouldn't hold your breath for AT&T or VZW
Did they do something to prevent root injection like on the G4?
You might have a long wait.
I was on ATT with the Note 4 and it only has temporary root after more than a year.
You might be better off buying the TMO version and running it on ATT network.

tmo v10 doesn't have reception for
LTE 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 7 / 12 / 17 / 29 / 30
which i guess is like a workhorse band for at&t.. people with tmo aren't getting good signal of LTE on at&t network which sucks.

From T-Mobile's site it has LTE: 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 20
Not saying you don't still get bad LTE with a T-Mobile on ATT but not as many missing bands.

If you take a look around and do some research, and not get so fixated on what you think is correct based on what the device is 'showing' you. You might find that things are different than you are assuming.
The AT&T, Verizon variants of the V10, are fully locked down. That "option" is shown on the AT&T but doesn't do anything.
If you read the other threads, you will find this out for yourself

I just bought my AT&T H900 and was looking into rooting to (1) remove unwanted apps and (2) using Titanium Backup (back up apps) and Nandroid Backup (general backup).
As rooting is not currently an option due to bootloader being fully locked down, are there ways for me to remove apps and backup?

You can go into Settings/Apps, and Disable the ones you don't want to run and won't even be visible. I don't recommend uninstalling any (even if you can) this could break OTA updates. You can always re-enable them if you go a little crazy and break something, or want to OTA Update the device
Titanium and Nandroid both require Root, and I believe Nandroid requires an unlocked bootloader. So until the magic happens, you can't use either of those methods of backup.
For me, since there are currently no ROM's to install. I don't have a need to create any backups of my apps that are installed, and the same goes for the need for any Nandroid (even more so)
I believe you can, however do a complete system backup/restore using ADB. There are complications to using ABD, it's not NEAR as easy as booting to CWM and doing a couple clicks/done
You could take a look at an app called Helium. It's for app backup, I don't use it so I can't give any 1st hand experience

Had no idea that uninstalling apps could break OTA updates...that could be the reason why my T999L never had any updates available after Android 4.4.4.
Working currently on installing Android Studio so I'll have ADB then. I'm a novice when it comes to dealing with technology on this level so if you could direct me to somewhere where I can find out (or tell me) how to do an ADB backup that'd be super!
Thanks so much for all the info!!!!! PS: Now I'm second guessing the thought of rooting my Nexus 7 (2013)

Yeah, the OTA update looks for key specific "stock" things, if the device fails to meet them, the update fails. I think a lot of the carrier bloatware is checked

I haven't used ADB in a LONG time so, I wont be any help to you there. Google could though
There are a lot of options out there now that with a little research, provide SOME options, that you can get by without Root. Although they may not be as good as having Root, AdAway is a great example for me at least.
Good luck with ADB and making your system back up

Sent from my VS987 using Tapatalk
My understanding, not as a programmer by any means...is that the phone needs to have an unlocked bootloader prior to even having the ability to gain root. If the service provider (Verizon) doesn't unlock this, root cannot happen in a traditional sense. Carriers such as T-Mobile have a root for this phone as they come with unlocked bootloaders. You wont see root on the Verizon variant.

no there isnt hope unless u figure it out the "experts" have tried time and time again
the bootloaders arent locked they are signed with a very special key that would take ever computer together in the worl roughly 200000 years plus to brute force into. verizon and att are the worst
now you all know. as said before if u wanted to root you should have studied before buying a "locked" device
if u want root either get a rootable device or figure it out on your own
as with the g4 there will more than likely never be root for these "locked" devices
not being an ass just the cold hard truth

they cant unlock the bootloader or it would have been done
lgs verity key prevents this through qfused motherboards highly encrypted partitions that the bootloader verifys and if one thing is off bam lg secure boot error.
which again is basicly hardcoded into the device.
no one is going to waste their time trying a 99.9% impossible feat
The phone is just not popular enough the Verizon Galaxy S7 I believe is unlocked for the bootloader. If the phone is popular enough a developer will work on it.

You need to be on marshmallow or have anti-rollback to be 0 which <1% of ppl have. Also, it's not a complete root, so although you have root permissions, it's unstable and you have no root manager (SuperSU/Magisk/etc.)

[Discussion] [News] [Help] [Tips & Tricks] [F800L/K/S] Korean Variants

Hello fellow XDA members,
Since we Korean users don't have a specific thread for ourselves I have opened a new thread where we can discuss possibilities to make our device awesome.
Feel free to share anything related to our devices including latest security updates, ask for help and possibilities of Custom ROMs.
1) If you want to Unlock your bootloader/Install TWRP & Root F800L/K/S: DirtySanta Bootloader unlock and Root guide (Special thanks to me2151)
Note: DirtySanta only works up-to Dec 2016 security updates. However, if you still want to root then as according to runningnak3d If you have ARB 0 then it is still possible.
To find your ARB, on the keypad dial: *#LGMENU#*model#
So for example, F800L: *#LGMENU#*800#
2) Firmware List (If you get new KDZ files for our devices post links here so I can update the list):
LG F800K: F800K10e
LG F800L: F800L10e
LG F800S: F800S10e
3) Supported Custom ROMs: WETA ROMs for VS995/ H910/ US996 with F800L (If it works for F800S/K let me know I will update it)
Known reported Issues in F800L by @karmacoma7: lags when installing apps and 3G stops working (only 2G and LTE works)
Edit 1: If you happen to install DirtySanta, DO NOT install bootimage.img part it gives static screen to our devices. After installing TWRP and formatting data flash Schwifty Kernel (Works in F800L) It will install SuperSU and will give you root. (Device won't have any lags also)
Ampicillin: I suggest for efficiency we keep all the useful stuff in the 1st post.
I am a F800L Rooted user on 10t rom.
I have flashed 10i KDZ with uppercut, used OTA to update to 10t, then used the dirtycow exploit to root.
Now there are two ways to get the latest security patch and keep root:
1) If we get a latest KDZ (Which is possible by updating with LG Bridge) we can flash only the system part of this KDZ, without boot and aboot, thus keeping root. I have tried getting updates with root, but LG Bridge says, its the latest version. ( Some kind of protection is there) Perhaps I will try later to downgrade to 10i and try to update to the latest rom to get a KDZ.
2) If LAF cracking succeeds, then we can upload our LAF image to the developer and he will extract the key for signing KDZ, so we can root latest KDZ and flash it.
Another thing: You can use WETA roms and some other roms for vs995 or h910 or us996 with the Korean versions.
I have checked myself: WETA ROM works, but lags just a tiny bit when installing apps and 3g stops working for me ( only 2g and LTE does)
Courtesy of Mr. fenrir_ac https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6c...w?usp=drivesdk
Its a file to flash to make US roms work for above mentioned devices for F800L
This guide might work for other versions of Korean phones, courtesy of the same mr. fenrir_ac
Get these 5 files from your Korean stock ROM and move it to this ROM (or any H918 ROM), under directory /system/etc/firmware

After flashing the new ROM, move these files to the same directory by using the file manager in TWRP. You must mount system before moving them to the new ROM, otherwise the phone will stuck at the LG splash screen.
Another interesting thing - a restock kernel works fine with my F800L
Otherwise if you restore backup of your kernel, you will get static ( Perhaps it will work for other versions too)
One more thing, I have used a RCTD, CCMD and triton remover from our fellow developer Zacharee1 and I find its results amazing.
The device works now as a SD820 device should - no lags at all.
Can you provide a link for a Chinese discussion site for Korean models ?
@karmacoma7
It's a great idea so people don't need to dig up the entire thread. I will update the 1st post as soon as possible.
Here is the Chinese forum, They have active developments on Korean variant.

Before you have done that. Could you run a LG bridge on your PC/MAC and try to download latest KDZ for our F800L ?
It will most probably download it, so try to find the KDZ it downloaded on your hard drive.
If you succeed, then upload the KDZ somewhere.
I will extract it, try it and if all is well - will make a guide how to keep root with the latest patch.
Yes, Keeping our devices on latest security updates is important without losing the root. So, if anyone has any links to latest KDZ post it here.
Wtf is triton anyway? I also used rctd, it seems better... Also you guy should flash the vulkan driver, is great!

I'm already on 11e update. Not sure if LG bridge will download the kdz?
@yemkoid I am also on 11e latest November 2017 patch.
Has anyone tried to root with DirtySanta being on latest security patch/update 2017? Since I assume if ARB only matters DirtySanta should work? I am on ARB -0 still.

Good news. a flashable 10t rom, found on Chinese site.
Here`s a link to GD https://drive.google.com/open?id=1yha4HUaId4tpHJHgZLEGrwO_Sy9K3GGb
The Rom is nice, but all lg apps are cut out.
You have to make a clean install, otherwise no-go.
Gapps are missing. Trying open gapps now
since LG apps are cut out, can somebody make a titanium backup of stock weather, music player and hd recorder and upload to google drive ?

I will give it a try and let you know been busy lately.
Also, off topic, my device audio seems to be having an issue. It works great in some apps when using call or recording feature. Sound is crisp and clear but in Whatsapp, certain apps and chrome browser in build video websites when I try to play any music or video sound is muddy and distorted, cannot hear anything. However, my music player works fine. What could be the issue?
I tried disabling xposed, I am using Swiftchy kernal.

Hah, Yeah Chinese ROMs are not user friendly for non Chinese users. But, at least development is still happening on F800L which is good sign for upcoming Oreo and possibilities of root for Oreo!

Okay, Let's wait for Oreo. We have to be able to root Oreo once it comes out.
Edit: Thanks for the Restock kernel thing. I just flashed on top of Swiftchy kernel and now my audio distortion issues in some issues completely gone. So, I guess it was a kernel issue. Also, this kernel doesn't say anything on software version just says: Kernel version 3.18.31 and it seems to have little lag when device boots up and settles after 2-3 mins. My CPU gets 99% usage upon boot up!

18/04/18 UPDATE: Factory Image and Kernel Source are live!
It's being rolled out so you might not have it right away.
My own Unofficial Changelog since the one Razer provided was lacking
Added 8.1 features such as PiP, smart text, new power menu and switch off/reboot animation
Added Updated Dialer (looks more like the Pixel Dialer now)
Added "Colour" under "Display" to tune the display between "Natural" "Boosted" and "Vivid"
Fixed Crashing Issue with Netflix and Google Play Movies
Updated Dolby Atmos Application and equaliser
If you have any issues/bugs please post with a detailed description of it and if it can be replicated. Also upload any bug reports to your Google Drive and share the link here so the developers can take a look.
How to Take a Bug report.
Activate Developer Settings by going to Settings>System>about phone and tap the build number repeatedly.
Once done go back once and you should see "Developer Options"
In here press "Take Bug Report" and then "Full Report"
Wait a bit and you'll see a notification, press it and upload to Google Drive
Once in Google Drive get the link for the .zip file and make sure the sharing settings are changed to "anyone can edit" and then share the direct link to the file here.
I know this sounds like a lot but it's very easy and really helps the developers.
Downloading now. Hopefully will be a good update considering how long it took.
Already installed (on a de-branded phone, btw). It looks like the screen is about 10% brighter than it was before the update, but I may be wrong. Has anyone else noticed the same?

Someone on the Razer forums said the same thing.
If someone could test something for me I would be very greatful but you have to follow these steps exactly and let me know the outcome. The Theme isn't the cause it's just easier to see.
go to System settings>display>colours and change the colour scheme to "Vivid"
Change your theme to something vibrant like flat green or crimson from the razer theme store
Change the theme on Gboard to something bright like red/green
open Google chrome and tap the field box so the keyboard appears
now swipe the quick toggles all the way down with no notifications making sure the keyboard is still up
Now when you look at your quick toggles is the colour switching from vivid to normal by itself? been trying to find the cause of this on my unit but was a bit hard with hardly anyone on the dev preview.
It will be interesting to see if the Three variant has the update delayed. I am still struggling with debranding mine but if the update does roll out with the SIM free devices I will stop trying.

Hi,
Is there any new settings such as haptic feedback vibration settings?
God knows how long we will have to wait for factory images to be released.
As those of us who are on the DP will not receive the OTA, and cannot roll back to N neither
To those of you that don't have the update yet, just install a VPN app like protonvpn and connect to a US server, then check for updates...
Thank me later.

Stock recovery should be able to flash it, it's the same file your device would download.
Whats the correct way to install the OTA???
Fully fresh install DP 1 and then the OTA over it??? (I'm using the DP 1, but I rooted and messed with some files already, I want the fully fresh experience).

All right then.
So, first install the factory image: https://developer.razer.com/razer-p...210.450019206.1523910795-820167234.1522079918
Then relock the bootloader.

I heard some users had problems downgrading from the DP1 to N, you had any issue???

Alright.
AOP-513D-0-00WW-B03 (V5.13D_B03) here is same to the official release. So if you have installed this build, just enjoy it.
You will get later updates like regular Nokia 9 Devices.
To those who are still running 5xxx builds older than 513D B03, please download packages here.
Click to collapse
To users who have installed this internal build, please share your experience report here if you're willing to, thanks.
Now I think Android 10 for Nokia 9 is stable enough and will be released to public soon, so I think it's time to post it here.
If HMD will push Android 10 officially, you can install it under ADB sideload easily and link will be posted here.
Internal build version: AOP-513B-0-00WW-B01
It will be updated from: AOP-427F-0-00WW-B01, which is released October 2019 Security Update.
Let me tell you how to verify:
1. Dial *#*#227#*#* to check current Version. If older than AOP-427F-0-00WW-B01, update to 427F before proceed.
FYI, 427F is October 2019 Security Update.
Alternately, you can use command "fastboot oem getversions" under fastboot mode / Download mode to check current firmware version.
2. Install AOP-513A-0-00WW-B01-427F-0-00WW-B01-update.zip with adb sideload under recovery.
3. Reboot to normal OS and recovery again - it's not over yet.
4. Install AOP-513B-0-00WW-B01-513A-0-00WW-B01-update.zip with adb sideload under recovery.
5. Reboot your phone.
That's it.
If Android 10 official update pushed publicly, link will be updated here.
To root the phone, you may want to use Magisk 20 released October 12th, 2019 or newer. I've uploaded stock boot image here if you have unlocked bootloader. There's no "Flashing is not rooted for fused device" issue under 5xxx build.
You can check overall experiences here (prototype, though): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6ScYgISGFg
Download link:
To prevent throttle error, I didn't upload them to Google Drive or other cloud storages. Sorry for inconvenience.

Just installed on my Nokia 9 TA-1087, works perfectly. No bugs found so far. So far so good. Animations really smooth, camera launch is significantly faster than Android 9. The dark mode is not fully dark but that was expected. Overall excellent experience. Definitely worth the update.

Ok done. Flashed... All working very well without bugs.
Battery life seems better on 10. There is no night mode on camera i hope add it to next updates...
can we use it in TA-1087?

Google pay works but can't add new cards as it says it's been rooted or altered in some way. I know it's not rooted but will we not get the proper update now as a result of doing this?
I installed the internal build 10 update on my TA-1082 (US) last night (about 20 hours ago) and it's been working/behaving extremely stable.
Feels noticeably faster than 9.
Thanks to OP for making it available:good:
Hi there! Is the device certified or not after installing this software version? I'm thinking, if not, maybe the mobile banking apps won't work on it
I installed it a while ago and it seems pretty stable and fast, the face recognition doesn't work as well tho. Also its a shame when you switch the dark theme on it doesn't make the boot dark as well, like the pixels. Everything else is working great! Thanks for sharing the build :good:
PS: I didn't have to root or anything, I just downloaded the two builds and updated using the stock recovery via adb sideload, it works on a non rooted fully stock phone, which is awesome
Any idea if there is possibility to revert back to stock ROM? I found only nb0 firmwares that seems is not able to flash to Nokia 9 with Nokia flash took.
Thanks.
Thank you! I am on it now...

Hello,
my model is TA-1082, single sim. I purchased it in Dubai... but when I flash for the OTA upgrade, it shows the message as above. Why?
EDIT: My build number is: 00WW_4_27D_SP02
Feedback of issues I have gotten so far:
- Phone freezes when playing videos.
- Network connectivity drops to nothing randomly.
- Google Pay doesn't work without internet.
Feedback on improvements:
- Phone faster and more responsive.
- Better battery life after a week.
Is anyone having these issues or is it just me, and also how do we return to stock rom in case something goes bad? I haven't unlocked the bootloader or rooted the phone so I'm unaware on how to do this just in case.
