Pixel Launcher on U11+ - HTC U11+ Questions & Answers

Hey guys, does anyone use the Pixel Launcher on their U11+ ?
Can you maybe post some screenshots, I'm wondering how it looks, how much of a Pixel vibe
does it add. The Settings app, Quick Toggles and Recents apps switcher are the only OS parts
that cannot be changed, but they look pretty stock/Pixel.
I don't really like the Sense launcher, but since you can change the launcher,
using the Pixel could change the whole look of the device towards Google's look.
Thank you.

I use to love the pixel launcher. I then gave Nova launcher a chance. Nova launcher has a companion app to swipe left for Google now plus you can customize it better and more than the pixel launcher. Long story short you can make it look like a pixel launcher. And it's on sale for Christmas. 99 cents the prime version that is.

Check out Flick Launcher. It is like a cross between Pixel Launcher and Nova.
I bought the Pro version for $1.99. It is still under development but well impressive to see a customizable Pixel style launcher.
Sense Home is okay. After hours of tweaks I got it where I could live with it.
The choices with Android are why I love it so much.

Lawn chair launcher is pretty sweet too and most importantly, free!

I was using Nova prime and made it look like pixel but due to high battery issue had to remove and stay with sense for now.

[Poll] New Launcher Poll - Just cause I think these are "fun"

It's been a while and I'd like to see the updated numbers on preferred Launcher...
I myself am a LauncherPro man as I find it's options easier to use (though it's less customizable than ADW) and the swipe for more (though not unlimited) is more intuitive than the drag down for more of ADW IMO...both are great though and have used both, but Pro seems more polished IMO...
SO that's my take...but anyways...hope to read some indepth non flame baity replies...both are great great launchers and a sign of a great future for Android...
I love it.
I am going to have to go with Launcher Pro Plus at the moment. It is faster and has EVERYTHING I need at the moment. ADW is still an amazing home replacement though. Both are two of the greatest apps available for Android!!!
lp used to be faster for me... but when you load it up with 7 screens n widgets it started fcing like crazy for me... but i dont get fcs with adw and its buttery smooth... so i guess whatever works is the best. done.
launcher pro is way faster than aDW now.. way faster.
people say that but if u adjust the screen fling speed not really... the way i have my adw set up, vs adw stock (system version also), vs launcher pro stock. the stocks felt same smoothness with same 5 screen setup with only that stock screen of icons. the way i have it is just as smooth as both but faster because i upped my screen fling speed or scrolling speed to like 150 from the regular 600 on adw... so really its just a matter of preferences (and settings) for that matter. this is like whats better intel or amd... all depends on the setup people and knowledge of user. c u guys in kwaak3 server... l8z
and its not instaflinging. its bout the same scrolling speed as the iphone when i had that... it's silky man ... silky like hawaiian silky
I understand the value of open source, however, I much prefer Launcher Pro to ADW.
LaunchPro!!!!
ADW ftw! =)
ADW is much better for me also, LP never looked or felt right haha. While LP is good on my vogue i much prefer adw on my nexus one.
Get Pro Plus. Widgets are nice and dev features and updates are amazing
Pro Plus is really good!
launcherpro developer is a beast. Every update he pushes, brings a useful feature

I have. Back in Launcher Pro 0.4 days, it wasn't as fast as it is now. ADW was about neck and neck. I adjusted fling speed and stuff. I was running around 180 or so speed. I think.
I just went back to ADW. It's not bad at all. But here's the thing. I have a Milestone. If I forget to overclock and leave it at 550mhz, LP is still incredibly smooth. I have it completely covered in widgets. You will see ADW struggle at 550mhz. At 1ghz overclock, ADW looks ok. I'd say LP is still faster then.
I think Launcher Pro really started kicking but with 0.6.5 or so. Fede added a hack for Milestone/Droid users so that it was a lot faster. Maybe not much changed for N1 users, but jeez LP really flew after that.
And now with "sense" widgets, I'm surprised how fast LP is still. Fede really went into beast mode after Launcher Pro Plus. I don't know how he's doing it but dang... I'm beyond impressed now.
I stuck with ADW for a long time. The minute it came out on marketplace at 0.7 til 1.0. At that point I was just tired of it being "not fast enough" despite all the customizations. not only that, ADW lacks proper persistent mode. The developer himself admitted it, and its something that needs to be looked into. Either you deal with constant redraws (a problem that used to be there for LP) or you put it in memory and risk having memory overflow so your widget stop updating. LauncherPro on the other hand hasn't skipped a beat.
I mean both are incredible launchers. I accidentally used ADW for 10 min today. They're both darn close and fast, but I picked up on slight choppiness and that was what made me realize that I was using the wrong launcher today
Launcher Pro Plus gets my vote adw is nice nothing against it but i prefer LPP

enjoy your choppiness. LOL.
launcher pro becuase of the widgets in the plus version. if it had a see through app drawer it would be awesome. adw has it but its not as smooth as luancher pro
wheres HTC Sense
I like both but I'm liking Launcher Pro. I just think ADW is going in the wrong direction with the whole 'theming" thing. You can never truly get all icons themed and it just looks like a hodge podge of icons and I like to keep the system clean and fast.
Launcher Pro on the other hand is making improvements to the system, widgets and functionality that makes android more usable.
I've never had any problems on either one running on N1 2.2.

Lightest Launcher?

Hi guys,
Since my Moto Milestone 2 (Droid 2) has become my primary gaming device, even at home, I was wondering if using a light launcher could make a difference in the most demanding games' performance (like Dungeon Hunter 2 HD which I get some bad frame rates sometimes despite having bought the correct version).
I use Go Launcher EX normally, but I'd be willing to switch to another just for my games. Maybe Zeamlauncher? Any suggestions would be very welcome. Thanks!
Zeam is the lightest out there...excellent launcher!
I've been liking ADW alot lately seems light and lots of options and themes.

I used ADW because I loved the big iPhone like icons it let me customize. But it force closed on me a lot and I found it heavy compared to LauncherPro and especially Go Launcher. Trying Zeam now, seems really sweet but it'll be a while until I put all my apps in the respective places
Oh btw I'm finding Launcher 7 quite light too. Not my cup of tea since I like having several home screens but maybe it's a good alternative for a games-only launcher when I run those things that slow down my phone (I'm addicted to Gameloft spent 50 bucks there lol)
Launcher Pro
I'd say zeam. Minimalistic, light on resources, and should suit your needs.
Definitely Zeam. I've used them all and I honestly keep coming back and sticking with Zeam. Very fluid, simple, fast, and it just feels light. Of course you have LauncherPro if you want those widget add-ons; I personally don't use them so the launcher really isnt' that special to me.
I use Go Launcher and I think it's light enough.
I haven't try Zeam though.
+1 for Zeam. Launcher Pro and ADW is good for customization, but Zeam is lightest so far.
Gonna try out GO Launcher today-ish.

Try Gingerbread launcher. Barebones basic but should be low resource.
is Go launcher really that much of a resource hog? i havent noticed.
Launcher Pro FTW,
Zeam tried, but too featureless and not worth it
IF YOU HAVE A HIGH END SMARTPHONE.
Launcher Pro provides the perfect mix of features plus stability.
Whereas, ADW EX is heavy on memory and has too many useless features for me.
Of course, this is all opinion ONLY
I think FreedHome + is the lightest and fastest but not the most customizable.

Nah, it's a light launcher. I'm just asking about Zeam and others because I want the lightest one possible, just to switch to when I get in the mood for heavy 3d gaming. For example I have absolutely no slowdown with Spider Man Total Mayhem, but since my favourite game, Dungeon Hunter 2, slows down a bit sometimes on my Droid 2, I'm asking to see if there's a lighter launcher. Even Eternal Legacy is smooth running GO. I'll report back when I have the time to test the barebone launchers people have suggested, I'll have time to test now that the house-moving craziness is done

Install new one, press 'Home' and choose which Launcher you wish to use from the prompt that appears.
launcher pro is the most suitable for me

Heads up for you TSF Shell users

They have released several new themes for the crack priced launcher if you are one of the ones who like it. You would think the damn themes would be friggin free since the launcher itself is so dang pricey but oh well, who am I to argue with extortion?
It has certainly made some big improvements recently.

I'm a user and fan of android since the begin, and tsf is for me the best launcher ever.
I'm desapointed that's so expensive and Many people will never used it to see how it's cool.

Disable TouchWiz

Hi,
I'm thinking to buy a S6 but I really don't like the touchwiz (I'm not the only one ).
I read that using the google now launcher and the Material Theme is possible to have a sort of google stock image on the s6. Is it true? does it really disable the touchwiz functions?
Is there any other way to have a google stock ( Nexus like)on the s6?
Thanks a lot to everybody
Using the Google Now launcher will only replace the home screen interface. You still have the Samsung Touchwiz framework running behind that, so...short answer is no. You can't truly get away from Touchwiz because there's no AOSP ROMs out there and CyanogenMod says they won't support Exynos processors so don't look for a solution from them. That being said, you can use the Google Now launcher, Nova, Apex, or any other good AOSP-based launcher with a Material theme and you probably won't hate your phone as much as if you had to look at full-blown Touchwiz all the time.

Thanks for the answer. If that's the situation, I'm considering to buy another device. Now I don't know what to consider since I don't like LG G4 and the S6 really seems to have the best hardware and the best camera.
Yeah I am in the same boat. I hate Touchwiz, honestly think I should have bought an M9, but the S6 camera is fantastic. I make do with a Dark Material theme and Nova Launcher to make it less touch-wizzy. Don't forget that you can disable a majority of the Samsung bloatware, and if you're not against rooting you can use Titanium to freeze/disable the rest. If you're set on getting a Nexus experience without buying a Nexus device, you can get all of the apps on the Play Store so it's just a matter of customizing your S6 enough that you forget it has Touchwiz.

Best buy phone, can the bootloader be unlocked?

My 6p just died and I'm looking for a replacement. The sooner the better. If I buy a pixel 2 xl at Best Buy, will it be unlocked, or will it be a verizon bootloader can't be unlocked phone?

It will be a Verizon model but honestly I have a Pixel 2 from Google with the bootloader unlocked with no desire to root. As long as you can get a good XL2 screen then go for it.
So on the unrooted phone, is there an option to decide how many icons wide by how many icons down the screen holds? Can you resize a widget to take up space you want it to? Can you install a different launcher? (I prefer my apps to be listed as text instead of a bunch of icons)
I think those are the big 3 for me in terms of custom rom or not. I'm not sure if you can do that with Oreo as I haven't been not rooted for a while.
Currently rocking my old Note 3 with Jasmine rom running android 5 while I figure this all out. At least I have a phone.

You can install a launcher to do all those things.
Here is Nova launcher with Pixel 2 layout.
And Lawn chair Launcher for OG pixel layout.
And Another Widget to get the new weather and date layout from Pixel 2 with custom icons bring used on both. How that helps
Here is the Widget i referred too from the Pixel 2 set up.
