DAC that works with in-line controls on earphones with Apple pinout? - Essential Phone Accessories

We all know that Apple is the only company that refuses to use the standard pinout and instead reverses it so that earphones for IPhones don't also support in-line remote control on other devices. Unfortunately, most of the good earphones with mic are made for iPhone.
I've got the Klipsch X11i, which sound great with the included DAC. However, it'd be nice to have in-line controls. Doesn't anyone know if this is possibly a software feature that could be implemented? Alternatively, are there any DACs that support Apple's pinout for in-line controls?

Inline headphone audio control/mic adapter?

Does anyone know of a headphone adapter with audio controls and and a mic? I'm think of something similar to the mini-USB to 3.5mm adapter than came with the G1, but obviously with a 3.5mm connector for the phone.
I like the controls on the bundled headphones but the audio quality and noise isolation is terrible. I want to be able to use my Sennheisers but still pause and skip songs. I'm sure I could splice the bundled control module into my headphones but I'd rather not hack up an expensive set.
Alternately, does anyone know of a software solution to map one of the buttons to perform pause/skip functions? Having to unlock the phone to pause and skip or use a fugly lock screen replacement is not ideal.
i would like to know this as well
I've got two sets that I really like. Skull Candy FMJ are my favorite. Great sound isolation. Kinda spendy, but well worth it. A lower cost and nearly as good option is a Best Buy brand vmoda headset. Sound isolation with inline mic witha button which is basically a start/pause button for the audio. It works great for what I use it for.
Hmm. I'd prefer just a simple adapter so I can keep using my Sennheiser CX 300-II's (especially since I just replaced them this summer after leaving my old set on an airplane). Do you have the v-modas? I don't want them, but I want to make sure that iPod controls also work on the G2. If so I may check out the Etymotic mc3 or hf3.
Look at radio shack for what you are looking for. I'm pretty sure I saw something to what you are looking for. Here it is...

I have the v-moda vibe duo, the jaybird freedom, and zagg smartbuds. All three work great. Zagg has the coolest feature of any headphones I've had with the way they designed them and are my go to. V-moda has the best bass of the three and jaybirds are perfect for working out it. All three mic and controls work.

Ouch! $40 for a simple mic and control button adapter? I may just start cutting and splicing cheap headsets to see if that works.

i have sony ericsson mw-600 stereo bluetooth adapter/headset if you want a more wireless option. it has OLED display and controls on the mic clip, and stereo adapter to plug in your own headphones/ear buds if you dont like the stock ones.

Beats Headphones.

With the announcement that HTC are releasing Beats branded devices complete with 'premium' headphones, could it be that we are finally about to be able to purchase a set of decent headphones with inline remote controls that work with HTC devices? Will the Beats headphones be compatible with older devices and where/when do you think the headphones will be available to purchase separately?
I never understood why so few manufacturers followed Nokia's example and include an inline remote with volume controls and well as play/pause/track skip and or stop that itself contains a jack so you can use any headphones, such a simple but brilliant idea. For me the inline remote controls are more important than audio quality so I use the stock headphones but would love to replace with premium buds.
I know you can jury rig a 3.5mm socket onto the cable which is what I have done to make a cable for my car stereo, but it's too untidy looking for daily use!

[Q] What type of headphone port?

Hi there,
I've been looking for a while, and haven't been able to find an answer. I'm looking for a good pair of headphones/earphones to use that also have a mic and volume controls. I like the skullcandy Hesh Carbon/Black, but I am told that all controls only work with phones that support a TTL headphone port.
So does the Sensation (Tmobile) support TTL?
or does anybody have these headphones, and have been able to use all controls?
Thanks!
AKG are very good headphones but they have buttons not all compatible with htc sensation

If you take a gander in the accessories threads, there are a few that work with Android phones. On the budget side, ajays four+ I think is called work. I personally use SOL Republic headphones because I love the clarity and quality. That's mid range prices. The mic works and the center button works because they are intended for iphones but I can use the jay's headset app to use the center button to do anything I want like control volume level and skip tracks.

[Q] iPhone ear bud compatibility

Hey guys,
While I had my iPhone 4S, I bought a pair of SkullCandy 'Fix' earbuds, which according to the packaging, were designed to be compatible with the iPhone chipset. They are an earbud/mic combo with pause/play/volume controls.
Will the controls work properly with the HOX? I've tried them out and they don't seem to. While they start and stop music, they won't change the volume.
Any idea about an app or something that might make these fully functional.
Thanks for the input,
J
There is no set standard for in-line earphone controls for smartphones. Earphones designed for iPhone will almost always not work properly on Android (most buttons won't work).
The following app should be your solution. Its designed to make the buttons on iPhone-compatible headsets work on Android:

Klipsch Image S4i headphones with microphone

Hello,
I'm going to buy Klipsch Image S4i headphones, but I don't know they will be compatible with the LG P920. Does anyone have this phone and these headphones? Is the remote control work?
The S4i do not work on android. They only work for apple devices (hence the 'i'). If you want full compatability you need the S4a ('a' for Android) Although note this headset doesn't have a volume rocker/media buttons.
