My Setup. No Navbar - Clean. - OnePlus 5T Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hey Guys & Girls!
I've figured I should make a new thread for this..
So how do I set up my device.

Firstly It's not necessary to be rooted but it helps - I always root my device to get that perfect feeling setup for me.
What will you need:
- Nova Launcher - I use Prime (Don't know if the regular version does all the things) I admit that I've brought the prime when it was discounted to 0.99€ - It usually is around the Christmas, if some of you maybe still don't own it.
You can get it RIGHT HERE: I set the things to my liking like row numbers, dock background, etc..
- Icon Pack (My favourite at the moment is Logicons)
Get it RIGHT HERE
- 5s ADB tools (Thanks to @Snoop05)
Get it RIGHT HERE
Some Patience, You can't get it RIGHT HERE :silly:
On the Phone
Ok, what I do next is go to the settings and click on the build number for about 7 or 8 times, so I enable the developer settings.
When the settings are enabled I connect the phone to the PC and in the developer settings I select USB Debugging. Now I unplug the phone and reconnect it again, so that way I get the prompt on my screen asking me If I trust this computer - Press YES.
Go to the PlayStore and download Nova Launcher, and your favourite Icon Pack..
On to the computer:
Ok now it's time to install the 5s Fastboot tools, just install it like a normal program.
When its done installing press and hold shift up and pres the RIGHT key on the mouse / trackpad, and then open the shell here
When it's open type adb devices if you get your phone recognised you are all set! If not check your phones screen for a prompt up asking if you trust this computer.
Now on to the fun part..
Depending on what do you want type in:
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.full=* FOR NO STATUSBAR AND NO NAV BAR (Accessible via the swipe)
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.status=* NO STATUSBAR
(Accessible via the swipe)
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.navigation=* NO NAVIGATION BAR
(Accessible via the swipe)
adb shell settings put global policy_control null* REVERSE BACK
Congrats, you've just prevent the burn in..
Now, as I am rooted I do some other things as well - take it to another level.
I don't like seeing the nav buttons whatsoever, as I don't like it when I type on the keyboard..
So First off I download and install the app called LMT Launcher (Thanks to @noname81)
You can get it RIGHT HERE
Install it and then go trough the setup to get ti looking like you want it (I make it completely transparent - so the navigation is similar to the iPhone X - LOL)
Not liking the navbar, I use solid explorer to completely disable ityou can get it RIGHT HERE
When you download it and install it, open it and allow root access.
Then navigate to: System and find a file called build.prop (I like to use Solid Explorer as it automatically creates .bak - a backup file) and then scroll till the end and after the last line past: qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 this will DISABLE YOUR NAVBAR
Lastly I install AdAway (Thanks to @mrRobinson) You can get it RIGHT HERE
I will update the guide as I go, with apps I use, etc.. If anybody has any questions feel free to ask, I will be more than happy to help! :highfive:

Except for Nova (I prefer Google Now Launcher), these are the exacts same steps I do every time i buy a new phone

Youd be better off using All In one gestures and use the 12 axis gesture .. no UI just pure magic

There is already a thread for this (locked until people get their devices.)

I'm not posting my setup.. I'm letting people know how I set up my phone.

Install all in one gestures : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.phoenixstudios.aiogestures
Setup permissions and enable accessibility for the app.
Permissions setup for non-root usage:
Most of this is inspired from : https://www.reddit.com/r/lgg6/comments/7bqy5r/guide_fullscreen_immersive_mode_with_gesture/
Code:
adb -d shell pm grant com.phoenixstudios.aiogestures android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
adb -d shell pm grant com.phoenixstudios.aiogestures android.permission.SET_ANIMATION_SCALE
Gesture setup
* Open AIO app and in top right, click on the three-dot menu -> select more hotspots
* On the subsequent dialog, select the last option (12 Hotspot diagonal swipe)
* Back on the app, swipe from left to access the side menu, and select personalization
* * Disable toast message (its annoying), and reduce the vibration intensity to a minimal one to your taste - or in my case i chose zero vibrations for my gestures.
* Back on the personalizations page - Select > Edge Preference
* * Set Opacity 10%, Edge Width 50%, Swipe Distance 60px (pay with bigger number if you want to swipe longer into the screen)
* Back into the app main screen, Toggle "Enable"
* On the section named "Bottom"
* * Enable left swipe first -> select back button
* * Enable right swipe next -> select recent apps
* * Enable Up swipe last -> select home button
Oh and make sure you have this app whitelisted for not getting battery optimized or force dozed. Also enable auto start for this app.
You should be all good... All gestures all the time. just like iPhone X. Once you get comfortable you can go ahead and disable the navbar altogether qemu.hw.keys=1

Haven't looked at the AIO Gestures app being discussed here, as I use LMT pie launcher too. The greatest advantage to me is the pie pointer feature. With this feature you can really use a large phone one handedly. Don't know if your familiar with pie pointer. It simulates a touch on the display far away from where you actually are touching the screen. You can click something on the top most left corner even though your thumb is touching the screen on the middle or bottom right hand side of the phone (where your thumb naturally would be using a phone right handed). So that's extremely cool I think. Check it out on YouTube videos, I suppose there are pie pointer demos.
LMT launcher is really incredible, it offers so many features that you can execute by just swiping in from the screen edge. From launching apps, to system controls plus pie pointer,...
Loving it!

You can try this APK to disable the navbar easily without adb commands.
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298987107
It'll be installed as a "com.whalespor......" and you can disable the two permissions granted after installing it.
Used it on my S8 in addition with AIO Gestures...pratically the best way to use android, in my opinion!
If the apk works on OP5T too...well...it's perfect!
In case it works, report it here!

I installed the apk, but not sure how it works. There is no icon to load the app... Does it remove the navbar automatically after install? If yes, then it didn't work as navbar is still present.

Is it possible to run these codes within android terminal app? I don't have a windows machine to hook up to via adb

You have to install it, then reboot the phone, and the navbar should be hidden permanently.

@Bucika you said you add build prob line but it doesnt do anything for me the navbar is still there.

I hope that's not your actually setup because it looks hideous.
And I think no navbar is just extra work and pointless form over function. The navbar is there for a reason you know.

Tried the apk and that doesn't work either

Well, if the answer is yes, then we'll have to hope for an apk dedicated to OnePlus 5T...

Everyone has his own taste.. To me it looks good, and it works.
Navbar will get burn in in time, and there are other ways, that I think personally are more efficient, to navigate trough out the system. But to each his own.
I'm just sharing for anyone who is interested, or didn't know something about that.

[MOD][PORT][APP]Vanilla Locks & Gestures (Multi-Silder/Rotary) & Config. App - Sense

[MOD][PORT][APP]Vanilla Locks & Gestures (Multi-Silder/Rotary) & Config. App - Sense
Okay, the wait is finally over! As the title of the thread states, included below is a heavily modified framework for deodexed HTC Sense ROMs (3.70 base), that will give you the ability run any vanilla style lockscreen you desire, including options for standard tab/slider, multiple-sliders (4 tabs for unlock/mute/phone/messaging), or Rotary.
First, and foremost, thank you to the CM team for most of the starting source. I used their framework, and settings app as a starting point, and merged this with the original rotary source port I created for the Hero, which was based on the original Droid android 2.0 ROM.
This mod/port required heavy edits to multiple framework files, and the base/starting framework files I used were the Power Control Widgets, so flashing the mod linked below will also apply the notification menu widgets. There's really no choice in the matter, as otherwise, I would have to maintain two completely different sets of frameworks for this port/mod, which would create a mess.
So, just from the framework side of things, the mod includes the following files:
services.jar, android.policy.jar, framework.jar, and framework-res.apk*
*Note: services.jar was not affected by this mod, but since framework.jar and framework-res.apk include, as mentioned, the power control widgets as its base, I had to include it in the zip).
When you apply this mod, given that the framework files referenced above will be replaced, any customizations/themes you may have applied will be removed and need to be re-applied with my framework files included below as the starting point. What does this mean? You CANNOT apply a previous theme you were using, not based off of the framework files in this thread, after having applied this mod. It will break. If you are not comfortable with this, you will want to wait until your ROM dev incorporates this into a new "point" ROM release.
Since all of the above framework files are being replaced, after applying, your initial reboot will take a while, as your Dalvik cache will get rebuilt. Be patient and don't panic.
Also, since the power control widgets were used as the starting framework, the framework files include the following modifications out of the box:
Allow for transparent notification menu background (xeudoxus & fxn)
Remove USB Debugging icon (me)
Remove GPS off reticle icon, retain GPS on reticle (me)
USB Tether / Hotspot Fix (vaelek & aamikam)
Disable Menu Unlock on Lockscreens (me) (new to this mod/port)
In addition to the framework files referenced above, the flashable zip will also install the following 2 applications:
DeskClock.apk <--- You MUST use this clock to set your alarms, to avoid issues when disabling your alarm, when using Vanilla Style locks on Sense ROMs. You will find this application in your app drawer via the following icon:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
EDIT 1/29/11: To modify your clock widget, to take you to the above referenced Android clock, when setting your alarm, rather than the HTC clock, which you shouldn't use, see HERE if using the animated flip, and HERE for the stock non-animated flip.
LockScreenSettings.apk <--- This is the application I "created" to set your lockscreen style and options (shown below).
The "LockScreen Settings" application can be found in the app drawer via the following icon:
Following are screen captures of the options available to you via the LockScreen Settings application:
As shown above, the settings application allows you to do the following:
Select your lockscreen style (tab v. rotary)
Enable Music Controls
Set if music controls are always present vs. only when music is playing
For tab version, add sliders for Phone & Messaging
Assigning Messaging Application to Messaging Tab/Slider
Setup Lockscreen Gestures, Trail, Color, Etc.
Disable slider/rotary dial and use gestures only (screen void of any unlock icons).
It is important to note that for now, as this is a complete hack that I created for putting this application together, that a reboot is REQUIRED after making any changes for your settings to take affect. I hope to resolve in the future, but it will have to do for now. A Hot Reboot will also do the trick, rather than a full restart.
Now, when applying this mod/port/app, in addition to the above files being installed, the updater-script will also automatically remove your HtcLockScreen.apk file, if present, in order to make sure the vanilla locks are used instead, AND install the necessary lockscreen_gestures to your /data/misc/ folder. This file is REQUIRED for the gestures to be written/saved for your phone, without it, gestures will NOT work. Application of the gestures portion may appear to stall when flashing. Be patient, it will apply. If, for whatever reason, after applying, you are unable to save gestures, try manually creating the necessary gestures file, with instructions provided here.
Download Vanilla Lockscreens Framework & Applications <--- Flash via Recovery
EDIT 1/29/11: The above link has been updated to include a newly modified DeskClock.apk with a "fixed" gallery button, to take you to the HTC Gallery/Album, rather than the stock Android gallery, which is not likely on your phone, preventing the button from working (second from the left at the bottom of the clock screen). See HERE for a standalone flashable zip for the clock only, if you've already applied this mod. It also includes an updated LockScreenSettings apk file to remove the "vestigal" appearance of RenderFx from your widget selections, since they do not apply to this mod.
Screen Captures
Following are screen captures of the various lockscreen versions you can apply with the settings application:
Stock Sliding Tab Lock:
Sliding Tab Lock w/ 4 Sliders:
Rotary Lock:
Blank Lock (gestures only):
MetaMorph
For the rotary lockscreen, if you do NOT prefer the direction arrows (see below), apply the attached using MetaMorph to remove:
Remove direction arrows on rotary lock <--- Apply using MetaMorph

Wow. This looks awesome. I'm very tempted to try it out. Now, if there was a way to get this lockscreen style to also apply to answering calls, I'd definitely go for it. I have like OCD when it comes to sliding left/right to unlock the screen but up and down to answer/decline calls.
Very nice work though and I definitely like the music controls being added.

As mentioned in the OP, gestures require the presence of a read/write file in the /data/misc/ folder, named lockscreen_gestures.
The flashable zip should create this file for you automatically. Did you use the zip to apply? Do you see the file on your phone?
If not, you can adb in and create the file and change its mode, which should get the gestures working:
Code:
adb remount
adb shell
touch /data/misc/lockscreen_gestures
chmod 777 /data/misc/lockscreen_gestures
reboot

thanks for the interest,
Strangely, the app isn't easily found in the play store. I'm guessing its not popular enough yet.
The link is under the pictures in the first post.

Those with a Samsung device can download Trigger from the Samsung AppStore for the free version without the six gesture limitation.
Trigger just became even better than it already is!
Now introducing 2 New Panels: NotePad Panel, ClipBoard Panel!
Have you ever seen such a clean and beautiful notepad?
Now its easily one gesture away!
One Tip: For those who don't want to always have the Trigger icon on the screen, you can now switch to using Trigger as a Home Launcher.
Double Tap home to launch the gesture field, there's no need to keep the icon on the screen anymore.
Thank you so muck.

It should be in the store, however Samsung Apps is still verifying update v1.5, so it will be a while before v1.7 arrives on there.
:good:excellent app.. long tym user of trigger.. trigger pulling something that separate this app from hundreds of other gesture based Apps.. few suggestions from my point of view.. it will be handful if there is additional pull direction like southeast, northeast, southwest and northwest direction.. And also need additional SPL actions like back button simulation, kill task. kill all task, menu similar to aokp ROMs and lmt launcher app.. ..glad if they make into oncoming update..
Perhaps one of the best apps I've seen in quite a while. Seriously well done, from looking fantastic to being fantastic.
One constructive criticism, perhaps change the gesture panel enabler icon. Or allow us to choose another one. I personally wouldn't mind a simple grey translucent triangle that i could position in the top left corner of the screen. Unobtrusive and not unsightly at all.

must admit.. its a brilliant start... testing the app now...
one thing i noticed... If i keep the icon in the corner, like suppose the middle screen right corner then the swipe right option doesnt work..
similarly if its at the edge, like bottom right then the swipe right and swipe down options dont work
keeping the icon in the middle of the screen kinda defeats the purpose of it being unobtrusive .. just an opinion
(im on nova launcher with grid layout set to 6 x 4)

I'm afraid that's not something I can fix if the icon is placed in the corner or sides.
It's a trade off for putting them in certain locations.
Personally I keep mine close to the side, but with enough distance to still activate the actions.
However, maybe the next update will help.
Next update includes pulling the trigger in 8 directions! 4 more quick actions to work with, so it might make putting it to the side or corners more agreeable.

What's the battery drain like on this app? If it runs constantly on top of all apps, must be noticeable?

Barely any battery drain at all. The only part that runs on top off all apps is just the tiny icon. Nothing else runs unless you touch it.
You can think of it as just your app containing one additional image and even if you leave it there, it won't affect the battery.
Unless you choose to change the icon to display the time or battery instead. Then it's more active and might affect the battery a little bit.

Problem with the app
Hallo.
I've bought your app for my Galaxy Note 2.
At the beginning it worked but after few configuration it started to abort and at the moment it is impossible to use it.
Is there any known bug for Note 2?
Is it possible to have a working release?
Thank you.

I've replied to your message on Facebook and asked for more info.
Describe the bug you are experiencing.
Is it force closing or certain features are not working?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Hello, I've tried this app, awesome work and it seems to be extremely customizable.
However I can't think of a reason how this app can replace gmd, is it clipboard/note function?
Maybe you can emphasize on the differences to increase appeal of this app

[Multi Window Mod][P6200][P6210][Deodexed][UPDATE][12/24/2013]

DISCLAIMER: I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU DAMAGE YOUR DEVICE...BE SURE TO BACKUP AS ALWAYS!
Install Instructions (i advise reading this entire post but please at least read the UPDATE sections)
1. Flash stock rom (this mod SHOULD work with any firmware...newest MF1 link below) using odin
2. Install CWM or TWRP recovery
3. Flash Deodexed zip (will need to re-root afterwards)
4. Edit your build prop by adding the line qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 at the very bottom (u may also want to change your dpi...134 is my preferred number)
5. Install xposed framework along with the TAB UI module and enable (see post #4)
6. Flash the V5 file below (u will need to manually delete the flashbarservice.apk if coming from V3) followed by forcecloseapps.zip (if neccessary)
Known Issues
1. minimized apps will randomy disappear
2. help button will force close systemui
3. navigation buttons are shifted slightly to the right in phablet (right handed users can consider this a "feature" :silly
After months of messing around i have FINALLY managed to figure out how to enable multi window on our devices...its not perfect but it works. First, in order to use this mod(as of right now anyway) u will need to be on a DEODEXED rom & need to find & flash your respective version below via recovery. After the rom reboots, go to "settings - display" and u should see "Multi window" with a check already next to it. Simply uncheck it then immediately recheck it and VOILA! u should see the multi window flashbar on the left side of your screen. Open it by touching the tab & u will notice a very limited number of apps already included and an "edit" button to add more but the problem is the list will be empty. There are 2 ways to fix this..the easiest would be to download "SAMSUNG MULTI WINDOW MANAGER" from the market and the other would be to install the XPOSED framework(my preferred way due to all the other options it provides) as well XPOSED muliti window apps manager module. Refer to post #4 for instructions on how to install & setup XPOSED...also attached are a few of my other favorite modules. Any apps that are already on the list or added with one of the mentioned methods when opened the regular way will have a restore/maximize icon(familiar for those of u who work with windows) located usually in the top right corner or bottom right corner(will provide example screenshots below). Clicking this icon will alternate u between windowed mode & full screen...i'm not quite sure if there is a limit on how many floating windows u can have simultaneously. If u prefer to just have 2 apps side by side or on top of each other(depends on orientation) then simply open then multi window bar & drag your first app to which ever position u would like(u will see the spot highlighted blue). Simply repeat for the opposite position and there u have it...working multi window mod. Of course there are a few issues but the benefits outweigh the problems in my book. First, not all apps were made with windowed mode in mind so some may not look right or function properly...with that said u MAY need to mess around with the dpi(will include the XPOSED module to do so for indiviual apps) or find replacements altogether though personally i havent had much trouble out of the 100+ i have on my phone. The minimize & dual pane resize functions do not work as of yet and this mod also will kill your mini apps bar when in tabletui but since almost any app can now be used in minimode it really doesn't matter. Let me end by asking that ANY dev/user who is willing to improve this mod by combing through the code feel free to contact me anytime...i'm a complete newb(as u can probably tell since this is my first thread) so i could use all the help i can get
UPDATE V3: Ok, so...here's a new version of the mod and although it contains no new features i did manage to fix a few things such as the lockscreen, notification icons, and dialer app(see instructions below). Since this update seems to be superior to V2 in every way, i will be removing the links and altering instructions in order to cut down on confusion. This time the mod will be PHABLET mode only(unless @chrisrotolo would be willing to modify the files for us) which means u will also lose the 4way reboot function but if u would still like to use tablet mode of course u can install XPOSED with the tabletui module(u should perform this step first which SHOULD eliminate the need to edit your build prop). For those of u who are coming from a clean install or the previous tabui4way version u MUST EDIT YOUR BUILD PROP(easiest way would probably be "build prop editor" in the play store) by adding the line "qemu.hw.mainkeys=0" at the very bottom of the file BEFORE u flash the phablet file for your device...once u have edited & saved the file simply reboot into recovery & flash the V3 zip for your device then u should be good to go. For the others who are already using phabletui or XPOSED tablet module u SHOULD only need to flash the V3 version over your current mod...once again, i will need P6200 users to test & report their results. Please note that this mod MAY NOT be compatible with the touchwiz launcher which means u might need to install an alternative homescreen app from the market( i personally use "apex launcher" and completely uninstall touchwiz home)...i also would like to mention that some users have stated that a factory reset MAY be needed. As a small additional bonus...it seems that this update also enables/fixes the lockscreen ripple effect(thanks to @loolser for pointing that out)
DIALER FIX: If u would prefer the stock dialer to work or like me have just grown frustrated that clicking missed calls causes your tablet to freeze then this is the solution. First, u MUST install XPOSED framework along with the "app settings" module(see post 4 for details)...once u have installed & enabled the module then click on the "app settings" icon and click "contacts". At the top left u should see an on/off switch(green means on)...turn it on and set DPI to 176 and Screen (dp) to 800 x 1280 and then select save. You will be asked if u would like to kill the app simply select yes and then exit the app...click on dialer which should now be working although u may need to reboot and/or clear data in both "contacts" & "phone" in "settings - application manager"
A few more notes to add just in case u didn't know...the paid version of "samsung multi window manager" allows u to create shortcuts(both apps & bookmarks) directly on your home screen and open them automatically in windowed mode(u can also specify the default size for each windowed app as well). I just recently realized that if u simply click on the app in the multi window bar instead of dragging it out that will also open the apps directly in windowed mode and make them automatically cascade too. If u don't like the placement of the bar on the left side of the screen then simply click the tab to open the flashbar then touch and hold the tab again which allows u to drag it over to the right side. Oh yeah, just because u see the shiny new allshare cast button in your notification controls after u flash V3 does NOT mean u should push it...it will most likely freeze/reboot your tab(yeah, i had to find out the hard way...lol) but if only we could get that working, hmmmm
Black Bar: The white flashbar just didn't quite look right so i took a lil time to create a black translucent multi window bar with red arrows...hopefully u guys will like it as much as i do. All u have to do is overwrite the "flashbarservice.apk" located in "system - app" with the one attached below and be sure to set the proper permissions then reboot your tab...will add a few screenshots below so let me know if u like the new look!
4wayReboot: I missed the 4way Reboot option so i've created a zip that can be flashed over the top of our current V3 mod...I need a P6210 owner to test report as usual
UPDATE V5: I've actually had this new version finished for about 2 months but have been messing around trying to fix the minimize feature with no results...since this is an improvement over V4 due to a few bug fixes, the biggest of which being the force close in phablet mode, i will be removing the links to the previous version. There are really no new multiwindow related functions except multiinstance should now work (although not with all apps) and minimize is enabled by default (apps will still disappear randomly so its not much use)...i'm sure u guys will encounter some problems that i may not have discovered so please feel free to report your findings so we can iron out any issues. I will also link to a separate zip below which includes apps that are known to force close after the mod is flashed (almost all samsung stock apps) so most of u will need to flash it as well....please note that i MAY need to create a separate version for the P6210 so please test and let me know. There are actually a few new non multiwindow related extras if u flash the new version...ink effect is now enabled, the video player will now have live video previews for the thumbnails (if u flash the forcecloseapps.zip) and the best to me i the ability to swap out & rearrange the order of the quick panel toggles in the "settings/display" menu (u will notice other extra options since the file is from the note 8 but some obviously wont work such as the spen related functions)

Here go a few screenshots for u guys...if u look at the settings screen u will see the multi window checkbox and notice a maximize/restore button in the top right hand corner
dude this is epic. nice job. how long did this take you?
And to comply with rules, you should at least give some info how you did this. I would also suggest setting up a donate button, just in case.
I would encourage you to share with Tab 2 guys who are documenting changes @ github, also the 7.7 guys will be interested as well, maybe they will even tweak/fine tune your code.
Looks really nice. Thanks dude.
XPOSED framework
as i promised...here goes the xposed installer along with a few modules that will help u out. The multi window apps manager(the developer doesnt want the apk reposted so i instead provided a link to the original thread) will allow u to enable any app to work in floating/dual screen mode, the "app settings" module will let u set individual dpi settings for apps, & "tweakbox" has various options such as volume button music controls & call recording! I also have a play store fix module(useful if u change your dpi) if u may be having issues & a module to enable tablet mode without flashing...if anyone is interested i will upload upon request.

Thanks a lot mate, you saved me a lot of work.
Actually I had managed by myself to get the multi windows working, with the icon in the notification bar and the option to activate it in settings.
The only problem is that it didn't display well and I needed to mod some files to get it working, and I didn't have the time to do this.
And now you come with the full mod, yesssssss!
Thanks again, I download everything and I report layer.
By the way, I see that in your list of apps there is the latest xposer installer and the latest appsettings, where did you get them?
The villainrom website wasn't working these last weeks, does it mean that they are back?
Well i downloaded 2 version of p6210, @ mw mod +tab ui ive got freezes after 2 times i just backed to standard ui n installed mw mod there. Generally its working well, but 1st problem is i cant open 2 times same application (for example browser), next problem is buttons near miniaps wont work, are like dead.

@unclefab if u go to the xposed thread using the link i provided in the first post u should see the latest xposed & then there is a link to a temp page(i think villain is indeed still down) with a bunch of modules including app settings 0.4(although all of them aren't up to date)
@loolser I actually just edited one of my posts above to provide a link to the multiwindow apps manager module thread where the developer states that "not all apps can be run in multiple instances" & specifically lists browsers as NOT working but there is always a way so i'm sure someone will figure it out as far as the bottom buttons, as of right now those do not work so dont worry about them...actually part of the reason it took so long to get this mod working was because i was too focused on trying bring those dead buttons back to life.
You may have already done so, but if not you might try contacting the OPs on some of the multi-window ROMs on the Galaxy S3 development forum to get some pointers on how they implemented these features in their TW ROMs.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1672
amazing mod, congratulations. here in p6210 worked perfectly. Xposed installed module to put other applications on multiwindows
Regarding phone app, try logcat.
Yeah that would be a definte deal breaker
I did some testing and it works fine.
Regarding the problem with the mini apps I can't tell, I had removed that stuff from the first day.
All my apps open, including the browsers, but some behave a bit strangely. It has nothing to do with this mod, they have the same funny behavior on my galaxy grand that has multi windows out of the box.
The only thing is that the minimize button doesn't work, hopefully it will get fixed over time.
By the way, this mod works without the flash bar app so one can remove it if one wants (I did it and my tab didn't explode )
If someone has apps that don't open one can try to add them manually following this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2068796"
Yep, the villain web site is still down but I downloaded everything from your links, thanks for that.
Thank you again for this mod, that was the last thing I needed. I always thought that no multi windows ability was a big drawback, and I craved for it since the days of honeycomb
This plus Chris' tablet ui mod, it's like a dream...

yeah u should be able to remove both the "flashbarservice apk", "com.sec.feature.flashbar.xml", as well as "com.sec.feature.multiwindow.tablet.xml"(which simply supplies the selection in settings menu which u wont need without the flashbar) files without MUCH consequence...all of these can be found in 'SYSTEM - ETC - PERMISSIONS" The reason i chose to still include it is because the window resize function is broken and dragging from the bar allows the apps to be automatically sized to exactly half the screen(shown in the screenshot with the chess & maps app) which is what the dead buttons on the status bar SHOULD be doing *shrugs*
as another option, u can replace the "com.sec.feature.multiwindow.tablet.xml" with "com.sec.feature.multiwindow.phone.xml"(dont forget to change permissions) & it will add a multi window toggle to the notification panel BUT u will ONLY be able to use dual panel mode(with a small plus of having a button to make the apps switch sides) or in other words the flashbar will be the only way to get 2 apps on the screen because it will disable floating windows! i'm not sure why someone would ONLY want this functionality instead of the floating windows as well but i will attach the aformentioned file below anyway in case anyone is interested

OFF-TOPIC: But i DEFINTELY agree...my device is now almost perfect. The only thing really left to do now is mod my hdmi dock by adding a usb port to it so i can connect to the tv, watch movies from my external hd, AND charge the tab at the same time which is what samsung should have done from the start but thats another thread...anybody else thats interested in doing this can check out the topic in the accessories section linked below(thats actually one of the few things i would be willing to pay someone else to do for me though)

i actually JUST finished making a thread in the 7.7 general section looking for someone to provide me their android.policy.jar so i could make a zip for u guys. If u could upload yours that would be awesome...of course it must be 4.1.2 DEODEXED & preferably stock. The files came from the note 8 & all i did was add the multi window folder which is basically missing in every device without working multi window...the real magic(for us anyway) is HOW i figured that out which was to focus on the combination of the files from different versions rather than the code itself
So i was just informed that the official 4.1.2 update is not out yet but i did see the "erobot" rom which i'm assuming is a port but i guess that still could work
yup... just read the post you left... this is the android.policy.jar from e-robot... its actually base on Official stock JB for 6800... the 3g/wifi version... they still waiting thr wifi (6810) version JB release... but for 6800 was already being like a month...
erobot basically using the tw from 6200 for the phonetab ui. and some files from note 8 as well
THEDEVIOUS1, do you mind uploading your MC3 Deodexed ROM? A lot of people would probably use it. I can't seem to deodex mine. Thanks!

are u saying the buttons located at the bottom on the status bar are not working because if so thats a known issue. Did u go into settings & uncheck then immediately recheck the multi window selcetion under display(neccessary to get the dock to show up the first time)? What happens when u hit the maximize/restore icon in the top/lower right corner? Does the app float or does the icon even appear at all?
sorry...didnt see the picture u provided
i guess we should keep the 7.7 discussion in the proper forum before we get in trouble...lol

Really a great app, but somehow many icons have quirks. Many round parts have flat parts. E.g. the heads of no. 3 and 4 are not really round.
Or is that intention?
And a search or filter function for the icons would really be nice. It's not so nice to scroll through so much icons, especially without a scroll bar. You never know where you are.

Hi there. I just read about your app on Android Police. It sounded great so I downloaded the free version to try it out. I'm sure I will get the paid version also. I'm going to mess around and make a few tiles. I'll return to give you my thoughts. Not that my opinion makes any difference. Lol. Thanks

First: Amazing work!
Second: Icon not appears on quicksetings in latest version.
Excellent Remarkable work done
Awesome app, thank you! Can't wait for further versions to unhide soon. Looking forward for playing games soon on these custom stock os.
Some issues:
1. Changing the color of "Adaptive Brightness" toggle icon doesn't work.
2. Same with the "Flashlight" toggle. And the first time I've tested the "Flashlight" toggle I wasn't able to switch off the flashlight. It went off only after opening the app.
3. The icon search feature isn't very useful. It shows only max. 5 results and it always starts at the beginning of the name. So you can't enter "auto" to find "brightness auto". Even with "brightness" you don't find it. You have to enter at least "brightness a" to find it.
Maybe a filter function would be better. And it should look in the whole name.
4. There are still some broken icons: Cancel, Headphone Dots, No, Question Mark Circle
Some requests (seen in another app):
5. Support for app icons would really be great.
6. It would surely be very handy if selecting an action would also set the corresponding icon.

Some issues:
1. Changing the color of "Adaptive Brightness" toggle icon doesn't work.
2. Same with the "Flashlight" toggle. And the first time I've tested the "Flashlight" toggle I wasn't able to switch off the flashlight. It went off only after opening the app.

1. Is in the process of being fixed
2. is intentional, it's not supported right now
3. The library that does the sections doesn't support filtering (it's a bug in it right now) so maybe later
4. Working on it
5. Maybe soon
6. Same as 5

Here's how you use Tasker's intent action to change a tile's state:
Add an Intent action and enter the following in the correct inputs:
Action:
com.quinny898.app.customquicksettings.CHANGE_TILE_STATE
Cat:
None
Extras:
tile:<Name or number of tile>, eg tile:Hangouts or tile:0
active:true/false, eg active:true (true = tile is white, false = tile is greyed out)
Package:
com.quinny898.app.customquicksettings
Class:
com.quinny898.app.customquicksettings.receivers.Tasker
Target:
Broadcast Receiver
Leave the rest of the options as their defaults (empty)

I'm assuming there's no way for this to work for the built in toggles or root toggles? I would have to create my own Tasker task and include this intent?
Also, the adaptive brightness toggle doesn't seem to work.

It works for any custom tile theoretically. It would look weird if you set a custom icon that was multi colour though.
The tile does work, it just doesn't react, it's a bug.

I did get the intent working to change the tile color when NFC is toggled.
Yes, your'e right. The adaptive brightness tile works it just doesn't change the toggle in the Android settings, which is fine with me.
Great app, the pro version is definitely worth the price. Thanks!
Great app, thanks! But when I click on the volume tile, it opens the media volume panel instead of the ringer. Don't know if this is a bug but if not, could you please add the option to open ringer panel? Thanks

It should open the panel for the app you're using
Hi, thanks for the app, but I got fc on my xperia z3c with sony concept rom
same here! this app seems very promising, thanks to OP first of all, but also in my z3c I have FC when applying the new tile (I'm on version 1.4 and I am rooted, sony concept rom that should be almost pure aosp).
will a log be helpful for you? if so can I just grab it with syslog app maybe?
TIA!
No idea why, but I can't get the NFC icon to show up at all.
This is supposed to be a root toggle for NFC with the NFC icon.
@Quinny899
I have purchased the pro features of the app but the colour of tiles (nfc, sync, ...etc) doesn't change when change the state of these. Basically, this is something that makes useless the application because the user can not know in what state is the function chosen

In my case it always opens the media panel, it doesn't matter the app.

[ROOT] Remap Bixby Button with simple, double and long press

The ultimate solution for assigning an action or application to the Bixby button
I found a trick to assign the Bixby button to an action, application and more... Support a single click, double-click and hold (also works the screen off)
Here are the functions you can assign to the Bixby button
Navigates: back, home, recent apps...
Controls: sleep/wake up, show power menu, shutdown, reboot, expand notifications panel...
Rotation control.
Media controls: play/pause, next, previous, stop...
Fast scroll: scroll to top/ bottom.
Edit: copy, paste...
Universal copy, one tap copy text every where.
Settings: auto brightness, rotation, wifi, mobile data...
Start app/shortcut/activity, finish activity, previous app/next app, kill app...
Freezer: freeze/thraw app.
Input gesture, key event, text...
Shortcut panel, app drawer, freezer drawer, side bar...
Floating widget.
Swipe adjust: swipe on the edge to adjust brightness, screen filter, volume...
Gesture pointer, extends your finger.
Notification, speech, toast.
Screen filter, torch.
Conditional: if screen on, keyguard on, wifi connected/disconnected, battery level, time period, wifi connected to, app focused...
Multi action, saved multi action.
...

Xposed is used to assign advanced commands.

I see. How safe is Xposed to install ATM (could I ever possibly need a USB jig)? Running the first original firmware released for S8+

I completed the article hoping to have answered the question
All this instead of just using bxactions which does the same thing?
You've blatantly copied and pasted stuff from other threads here, give credit where it is due please.
Be aware xposed at this stage is unofficial, experimental and unstable.
This can all be achieved minus double tap with other methods (need root to edit kl file tho). Don't steal people's hard work and effort and pretend it's yours, link to their threads.

Quite simply because xposed edge offers much more possibility of personalizing the Bixby button

Apparently, you did not read the entire guide because, at the end of each step, I put the source. So after putting the source, I did not believe it was my job. Everything I did as described above in the guide, I made a guide of all I did to be able to customize the Bixby button.
And to test other methods like Bxactions, I can tell you that there is much more possiblity of personalization with this method.
But for the Xposed case you're completely right I'll presume it still unstable.
I would add a second time the source as the end of the guide this time. So that one can see it well and that one does not say that I have spent the work of the others for mine.

Cheers, didn't see that. I'm going to install xposed again at some point and test this method out myself, you're right in tasker does have a bit of overhang and chews up resources, and can have a short delay depending on your multitasking habits etc. Most likely won't use this as a method until systemless xposed is more stable or rovo releases an offical n version.

There is to begin with a better reactivity of my personal feelings and
For example :
Recents apps
Menu
Sleep/wake up
Split screen
Fast scroll
Soft keyboard
Edit
Clipboard
Auto brighness
Wifi
Bluetooth
NFC
Sync
Wifi AP
Stay awake
Torch
Gesture control
Key control
Previous app
Next app
Kill app
Kill foreground app
Kill background app
Shortcuts panel
Custom panel
Apps drawer
Asjust and Succesive adjust
Multi-action(pro only)
Shell command(pro only)
And much more...
P.S. One had to look at the images
After you can stay on "Bxactions" if it suits you

I can not guarantee you will not worry.
But for my part I did not have any apparent problems of instability or bug.
And from what I read it works perfectly in general on the S8.

Hey all,
Really hoping someone has a solution,
last night i manually updated the Generic.kl file via the text editor, after changing the value from WINK to VOICE_ASSIST i've lost all manual buttons?
-Have tried:
Changing it back, Duhh.. - Did not work.
Copying a fresh copy of someones elses "Generic" file. (thought i may have accidentally changed an additional value)
Factory reset.
Have now reflashed my rom.
Any other idea's? For the life of me i cant work out how to get my buttons back..

When you have finished modifying generic.kl, you have to check that in the properties of the file the attributes are "rw-r--r--" otherwise you modify them. And you reopen the file to be sure that it is still readable. It can happen that according to the text editor use, the file genreric.kl is re-coded differently after the modification.
(Personally I use Solid Explorer to realize all his)
If not simpler here is the file genric.kl modified so that you can replace it directly but you will only have to check your attributes once the file replace.

Another safer solution is to flash this zip file and there will be nothing to check.
Download : View attachment BixbyFlash.zip
I'm in the same boat as the other guy, I have done as you said and tried both ways you suggested but still my buttons don't work
---------- Post added at 03:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:55 PM ----------
I finally fixed it. All I had to do was basically redo everything g from the beginning only correctly this time. I was so worried about my buttons not working that I gave up on the bixby key alone and was just trying to get it back to normal that I didn't even thing to just start from scratch as if it was still working . If that makes sense. I feel like I'm not making sense tho .
