Because people seem to mistake the words "alpha", "beta", "testing", and "XDA Developers" for "stable", "daily driver", and "My Android Play Land". It's become a place where entitled people come and expect us to build them a bug less rom and tell them how to unlock, root their device, and install the rom without bothering to put in the effort to read and try to help themselves with the information that has been left for them. Or they just come and hit the download button, and not bother to hit the thanks button and leave.

In response to the comment in the screen shot that you removed really quick, your half right. Just because I'm closing my threads here doesn't mean I'm quitting being a developer, which I am not, and have never said I was. Always said I'm just a heavy equipment operator, that got interested in android. I plan to build many more ROMs.

Took that down because I didn't want to sound too harsh. I didn't mean it in a bad way I just meant it in a way that said "people want everything at once from one person and said person can't make everyone happy which is stressing" buuut I quickly changed that because I thought it would sound mean but glad you caught it and thought half otherwise

sbf is NOT a custom rom. its a stock flash.
i dont think you fully understand the bootloader on the atrix....please keep the negativity towards the devs out of here.
As of right now all we really need to use is factory reset if something gets messed up. Custom Roms sounds nice but I'm more interested in overclock this puppy and adding some extra lock screens. *sits and waits patiently*

i think at the moment, as SBF is more important than a custom rom. we NEED the ability to go back to factory...
Sbf is step 1 toward getting the Atrix 2 development friendly.
I laughed out loud when I saw your post on the official moto forum, cheetablaze, it was a good try though.
We don't typically provide these files to the consumers as they are not customer friendly.

I was messaging the admin all night and he wouldn't do it. Said he could give it up. But there's no reason to yet. Maybe after an update is officially released he will give it up. I'll keep complaining also lol

Did I say it was a custom rom or did you assume thats what I meant? What did I say negatively about any dev? I'll be the first to admit I dont know jack about the bootloader, thats no secret, hence my thread asking why its necessary to unlock it to dev roms for it. Thats all.

What is this bashing people at xda ? Atrix 2 owners need a sbf and respectable member for providing the sbf is daywalker04, pm him and ask for the sbf. He will ask for some files from your phone and then he will try to locate the file for all of us.
Please keep nice and dont let anyone ruin atrix2 forums like they did at the original atrix forums.

re-read your comment. if it wasnt meant to be derogatory, then fine. you made it sound as if devs owed you a rom, even if it was stock based. i dont think you understand what devving a rom entails. please stop comparing this to the sony you used to have. i can tell you from my experience with motorola, htc, and samsung that none of them are similar....im going to assume that sony would be different as well. just because something works for one device does NOT mean it will work for another. same reason we couldnt get anything really decent over on the atrix until the BL was unlocked. every device is different, some even within the same manufacturer dont act the same as another within. patience, please. i dont know if you noticed, but there arent exactly a ton of developers coming over to the atrix2 side of things right now. we will work with what we have. now that i have my vivid, i can start focusing on tearing up the atrix 2.

There was NOTHING negative about me saying apparrently the devs feel its a waste of time to dev a stock based rom. How you can conclude that I feel like a dev owes me a rom or that im being negative towards them is beyond me.

Hey gentleman just tried the new RLS hyperdrive rom .. And of course I did a clean flash and I got this complete system shutdown and then I got this lock screen before completely went off and it said sending shutdown sending shutdown sending shutdown about a hundred times with a rolling screen not sure what it was I went to my backup just thought I'd put that out there and see if anybody else is having that issue might do a logcat later tonight but I can't find where the original post was I got it off deviant development

Look guys (at least the two who seen it's better to bash someone for asking advice) this is the question forum. I did not want to mutter up the forum and it was a certain issue I was having. I just asked a question, and I am sorry if my grammar or spelling or punctuation was a miss. But I don't see the need to be smart and funny at my expense if there is an issue that someone has with a rule I broke then let clear it up. But once again I'll thank you not to be-little or insult me again or do it in person if I have really done something. I do understand both sides to be honest. I understand some people do expect to be "spoon fed" and have no intention of trying anything on their own or contributing. I also understand asking a few question here and there. I personally regret not being able to try every new thing that comes out, I work 50+ hours a week and rely on my phone for work, so I can't always be the first to jump in there and test new ROMs even though I would enjoy doing so.
It's not really my place to point out what was said by anyone in the past, I just couldn't help but notice. Honestly, when I read your original posts, I agreed with them for the most part, but I do see the other side, wanting a few details before wasting time. No hard feelings I hope, this the end of off-topic discussion from me in this thread. My apologies to the OP.

Okay yeah, I'll keep testing. But it seems very smooth, and the battery icon settings seem to work, which is nice. I'm gonna test soon and see if speakerphone works, hopefully it does! It seems to have no problem with videos cutting to the end like I've seen with CM and Aicp, so woohoo!

Working great so far. Haven't messed with the speakerphone, but I never use it anyway. The only issue I've noticed so far is video playback in Facebook isn't working. It only plays briefly than stops on most videos. Playback works elsewhere. Could be a FB issue. I've noticed most Nougat ROMs I've used are VERY snappy. This one especially.

Hey guys anyone got Dolby running on the Oneplus 6 can you give me the files and show me how?
I have check the forums and such, and tried many files from XDA or those guides online, and it's either Dolby app FC, I don't have audio or it will show as Dolby Atmos (no info provided) in Magisk and no app shows up in the drawer.

I also did try what you mentioned and it didn't work.

I appreciate those that test from other devices. But taking a mod and posting a thread saying it works for this phone when it absolutely doesn't and does not even change the same files that the new device does isn't testing. It's using people who don't understand enough to do your testing for you. Could have easily bricked someone's device if it were something more serious. Shame on you.
Hopefully a REAL developer will take on the challenge of making a Dolby module for our phones.

I hate this app. It sucks, big time. You would think Android developers, when removing support for something that worked well would have given us something of better quality. Not stopped support and given us this mess. Why can't I just jump to the newest post? Why do I need to navigate the entire thread? Ugh

For those feedback there's a thread in the About xda-developers section. And they didn't removed support, it's because the forum moved to Xenforo, so it doesn't work the way it used to internally. Tapatalk would need an update to work, and rn this isn't a priority.
Now I know, the new app is mostly a webview app and stuff, but since it's the only one that works rn I'll take it, especially when this app has a good notification system (XDA Labs never notified me).
If you're still not to a fan of this app, the mobile website work well too

There's definitely room for improvement and I believe its being worked on, but why not post suggestions to the proper thread?
