i really prefer a soft case, is there anyone i can get that wont refelect the light?

sorry didn;t know any good softcase for mi5

I have a white Nillkin Frosted Shield hard case and I stopped using it because I came across the same problem you did. What a shame that happens with such an expensive case. Now I'm using cheap transparent gel cases from eBay until I find a good case that doesn't reflect the flash light. Maybe the black version of the Nilkin Frosted Shield doesn't have such problem.

rinke pretty much did the job very well for me, though it's hybrid. but it doesn't trap heat nor signal, and flash works nicely

I have an Ipaky soft case and I'm happy with it. I don't experience the problem you have.
But I cannot post a link since I don't have enough posts yet, I'll try to send it to you by private message.

I'm using the ringke fusion case. Didn't notice any flash reflection with it so far, and it has dust plugs built-in, pretty neat. Phone already survived some hard drops without damage, so I'm pretty much satisfied.

I had to modify mine with some scissors

Solutions to slippery Mi4C

Not sure if others concur, but I find the phone very slippery due to the smooth plastic back cover (referring to white version here, though not sure if colour makes a difference).
Other than installing a 'bumper' style cover that makes the phone much larger (and noticeably heavier), what solutions do you suggest?
Can the back cover be replaced with a Nexus 5 style back cover (if available)? Or are there thin stickers that can instill more grip (e.g. sandpaper finish)?
I got the darker version and yeah, the back is kinda slippery. I also looked for backstickers, like what slickwraps and dbrand are offering, but I didn't find anything.
Today I ordered the official xiaomi plastic cases and I'm curious how thick it will make the Mi4C. Maybe still thin enough that I'll keep it...
I have to admit, I am happy I ordered a case with the phone, in my situation, the Nillkin Frosted Shield. Big improvement, but if dbrand had something, I would be happy!

Yea no problem, I ordered one from China but its still not here so ordered this so should be here next week
I did he same as TheNacho. I bought a Nillkin Frosted Shield and I really like it. In my opinion the case is very thin and gives it a good grip, it also feels like a good quality case with perfect fit.
It do also give a small small edge around the screen, which covers the screen a little bit if you put the phone down with the screen downwards (or if you drop it)

I've already forgotten the hardcover Yeah, I had both. The hardcover began pretty fast to crack at the corners (because of the pressure?).
The TPU was a bit more stable, but it began to crack near the headphone jack after a while.
@rob rich got it today (came in 3 days) and its bulkier than the image on ebay. The back is not completely transparent like the rest of the case but a foggish white. But I can grip it easily and thats good for me.
Ok, I'm searching for something really really slim
I'm not afraid of let it fall (never happens to me) but I'm afraid of scratches on the back and on camera lens without case...
I'm sure there are some cool cases in China, so i would be happy if someone could point me in the right direction.

So you're not happy with the Nillkin case you got? I would suggest taking a look at AliExpress or eBay, loads of cases available there and I'm sure you'll find something good.

Best clear case?

Anyone with the variety of clear cases care to chime in on what they recommend? I'm leaning towards the spigen ultra hybrid. Mainly due to the name brand but curious of some others out there. I ordered a frost and want to show off the styling! I know clear cases can be iffy so wanted some opinions.

I think there are a lot of threads on cases but I also appreciate the idea that it's sometimes hard to sift through them all.
I'll sum one up for you - The Nillkin Nature TPU case seems to be very popular. You have to order it from Hong Kong on eBay. I got mine and it is GREAT with one serious flaw in my opinion. It has a plastic flap over the USB power port. It is 100% TPU and very thin, adds almost nothing to the phone. That in turn means it doesn't afford a lot of protection. It does come in a clear version. I got the grey version for my Graphite 6P and cut off the USB power port flap. This makes it slightly imperfect which bugs me a bit. USB flap aside, it's a great case.
Thanks for the info. Yeah I was hesitant start a new convo for it cause I know there are a lot of general case posts, but I thought since clear cases are a thing of their own, itd be nice to have a go to post for those of us interested in them.

I have the Spigen ultra hybrid. Solid case - doesn't feel flimsy like other clear TPU cases. The lip is slightly raised on the front so that the screen wouldn't touch the surface when face down. This case had an issue in the beginning where it looked like there was a small crack near the fingerprint sensor opening (not a crack but it looks like one). They may have fixed it since then. The only complaint i have is that the entire camera black bar is exposed with this case instead of just the area where the lens and laser focus are.
I've tried Spigen ultra hybrid and the neo hybrid ex. Case-mate is the best one. There is a convo about it in the Spigen Neo hybrid ex post.

Yeah the whole opening of the black bar I didn't like as well as the like square outline on the back. Otherwise it looked pretty nice. I ended up going with this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0168DHS1Q/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_CFuGwbXHQ21PE. Looks minimal, easy to take on and off, and slim. We'll see. I wanted to have a case here ready for my phone so needed a prime option. I'll post back on my opinion when I get on the phone.

Just got an Orzly Fusion Bumper case (or something like that). Very nice clear case, boutons are not covered which is very nice, and there is a black color on the sides which mean when you look at screen, edges are also black
Don't know if sides are transparent on other black-sided cases (like Ringke smoke black) but here, it's not.
Any clear case with a logo on it is an instant no-buy for me.
I'm happy with my redSHIELD clear case (Amazon Link)
It's one of the few I found that doesn't have a logo *anywhere* on it. It's a good clear TPU case for the money (likely the same case Orzly uses for its Flexicase). The only minus point is that the power and volume buttons are a bit squishy and harder to press than the actual buttons, but I rarely need to press them.
I am quite happy with the Ringke fusion clear case, it doesn't have the best compatibility with skins like Dbrand or Slickwraps because it has a snug fit but it lets you cut layouts to put between the phone and the case much like the old Nokia 3100
This is slightly unrelated, but how do you guys carry around your nexus 6p with these clear cases? I mean in the pocket? I have the spigen clear case and the case is fine, but every time I slide the phone in my pocket it gets a lot of lint on the front exposed side of the phone. Maybe a wallet style case ?

I don't know if it will help against the lint, but the screen protector is always a good idea. My phone screen is lint free with a SP on it. Lint does accumulate in the gap between SP and case. Some ppl get lint in camera holes, but I haven't.

I love my Spigen Ultra Hybrid.
Nillkin Nature for me! Good for protection in your pockets against debris, not for drops though!
Supcase is nice. A little stiff but it looks nice and is more protective than most of the clears I believe. And the ringke fusion is really nice and softer. It looks great but a bit thinner than the supcase. I have them both.
Famous brand always have high quality but designers won't pay much attention to customers,if they can hear our voices,it will be great!
I've got a Ringke smoke black one. No problems.

Case vs Skin - what do you use?

Hey,

Thisphone is hard to hold naked so I run a case, ringke is my current daily. I'd love to run a skin but they simply aren't attractive with seems, plus I like being able to toss my phone around.
Have you seen the cruzerlite bugdroid cases? I have a red and a black one. However, due to the nature of the material in the semi opaque red one, it is more flexible and does not fit as well as the black one. So the black one stays on permanently.

Yeah I've seen them. They look not bad.
Currently using a silicon case, but planning on using skin sometime soon. Really want to feel the Z5C touch without any hindrance. Love the frosted glass finish on the back.
I wish there was a Diztronic TPU case for it. I've been using their brand for my previous Moto X, Nexus 6 and 5x and they're the best I've had so far. Minimalistic, durable and protective. Anyways for now I'm using a Orzly Semi transparent TPU case bought from Amazon, it's fairly decent compared to what's available, i wouldn't consider a skin on this device.

I've been using the DevilCase aluminum bumper with a tempered glass protector. So far it's held up to all the drops and smacks I've given it. The bumper is visible worn and scratched but the phone itself still looks new.
I use a generic transparent silicone case that covers and provide a front raise.d protection the phone is slippery as hell without a case. I've dropped it several times getting inside and outside of the car during the first 2 months. It got some heavy scratches on the corners and also on the back from slipping it in and out of my front jean pockets. It loses some of it's appeal with the case but then again; I got a much better grip now and I can just drop it instead of 'gently' placing it on the table; and I do this like 100x a day.

It's around $50, not the most expensive of cases but more than the standard TPU and silicone ones.

Ah ok, I'm rocking an orzly case. Not bad either....
I always use TPU cases with my phones. I wish I didn't have to use a case, but your phone WILL eventually fall and hit the ground at some point, so you need protection. I prefer TPU because it's the perfect balance between polycarbonate and silicone. It is hard enough to feel robust and not stick to your pockets (pulling everything up along with your phone), and feels soft enough to absorb impacts. NEVER had a phone crack or dent with one of these. And they fall from hip height from time to time when I get out of the car. I dunno, some part of this is luck, but I trust these cases. They're simple, dirt cheap and efficient.
In addition to a glass scree protector on the front, I use a dbrand sticker on the back to increase grip and protect the glass from breaking or getting scratched.
Ringke Fusion for all my devices. Best protection, small footprint. Never looked back.

interesting
Redneck Tetron. Dual layer protection and stand. I'm very satisfied.
I'm simply using a TPU cover bought for 5 euro and saved my phone already 3 times. It's perfectly fitting the size and doesn't add extra weight or size to the phone itself.
I'm using it combined with a tempered glass.
FYI something like this: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/9CSjnj2gSms/maxresdefault.jpg

ALL users of z5 tried few china tpu cases, but that one is awesome, I recommend 100%, phone looks elegant and like without case ( with dark version). Moreover, it's matt and really nice in touch :good::good::good: youtube.com/ watch?v=GtxgfKDej-E im not a producer, just happy user
I agree, I'd use the phone naked but its too slippary. All I really want is a bumper but no one has any.
Therefore, I just got a black TPU case and cut out the back to make it into a bumper. The cut could have been cleaner but its been working for me.

Anyone found any good cases for the ZenFone 5?
I bought this one (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B4CKP8J) but it is too small to fit the phone. This one (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BNGL61M) fits and is OK if you like TPU cases (I don't but wanted something quick).
Any good ones out there?
I don't know, on amazon.fr, there are only like 3 cases/cover for this phone... *sic*
I just ordered one to try.
This one is awesome. I have just received it and it's perfect ! It's thin and soft, it makes me think of a friend's iphone case. I purchased it on eBay : https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/392038719463

black and silver ain't a bad color combo imo.
So I have the RhinoShield case for the 5z and I justed wanted to highlight some things on it for folks interested in a more heavy duty case:
- Overall quality is very good, stiff.
- Requires a bit of thought to correctly insert your phone into it initially without unnecessary pressure on the phone frame.
- The material used on th sides is a bit slippery. Not glossy but different.
- The back has appropriately size notches to prevent scratches on the scanner and camera covers.
- I have a Skinomi skin on the front and back for extra stuff that may enter the case overtime to prevent case to phone scratches
Now, I just wish other case makers could catch on and present cases like a LoveMei or LifeProof level of protection.
Anyone have a another case sugestion? Imo rhino is still the best at this moment.
I don't know RhinoShield.
My wife has a Nillkin shell for is ZE620KL, the advantage is that it is made of thin hard plastic with good grip. Before it had the same one for an LG G2, the quality was a little better. On the new one the plastic gets dirty more easily....
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Nil...ltra-thin-mobile-phone-shell/32869953152.html
Im looking for a similar case as the one that came with the phone, but with tactile buttons on the case, instead of a simple cutout which i find annoying on this phone.

What are the best cases for the red OP6?

Hi all, I bought the red OP6 a couple of weeks ago and have been using the clear case that was included. I have some mixed feelings about it, the positives for me are the raised corners to protect the screen (I just wish they would have done something similar for the camera), all buttons work perfectly and is clear to show off the amazing red color. I just have one negative issue which for me is very annoying, just at the middle in the back it sticks to the phone like if it is wet, which looks very bad, and creates the rainbow effect to the sides. So with this in mind, I am looking for a new case which hopefully doesn't have this issue.
Which would be the most recommended? And if any of you are using them please post some pics, I can´t seem to find any of the red OP6 in a case.
Thanks guys!

There are little nubs on each corner of the Ringke to prevent it from hitting the desk or table when you put it down which eliminates a lot of the scratching. I used mine for a week and don't see any scratches in it. In the second to last photo the Orzly is on the left and Ringke is on the right. The last photos is the Ringke on the phone.
I have the Ringke clear also *I'm kind of a horder with cases lol* and because of the back being such a hard plastic it has grazes all over it. Dunno if its from being in the pocket with something else or whatever really. Also the cut out for the volume notch is totally off placement. I just can't find one that I'm like wow awesome atm. Although the Spigen case is pretty dam good but I have a dbrand skin on and it isn't a clear case unfortunately as you also would like. Would you consider a bumper case like Rhinoshields? I am awaiting mine to try out.

The Rhinoshield looks similar to the Orzly. I'm also a case hoarder and have 7 cases for the OP6. Every time a new one comes out that looks good I buy it. So far the Orzly is my favorite.
i dont think you should use a case on a red oneplus but no doubt the official red case is nice but my most used case if the nylon case which is so damn perfect... looks nice but also adds lots of grip and protection

Would not recommend it. I bought it, and the back doesn't sit close enough to the phone. At the camera cut-out there is about 1-2mm of space between the back of the case and the phone. If u don't have any skin on it you will scratch the back of your phone from all the dust and partials that can get through it.
Recommend these for the RED OP6. I own the first one.
# Good Quality. Fits well.
# Rubberised in and out.
# No room on the inside to cause scratches.
# Transparent Back.
# Decent lip on the front. Not the best raise, but certainly helps when flipping the phone over without having the screen touch the surface. Might be a problem for phone with a tempered glass. Check comments on Amazon for more info.

A review from one user who lately got one:

Thanks for the feedback, I too heard that the scratches in the Ringke came from evryday use and just having it in your pocket, whic is what worries me.
I do want to try the Rhinoshields bumper, I had one in my iPhone and an S7 and really liked them, but I am not sure how it would look since there is only black or white, and I think it takes away from the red phone aesthetics.
The Supcase might be the one, it looks pretty cool, except maybe for the black bumper. If ti were red or clear it would be a total winner.
Anyone has any experience with the Nillkin Nature Series? It looks nice !

@angelmex check this out might be useful. All clear back cases but with red edges could look cool:

Imo the TPU one looks dam sexy lol

This case looks good! Yes, I have been eyeing the Ringke, although I have read in several posts that it scratches very easily, is this true? And dothis Orzly scratches as well?

Ringke sucks for the slider. Can't access it easily.

Thats very true, my ringke fusion get all scratchy and I just kept my phone in my pocket. To cover the damage of ringke i covered it with the carbon fibre skin and now it looks more like a bumper from oneplus except for the logo.
nylon case is best as for me

getting mine tomorrow! how does it fare? i usually have a military grade case and as an added security, i stick one of those ring things to hold it with finger securely.
But since it has a nylon back, i cant do that, i hope its really protective since i drop my phone alot
i might be getting a clear case in a few weeks, i feel it is cruel to hide this beautiful Red beast.
