[problem] Stock camera HDR mode broken - Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus Questions & Answers

Dear fellas,
So I was trying to download the Google camera app port from here:
https://www.xda-developers.com/google-camera-hdr-customization-raw-support/
And after downloading it, I had no luck in launching the app, not even after trying to:
- Clear cache and data for both the stock camera app and the Google one.
- Enabling Camera2 API, by adding this string to build.prop: 'persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1'
- Rebooting the device multiple times.
So now, after I gave up on getting it working, I uninstalled the Google camera app, and removed the added string to build.prop, and cleared the cache and data for the stock camera app. Then rebooted the device.
Now when I try to shoot using the HDR mode on my stock camera, the app freezes and it crashes. And it won't open up again until I reboot the device. I can't manage to get it to shoot in HDR, but other modes are running fine.
Does anyone know what to do to solve this? Or even if it was possible to run the Google camera app?
I am running a rooted Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus, 128 GB
Running on: MIUI Global 8.5 | Stable
8.5.2.0 (MBGMIED)
Will copying the original build.prop for my device solve this? I don't have the original one though. So any thoughts would be much appreciated!

[Q] Camera ICS+ not working!

Hello, I use the app Camera ICS+ (version 1.2.1b) by Moblynx already for months and it has no problems at all but I don't know why recently when I want to update manually to a new version of the same app (version 1.3.1a), it fails to upgrade. Okay, that is not a problem for me, but the real problem is that when I just want to re-open the older version (version 1.2.1b), it opens very slow, and the zooming bar loads up also slow and sometime it crashes and a message (Activity Camera ICS+ (in application Camera ICS+) is not responding) prompts up. I've tried to force close the app or even reboot my device. But nothing works. Please help!

Camera with Photosphere

I've been attempting to install the Google edition camera with photosphere on my HTC One XL running CM11.
There are a number of threads with a link to download an APK based on the camera from Android 4.3 or 4.2.
e.g. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2472879 from the EVO 3D thread
When I attempt to install this APK, It simply says Not Installed.
My understanding was that it would coexist with the existing Gallery and camera app.
So I looked for another way to install the camera and found the following link to put together a ZIP to install from Recovery:
http://floodping.org/photosphere-on-cyanogenmod-11-4.4.2/
I followed this through and made a zip file; booted into Recovery (TWRP 2.6.3 with SELinux) and installed it.
It showed up in the applications as Camera, the same as the CM11 camera but is installed in /system/app/GoogleCamera.apk where CM11's camera is called Camera2.apk
I used the Nexus 5 factory image as the basis for this. My zip file.
The results:
Camera, video and panorama worked as for the normal camera
Photosphere started fine. Took a number of photos in the grid. Hit the stop button. Hadn't crashed yet. Now if I change anything it crashes "unfortunately camera has stopped" or similar. At that point, if it hasn't completed rendering the panorama it creates then it will manually need to be force stopped.
By anything, I mean closing the camera or trying to change the camera mode. You can swipe to show the filmstrip view of previous photos but if you select one then the camera crashes.
So... I left it sitting there with the camera open for a while - hopefully long enough to do whatever rendering it needed. Then crashed out. Viewed in gallery and shared in Google+. Here.
One odd thing. I took images around about 180 degrees. They were stitched together as if they were 360 degrees.
I do have a couple questions:
For the APK version - any idea why it would say "Not Installed"? I had enabled Unknown Sources. I do have Norton Mobile installed.
Recovery installed version:
Is anyone working on the development of this?
Is there anything I can do?
I used the Nexus 5 factory image as the base. Generally I understood that apps are fairly universal so would it make any difference to use the Nexus 4 image?
Has anyone else had success, limited or otherwise, with Photospheres on the Evita?
Moved to the Q&A forum since this is essentially a troubleshooting issue and I think you'll get better exposure here.
For your first question, the only reason I see is because it is trying to overwrite a system file.
I suggest going into /system/app and backing up your current camera APK and then deleting it. Restart the phone and THEN try to install the new APK.
AFAIK, the apps should be relatively universal along the same base, provided you are using the same Android version, this does have exceptions though.

Question Galley app not working after update A12

Hello, I just factory reset my OnePlus and updated to 11_c.47. I'm now facing a minor issue where my gallery app isn't display previews to my photos. When I select a photo it won't load however, when I select a video it will load. I can see my photos in other gallery apps aswell as google photos. I found others with similar issues and tried clearing the data like they said, but with no luck. The phone is rooted. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated!

Question Google cam force closing and rebooting

Ever since I received pixel 6A, I have been experiencing this issue which I believe is well known to prior releases in this series.
The moment I open Google cam downloaded from play store and not installed from gcam port repos, it force closes and immediately reboots my device.
Are there any workarounds other than using another app for this?
Google camera is a system app built in, why would you need to download it from the store?
Try to factory flash or just replace from Google

I didn't separately download it from the Google Play store, but it did update itself.
Also the reason I specifically mentioned it being sourced from play store is to let experts know that I am not using any gcam ports or custom modified version of Google camera app.

Interesting....cant say Ive ever seen that happen.
@nikha I too faced the same issue when I got my P6a. It was on Android 12 and I updated all the apps including camera from Playstore. Suddenly it would freeze for a second and the phone would reboot whenever I opened the camera app.
Fix - I cleared the data of the camera app and updated to Android 13 and did factory reset. The issue has not occurred again. So far, no issues.

I did all that you have done and suggested, but no change unfortunately.

If that's the case, I would return it. That sounds hardware related if it's happening with vanilla no apps installed that might interfere android.
