[ Update ] Xperia L Android 4.2.2 Update Rolled Out - ( previous update was android 4.1.2, now joins the elite list of android 4.2.2 Xperia Z Family ).
Firmware build - 15.3.A.0.26 firmware, 700 MB update over PCC / SUS.
Confirmed on both C2104 and C2105 in regions like Indonesia, India, Philippines, Central Europe etc.

15.3.A.0.26 is 4.2.2, my sources were correct when i quoted it earlier and many people doubted it
Changelog / Features :- ( As per many users mentioned across the forum )
- New home screen UI, you can add upto 7 window panes now.
- Add more widgets in homescreen and loclscreen now.
- Bug fixes and performance enhancement.
- Superior auto mode ( auto scene recognition ) and Burst Mode feature added in Camera interface. Camera is certainly improved a lot in this update.
- Updated Sony Media apps.
- Small apps accessible from homescreen.
- Improved search and app sorting now.
- New Keyboard added.
- Transparent dock at the bottom part on homescreen.
- False memory notification bug is rectified.
- Day Dream feature added in display settings.

this is just my speculation,15.0 was 4.1 for Xperia L then 15.1 was 4.1 jelly bean for Xperia M and when Xperia M dual cameout with 15.2 series 4.2 jelly bean... Maybe 15.3 series is 4.2 jelly bean for xperia L

Confirmed from Sources, 15.3.A.0.26 will bring Android 4.2.2 on Xperia L Sure
I don't think we will habe 4.2.2, that wouldn't make any sense. Sony said they will make an upgrade from 4.1 to 4.3 for some 2013 devices.
Must say we will have 4.3. But we have to wait.

first of all i don't have authority to delete it.
Second that post was put in XL 4.3 thread and here i have posted it as android 4.2.2 update which is about to come. CONFIRMED.

unfortunately it is 4.2.2 only. I have confirmed from the internals ( from Sony ). 4.3 will come once whole Z Family is updated with it.
What source it is ? I can say by myself that we will have 4.4 too because someone said from Sony. I wan't to see the source.

obviously if i have my internal source , I will not tell you, quite obvious thing... And if you don't believe it....it doesn't not bother me...you can say that you will get 4.4 or whatever...
But truth is that it is 4.2.2 and first 4.3 will come to Z family not XL, it's obvious too

Your wrong, it was certificed on 21. Not released.
So, if we have this update, what will be the benefits for those who have locked bootloader like me? 4.2.2 it's easier to develop to or something else?

no advantage...maybe update OTA but not sure.as soon as it's released in one region someone will post a ftf and we'll flash it right away,no need to wait for all carriers to release it.

All the minor updates that 4.2.2 brings. You can google android version history and read up on the things added or fixed.
Hopefully Sony will fix some of the minor issues that some people with the phone.

Only time will tell though.

Hello, I decided to share a small application "port" from Z3 compact for Z1 compact (and probably others).
What is Sony MultiCamera?
Sony MultiCamera is an application that enables your phone(s) to do this: Record the same scene from multiple angles (through multiple phones) on a single screen with up to three compatible Xperia devices
Requirements
-Sony Stock ROM 5.1.1 (5.0 might also work)
-Recovery for flashing
How to install
1. Flash the attached zip file (obvious huh?)
How to use
You need at least two compatible Xperia phones. Launch the main camera app on both and select the camera mode "Multi camera". Connect both devices using Android Beam (need to be on same wifi network!) aaaand - that's it. You are ready to start.

Why does the Z3 not work properly with the Layers/Substratum. Didn't Sony actually create the code in the first place and then Google included the code at base level from MM onwards? The themes i've installed look awesome but my phone crashes every time I try to make a phone call and randomly reboots.
I'm running ExistenZ 5.1.0 (MM 6.0.1), Rooted, UB. D6603.
Is there device specific themes for layers etc?

Tested a few more popular and quality looking black themes without success. I'm only really interested in black so won't try much else.
Noticed instagram crashes when updated on Black Material. Another app with a small pop up crashes on Material Glass. Need to be aware these types of crashes are going to occur on themes. Worth it for the look though!

Secondly, I would like to leave a question.
Is there any way to implement the double-tap-to-wake with XZP on the stock firmware?
I'm pretty sure this gesture is available on most FWs based on the "pure" android, which also means:
-gb DRM
-gb stock camera app
-gb nice video recording with the best stabilization
-farewell 960fps video shooting
-forget about the OTA updates
...fairly, at the same time there are many benefits, like
-gCam, RAW photo/video shooting
...xposed, Viper4Android
etc. But, still, what exactly is the problem with the XZP that it doesn't support the DT2W feature?
You can get dt2w using the Androplus kernel. However, that requires you to unlock the bootloader.
I read that Sony just removed the feature itself. I miss that feature on the Z2 and Z5, but imo it's fine since my phone's screen kept turning on in my pocket.

-Androplus kernel, isn't it too old by now?
-sony must be really so stupid to not be aware that they can implement the proximity sensor check on dt2w, which doesn't let the screen turn on even if the power btn is pressed while the phone is in the pocket or elsewhere when it really shouldn't turn on the screen because of an accidental activity.

Yes, basically anyone can do that.
I personally prefer the stock fw. Mostly because of the camera. AOSP doesn't use Sony's camera api, sooo the image quality won't be the same. Besides, you won't be able to use the 960 fps super-slomo either.
Even on older phones, I've always preferred stock fw. It's close to pure android anyway. I have tried AOSP builds before, and always ended up going back to stock.

I use gravity screen app to wave above the screen to turn it on instead of double tap to wake. Has more helpful features too.
Waveup wakes the screen and is almost the same as DT2W. It has lots of positive feedback from the XZ1c thread.
