RCC not sending verification code - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions & Answers

So the update hit last night and I can't get the rich communications chat code to send. It's just counts down and says "resend" and nothing. I tried restarting it and clearing the app. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I am having the same issues

I7
I have the same problem. It's pissing me off. It's been a week. I even called customer service to make sure there was no block on short codes on my line. And ya. Still nothing

Is anyone missing text messages? I have a high number of missed texts now.

Same issue here. Haven't received another code. Hit resend and nada. Message is annoying.

you have too many messages and need to delete them. This happened to me and slowed down my phone. I deleted them and it ran fine and I got no message after that. Also clear the browser cache
the problem is when i try to delete threads, it freezes again

I had 400 messages and it took me a good 5 minutes to delete them all... I probably clicked the wait button a good 5 to 10 times.
thanks, i'll try that but i got way more messages then 400 lol

I had 600 when I noticed the slow down... it took awhile to delete those since then I delete at about 400 or so
FWIW, it seems there might be a problem with the push on outgoing messages tonight
I am having a problem that when I get new SMS, it uses the "From" in the list of messages as an old (and deleted) thread all the time. I also can't reply to those SMS, but have to Compose a new message to respond. The only SMS that seems to work correctly are ones that I had received from contacts before I received the one SMS that it keeps using as the "From". So, in case it wasn't clear, all my new SMS show as coming from the same address (which happens to be an email address) and I can't reply to them. I'm sure a hard reset would fix this, but I don't want to have to go through reloading everything to just fix this one thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I am a little confused on what is happening. You are saying you are receiving a ton of messages from an email address? or that your sending sms from an email address?

Any new SMS I receive from a contact show up in the message list (main screen where the "New Message" option shows as well as your messages threads) as coming from this one specific email address I received a message from about a week ago. If I open up that message thread, it shows the SMS as coming from the correct person but if I try and reply to it, it gives me an error saying "Your message has no valid recipients", so I have compose a new SMS from the main screen and put the address in to be able to respond. Some how it is keeping that one address and assigning any new SMS to that name in the thread list as well as not using the right address for replying. It's really strange and it's bugging the heck out of me!

Call Cust service and tell them you need Tier 2 support for Smart/Blackberry. They can fix your texting issues

I am having the same problem. When I send a new sms or recieve one, the reply always goes to the first entry in my address book, which happens to be a land line, and I then have to create a new message to reply. I tried deleting all the old messages, and now all the messages have this same problem.
Is there any way to fix this without having to do a hard reset?
I had to get a new SIM card from T-Mobile to resolve my messaging problems. Guess it was a good time since I had the same one for 8 years now.
I had to get a new SIM card when I bought my G1, mine was only 5 years old ;-)
So that shouldnt be the issue for me.

Mass Text not working

In the past 2 days ive tried to send a group text on 2 seperate occasions to 2 separate groups of people. on both occasions ive gotten the "Cant send message, try again later" error message.
Anyone else having this problem? or know what would prevent the group text from going out. I've successfuly done it before.
Im running mango beta2, not the refresh
I believe when you send a text in Mango to multiple people it sends it as a group text, which is an MMS. Could this have something to do with it? You can try disabling Group text in the messaging setting and see if that helps.

Text Messages not being sent?

Does anyone have an issue with text messages not being sent? Oftentimes I will send a message and then immediately get a message that it was not sent. It will try 3-4 more times. I can "solve" this by opening up the browser which activates the data connection, and then the message is sent no problem.
It's been a bit annoying so just wondering if anyone else has seen this. I actually had this issue with my G2 as well so maybe I need a new SIM?
I also have this issue, though sometimes it seems related to a particular text, because if I send another one, with different writing, it will frequently send and then allow the other to send as well.

Hi,
How many bars are you showing?
The only time mine did not send was when there was no signal(duh?)
The rest of the time it's fine and quick.
Maybe it's time for a new sim.
How old is yours?
I faced that
recently found the problem !
I didn't pay the bill

Hangouts does not support Short Codes

I was stunned to discover this morning that the DEFAULT messaging app cannot send SMS to Short Codes. I'd have to say I'm more than a little shocked that our texting app is missing core functionality.
I've already submitted a topic on Google's Product forum.
I just realized this myself and probably looked ridiculous standing in front of a short code and not being able to figure it out...

are you sure it's hangout's problem? what's your carrier?
I can send short code without problem.
Well i feel dumb... you just need to scroll past all the G+ bs and contacts to get to the send sms option... it shouldnt be all the way at the bottom but whatever...
I have no problems sending to and receiving from short codes using Hangouts. Don't know why anyone else would have this problem. The first time I received one, it prompted to possibly incur charged from my Service Provider, but past that it acts just fine.

On T-Mobile I got that same popup, and it says that the messages have been sent, but I do not receive any response back from the short code. Like the local radio station here is 48258. Usually you get a auto response saying thank you for txting blah blah blah. With hangouts I do not get that response.

Yeah, see - I don't get that problem. I can properly respond and receive a response back and so on. I'm on AT&T - don't see why that would be carrier specific.

Not sure, i have been much to lazy to download a 3rd party sms app to test it to see if its actually hangouts or carrier having issues. Might give it a try tonight and report back.
I always stored those few short codes like #225# or #932# in the Phonebook & dial from there. It's a Pop-up showing the info onscreen but not saved to as incoming SMS, unlike traditional non-smart phone like the old LG or Sony. Hangout is on the MMS path and that should explain the reasons for not being able to use it.
I just did a test from couple different SMS apps and none of them get a reply from 5 digit numbers. Also my google voice number is not getting a response, so I have no idea if it is working or not.

Suddenly - No incoming SMS!?!

Hello guys!
Since yesterday I can't receive SMSs. I'm on OB25 and with two SIMs, and almost nothing comes through to either of them. Tried removing one or both, rebooting, changing SMS apps, setting the Messages app to "Do not Optimize", nothing works. *Some* times after reboot I may get one or two, at most, incoming messages, but that's it.
Also tried swapping SIMs, using my wife's OP7. Messages are received fine there. When I put my SIM back and rebooting, only got one of the test messages I sent from her phone.
Interestingly, sending a SMS to myself from another phone shows "delivered", but nothing actually is!
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Thanks for the tip.
I haven't changed anything -as a matter of fact yesterday morning I happened to send quite a few SMSsb at work and discovered the issue when I stopped getting replies.
I checked now, they seem to be ok, although there appears to be no SMS-related APN, only for mms and internet?
Also, as I said, I happen to get one every now and then. That, plus the fact that they're marked as Delivered on the sender's device would seem to indicate something else... Or at least I think so.
No ideas? Damn

APN has not nothing to do with sms, it needs proper smsc number to work.

SMSC is actually correct for both SIMs. What is really strange in my case is that incoming messages are marked as delivered on the sender's phone...

Hmm, haven't noticed. How can you switch?
Just for the heck of it I just disabled data and send a message. Again, instantly marked as received, nothing on my end...

Ok, tried that too. No difference... still only getting one or two SMSs when rebooting, all others fail. This morning I rebooted and got a couple of messages sent three days ago!
