Hello everybody,
I have an unusual problem - I was given money...
To be exact, my company awarded me with around $800 gift voucher for amazon.com. The only problem is I live in Europe, Poland to be exact. And since it is a pain in the ... head to bother with spending all of it for small time shopping (all the shipment hassle and such). So I thought I might replace my current android device with Sony Xperia Z3. A quick search on amazon reveals a few options:

this one seems to be most promising.
Now, can anyone advise me on this choice? As it's a GSM phone i get it will work in Poland, maybe with limited LTE capabilities but that is ok for me. What about anything else I might not be aware of? Is there any other potential problem regarded to moving phone to other part of the world?
Also, can anyone help me guess, what sort of guaranty does the item description mention? The seller was not very specific about it, which raise a bit of a concern by the way...
Anyway, I would appreciate any guidance on my crazy idea on buying this specific phone, what do you think?
The seller is Sony themselves lol... The Z3 is a great device. Do note that if you are someone who loves to root your android phone, this might not be the phone for you. In order to root the phone, you will have to unlock the bootloader which will cause the DRM keys to be lost forever. This will cause the camera to be very bad in low light especially and other features to be lost forever, even after u unroot.

Hmm, here is how it looks from where I sit, the seller in lower circle, and sony mentioned as manufacturer... I think Amazon is a confusing place compared to ebay or our local shopping websites. If it was really Sony who sold this particular phone, I wouldn't be afraid to get it.
Anyhow, your information about rooting of Xperia Z3 is very useful... Thank you for this valuable piece of knowledge.

The seller shld be Sony themselves. Sony relies on manufacturers to make their phone and that OE USA is most probably the manufacturer for the z3. So i wouldnt worry abt it too much. U can ask for a refund if the z3 turns out bad.

I bought my X from carphone warehouse so its just a standard back cover version. The moto maker website only shows a clam shell case available. Any ideas where its possibly to by different backplates for it?

I probably should have clarified that id like to know if there is an option available in the UK. I hate ordering from China for the simple fact I am impatient with the delivery times on there.
I was after a more official item but thanks for pointing the other thread out.
Re-reading that thread I know another reason I didn't bother. They don't fit properly not like the original. But there is a post saying Motorola confirmed they have no plans to sell the backs separately. Shame.

I've been an avid Sony fan since the first Z, but now it's getting harder and harder to get one here in the US. Does anyone have any information about where to purchase this amazing phone in the US wen it comes out?
get it from clove.co.uk. Price is cheaper than any other international store I've seen so far (~$666 after conversion)
there hasn't been any word on an official US release date, but Clove says 1st week of October elsewhere around the world.

Thanks, I checked it out, but it seems like $600 is before VAT and before shipping.... It will end up like $800 just for the regular z5. :crying:

VAT isnt included if you're an international buyer. Shipping is £17 extra, so the total comes to £454 which is $700 last i checked.

For the normal z5. You can check for the premium price. Maybe around £500...

In the UK the Moto z force has zero support so accessories are not easy to get. I am looking for a case that will also fit with the incipico battery mod. I believe only the Verizon one will fit. But sadly they won't ship to Uk. Would any long term trusted member be prepared to buy it for me and post it to me? I will of course cover all costs.

I found the clear version on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/162215238738 if you want it in black maybe you can try to message the seller and see if he can get it. I messaged him as I need one for the Play too.
