XZS Case Fit on XZ? - Sony Xperia XZs Questions & Answers

Edit: I flipped it in the thread title.
Anyone know if XZ case fits on the XZS? I'm guessing the camera size on the back is the only difference. I like the genuine Sony cases for the XZ, but no reference as to whether they would fit the XZS.
Has anyone tried?

From what I know most cases fit perfectly, except where XZs slight protruding camera becomes an issue. So if you're buying an XZ case, just observe the area around the camera lens and see if there's a little more space near the lens.

Thanks for the reply. It looks to be the case but wasn't sure. In any regard, I ended up getting the RhinoShield for now and I'm actually very pleased with it. I'd still like to get the Sony Touch Case but I'll see if anyone tries it out first.

I have a question on SCSF10 Case. Is closing and opening the case working with wake up and standby functionality?
And another question. Try somebody Sony Style Cover Touch SCTF10 on Xperia XZs? I really like this cover on my Xperia XZ, but someone stole my phone with it. I hope that intalling Style Cover app will help.

Just get tough armor case since the case is thick . You wouldnt have to worry about the protruding camera lens .

Simplism screen protector

Just got one of these tonight and put it on my Z removing the cheap xtremeguard I put on there. I got their Bubble-less Double Film Set. Easy to install and crystal clear. No rubbery feel like Zagg or xtremeguard. It still gets some finger prints but the feel of it is what I was after. Smooth like factory. Covered up the slight scratches in the anti-shatter film I had from regular use too.
You can find it at www.trinity.jp according to the packaging.

So what made you go for this, instead of the nifty glass protectors everyone's been yapping about? (I'm asking because I'm considering getting one of said glass covers, but wonder if the expense is worth it.)
Also, what kind of case, if any, did you get?

Don't use a case. Actually got it from my friend who works at Sony. Used it to replace the crappy xtreme guard I was using. I've never used the glass ones so I can't comment in them. They seem expensive though if you do happen to scratch it and want to replace it. I'm the kind of person that will replace my screen protectors if I scratch them even slightly so I don't get the expensive ones usually.

Whuuuuuut? No case?
Actually, I read a few comments from people who've dropped their Zs and were amazed at the beating it took. So yeah, as I struggle to find something that still displays the Z's beauty, I keep thinking, "...Maybe I don't need one."

But on the other hand, there were some "incidents" where people's screens broke wile it was barely touched.
I just couldn't out a case on this thing. Would totally take away from the look. I've used other cases on my past devices but the Z I just can't bring myself to do it.

Bezel Chipping...

I've had my Z3 now for a couple weeks, came from a z2.
In my one year with the 2 I had no chips, obviously some scratches and scuffs but no chips.
My Z3 already has two chips on the top bezel one in the front and a smaller one in the back, is this a common issue?
I buy this phone because I hate cases so the dust/waterproofing is the big draw for me.
Sad to see these chips so soon..
Got the same issue here. Very bad though

Protective case is the way to go.
This may sound like comparing apple and oranges...
Imagine your car vs keys...nasty...or rubbing dust-sand on car...that is why people makes-uses protective cases...
Can u post some pictures? I intermittently use a case and sometimes not. I am leaning towards not putting a case on bcos a case seems hiding the beauty but this post bothered me. Do u own the black one?

Actually I think with a protector like that, dust still finds its way in and scratches the phone anyway.

I use a similar transparent case for mine but the feel in the hand with it bare is just awesome. I put it in the case when charging bec people/I might accidentaly kick the wire and send my Z3 flying. Lol

Dunno... My phones are always naked and I never have any issues. There are scratches and what not, but that's what makes it special.
I have foil on the back and not a single spot on the metal body...
I'll never put a case on the I s thing, never did with my z2 either.
tempered glass front and back and that's it.
I also make sure my phones always in a pocket by itself.. Wasn't asking for advice on cases simply asking if this problem is wide spread.
Seems odd these company's change materials from one flagship to the next when the previous one clearly had a more durable finish.

Sorry for off topic...
But nothing in the world happens by itself, if you scratch aluminum (not so scratchproof material) it will show marks. Never heard that on Z3 is used some kind of extra soft aluminum...to put it short...good luck...

[Question] Do you need a Case?

Is the back prone to scratches? Is the phone too slippery to handle?
Whats your opinion?

Yes, you definitely need a case for this device, I dropped it once & now it has dents & many small scratches on it.

Yup, minor scratches, visible when you clean the back of your device, the type of ones that you get when you slide your phone on a hard surface.
I own all of the Sony Xperia cases but I only use them if I know for sure I'll be in situations where a drop is likely and I'm not in my daily routine / distracted like a trade show.
In my own experience, which will differ from others, the screen will break with the right fall, case or not,
so I don't use one regularly on Xperia phones. My black XZ Looks fine with regular use/wear tear.
( The way I feel is with a case, I'm not using it as the designers intended, and never get to really see it... and I don't like to babysit phones for their future owners. )

I do exactly the same thing, don't use those covers in regular practice, but every now & then it's going to fall & get damaged, so I don't think much about it.
I thougt i wouldnt need any case but found out my XZ was a little bent, tried to staighten it up by bending it and ordered a rigid PC case hoping it wont bend again...

Forest Blue.
The back and front will show wear no different to most other phones, it's the glossy plastic sides you need to be extra careful with. I'm annoyed that Sony didn't use anodised metal for the sides.
I've just ordered a Noreve case, Ambition black grained leather for external color, and indigo interior lining, to match with Forest Blue.
Expensive, but awesome case!
I'm still ordering those cases, for every phone I buy.
With metallic back fastener for belt clip.
I'll post pics when it come home! (14 days, build on demand).
And for less than 2 days, "15% off for mobile devices's covers and small leather goods - Privilege discount code: NEWYEAR17" :good:
Bought mine last December 26 and up until now it's still naked. No TG, camera lens protector, back protector and case. Gotta buy them once I get a job.?

Modifying a case to fit the 360 camera

Hello, I just bought the Essential phone and I bought the 360 camera. However, the case I bought requires me to remove my phone from the case to use the 360 camera. I know there is a case that fits works with the 360 camera. However, the case I bought I really wanted because it is clear and I am a lottle shallow and want to show off that it has no logo, which, I think is kind of cool. I figured that once I got the case I could mark an outline on the case with a pencil then cut it so that it fits the camera. Has anyone ever done something like this? Do you think this is a good idea or should I just return the case and buy the proper case that fits the 360 camera.
This is my current case that I am considering modifying: EDIT: As a new user I am not allowed to provide links.
This is a case that is sold that already fits the 360 camera: EDIT: As a new user I am not allowed to provide links.

Would you mind sharing where you purchased the case and/or keywords you used to find it???
I made a paper template. Then I used a small Razer knife to cut my tpu case. Works fine.

Moment Case for OnePlus 6

Hey guys
just received my Moment lens case today.
So far so good, I talked to the owner and the 6T cases will be out sometime in February.
This case seems really solid and the wooden part feels like actual wood (not sure if it is or not)
I'll keep you guys up dated as I play to use it this holiday a lot with the family.
Do you know if the lenses are compatible with the Rhinoshield adapter? The mounting system looks the same.
Can i get the link?

I'm honestly unsure
Yeah I'm kinda curious bout that too, Moment took their sweet time releasing this case and I couldn't wait for some "timeline" so I jumped on rhinoshield, the mount does indeed look very similar.
I like moment's lens selection, especially that anamorphic lens, I may just buy a lens to see for myself and if I need a case, I'll get it

I can't find a real review of the moment lens on the oneplus 6. I've been googling reviews everyday.
What's it like?
I've personally been waiting for years for Moment to make a OnePlus case!
I was on my OnePlus 2 when a friend got his first lens for his Pixel...
Moment lens are quality, they start to be pricy when you start getting them all considering it's for a cell phone, but at the same time, it's cheap when comparing on getting the equivalent on a DSLR... So it's a little mix feeling.
Really thought, your phone is the best camera you almost always have with you and much compact to carry around a couple Moment lens then a camera bag.
I used to be a full time photographer so it's not going to replace any of my gear when I really want a quality photo but it's definitively a fun tool to carry around.
I just received my black case and the wide angle. Looks and work very well!
Here are some sample shots I today with and withought the wide
Cheers
The distortion of the wide 18mm is driving me nuts. It looks like everything is slanted away from the lens.
Bought a moment wide 18mm v2 for my OnePlus 6T. But since the case isn't it yet, I also bought a Sirui 60mm (direct competition to the new Moment 58mm tele) with the same lens mount... and that comes with a clip-on style.
So I put the clip on my 6T and mounted the Moment wide lens on the clip. And no matter how I mounted it, there is a HUGE amount of blockage in the corners of my smartphone viewfinder.
Curious to know, how close does the moment oneplus 6 case comes to the OnePlus 6 lens? Because the sirui clip is not more than 1mm thick and that thickness is already causing the lens to block part of the total image.

I bought the Sirui set that includes wide (18mm?), macro and portrait (60mm) that came with the clip. Then i got the moment case for the OP6. Withe the moment case, i get a small but noticeable dark corners with the wide. The dark corners are barely noticeable with the 60mm. See pics attached (wide, no lens, portrait, in that order).
I should mention that i can't get fingerprint unlock with the lens mounted. Perhaps it would work if i redo the fp with the very tip of my finger.
Pics of the mount please! Shame I can't find a case with 17mm or best, 37mm standard lens mount so that we have a bigger selection.

Not sure what you want to see... Here are some pics of the moment case with and without the sirui 60mm lens.
These lenses are large enough to block the secondary camera on the OP6. Not sure how that affects IQ.
the case looks really beautifull on the backside it also protects the camera, however does it has decent lip to protect the screen ?
