I have 6 hours SOT. I saw someone post screenshots with 8 hours!

Today for some reason my bat died in just 5 hours from 100%
Screen time was 25% as the most and phone idle at 22%
Strange!

Battery Usage Report Question

Hello,
When I view the battery usage report in settings, I get something like:
75% Battery
6 hours 32 min
Screen 57%
I initially thought that meant I've been running on battery for 6 hrs 32 min and my screen has been on 57% of the time or roughly 4 hours (that would be awesome with just 25% battery use!). But when I look at the screen details, it says it's only been on for 52 min. Does anyone know what the 57% actually means and what that extrapolates to in terms of how long my screen will last on a full charge?
Thanks

There is a couple threads out there on battery life. You get about 2-4 hours of on screen time depending on brightness. Using LTE will lower this.
I believe the screen is the total % of usage compared to other apps or utilities you use with the phone such as say deep sleep. Once you click the actual event it'll give you details of total usage time. Hope this helps

It's how much power the screen has used compared to the other factors. Think of it like a pie chart basically

Yup. % just means of the power consumed so far, 57% was used for the screen being on. If you want to see how long the screen has been on, tap on the row that says Screen, and it will give you details.

How does the battery drain on your S6?

On my G3, when I fully charge the phone, it would stay at 100% for a VERY long time before dropping down to 99%. The most I've gotten out of the 1% before was about 25 minutes of SoT.
On my S6, once the phone is fully charged, it seems to drop to 99% very quickly, within just a couple minutes of using the device.
What causes this difference between the two models and does your S6 act the same way as mine?
So far my GF and I notice the battery drops quickly also.

Battery is terrible!!! Drains at about 10% per hour.. And I'm on the latest available stock rom.

That's pretty damn good if it do so. That's 10 hour SOT.
I can barely get 4 hours SOT.
Battery life is good for me.
19hrs since last charge, 52% power remaining. Screen on time of 1h 15min.

Yes but look at the great standby time.
Genetic is inline to get around 2-3hrs SOT with almost 40hrs Standby thats not too bad actually
But on screen time ia surely more important

Sure SOT is important but it depends on your standby too. Example 6hrs SOT with 8hrs Standby is kinda expected and normal. If you can get 6hrs SOT with 24hrs Standby the that is mightly impressive.
True but 19 hrs standby and 1 30 on screen is awful. That means you picked up the phone and drained it half way in an hour and a bit

Im not sure you get how it works bud.
That 1.5hrs SOT was not achieved in one continous sitting.
If you read my previous post i explained that you can get 6hrs SOT with the S6 easy but your standby will be short say around 8hrs. If you watch videos no stop on the S6 you could probably get 7-8hrs SOT before the battery is flat. This is normal for the S6.
Basically: Long SOT = shorter standby
Long standby = shorter SOT
The Holy Grail is Long Standby + Long SOT
EDIT: Im only referring to the S6 in my asaumption. There are flagships out that can get long standby and long SOT already out there namely Note4 and Mate7.
I have pretty terrible standby time though. An all nighter drained 10% but if i use the phone continuously i could get 4hrs of sot lol
Brightness was on auto

I get about a day standby with between 4-5 SOT.
Overnight drain is around 3-4%, I normally sleep around 7hrs a night.
I'm using XtreStoLite seriously debloated ROM, Ktoonsez 920F Kernel.
Also using App Ops and Disable Service to kill Google Play Services wakelocks.
Hope this helps you get better battery life bud.
Playing music through streaming music app Simfy, doesn't require the screen to stay on.
SOT isn't the only way to gauge a battery's performance.
Haha you guys took this thread pretty off-topic. My question was more related to the actual way your battery drains vs battery life.

Apologies OP didn't mean to derail tour thread.
Hmm i wouldnt want to root and unlock yet. Im gonna give it at least a month or two because the rattling home button is quite a concern to me. Even though its not really that bad
Man I must be lucky cause battery life for me looks REALLY good, especially considering the small capacity and the 2k display. Last night I fell asleep in front of the TV with my phone at 20%, woke up this morning and it was still at 20%. It's sipping battery nicely. I'm happy!
Edit: I'm all stock using the G920i. My brightness is controlled manually indoors, automatically outdoors.

I noticed the same thing with my S6 the first night I got it. It came with 50% battery and after an update and me playing around with it a bit I went off to bed at about 23%. The next morning I woke up and it was at 22%. I consider that to be exceptional considering nothing was disabled and it wasn't even on its first charge.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to fully set up my S6 due to exams so it's been sitting on my desk looking pretty. I'm still using my S5 for the time being and plan to fully switch over to the S6 in the next few days!

crazy cell standby powerdrain!

Hi there. just noticed that my u11 had 16% power, even though I haven't used it that much today. Cell standby has taken 30% off ny power?! I have a perfect signal at all times. Does anyone knoe if this is a bug or if its a fix? my screen on time today has only been 3 hours.

I feel it is there simply because nothing else in terms of the OS is using battery life.
My cell standby drain was 40% the other day. Didn't stop me getting 6.5 hours SOT with 35 hours uptime using 4g

hi, i have the same problem. 7 days ago I replaced the battery at my u11 because it didn't last that long, but the anomaly remained. there is always a high consumption of the mobile network standby item and I can't make more than 3 hours of screen on.

How accurate is the SOT in battery usage report on OP6

Just got the phone on Wednesday. So far this is my third battery cycle. Earlier I just noticed the battery percent dropped to 94 after unplugged for roughly an hour and I didn't use it at all since it was fully charged. Checking the battery report it said the screen on time was 37 mins. My concern is since we are so fixated on SOT as a true reflection of battery life, is SOT report really accurate? Can someone please confirm this?
Yes...
What is the SOT you getting with normal use?

For me the report has been accurate. Are you using the stock report in the battery section? Or a third party app? Did you see it charge up to 100%. Seems like it maybe didn't but it is suppose to reset at about the 90 mark.
Personally I don't use SoT as a accurate reflection of battery life. Someone using their screen for Netflix vs another who's playing a game will get two totally different SoTs.

The SOT is absolutely accurate ... It just mesures the exact time the screen is on haha, not a lot of error cases possible
I easily get 3-4 hours SOT before I get down to 40%. Communications always on, adaptive brightness with don't at 50%. By the end of the day I usually have about 5 hours SOT with 5 or 6 hours standby and about 45% remaining.

Battery life, how is your phone doing?

Wondering how is your battery life, I'm 5:30 hours for 54% of battery(75% - 21%)
I max charge it to 75% and usually I don't drain it less than 25% - To achieve the best battery life long term, so I won't need replacement anytime soon. Also I don't fast charge, usually 1A charging or similar(e.g. Wireless charging 7.5W)
Obviously I use underclocking to the point I don't fee any difference in daily usage
Share your thoughts, for 0-100% I bet I can do more than 7:30 SOT

Lol mate you're more like 5:30 min after 75-25 twice.
Such a bad battery life usually happens after using mokee as they change low lever instructions in the processor.
What happens is that the processor microcode is changed such that instead of power being managed by the relative motion of conductors and fluxes, it’s actually now managed by the modial interaction of adreno-reluctance and capacitive directance of the cores. You can not change that any more as it was a change on hardware level microconductions that can not be reverted.

50%(75-25% usage) of battery gives me 5:30 SOT hours and it's bad?
You troll right? this is only achieved with underclocking, at 100% you should expect more than 7:30 and maybe 8 hours! what about you?
P.S. Give me your SOT 75-25% and if it's more than 5:30 SOT I'll send you my phone for free - Bet you can't even do 6 hours SOT with full battery
just look at the screenshot you provided yourself, the battery graph clearly shows you charged your phone after you hit 25% the first time to 75% and let it run down to 21% again. battery (and sot) stats won't reset until you charge over 90%, so your reading of 5.5 hours of sot is actually 2 instances of your habitual 75-25% drain. in reality you are only getting about half that for 50% use (~2h 45min sot), which I'd say isn't too bad, but maybe you should do a full 100% to 0% use once and see how the battery fares for a more accurate reading. honestly I would say you would still get around 5.5-6 hours sot from that, and that unless you do some serious tweaking to both your phone and usage patterns you wouldn't be able to hit 7 hours sot, but I would be willing to see evidence that proves me otherwise.

Battery Charge Limit - Resets your stats but also limits the charging
I know you are clueless but talking without knowing is bad - 5.5 is for 50% battery due to high underclocking I've got
With 100% I can get over 8-10 hours - High end CPU cores are not more than 1.5Ghz, gpu at power saving but also lowest possible freq for min/max - You are talking crap but ok I won't feed you, I stop feeding trolls the moment I get they troll
sorry but you are the one talking crap, please see attached picture, which is a crop of your battery graph. i personally also use the battery charge limit app, and i know how the reset battery stats option in the app works, which will clear the battery graph as well. if you really did clear battery stats you wouldn't be able to see this upward curve.
how about this, you fully charge your phone and use it normally until you hit your claimed 8-10h sot. honestly i think i can match your sot, but without this underclocking you highly praise.
You're either braindamaged or a troll. You charged your phone and it didn't reset stats so it combined both usages. Did you pass 6th grade maths? Anyways SoT is subjective and you're just being extra petty about this

Only 10?
By doing a small mod on the battery, I get like 12 hours minimum, with 50% brightness fixed. What I did is that I replaced the main-winding of the normal Lotus-O-Deltoid type and placed it in the pan-indermic semi-boloid slots of the battery.

Removed lots of bloatware using adbFastboot tool and connected mostly on wifi. Without wifi with medium usage, I can get around 6 hours SOT within 2 days of use.
aex + canting.
I've had mine for 18 months and am still very pleased on the charge. I can typically get 12 - 14 hours fine, and that does me for most uses. I've seen it go longer when I've used it less (for example right now 20 hours without charge - 6% left, although that would include about 7 hours of sleep so no use in that time).
No modifications on my part.
