I've been using my MI 5 Plus for a couple of weeks now and everything is working except the fingerprint scanner. I saw in the MI 5 forum that this is a common problem. Several solutions were given including letting the battery run completely down but this didn't work with mine. I don't want to do a complete reset, anyone have a solution for getting the fingerprint scanner working?

I have been using my s6 from 6 months now. but this past month i have started having issues with the fingerprint scanner.
i have my right thumb registered 2 times in 2 different angles
my left thumb twice in 2 angles.
but despite of that my fingerprint shows no match. sometimes it detects my finger sometimes it doesnt.
I know my backup password and i can always log in using that. but i just want to fix this fingerprint issue. it is so irritating.
i used s5 for a year but never suffered such an issue.
and yes i have tried to re register the prints while deleting old ones, and even tried factory resetting but this issue persists.
please help me. and i do not have warranty coverage as my phone is international

I have been using this device for almost a year now. I have experienced four times now that my fingerprint sensor doesn't work. I'll just find out it is not working anymore. and then after some time it works again. what maybe the cause of this issue? It's a bit of a big deal for me. I haven't rooted my phone. I didn't study yet the fantastic effects of rooting. Maybe one of these days.

Ever since I got my Essential phone the fingerprint scanner has been absolutely horrendous. Over and over it would just tell me that the the fingerprint sensor was dirty and I should clean it and try again. It was so bad to the point that I wasn't even able to successfully enroll my fingerprints. I just gave up on the fingerprint sensor for the most part assuming that the physical hardware of my device was faulty. I liked everything else about my phone so lack of working fingerprint sensor was not enough to make me go through the hassle of trying to send back my phone for a new (refurbished) one. I resigned myself to just using the 4 digit PIN to unlock my phone.
I have done the monthly updates religiously and I always try again after each update to test the fingerprint scanner hoping that the update will fix my issues and FINALLY THAT HAPPENED!!!!
After May update the sensor enrolled my fingers super quickly with no error warnings and now unlocking with fingerprint is instantaneous and super snappy!! :victory::victory::victory:
If anyone has fingerprint issues with their phone I strongly advise you to check out the May security update and post here if it fixes your problems as well.

I have a One Plus 7 Pro 5G Europe version running Android 10.
I find that the fingerprint sensor works intermittently.
So for example I have factory reset the phone and also have tried to flash the phone back to original settings. I most recently flashed the phone to a clean A10 about 2 weeks ago
After reset/flash the fingerprint sensor works very well and is quick to respond however after a short time maybe a week or so it doesnt work well, sometimes im pressing 3 or 4 times and it will say too many attempts.
As a test I just added a new fingerprint to see if this would help and Im having the same issues with it working intermittently.
I have to revert to using the pattern which defeats the point of the sensor

anybody got this problem? Fingerprint scanner in my xperia 5 III started asking me to clean it so many times and then just stopped working. I think somethings is wrong because when i am touthing it is buzzing but do not recodnising my fingerprint. Tryed to reset phone but still the same resolts. Sometimes its working but most of the time is not.

someone just reset his fingerprints and this helped but i also red poeple faced same problems like u.
sad to say but souds like a hardware problem at your phone maybe.

12 and i am pretty sure its a hardwere cos i have don already evrything i could to fix it, and i am sending it back to tech support
One other thread had a suggestion of recording one fingerprint twice.
My fingerprint scanner stopped working at all recently... I think it worked worse after android 13 upgrade, but honestly I believe that it's a hardware problem... Is there a chance Sony will move to scanners like in Samsung and iPhone, that appears on the phone screen?
