Looking for a ad blocking app - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions & Answers

I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S8 snapdragon and was wondering if there's a good ad blocking app that I could use. I use to use adaway on S7 but without root my options are limited and adblock plus doesn't work for me.

I use Adguard. $25 for a lifetime license. https://adguard.com/en/adguard-android/overview.html

Disconnect Pro in the Galaxy Store works great.

thanks for the suggestions if I get the money I look into them. I hoping to find a less costly solution.

Adhell from the play store.

Best possible one is disconnect for samsung Knox. I have it. System wide ad block with no ads and no root get it from Galaxy store but it's $25

Google Fit on Galaxy S5?

I recently bought a Galaxy Gear Live and was excited to use it with S health on my Galaxy S5. Turns out, though samsung claimed they would update their software to be compatible with their watch, it still isnt. Not a problem, though. I thought i would still use the google fit app, as its an android wear device. Turns out my phone isnt even compatible with the google app?? Im not sure what to do as both company apps are not supported. Any ideas?

Just because it says it's incompatible doesn't mean it won't still work on your device. You could download the apk and attempt to install, worse case scenario is it won't work

Tried that now, it seems to glitch my phone and freezes it. Also, i just found out other S5's ARE compatible.

That's very odd. Normally Sprint phones are pretty flexible with most apps. Is your S5 on kk or LP?

Has anyone found a decent remote control app for the edge?
My G3 had a native app built in and it worked flawlessly. I could simply program it by pointing the original remote etc.
I have yet to find an app for the Edge that has the same functionalities. Does anyone have a solution?

My Note Edge has a native app called Smart Remote that comes pre-installed and works great. Even have my ac programmed! You mean other variants don't have this? That's pretty dumb on Samsung's behalf.

I have a Verizon note edge and it also came with Smart Remote. Check to see if maybe you disabled it? The app is pretty awesome

SamsungPay

Does anyone know if their is anyway to have root and use SamsungPay? I know it checks for the Efuse but could the app be tricked into thinking it was secure and allow it to work.

I'm on the Nougat S7E beta and both S2 + S3 Frontier work fine...tho having a Samsung phone might help
Probably down to the rom or Gear Manager needs updating
Huawei mate 9 with Android 7 and S3 frontier working great!

I have a nexus 6, rooted on cm14 (android 7.1). Watch works for the most part (no messenging app for some reason), and can confirm Samsung pay does work. Only tested Samsung pay at one location, and I will say that it did fail multiple times before I found the "sweet spot" and it went through.
Same problem here, force close with gear manager from play store... Any solutions ?
I run a stock LG G5 non-rooted with no issues with any apps or watch functions. The issuesnis more than likely root and/or a non-stock rom being installed. I suggest flashing backk to non-rooted stock and that will probably resolve both issues.

AT&T S7 on Nougat leak and everything is fine with my S3 Frontier.

Do you have calls and text message working?
I can't call from the watch neither reply to a message from the watch since I have my mate 9.
Worked fine with a S6

I sold mate 9 so I can't check anymore
I have a Oneplus 3 on android 7.0 oxygen OS unrooted paired to gear s3 frontier, been using this set-up as previously trying cyanogenmod 14 rooted (resurrection remix) found one annoying issue.
The phone dialler just freezes as soon as you dial someone. This works perfectly fine on stock rom.
I'm not sure but will try rooting oxygen os and see if this happens, to determine if rooting causes issue. Also using third party apps for texting seems to have better compatibility.
Will try this theory on phone dialler to see if it works. I hate the fact it wont dial phone numbers presaved with #* or 2 second pause.
Also noticed I don't see anything on gear manager for Samsung pay set up.
I had a gear s2 previously and worked prefectly on stock or custom rooted roms.
Still with its faults I love it. samsung as always has to mess up with small but simple things ;(
Gear App on Galaxy S6 Active with Nougat beta 3 not connecting to Gear S3 (neither did beta 1 or beta 2).

Xebec, I am having the exact same issue on my Galaxy S6 Active with nougat beta3 not connecting to Gear S3.
Worked perfectly when I was on 6.0.1!
Do you know of a thread where this is being discussed, or an available workaround?
Much Thanks

I have not found any workaround. I did actually contact Samsung and they were surprised that it didn't work, though they had no solution.
With Nougat official OTA I'm having no problems.

My location doesn't show Galaxy labs apk but I was able to find in apkmirror. However it says this content isn't available on this phone anymore (??).
Just dl'd it and giving it a shot.

Yes, but doesn't notice anything as well before than after using it.
Probably better not to use it. Don't think it does much except put more wear and tear on the flash memory.
I use Battery Tracker a lot though.
Best way to speed up* these phones is a clean reload; takes a time or two to nail down what apps you want etc.
Uninstalls never helped any OS, lol.
*Turn off animations and package block the junk especially cloud backup crap if you don't need it. Take the time to optimize your unique set up; it is time consuming and only you can do it.
