Anyone have any ideas of what cases are available now-a-days for the touchpad? I have the original HP Custom Fit case but its deforming... I liked the case a lot too . I would like something slim and not bulky. Thanks

I've found that a lot of 1st gen iPad cases will work, as the are almost the exact same size. I currently have mine in a portfolio-style Belkin.

oh good it's not just me. I thought it was because I was putting it in my mini backpack and all the stress the mini backpack was putting on it.
Shame too because I really really love this case I hope more devices get cases like this. maybe the new ones add in some metal wire or something so it doesn't stretch.
mine is mainly warping along the power port, volume keys and microphone port.

Mine did very quickly. I think its heat related as I have used several hours a day since I bought it.

I have had the same problem. Has anyone had any luck getting the case un-deformed? Maybe somehow getting it to shrink using heat or another process? I really like the skin case, and can live with it the way it is, but would prefer not to have large gaps by the power and volume, and a hump by the usb port...

Yeah as did mine. I treated it with care too. I don't think it matters how you treat it, the area around the power button is going to go wonky
the official custom hp case is the best one for the pad. though mine not only got deformed, it got REALLY smooth too, compared to my sisters new one
I finally got sick of the deformed case. But I wanted a slim case with flip cover, and all the ones I found bulked it up more than I cared for. So, I made my own out of two cases. I bought the Poetic TPU case off eBay for $6. Then I used a razor blade to remove the flip cover from my deformed OEM case. After failing with Gorilla glue, I found that good old super glue does an excellent job of bonding the cover material to TPU without deforming it. Looks a little rough, think I'll make another. Next time though, I'll bond the cover at top, making it easier to open or close on the touchstone charger.

I have done a little surgery to my original HP case. I cut off the parts that were warping. And actually, it worked out well. But after doing that, I bought a carbon fiber skin and a Touchstone charger and only use the case when I take it out of the house. It feels nice without a case.
The only case I've been able to get to play nice with my touchstone sadly is the stock hp touchpad case.

Cheap option since I don't think the official magic cover case is worth $39.
I ordered one like that one. The brand was Fintie. It's a cool case but it's too tight on the tablet and can cause damage if you take it out. I read reviews on similar cases with people saying it caused or made light bleed worse. Idk if it's certain brands or just the case style.

No issues here, I didn't know cases could cause light bleed. Nothing wrong with the back either, nice soft feeling...

I suspect this one is making light bleed an issue; it is TIGHT and a bear to remove. Nicely padded and works fine but is so tight that removal is way too physical.
Op's looked pretty nice. I mean, I don't really care for the color of blue, but other than that, it looks pretty good.

Wondering about picking up one of those myself and seeing if I can cut the cover off and turn it into more an Apple Smart Cover (as opposed to the crappy HTC/Google one).
If you cut the front cover off, add some magnets and slightly reinforce it, it may work out well.

I just bit the bullet and order the red one. I'm going to see about cutting off the front cover and turning into a legit smart cover. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

I just received one as a gift and it is really nice. The stand actually works in portrait. All the ports and buttons are very accessible. A bit pricey, but I would buy one knowing what I know now. I'm sure it's not bulletproof, but it seems sturdy enough to me.

It's good and very easy to apply. The problem is that it's terrible concerning the fingerprints, it gets dirty really quickly.
Moreover, it's not as clear as I'd like it to be, the difference with the naked screen is obvious. Anyway, I prefer a slightly dark screen over a broken one.

Actually samsung did it with Note9, found it by luck in one of our local online stores here in Dubai. I don't think its available on Amazon anywhere (US, UK & CANADA) YETTTT...

I had this hard case for my Note 8 and even though it doesn’t seem to offer that much protection it provides a perfect grip and make the withd of the phone ideal to not slip at all from the hand.

What comes with the phone is a tpu cover, this one is hard plastic with a very thin profile and the best grip..
My note 8 came with the hard plastic case like that which you described.

I've bought it today. It looks very nice and slim. Of course it fits like glove. It has a grippy feeling which is good for me. And it is soft not a hard case. I'm glad I've bought it Hope it does not turn to yellow soon.

Looks like they tinted it slightly blue/gray which should reduce the yellowing effect.

Real nice fit, ultra slim profile & no rainbow effect.
FWIW, it does not have the raised corners (or any raised edges) like the PC OEM Case for the Note 8.
Protection is as minimal as it gets, top & bottom are fully exposed, oversized cutouts for the buttons.
IMHO, perfect......

Most likely im aiming for a well made slim case wich can protect my phone but aswell dont heat up my device to much.

I had the deer one, but for a different phone. Felt bad when I had my hand on it though, so I returned it.
I have another case with fabric back, which feels very nice but also makes phone heavier. So I'm using stock phone most time, putting on the thicker one when I expect a rougher day.

Does it really keeps the phone cooler those cases with fabric back or is it just some marketing thing ? For me personally it doesnt sound very logic but for sure tpu, plastic ... cases need to be worse.
Personally i wouldnt use a case at all but im dropping it so often in a single year oO, just yesterday somehow in the dark my phone slide from the bed to the ground.
How does the stock case is better then other plastic cases ? Is it thiner or metallic material ? (i still dont have the phone )

Fabric ones have fabric over rubber case which feel nice to hold because of fabric. I don't think they're gonna make thermals any better. Theoratically a metal case should be better at managing the heat.
My phone never gets too hot that I'd care of heat management though. Some video editing is the most heat generating task I do. So maybe gamers would know better.
Stock one is nice because it's minimal, thinnest, and looks decent, lol.

Use the stock one which is present in box it keeps phone cooler as per my experience. Let me know if you find any links to purchase with different colours for the same
I guess an aluminum metal bumper frame would do the job. It doesn't have a back, it's only a frame.

Funnily enough I've reverted back to the stock case, I've got a see through spigen one and prefer the stock even though the spigen does provide better protection, plus after a while it discolours
