Could you possibly give a link to this if you still know where it was? I can't find it no matter how hard I try to look through that forum.

Everything works great except the 3G. Works ONLY in Facebook Messenger and Viber.
Installed it as any other ROM, with TWRP and a SD card or you can use SP Flash Tool. Same process as any other rom installation
Hope this help a little bit :fingers-crossed:
Here is a post how to install install TWRP

Having some trouble finding a ROM

I am still on the stock 5.0 ROM and was looking to change it up. I have not been on Android since the original EVO 4G so I am a bit lost. I already have root and TWRP recovery on. I am looking for an optimized ROM that is close to stock. I have looked at LiquidSmooth but it looks like that is only 4.4 and I saw xtrasmooth but could not find the download link. Could someone provide a link to good stable ROM that is easy to flash? Also should gapps be flashed immediately after flashing the rom? Thanks in advance.

Every ROM is easy to flash. Just look in the Development or Original Development section, there's plenty to choose from. Also, the first posts usually state whether you need to flash Gapps or not.

I know how to flash, but I am just not sure which ROM to use. So many of them have a bunch of different acronyms in the title that I have absolutely no idea what they mean. Also some of them require you to also flash a kernel or a radio which would complicate things a bit further. Just looking for something that contains everything I need. Also for gapps, my question was if I should be flashing it immediately after flashing the ROM while still in recovery or if I should reboot first then go back into recovery?

Kernel or radio shouldn't be needed anywhere, maybe just in case of F2FS. There are many great ROMs to choose from, just pick one and try it out. Just be sure to read the OP. Also, you won't be able to boot into the system properly if Gapps are missing. Some ROMs have them included, others don't.

Thanks for your help. I have been looking at this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...v3-0-hammerhead-t2616300/page713#post58172446
In the title it states 4.4.4/5.0.2. What is meant by that? Which one is it? Is it as simple as booting into recovery, wiping all, flashing the ROM, flash gapps, and rebooting?

It's best if you read descriptions of roms at their thread. Also is good to read some feedback and reports by people who allready flash it. But the best way to figure it out, which rom is best for you, is to flash it by yourself.

I do read the descriptions, but there are some things that I don't understand being new. A lot of those threads already assume that you should know what these things mean. I couldn't figure out the liquidsmooth rom since it looks like they stopped development in December and the only gapps I found is for a different version. So I got kind of confused as to what I needed.

Understand that. But if you ask something like you, you will get a lot a different answers which can just confused you a little more. Also, you will get the answers by people who do not have same taste/expectations like you. So, best way is to figure it out by yourself.

I would suggest Cyanogenmod. Its very easy to install and very customizable, its close to stock as you wanted, there are stable versions and nightlies(can be unstable/bring small updates/improvements), cyanogenmod version 11 is based on kitkat, however cyanogenmod 12 stable version is in the works and it is based on lollipop, but there are nightlies out now.

Why do you want to root your phone, if you want to change your rom?
You just need a Custom Recovery (e.g. TWRP) in which you can flash your favorite ROM.
Here is a beginners guide, which i found in this section:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guides-bacon-timmaaas-how-to-guides-t2839471
Step 2 & 5 are, what you are intrested about.
Just read carefully and follow the instructions and there will be no problems.
Good Luck

This is exciting news, I can't wait and definitely am willing to test it for you.
Need Help
I have compiled LinageOS 14.1 for this device. However, it will NOT boot. I believe that all we need to do is fix the boot image file. I am having an extremely difficult time porting the boot image file. I was wondering if anyone here can maybe port it for me. I have tried replacing the LinageOS boot.img with the stock boot.img and I get nothing but an infinite boot loop. I have also tried a lot of other things to port the boot.img but I cannot remember everything I have tried. I will provide the links to my LinageOS compile and the boot image files in this post.
Download Link
Remember DO NOT try anything without a working backup of everything first.
Maybe I could take a crack at it today if I have some free time after painting and I hook up the trusty Dell precision. I'm more comfortable with systems that run already but I'm willing to do some research if there's even a chance I could help. Thanks again for what you've compiled so far!

Lineage OS
I am very interested in the development, also if this person has working META-INF that will help me out too, so I can help someone release a rom and they can help me, as I said before this is all very new to me.
I'd love some help getting started on making any ROM, even if it's Slim AF to start with (since you already figured out how to do that), then I'd try something else. I have Ubuntu already installed, but need some basic help, like what repo to download and what files to modify. If you can help with that, I'd really appreciate it as we may have more ROMs to choose from .

Nice work. Will this be based off the latest security updates B150 (think stock came with B130 firmware) and root?
Love this as a starting point. Did you free up any of the internal storage that is dedicated to the system? As we know there is only 8GB free of the 16G. Does SLIM ROM change things in this regard? Just curious.
yes
I have managed to free up a little over 2gb of space, I am still looking for other bs that is taking up so much space, i'm thinking its another partition, so give me a while to figure out what i can safely remove to get us more space. I also work 2 jobs lol i dont have a ton of free time but this phone is my daily driver and i am very determined to get something to work for it!

Hate to be that guy but I'm just so excited to try a new ROM on this phone! Has anyone made any milestones on lineage or RR or anything else? I understand nothing's quite ready and that's why nobody's said anything but I'm itching for good news lol.

I will release Resurrection Remix soon, I just want to work out some critical bugs before I do. It's pretty stable as of now, I am posting from it. As of now, Wi-Fi, the camera, and the phone's internal loudspeaker don't work, I think Wi-Fi is going to require me to compile a custom kernel but that won't be too difficult. After I get those things to work, I will compile a flashable zip and release.

Thank you so much for your hard work on this ROM and device. I'm sure I can safely speak for all of us about how exciting this is. If at any point you need someone to test a particular version I'm very confident in making a backup of where I am now and diving in to submit feedback for kernel changes or anything else you need more than one phone to try on.

i dont guess any of these ROMs ever saw the light of day? lol been a long time since posts it appears, and there aren't many ROMs to find for the h1611 it seems. Nexus XT looks promising, but i cant download it because every link is a 7 hour download that fails a few hours in. satisfied enough i guess with stock rooted, but i want more, might have to keep this phone for a while until i can get a higher end one.
ive got some emui based roms like the nexus one is a emui based one im in the works of making a more vanilla like experience rom to try improve performance etc. and working on building a device tree for the xt its a work in progress for that. but the other rom wont be the swift n fast slim it will be called something else ill post it soon as its almost done

Galaxy tab4 sm t230 updated firmware

Hi guys
I'm looking to update the firmware on this old tablet as it's a bit out of date and a bit sluggish it's been a long time since I've rooted or flashed anything android. I own a Linux satellite receiver and have flashed firmware images bootloader etc so hoping this will help me. I'm basically looking for a guide from start to finish to bring this tablet a bit more up to date, hope somebody can point me in the right direction.
Thanks.

What to download is in the thread (rom, gapps and twrp), and you can find instructions all over the internet. I've wrote something in my thread of lineage 16 and twrp on how to install them (lineage 16 has the same instructions as the other ROMs I've linked you) too. What I advice you is to understand well what you have to do before doing everything. Otherwise, it can happen that you'll come back and say: "device doesn't boot anymore, what to do now?"
Yes I'm trying to gather as much information as I can so as to avoid any problems when I actually try to do the flash process. I will read up some more.
Thanks again

Hi, I will ask maybe stupid question, since knowledge is 0 in terms of android, but is there a possibility to upload some ROM with android 9.0 to T230? (I even do not know if I haven't made mistake in question )
Anyway I need 9.0 for app and already rooted device following step by step instruction.
Thx in advance
