Not much of a report
Did you drop the phone or abuse it in some fashion?
Or is this a manufacturing defect?

No any mistake from user. No drop no water.
It's a manufacturing defect.
I use it as my sweet baby.
Very very take care every minute.
But now it come back to me. Happy again.

Sad to see you had to replace phone's parts. Honestly this happens with every device, not sure if everyone with such a problem creates a thread for all to see his issue.. I really hope mine will be fine, I also take care of it.

Micro oxidation scratches

I've got some scratches on the back of my One S. Its a replacement I got from HTC last week and just two days later I managed to get two scratches on them without doing anything . I've looked at this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1589364 but the only solution there is to replacement the back cover, which I'm not too keen on doing as its risky. Is there any kind of polish I can use to get rid of these scratches. Also I'm not sure but it seems the actual housing is flawed because my original handset never managed to get any scratches whatsoever but this one seems to scratch way too easily. Maybe this replacement is from the earlier handsets.
It does appear that they've given you an awful handset. I've had mine for a year, never used a case and I have one little chip around the charger port, and that is it. I'm not sure if HTC will do anything, but it's best to get in contact first.

I've found in previous experiences with the HTC support team that you have to be very, very forceful with them. If I was in your situation, the right thing to respond would be to turn the blame on them for not electrocuting it properly. Just remember that the customer is always right, they normall let up after a good fifteen to twenty minutes.

Thanks mate I'll try that but I doubt I'll be given a replacement since I've gone through 7 repairs and 3 replacement handsets. HTC customer service really does suck!
Somebody's had a tonne and a half of bad luck. I've had this one a year, and the only thing that has ever broken on it was the SD card (and that was my fault, and I repaired that myself anywhore). I suppose you'll just have to get a case and get on with it to be honest.

Yeah well all the problems started when tried doing a supercid on my phone which failed. I then sent it in for repair and ever since then its been a nightmare

That's becoming an unhealthy habit of mine, I almost wrote that in my English exam in January...
Those don't look like MAO chips. I think it's just dust/powder that's stuck to the MAO. Have you tried wiping it with a soft damp cloth?

That sucks. From my experience your only solution is to buy a replacement housing and swap it. I can understand your reluctance though, as the phone is so new. You'll learn to live with it in time, I'm sure.

This is only the minor issue. Ever since I got my original handset replaced by HTC it seems to show these large block pixels which are most visible when I'm watching videos on Youtube. Don't know whether anyone else has had this problem.

[Q] Possible manufacturing defect?

When its completely dark, and the notification button lights are on, I can see light coming out of the bottom bezel (this is the part where the bezel meets the plastic part, between the home and back buttons). Does anyone else see the same problem? Should I ask for a replacement?

It does sound like a defect. Flipkart anyways has a return policy, right? I think you can return it and get a new one if that's permitted.

I know its a defect but I can live with it
Yes it looks to be a manufacturing defect.
You can probably talk to the customer care guys in your area to get a solution on this.
Or just ignore this as other users do.
I have placed a replacement order and flipkart customer care called me and informed me that the courier agent will come and pick up the phone in 3 days. Once they take the phone to the service center and if the phone is 'eligible' to be replaced, they will send a new phone within 15 days. I am just curious if this is worth the effort as i have read in some other forums that someone else got yet another defective piece as replacement.. What do you guys think?

Did you talk to the customer care people for replacement or flipkart?
Im one of the lucky customers who got to try 3 Mi 4i devices! lol.. First 2 devices had the same defect and as a last bet, i went with another replacement instead of refund. Luckily, Im now holding the third device which is defect free
Edit:
For me, replacement was no hassle. Initiated replacement in Flipkart, Rep called me to confirm and next day, they delivered a new device and took the defective device. When I placed replacement req for already replaced device, Rep told that they wont provide replacement second time and instead he was ready to process refund. But I insisted on getting replacement for which he accepted and sent the replacement the very next day. I guess the city where you live in matters.. and I live in Bangalore.
I also got a replacement, but the new phone also has the issue. But its less prominent and I have to stare hard at the phone to see the gap. Anyway, I just decided to live with it and turned off the button notification so that's not a bother any more....

Does anybody have this default on screen ???

Hello,
I saw this few minutes ago, and haven't seen it during all the week end though i was playing with my S8+...
What do you think about it ?
Thanks for your comments and/or advice...
Is that a sort of software thing, or a defect with your screen ?

I agree. I've been seeing over on xda and reddit people with dead pixels, half black screens, laggy scrolls and the famous red tinted screens as well. Unfortunately i have the red tint issue and I'm getting a replacement on the 28th. Setting up is a headache... i wasn't expecting these much screen problems at all.
Yea screen is bad. Probably glue down with to much pressure right there. Exchange it under the 14day return

Light Bleed on Front Camera on Galaxy S8

Hey Guys I just got a brand new Samsung Galaxy S8 Orchid Grey.
It has only been a day and I love the phone but I was so disappointed to see that the phone suffers from light leak.
There is light bleeding from the bezel between the front camera as shown in this picture.
Is this normal and accepted? I saw some phones at a demo shop and the black ones didnt have this while the others did.
Do you guys have the same and if so does it affect water resistance?
Shall I keep it or exchange it and get a new one I got to pay 200$ for it.
Have attached pictures of my phone along with a reference picture of better quality.
please do let me know what you think
i had ordered my phone off amazon and noticed the light bleed. searched around and it didn't really find a clear answer to say if its a defect or just something that the phone has. i sent it back to amazon, thinking it was bad, and picked one up from best buy, they were the same price, so no big deal. opened up the new one and was met with disappointment, it looks like its a typical thing for the phones. guess its up to you if you want to just go with it or try again with another one. i did take the one from amazon to a shop to see whats up, they suggested to just return it. if they were to try and fix the gap, the water proofing would have failed. best of luck with it, seems like a good phone so far

Hey thanks for the reply.
So the one you got from best buy does it have the same problem?
Does light reflect and if so where?
This is what samsung chat told me
yes, the best buy model has the same problem in the same area. the light shows at the front facing camera and the iris scanner. i talked to a rep myself and he had suggested that i take it to a repair center.
*the person you talked to could be right, maybe it is just the lens or something.
Go for replacement. Practice the warranty thingy.

I dont have warranty since I purchased it out of the country. The only option i have is that i spoke to a shop seller who is ready to exchanged it for a new phone with warranty and i have to pay 200$. So i am wondering if the new phone i get also has the same issue.

Unfortunately, I don't know if it is normal or not. I'm hoping it is normal, I'm keeping the one I bought from Best buy. I guess in your case it may be worth it to get the exchange, since you'll get a warranty with it. Best of luck with everything!

well true i will get a warranty with it but i am also paying 200$ bucks for it and if it is the same thing then I would be very very disappointed.
Do you know anyone else who has a S8 or Note 8 and suffers from the same?
Also where does the light bleed occur on your phone exactly?

No, I don't know anyone with the same phone. The light comes directly above the front facing camera and the Iris scanner.
I do not have this issue here, so I would say its a manufacturing defect, and they are aware about it, and they actually try to make it look like its normal.

You must having it increase your brightness to max and keep a white background/wallpaper and then check.
I just went to a Samsung Service Center and first he told me that it was normal and not an issue then i insisted on showing me another phone so he showed me a device whose repairs he had just concluded with a brand new screen and that phone had the same issue! not an issue its just reflection apparently.

Need urgent HELP plz.

Hi all...
Could you check one thing for me pls?
Put your OP6 on a hard surface like a study table(mine is made of wood) and charge it. Take off any case etc. Also without any shoes or slippers etc.
Then run your fingers along the sides i.e. along the metal frame while it's charging.
Do you feel like a hint of current/electricity on your fingers?
I feel like the minutest of minute vibration while running my fingers.
But only when it's on a hard surface.
When I hold it in my hands, I don't feel anything.
Please kindly do this test and tell me.
Thank you.

That happens with MacBook too! I mean thats electrical discharge / leakage. Thats pretty normal. You might get a minor shock if you lick the metallic contacts or if the same comes in contact with your sensitive areas like elbow, belly and below that

Same happens on my OP3, but it stopped after few months randomly. I think you shouldn't get the replacament unit, or at least i didn't because i don't live in a country that oneplus is officially selling devices, if you do and it's not much pida, go ahead, but you might get the same resultl lol
