3 weeks left for my S7 Edge - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Guides, News, & Dis

I just pre-ordered the S8. I really like my S7 Edge except for the annoying issue of the over sensitive screen. I'm constantly opening apps accidently by barely touching the screen. I would have kept it longer if I didn't have that issue. I was hoping to get the Blue model but apparently Verizon doesn't have it in Blue so I got the Gray. The 64gb internal memory will be beneficial too. That is more than enough for me.

First impressions on Galaxy S6 Edge - Sound Off

I got mine yesterday 4/8/15 - Im on Sprint and when I turned it on and did self activation I got a black screen... Eventually had to factory reset and go to sprint and get them to re activate it. Also Ive noticed it has been prettty laggy stuttering here and there. Google Keyboard doesn't fix it. Its not thaaat laggy but its enough to notice. My Sprint GS6 edge Black 64gb DID INFACT come with the hair line scratches people are reporting. battery life has been decently good.
Battery:
Full Day 1 GS6 Edge: April 9th 2015
Screen On time: 3hrs 50 min
7AM-1:04PM
Usage - Everything, auto brightness... All edge features on. half mobile data half wifi, NO BATTERY SAVER
Ive been getting about 8 or 9 hours on heavy usage mostly wifi though. black 32gb no scratches or other issues. No lag. Feels and looks great. Sound isnt as bad as people say. But i came from an s4. I do notice it seems warm when charging with the screen off lol. But maybe thats just the fast charger at work. The usb is snug though going in and kind of worries ya as yo how itll hold up. Data was way snappier and received lte in areas i previously couldn't.
Got mine on the 8th as well. No issues with lag, but my phone does have the small cosmetic scratches in the screen. Any idea if Sprint would do an exchange because of it? Battery has been just ok so far. Wasn't able to make it through the day on light usage without having to throw it on the charger before the end of night. Barely had 2 hours of screen time. Fingerprint scanner works like 75% of the time. Anyone have any tips on how to get the scanner to work more accurately? The phone is absolutely beautiful though.
Sprint shud allow replacements

I went in the Sprint store and they were shocked that I had the phone. First they told me they couldn't do anything because I wasn't supposed to have it... Then after they realized Pre Orders shipped early they just told me to call customer service to request a replacement.
Thats messed up because Sprint customer service told me to go into a store. After all I've been through with them lately i have come to the conclusion that they have absolutely no idea what's going on most of the time.

I use my right thumb and use the center of it with the top of the thumb to the left and bottom on the right. Like \ kind of ha. 99% of the time works. Only thing bugs me after using it is coming from the s4 lack of the menu button :/
Picked it up on launch day
Got the device (white, 64gig) around noon today (eastern), haven't been able to put it down. Screen is amazing, apps download and install from the Google Store in record time (coming from an N5) via wifi or Sprint Spark, speaking of Spark...I am getting coverage in more areas than I was before. Camera is by far the best experience I have had with Android and I am an original G1 owner, wow...we have come so far. Point and shoot is by far a much more fluid and pleasant experience. almost 9 gigs are taken up by system memory. Battery life and speed of charging has been a good experience thus far. Did i mention the screen? :good:
Got my white 32 gb edge yesterday from Best Buy. It looks great and no scratches seen
I did the update and everything seems to be working fine. The battery is great so far but I did notice some lag when something is downloading in the background a bit but nothing too bad. The brightness is being a bit annoying. The softkeys are too bright at night unless battery saver is turned on. The manual brightness is too bright and auto is too dim. Coming from the adaptive brightness from stock lolipop, its a bit disappointing. I love this phone however. The curved screen is fantastic, especially with gallery pictures. Also its ridiculously sharp. Battery is great so far and fast charging is great.
Called customer service...
I called in and they told me to take it to a repair center... They seem very uneducated on the issue. All they have to do is search it up, its very common now and annoying.

Screen Brightness Issue
Also, I compared my screen with two other peoples screens on max brightness and mine is a little less bright then theirs and is more on the warmer side... Disappointing...

Mine takes up 6.7 something on system memeory. Anyone else? Just curious. On a 32gb black
I love my S6 Edge. Wish I could have gotten it in green though and with the news of demand outpacing supply and curved glass production problems I don't ever believe I will ever be able to get it into emergald green. There is already a shortage of the Edge devices which I why I am glad I pre-ordered.
The only other thing is Sprints network. My nexus 6 is on Cricket and I wish I would have ordered it on AT&T and kept my Note 4 on Sprint, or moved my Nexus 6 to Sprint. Hopefully they will roll Spark out here soon and that will address the capacity issues that seem to plague Louisiana.
It's an amazing phone. I love it.
The S6E is my first metal & glass phone and I'm loving it so far. The phone looks great in Gold Platinum and it's really classy & sleek looking.
The performance is great, operation smooth, great feel in hand & easy to use one-handed, and the camera is fabulous.
I'm not bothered by a lack of microSD & removable battery as I thought I would be (probably the Nexus 5 got me used to that).
This is definitely the best phone in the world for me right now.

Eh....
It is up to you. Given how many Edges are floating around with scratched screens it really is a gamble. I have not really heard of any issues with the S6 but there are reports on all carriers of scratched S6E devices. And like any other carrier, Sprint isn't going to keep opening boxes for you, even if they do have them in stock. You could get one where the screen has the scratches on the screen, or in/under the screen. I guess you have to decide if you really could live with that if you do get a defective unit. Some people say they can live with it. Others cannot.

i could probably live with that. my main concern is even with a case and i drop the edge, the curved part of the glass is exposed to potentially get more damage. does it feel like ur gonna drop it at all when u use it?
Not a very good first impression for me since screen rotation was broken out of the box and Samsung support has no clue about whether it's going to be a software fix or not.
I'm very happy with my edge. I would never chage it with a normal one. It is much more beautiful. This is my opinion. And my screen is not scratch and i have very good batery life: 24h batery with 5h SOT or 48h with 2h 30 min SOT.

Screen Burn-in

Anyone else notice what seems like to be a screen burn in on their Galaxy S6 (non-edge). I was outside today in direct sunlight for the first time and I pulled up google chrome (white background) and I noticed dark gray lines as depicted by the red lines in the pictures. Just curious if anyone else has this?

I have found exactly the same issue on mine. But it's only noticeable in direct sunlight it seems. At present it isn't a deal breaker for me but it's certainly a bit odd. Surely it's a little early for screen burn in?

+1.
It's not screen burn in. It's the metal chassis behind the screen which you are seeing., which is only visible in direct sunlight.
Ok but is that normal?I have the same issue and at the store i notice the same issue on one new-out of the box device.Should we replace our device or this is normal?
I started a thread to this issue yesterday. Because I didnt saw this one.
Just replaced my phone because some issues with the display, flash led and this problem.
Think my replacement will have it, too.
For now I cannot anwer me the question if it is suitable to accept this for a phone in this price segment. The summer is coming and the issue will be there on a lot of days.

I think i will not settle for a phone at this price range and this stupid issue and i think that nobody should. I will just pick up Note 4 with Exynos if this issue is not resolved with the 3rd s6 device.
Me too.
On a teardown from ifixit you can exactly see the unit that creates these frame.
Thank you very much! I also experienced this on my Galaxy s6. I ordered a replacement and also noticed it.
Just to let you now guys.I tested 4 new s6 devices and all of them had this issue!!!This is a big thing and nobody is making the real fuzz abou it.So i picked up Note 4 with Exynos.Do not buy s6, wait for month of two just so they can resolve this.
I think it is a design problem and there will be no fix for it.
If that is the case, then ppl should make a big deal about it.I don not have this phone anymore but I would like to help if this issue continues.I will contact samsung via facebook and see what we can do.
I got my replacement yesterday and yes, the problem still exists. The phone is from Vietnam, 04/15/15.
The story goes on. After Amazon Germany stopped selling the black 64 GB edition I replaced my one against the white 64 GB. This one shows the frame on any background. Not only white. Only on very dark ones there is no see.
And I can see it under normal light conditions. Not only sunlight.
A very very very bad Display.
Why is it just this quiet about the issue? It's not less ugly like the flash LED or the wiggling home button issue.
My S6 (Germany; Mediamarkt) doesn't seem to have a a burn-in.
http://www.directupload.net/file/d/3982/wj6uc78e_jpg.htm
Try this in direct sunlight please with max brightness.
It is not a real burn in. It is a frame of a used component that Lays direct under the display.
Real screen burnin
We were at the Verizon store today and noticed that all the Edge phones had real screen burn in. One had the Verizon logo burnt into the screen that you could see clearly from within any app with a white background. We used chrome and a normal web page to show the employees of the store. The galaxy s6 egde had some sort of Verizon demo bar burnt into it. It seems to be a problem with the screens. I googled for it and found this thread. I am surprised this hasn't become a serious problem for Samsung yet.

Had a very bad screen burn in my S5 - i could actually see the title of the email app i have to use for work on a white screen without sunlight (title of the app is ALWAYS at the top when working in the app). Now had the S6 since it has been out and starting to see the same issue. Spoke with Samsung about this and they stated that the S4, S5, S6 and all Note devices are capable of getting screen burns with High Contrast imaging or lines. They said they could replace my screen but i would be without a device for nearly a month, and the carrier will not complete a warranty because the device still functions perfectly.
THANKS SAMSUNG!

How many people have experienced screen burn in on their S6 yet?

Hi all, let's get straight to the point. I'm about to buy a new phone, probably the s6, but I'm concerned about one thing: how many of you have experienced screen burn in? I know it's a common thing with amoled displays. I'm not talking about the design flaw because of which you can see a sort of rectangular outline (only visible with full brightness outside and with a white screen) on the display (I'm not entire sure of this, I've read some reports about it though and I don't think it would bother me), but I'm talking about impressed/ghost images like status bar/text/icons/etc. that appear even if you change image on the screen. Hope I was clear enough, english isn't my native tongue. Thanks for the help!
i had an s2 - no burn in, s4 - no burn in, s6 - no burn in so far
so i think unless you keep the screen on for hours every single day on max brightness on the same image, it is very unlikely to get burn in.
Been having Samsung devices since s3 never got one and I got all note and s series

Bought at AT&T, may 6 2015, my Galaxy S6. Not burn in. I have no problems with my phone so far.

Ive had the S1, S2, S3, S3 LTE, S4, S5 and now the S6.
I have never had burn in on any of these phones. The S4 I used daily for 2 years and still no burn in.
If you use the device normally and don't leave one thing on the display for hours on a high brightness then burn in is not a problem.
2 month old S6 here, half brightness with auto mode. Mark left by status bar and also dirty screen effect. Looking at a grey screen I see marks that could quite possibly be burn from the keyboard too.
After 3 months, no burnin. However there's a noticeable difference between the status bar and the rest of the screen. The screen has yellowed slightly

T-Mobile S7 Edge Manufacturer Physical Defects/Aberrant Quality Thread

List any and all obvious or apparent physical defects that your phone may have or develop. Please list the date of build/construction, and manufacturing location if possible. Hopefully there won't be any to talk about on a large scale! But we all know quality control can be hit or miss in industry mass production these days.
No physical issues, my screen color shifts pretty bad - normally white, it will give a pink or blue hue on occasion. It's very noticeable. Also, my wifi doesn't work 75% of the time. Really frustrating.

Maybe it shifts because of adaptive display settings. Maybe try the standard setting that doesn't shift in colors

In store purchase today at t-mobile. 1 gold in good shape, 1 silver with stuck pixel.
Pre ordered, received on March 2nd, not a damn thing wrong.
Just got my silver replaced no dead pixel but on the back inside the glass there are small white dots spead out everywhere maybe 9 total all over. I'll try to upload photo but would you guys consider that enough to exchange?
So I went to a different store to try to exchange and they said no has to be thru warranty exchange. Im like even if phone brand new I just got is defective they said yes. I'm heading back to the original store now to ask.
No issue here!! Usually my Samsung devices have a pink hue but this is perfect! I have the black version
Nothing physically wrong with mine, but have noticed the WiFi and 4G icon displaying at the same time, when they should not.

the phone has a function where it actually uses both at the same time, to speed up the download even further.
you can disable that from >Settings > More Connection Settings > Download Booster.

It will still occasionally display both, I've seen that for years with T-Mo phones.
Mine had a dead zone right in the middle of the screen T-Mobile branded GS7 edge in Silver.
You might check your router, my router has a problem, the speed of the Internet fluctuate like crazy, sometimes the phone shows both icons, sometimes don't, but when I connect to another router it only shows the WiFi icon
So far, perfect. I am extremely happy. I also have an s6 edge, I returned twice through warranty, and all of them have visible UV glue on the panel in sunlight. I was super worried that the s7 edge would have the same issue, but luckily not.
Very happy with quality, everything working as it should.
Sent mine back..twice
1st was because the power key went out. Which came back after hard reset but still a sign none the less.
2nd scuffed screen, out of the box.
Going for #3 only because it's worth it. Normally I would if cancelled by #1
Mine has a weird dead area right next to the home bottom , what's the best way to replace it without effecting the BOGO offer ?
So my replacement has a defect as well BEFORE PUTTING YOUR PHONE IN WATER MAKE SURE YOUR SIM CARD TRAY IS COMPLETELY FLUSH WITH NO VISIBLE GAPS. This is the problem with my second one let's hope 3 is a charm.

Question New S22 Ultra Dead Pixel Issue

Oh dear. I was excited when my new Samsung Upgrade Programme S22 Ultra 512GB was delivered this morning in UK.
During the Smart Switch process from my previous S20+ I noticed this green flashing pixel in the centre of the screen. Initially it was when I had the phone charging but now its flashing all time on all screens.
This must be a hardware issue surely? See photos. Could this be software, I think not?
I'm not talking about the little green indicator you seen in the top right hand corner when the camera is open.
'll be sending it back today for a replacement. Anyone else seeing this issue or similar?
that is unfortunate. try changing screen mode to vivid and or display to fhd to see if it disappears. if it does then software issue that should be fixed in future update. if not, return. also report the issue via Samsung members app
Looks like hardware issue to me. These things happen. Unfortunately, it happened to you.
Refund or replacement it is then.
Have had all Galaxy models from the S4 to this S22 ultra 1GB. Never had a dead pixel, until now. Too left side of the screen, green like yours. Did you get it replaced?
I've the same but in blue. My fone is just 8days old.
Use ScreenTest, try in safe mode.
Almost certainly a bad display.
The failure/issue rate of the Samsung variable refresh rate displays is higher than the equally large N10+ display. Not good.
Send it back... to drop the ball Sammy

I called Samsung, went through loads of stupid tests then ended up sending it back. They replaced the screen. I suggest you do the same. Took about 5 days.
