Will Nintendo Switch dock Work with S8? - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

Hey,
I was thinking... there is any chance that the Switch dock works with the S8 like the DeX official accessory?

NO.
Not even the same thing. Just simply no, it will not work.

lol hell no are you really being serious asking this question

Aside from all the snide comments, there is a possibility. The Switch connection to the dock is USB-C which carries power and HDMI. If the Switch is using standard USB-C spec functions for this, then there is a possibility. The weak point is likely Samsung not supporting USB-C for video and not using USB Power Delivery standard. So, I'd say there is a slight possibility, but not likely.

Very possible. 10 years ago I was able to connect a purple dildo with arcane lightning bolt accents via bluetooth or NFC to a Nokia 3310 then there is a chance.

So is that an unhelpful sarcastic response or an example of current dildo intercommunication standards? So hard to tell these days...

That is majorly old school man lol I remember my nokia 6600 "GAIT" phone that could switch between gsm and tdma on Cingular and that was groundbreaking tech at that time. I got 480 talk minutes for $60 and no data. Remember what a big deal the RAZR was? People claimed it was bulletproof

So, a legitimate question then.
Control your Roomba with your phone via Bluetooth.

Hahaha, I don't know why is so absurd my question. It is an usb-c port with one usb and hdmi out. It could perfectly work

no one tried this?

nobody plays the switch

Hello,
I did try this using a small USB C extension and it did not seem to work.

Why using an extension? You couldnt put it on the dock directly?

I tried it, and was not able to get the phone in there.. gave up after 2 tiny scratches on my connector.

The switch dock has 2 plastic guide pins to line up the switch to the USB port. The extension cable bypasses these pins allowing anything to be plugged in. The extension was short enough to do the trick while also not long enough to degrade the connection ( https://www.amazon.com/RIITOP-USB-C...cz-20&linkId=962289736eacd9427405820e024a2a39 )

I am tempted to try pairing the S8 with my Switch Dock - there was no damage to your phone after trying with the extension cable?
https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSw...m_nintendo_switch_docks_switch_con_sfans_are/
Update: Confirmed that the Nintendo Switch will not work
Ok. Confirmed that the Nintendo Switch dock will not work. First I tested the extension cable - Switch works fine with the extension cable and the dock. Extension cable outputs full 1080p and charges the Switch.
Next I tried connecting the S8 to the extension cable - I see the display flicker - but no reaction from the S8 - except that the phone starts charging. Cannot even start screen mirroring - it does not appear to recognize the switch as a display output at all.
No ill effects to either dock or phone. Did not leave devices connected for too long.
I wonder how the CF001 is able to mimic both docks? If the Nintendo dock worked, I would have willingly paid the $100 for the official one...

Yeah I am curious because I am researching some dex options and I see Ebay has a generic Dex station that doubles as a switch dock... since I have a switch and a Note 8, it would be awesome to be able to utilize the same dock as needed.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/HDMI-Dex-S...235194?hash=item362671effa:g:atwAAOSwovNaF42M
Anyone know if this would even work? It's only $28.
It specifically says "HDMI Dex Station Desktop"
Edit:
I just bought this from Amazon for $29 with Free same day shipping:
https://www.amazon.com/Portable-Nin...id=1515685969&sr=1-6&keywords=switch+dex+dock
Reviews says it works great for Dex and the Nintendo switch, so I can use it for double duty. It's coming today, so I'll throw up a small review here.

then why does ebay sell a dex dock same as switch... even pix of switch and note 8 in same unit?
HDMI-Dex-Station-Desktop-Extension-Charging-Dock-For-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-8-S8/152748261755?epid=19007441379&hash=item239081817b:g:vxIAAOSwevdZ5xNa

Maybe
So I thought the same thing because they use the same ports and there are third party focks that support both switch and the s8 so all tge people saying its a stupid idea are wrong BUT the switch dock is designed so a switch can get in easily and getting an s8 there is nearly impossible if you dont cut the front i have both s8 and switch and i tryed but i got no luck getting it in so yea...

Be careful. I bought one of these on Amazon a while back...

...and I realize it might not be the same exact thing, but it looks similar in construction.
About 2 weeks after I started using it, it started shorting out and sparking! I was lucky that I was right beside it when it started happening and got my phone out of it before any damage was done. The problem was with the wiring / circuitry in the base of the unit. I threw it away immediately.
So, hopefully your will work a lot better, just be careful.

Thanks for the info. I usually buy stuff from DX, so I'm quite used to opening and doing a good quality check for every item I buy before using it!
I got the item, it works good and the build quality is good.
BUT, when you connect an external power supply, the power to the usb host port gets disconnected and the usb lines get shorted. So you can use either the USB OR the HDMI. There are 3 relays inside the device; by disabling the top one you can do the 500ms short trick and get the HDMI + USB HOST + CHARGING features, but it takes some effort.

Are you able to use or make a charge only cable (only 5V and ground)? That way the USB data lines should not be affected if the charger shorts the data pins.
Or is the one of the relays shorting the data pins inside the adapter?
Sorry, maybe I didn't explain correctly. The adapter shorts the phone's usb data pins, everything else is untouched. A delay circuit is implemented too, so it looks like they tried to do the 500ms trick but failed miserably so they sold the dock as is.
has anyone got any further with this project? I have an original Samsung smart dock and have now got the hdmi converters but nothing is shown on the lapdock screen. The adaptors and lapdock work fine as I have had it connected to my sky hd box?
Hi, did you try the adapters with a TV? My adapters work well and send a (distorted) image to the lapdock..
Yes I tried them both ways as an output to a tv and also an input to a moniter
looks pretty interesting. huh

USB c hubs, mhls/slimport adapters?

I want to get something to plug my g5 into an HDMI port, but so far I haven't found any conclusive evidence that the g5 supports mhl or slimport adapters. I've also seen some of those hubs for the macbook or chrome pixel, but I can't find any indication those would work either.
Anyone have any on hand that they've verified to work? Ideally I'd like a hub that has a USB 3.0 a port, HDMI port, and another USB c port for charging.
I bought a Cable Matters USB type C male to HDMI female, tried it out, feels like the LG G5 goes at 15 fps or at least lower than 24fps and my minimal testing confirms 2ch (nothing more than that) support, felt a little too disgusted with the quality (mind you, still played 1080p) and lack of overall resolution. I would definitely love to hear others input from other people with different products as well. I'm hoping it isn't like this with everything else.

I'd imagine (read, hope) that would just be a function of a cheap adapter. Due to the fact that the g5 can drive the vr goggles at a decent framrate, I would think 1080p 30hz would be no big deal for it.
I'm going to bite the bullet and buy one of those adapters off of Amazon. Specifically this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01BSJVY7Y/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A14L9DIA3NK9B0

Bad news
Well, only bad news. The g5 doesn't even recognize there's an HDMI port there. I'll fiddle with some settings but I have a feeling it's not going to work. The USB 3 port kept mounting/unmounting every few seconds, and when it did stay mounted, I only got transfer speeds of 2MBps. The charging worked though. 1/3 is a bad ratio IMO.
UPDATE!!!!1!1!1ONE!!!
So I'm slightly retarded, I didn't have the input on my stereo receiver set to the input the phone was on. Once I changed the input, it worked like a charm. It's 1080p 24hz and only 2 channel audio, but I think the audio is an Android limitation. Also I guess es file explorer just didn't like my flash drive cuz an actual portable hard drive worked great on the USB 3 port.

Awesome! I would be so down for this, but I have a surround sound setup and 2ch is something I can't get past, unfortunately. Have you tried the stock video app or VLC to stream for the audio?
I have streamed through the Google Cast, but sometimes my files would be too large over my network or the streaming apps like AllCast would only support some audio types, VLC can stream but its just too muffled and not that great over network.

Way ahead of you, im typing this with a wireless logitech keyboard also mouse works great! I'd never actually used a mouse/keyboard with android before and im surprised at how nice it is.
Update: for those curious, it also suports USB hubs. I only tried a 2.0 cuz I don't have e a 3.0 hub. However multiple USB storage devices gave it issues, but I don't see why one would need more than 1 of those at any given time.
Per the developer website the G5 should have display port alternate mode (maybe only 2 channel) on the type C connector. Some of the mono-price adapters should allow you to use this but I haven't tried one yet.
For video out I got the cheapest usb type c to vga adaptor I could find on Amazon (the brand is Techvilla) and it works perfectly.

With that adapter can you charge while playing video?
For football season I normally find a working mobile version & then deal with casting to my TV, but the casting has been less then stable so if I can hard wire it would be awesome. Need to be able to charge simultaneously though to make it through a full day (even a normal non QC is good enough).

I used it last weekend, you can charge it while using it, but the percentage didn't actually go up. It stayed the same over the 2+hours I was watching. It may have just been my power source though (cheap battery bank). As long as you start with a decent charge you should be fine for extended periods.

Hi!
I own the similar noname adapter. It works fine, but sometimes it spontaneously disconnects. And i can't guess is it a problem in the phone's firmware or in the adapter itself.
Have you encountered this?
I have the Samsung Multiport Adapter for my Galaxy TabPro S, so I figured I could hook up the G5 to the adapter. The picture shows up on the TV, but I don't hear any sound. Need to try more when I've got more time. I'm also curious if passthrough charging and USB works... that'd be rather cool, though I don't know what I could use it for. Maybe run Kodi...?

HP Elite X3 Lap Dock With Stock Note 9

As I promised, here is my review on using HP Elite Lap Dock X3 with my Note 9
First thing first, the connection quality.
I don't understand why, but it sometimes need several times of reconnecting my note 9 to the lap dock to be recognized properly. Sometimes, my phone recognizes it as only a HDMI monitor, so the keyboard and touchpad doesn't work. On other time, it sometimes shows up in a not FHD screen (it appears blurry and resolution is very low(. Both of this problem can be fixed by reconnecting the phone (sometimes, several times).
Secondly, the audio.
THIS is my main problem and hesitation on using my hp lap dock with a dex phone. On my rooted, Oreo Samsung S8, the audio just doesn't want to output to the HP Lap Dock. And.... It happens as well with my note 9.
Even worse, is the audio rerouting option. When I used my rooted S8, I can reroute the audio output to my S8 using Samsung's Smart Switch app. On my Note 9, when I checked the smartswitch options, there is only a HDMI output and USB Audio output. There is NO option to reroute the audio back to the phone.
*Just a note, my HP Lap Dock audio itself is working. I tested it by connecting it with my Surface Go and it can output sound pretty nice.
Third, the USB-C connector on the right.
Yep, just the same experience with my rooted S8, it doesn't work. Such a bummer.
Well, so far what I've reviewed is the bad side of using HP Lap Dock as dex compaion.. But what are the pros?
First of all, portability.
Well, actually not that portable since this lap dock is quite huge and you'll be getting a better laptop in this size using windows laptop or macbook. But, if you're in a pinch of money after getting sucked dry when pre-ordering your note 9, or you just wanted to show off note 9 capabilities, this is it.
Secondly, the screen and keyboard.
Well, basically this lap dock have a very good screen and keyboard. If you're planning on writing a lot of thing on the go, you can use this.
Personally, eve though I just bought a Microsoft Surface Go, I still prefer the android-dex for my main daily usage. The reason is, android just seems to be a lot practical to use (open youtube? just click the app, no need to type in the browser). The surface go only sits there to ensure whether there is some things that need to be done using .exe applications or complex writing using Microsoft full-fledge office 365 suite.
Hopefully, this review is helpful for anyone planning to use it
*For the record, my hp lap dock system version is at 8.0.11.0.
Anyone using different system version may encounter difference in experience.
Thanks for posting the review! I have messed around a little with my wife's Note 9 on my HP lapdock and I will post a review as well on this thread based on my own personal experience.
By the way, how do you know what system version your lapdock is using?

It is shown when you turn on the lap dock, and it shows whether to connect via USB c (on the left) or wireless display (on the right). On the right side, there is a lap dock software under the lap dock ID on wireless mirroring
I shot a quick raw video of me using my Note 9 with the HP lapdock. The speakers work great and the usb-c ports on the right are also functional. Also worth mentioning is that when I receive a phone call, the game music pauses and the audio re-routes to my bluetooth headset. When I am finished with the call, the sound routes back to the lapdock!

Does anyone know if the lapdock charge with a phone charger (QC 3.0 or PD) via the USB-C?

Hahaha... I agree so much...
Well, for me, I just treat the power brick as my main phone charger as well.. that way, I'm not that bothered by it (since i always carry a backpack to work)..
My experience have been completely negative
The lap dock first I ensured to have the latest firmware T0059 - but the issue is a black screen and constantly rebooting is persistent.
Tried with several devices (Huawei P20 Pro, 2 Galaxy Note 9 -both Exynos, and the HP Elite X3 phone). Only with the Elite phone it worked as expected, keyboard worked fine too.
With Android devices, it was not working and although you could see the keyboard working fine, the screen kept between showing the HP logo then black screen the rebooting. The Touchpad did not work in this mode, only the keyboard and it was reported as an ITE Device(8595) by the keyboard options.
This is all tested using the wired mode and connecting via the usb-c port on the left of the lap dock. Tested also with several cables, some of them confirmed to be Thunderbolt USB-C 3.1 (Gen 2).
In wireless casting, using the Smart View option, I was able to push the video output through Miracast. But the keyboard, although working, it made double key-presses. The Touchpad did not work in this mode either. Audio output worked fine. Funny that connecting an external keyboard worked in this mode and it didn't do any double keypresses.
To make it sort of manageable, in my Exynos Note 9 at least, I had to:
-Push the video wirelessly via miracast & Smart View.
-Connect a keyboard (wireless and wired, doesn't matter) to the Lap dock
-Connect a mouse (I tried wireless) directly to the Note through a USB-C to USB-A adaptor.
The experience was okaish in this wireless mode. But still unhappy. I wish there was a way to debug it.
My test were all with Exynos Note 9, and some comments in Youtube suggest it could be that this only works with Snapdragon based Note 9. I have yet to try with a snapdragon device.

For the note, I personally use an exynos one as well, and the wired mode does work (except for audio and USB ports)..
I think there are still unknown factors that made some of them work, while others don't...

same, this is what primary issue holding me back from getting one.
considering the average battery life on the lap dock, it would be nice to be able to charge it using existing chargers I have around.

Mine is V8H07UT#ABA, bought it refurbished from eBay about a year ago...
Working wired connection without USB and audio output..
A very kind redditor confirmed his working Lap Dock is model V8H07UTR#ABA - another American SKU it seems.
It sort of proves my points that American lap dock models work but European models don't. Perhaps different components due to difference in local regulations?

The Inateck 60W USB C Charger with 2-Meter Type C Cable works for me.
Cant post link as I'm new here (apparently)
Rakesh:
I think you need to post 10 times to be able to lift those restrictions.
Here is the link that Rakesh wanted to share:

Mind that the cable is not thunderbolt so it will only charge your lapdock but it cannot be used for connecting Note 9 to the lapdock.
I got this one and its Gen 2 USB 3.1 so it works fine:

ASUS ZenScreen GO MB16AP - Will it work with Dex?

https://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/MB16AP/
I'm thinking of getting the Zenscreen Go (when it's available) to work with Note 9's Dex mode since it can double as secondary screen for my laptop too when I need it. However, I'm not sure if it will actually work with the Note 9. Any ideas/comments?

I don't see why it won't work. Be cautious though for a battery drain, since the monitor uses USB-C for its power as well, instead of using (having) its own battery.
I'd recommend for you to get a HP Elite x3 Lap Dock instead if you meant to bring it out for "portability" (15.6 inch is not portable for me at all) if you plan to mainly using it with your phone. Just think of using your N9 as a bonus of getting it work with a laptop.

The MB16AP has its own battery. The big question is when will it become available.
Yea, the screen has it's own battery. I know Dex works using USB C to HDMI, but I'm not sure if USB C to USB C will work with the Zenscreen or not.
I have considered the HP Lapdock but without the phone it is just deadweight. At least the Zenscreen can serve as a second display for my laptop so I'll be getting more utility out of it.

USB C to C will work. I use an HP Elite Lap Dock with a USB C connector..
Regarding HP Lapdock, it is not. If you're using Note 9 with it, your phone will still functions as usual. The deadweight happens if you're using older DeX phone that doesn't support dual screen DeX.

Asus is coming out with a touch version of the MB16AP, but I've searched high and low for the model number and came up with nothing, and who knows when it will come out. In the meantime I ordered the MB16AP on ebay which is the non-touch version with the battery and it should arrive next week. According to the Asus website, it should be compatible with any android phone (version 5.0 or above) and most laptops with Displaylink drivers. So I assume it will work with the Note 9 in Dex mode.

Good to see ya here in the Note 9 forum TS ! :good:
Nice!
Wow i'm sure glad I saw this.... been looking for something like that HP Lapdock. I got the Sentio Superbook and after a year and a half it was quite a let-down. Tech just changes so fast and the user experience was not good. Played around with Dex and it works well for my needs.
Well that external monitor (MB16AP) came in this past week and I've been testing it with the Note 9. First of all, she is a beauty. Works with the Note 9 and DeX without any issues. On the Note 8, I had blackouts and all sorts of issues using either a hdmi or vga monitor. Since then I've upgraded to the Note 9 and the same issues appear but less so. It was somewhat manageable. I figure it may have been the monitors and not the Notes. But when I hooked up the Note 9 to the Zenscreen MB16AP, wow what a difference. Smooth as butter.
The only issue I've encountered is since the Note 9 and the Zenscreen use a single USB-C cable, there is no way to use any usb or usb dongle wireless mouse and keyboard. You are either forced to use the built in Note 9 keyboard and use the touch screen as the mouse. The monitor finally showed up on Amazon and its about $50 more than on ebay due to the shipping. But at least Amazon has a way better return policy that the two outfits on ebay that are selling the model.
I did a somewhat review of the monitor on Amazon.

I was about to get a zenscreen go, before I got an HP X3 Lapdock. I'm rly glad I got it instead, cause I was gonna get the Zenscreen, and a BT keyboard and mouse to mimick a lapdock like miracast.
No need for that nonsense now. If anyone gets an HP lapdock, the only combo I've seen work consistently is the Snapdragon Note 9 + The american Lapdock model which starts with a V. All the other models have various things that don't work. They start with a Y. I'd also avoid getting a refurbished one, as it's not known is they used parts from other models that are not compatible with the Note 9. Just get it new on amazon or ebay. new.
I got the HP Lapdock and boy so glad I did. For my needs it's perfect. Everything works great and the battery lasts a long time.... I ran it over 7 hours yesterday to test. The only thing that doesn't work is left and right clicking on the touchpad do nothing. You have to use gestures.... but I use a mouse anyway.....
Seriously Samsung needs to make their own lapdock for dex.....

I have an Asus MB16AC that I use with my laptop. I tried it the other day, but the monitor would only power on for 1-2 seconds. This evening, I charged the phone to 100% and tried again.
Using the USB-C to USB-C cable to the Note 9, screen mirroring works great, but only lasts for a short time. Playing video makes the monitor power off even faster. Definitely a problem powering the display from the phone.
Switching to Dex mode makes everything go black. I assume that Dex mode takes more power.
I'll order a powered USB3 hub and try again. I can't seem to find a USB-C hub that has USB-C ports, except for one that does PD (Power Delivery).

Have you found a solution for the power? Wouldn't charging the phone with Qi help or USB-C PD is needed? I have not found any adapter allowing out on phone, and in by another USB-C that would send power.

Yes I can place the phone on a wireless charger while using the USB-C cable to send the DEX display to the monitor. But it seems the monitor is taking up more juice than it gets. Thus depleting the battery eventually. You would think that if the Note 9 is supplying the power to the monitor that the monitor would not use the internal battery but it seems that it does. Then if the internal battery goes down to 0, it will not allow Dex to display until the internal battery has at least 5% juice. It baffles me why Asus did not include a splitter of some sort or have the device have another USB-C port for charging.
btw that USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 cable by NekTeck is a suitable replacement for the OEM Asus USB-C cable.

Dextop setup...

Starting a thread to see what kind of kooky and cool ideas peeps have come up with for their setup.
I just bought another Logitech MX570 trackball mouse. My 3rd. I like to go back and forth between traditional mice (MX Performance) and trackball so I don't get carpal tunnel and tendonitis. I'm up in the air about the dedicated keyboard. I will probably get the Logitech K800 as that has been my favorite so far. I would like to try the Craft but too expensive.
I know many of you are just going straight usb-c to HDMI adapter and using Bluetooth accessories. Those are welcome too. It would be really nice if Logitech came out with a sweet sweet keyboard with touchpad built in. There are a couple but the cheap one is just that, cheap and low quality. I bought my mom the K400 and it works fine for her but not for me. Logitech needs to step up their game on a keyboard with touchpad built in.
I am also using Logitech because of the unifying receiver so only USB port is taken for 2 accessories. Have not decided on a USB thumb drive yet.
What setups are you running for productivity with DEX? Please share so there is a thread peeps (that actually use the search function) can come and see what options there are to fit their workflow. Or haven't thought of.
I will update later today see if my USB controllers work for emulators and what the latency is, which I am hoping is just as good as mouse input. I was expecting critical latency that would make the experience bad.
Anybody try with a USB powered monitor yet?
I'm sorry, but..... pics or it didn't happen, right?
I invested in this dex stuff just as a hobby. I already have 4 pc’s plus a laptop and an iPad Pro 12.9 i carry with me daily.
I passed on it with the note 8 but thought to give it a go the note 9.
I also use the mxperformance mouse for my pcs but i picked up a jelly comb foldable portable wireless keyboard. It has a click-style mouse pad and the keypad is pleasant to use. I also picked up the dex pad , hdmi 2.0b latest spec hdmi cable.
I guess a good way to use this setup will be when I download films to the device. Rather than copy the file over to the pc, i can just connect the dex to the display and have better flexibility.
I found the jelly comb folding keyboard to be crap. Double characters everywhere. Moved to a generic wireless mouse on one of the USB ports and an MS folding BT keyboard. It's replaced my work laptop for 80% of tasks. Oh and powering the HDMI adapter by a Nintendo switch USB C power supply as it kicks out 2.6A which is enough to charge the phone at the same time.
I probably won't post a pic (if I even remember) until Friday or Saturday. I think I will try using it one day and a USB 3 thumb drive. I think DEX only supports USB 2 though. Another missed opportunity by Samsung to make this an even better pseudo desktop experience. Did Sammy use 3 or 3.1 for their USB C? Having two or even one USB 3 A port would've been sweet for local storage. Between a Logitech unifying receiver and a SanDisk UltraFit USB 3 drive and you're talking one smaller desktop.
Samsung could make some corny commercials pitting it against Intel NUC boxes like their Apple commercials. ???
Hi guys I have my dex set up, however I'm looking for a Bluetooth keyboard my monitor only has an hdmi, vga connection so I need advice on what will be my best option maybe I should get a cable with a USB receiver for an wireless keyboard any inputs are welcomed thanks.
I'm using my Note9 with Dex running on HP X3 lap dock. Great setup for travel but also when I need to edit things locally on the phone----tasker for example. Everything works on the lap dock including sound. Track pad works but could be better.

Woah, you have a working sound for hp elite? Is there any special way to get it?
I had picked up a DeX dock from Amazon for 60 bucks. I used a logitech anywhere BT mouse and the blue BT keyboard. Mouse and keyboard work great. Resolution looks crappy, seem kinda blurry for a 1080p screen. Still needs work, I was hoping to get the DeX working good enough to use as a htpc streamer for my living room TV. Still fun to play around with tho.
Sent from my Samsung SM-N960U1 using XDA Labs
does DeX work with any cheap HDMI to usb C adapter that supports 4k and 60 Hz? There are some on eBay for 7 bucks
dex output is crystal clear for me. I have used this on an lg 4K 27 inch monitor and my old school plasma Panasonic 3D display from 2011
I have a late spec hdmi 2.0b cable and again the resolution is not blurry at all. Plenty of videos on the web to also show the clarity .
Yes dex works with a regular hdmi spec cable usb c to hdmi. I have also used dex with just a cable (waiting on the pad tho show up)
What happens when incoming call?
Hi. Not sure where to post this. Thinking of jumping from iPhone to Note9
Can somebody tell me if I will be able to use the Note9 as a normal handset with an incoming call? (While in Dex). Everything I see indicates the acutal Note9 runs independent when docked but I can't find any example of making/receiving a call on one.
I want to use a USB extension cable and just be able to use the phone like normal when connected to Dex. Not sure what happens to the audio if I'm also using external speakers via Dex.
Thanks!

I've received several phone calls when on DeX.. Since I'm working in a personal room, I'm just answering the phone calls using speakerphone.. If you're using external speaker, the audio will be routed there (I once used my UE Boom 2 speaker for answering call)
thanks.
I know I'm still connected to Dex via a USB-C extension cable but I'd like to be able to just pick up the phone and use it "privately" like normal. Is that possible?
I believe something changed with the Note9 making it work differently with Dex.
