Update apps, I had to disable google play services and then re-enable and then on the website version of the play store added it to my 935v. Then reboot, hold the home button, and profit.

how did you disable Google Play Services? For me that option is grayed out.

Google Play store question

Not sure exactly where to post this? In the Google Play store settings I have the auto update disabled but whenever I reboot if there is a update for a app it will automatically download and install. How do I stop this?

If you unchecked the Auto update setting how could the apps update automatically. Ok check it like this: tap the 3 dots in the right top corner and go to settings. Check if you have ticked "Auto update apps" or "Update over WfiFi only" options.
If this doesn't work then tell me. I'll suggest you something else.
There's a specific toggle for individual apps to allow them to auto-update, too. Might check that as well. If that doesn't work, try clearing the Play Store's data (wiping all preferences), open up the Play Store, and then wait a while (up to a few days, depending on what number of apps you have installed and how active their developers are ) and see what happens.

The only options I have checked are the notification of apps and games I have downloaded and the Google Admob. As for the individual apps I never check the automatic update box. I will try the other suggestions made by others here. Thanks everyone

Well, the Google Search app is practically Google Now. Try clearing its data, and rebooting.
Try going to apps > all > Google Search > then clear all data.

Got three screens now. When I press home it goes to the first screen. is this normal?
I think Google now is still integrated into your device. Try searching something in the search bar then tap the ... Button then go to settings> enable Google now. Not sure if it is of much help:silly:
If you have it installed but just disabled via its own settings, which is what it sounds like you've done, long press on your homescreen wallpaper > Settings then enable it at the top.

How do you enable OK Google?

The title says it all. It is grayed out whether custom choice wake up is selected or not.
Go to the Google menu km the Settings, from there "search and now" and enable what you need.
Thanks for the advice but that option is grayed out. ""Ok Google" detction" Under "Search & Now". I will post a screenshot later on.
Try cleaning the data of the google app, then uninstall and reinstall.
As far as I know, OK Google works from the app or google launcher home screen
This is what it looks like. I tried clearing cache and data. I will now try uninstalling the updates.
Edit: I cannot uninstall or disable the Google app. What gives? I want to avoid factory reset if possible.
Look for permissions given to the google app, enable mic if disabled and try google now launcher
Thank you for the advice. I was able to get the "OK Google" command to work. The option is still grayed out in the setting, but I did it via Google Play app. It is an odd bug (if it is). Maybe it has to do with Huawei's voice command option (that wakes up the phone)?
It can, since EMUI is kinda aggressive with apps

Forwarding the instruction how to enable OK Google voice command from everywhere if someone is interested...
https://www.xda-developers.com/enab...ord-detection-on-huawei-honor-phones-no-root/

Google Assistant running on Moto X pure.

Not sure if there is a thread on this already or not but I have gotten Google assistant to work with the exception of '' OK Google '' voice prompt.
https://youtu.be/53AE3YB4SqU
Should I post a tutorial?
It was fairly simple. Root and Xposed version 81 are required.
Yes, please.
That'll be helpful. For some reason it's not enabled even after installing AndroidN-ify exposed module on mine. I guess I need an updated Google App for that, not sure though. Looking forward to your tutorial

You can get it working with the "Ok Google" prompt as well, but you give up Moto Voice.
Turn off Moto Voice and the Assistant Xposed Mod
Reboot phone
Google App -> Settings -> Voice -> "Ok Google" Detection
Set up "Ok Google" detection
Turn the Assistant Xposed Mod back on
Reboot phone
Launch the assistant with "Ok Google" and it will walk you through the process for voice detection again.
A couple notes:
If you don't turn the Xposed Mod off, selecting Ok Google settings will crash the app, and it needs to be set up at least once.
If you don't turn off Moto Voice, it will use Google Now instead of the Assistant when you use voice activation.

The Material Xposed Installer is probably the easiest way to do it, if you're already rooted and have TWRP installed.

Did all of those. Google assistant even comes up when I say 'Ok Google' now. But every time it goes into training mode. And the Google app still crashes when I go into 'Ok Google detection' menu. Any idea why it's so? Do I also have to update my Play services app?

It is a known issue and I think it hasn't been solved yet.
Android N-ify nightlies xposed module besides the assistant brings more Nougat goodies. https://ci.paphonb.xyz/jenkins/job/AndroidN-ify/ http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/xposed-android-n-ify-features-t3345091
Google Assistant on Nougat, Xposed not needed. Get Assistant - Root app on the Play store. It changes your build.prop for you as well as backing the old one up and tells you what to do from there. Only thing is whenever you use the "Okay Google" and assistant opens it keeps going back to the setting to train your voice. Like it isn't saving it but it will recognize your voice once you press "Do it later". Another way around is I long press my home button, assistant opens, then you can talk. Once the assistant is already open "Okay Google" works just fine.
This is running on AICP 12.1 Nightlies (Nougat)

Yeah I'm with you on that, I'm using TruePureXMM v2.9 with GravityBox, Android N-ify & Assistant Enabler and after setting up Ok Google voice detection in the Google App / Settings, and then again once within the Assistant when it first opened... It's not having 1 issue at all and isn't asking to retrain, even after a reboot and works perfectly with both Ok Google and long-pressing the home button. Outstanding!!!
I noticed on the new Google beta app 6.10.33.21 that Google assistant no longer needs chop assistant on any custom nougat Roms. The retain voice bug is gone! Happy day!

Just confirmed that it is also working on my Nexus 6. Once the Google beta app is installed the retrain issue is resolved. Nexus 6 is stock rooted with assistant.
My Google assistant is now showing "can't reach Google at the moment" getting the same issue on my Nexus 6. Google now works but the assistant just quit working. Anyone else having this issue?
now that google assistant is rolling out to all devices, which is better for stock, our moto voice or the google 1?

Where is Google Assistant?

Hi. Just bought a new unlocked HTC U11 and am very pleased with it but I can't find Google Assistant. I've tried long pressing on the Home button but no luck. My Android version is 7.1.1 Software number is 1.13.401.1 and Play services is 11.0.55.
Am I doing something wrong (very possible!)?
Thanks in advance.
Hold down home button(fingerprint scanner), tap left bottom Google Icon, then menu top left(3 bars), then Settings, Click Enable Google Assistant.
Thanks for swift reply.
No sign of the enable Google Assistant I'm afraid.
Any thoughts?
What shows up when you hold fingerprint down?
Nothing like that I'm afraid
Just the old Google screen with the search box at the top and the box with Reminders, Events etc below
Is your Google play services up to date? I had assistant configuration as part of out of the box set-up.
Sent from my HTC U11 using Tapatalk
Deleted updates and then updated Play services and still nothing, it certainly is a mystery.
Switched my phone to English and deleted Google App data, once I pressed home button for few seconds Google Assistant setup showed..
You can try that.
Thanks for your reply, but I'm afraid still no luck.

What's the language of your phone?
What version of Google App?
I had to change my phone language and Google App language to English (US) as default, clear Google App data to have google assistant enabled.
I have the same issue (all latest firmware & software updates).
Have you tried the above solutions?
Can you go to App Drawer click Google App, 3 Bars at top Left, Then Settings. The top should be Google Assistant, subcategories under it are Settings and What can you do?
As people have stated change your language to English and then go to Settings/Apps and then to each of the Goggle Apps and clear cache. Google, Google Play Services. Then resync all.
Changing to English (US) has worked! Thanks to everyone for their help.
Are you guys able to get OK Google voice detection works? Is U11 able to wake up to these words even screen is off /locked/ screen on and unlocked? Even added to Trusted voice. I dont seems to get it work in English (US). Other then press and hold Google Assistant is working.
Possible solution to hands-free Google wakeword on U11
Setting up an HTC U11 for dual VA
1. Long press on the fingerprint reader to bring up Google Assistant.
2. Touch the drawer icon in the upper right.
3. Touch the 3 dots in the upper right.
4. Select Settings
5. Touch Phone under Devices
6. Touch ‘OK Google Detection’
7. Enable “Say OK Google any time”
Finish by saying "OK Google 3x. Now Google Assistant launches hands-free even when the screen is off.
